Comfortable, affordable, clean, central, reasonably quiet. Liked our stay here and would happily stay again. It’s in a busy area but the hotel itself is quiet thanks to decent windows. The restaurant in the hotel is also very tasty and affordable. The staff are nice and accommodating.

The hotel itself was good. I loved all the staffing. There’s a gentleman named Hesen on the properties that can provide you with tours and information for things in the city. The hotel has great security and they will help you exchange currency along with helping get you a car, SD card for your phone, or anything you need. The street is extremely busy and loud but if you get an inside room you’ll be fine. If you’re looking to stay in this part of Delhi, then I do recommend this facility.

Very nice hotel with high tech amenities . The Wi-Fi in the room was very high speed and I could watch Netflix on the smart tv installed which was a great plus . Hotel offers great excursions and I suggest it’s safe to book with them . Since it’s city centre of Delhi it’ll be lively and busy . Restaurant is a must try !!

The hotel is equipped with great facilities and high quality rooms . The staff is incredible and I must say after looking other hotel options nearby this property truly speaks for itself . I would recommend this property to other travellers because it meets all international standards . Ist time to india. Shocking how dirty crumbling crowded polluted the city is over all in Delhi. Yet, life forges onward.
So this affects the rating but should not for the hotel which for the rate, is reasonable, offered good value facilities n conveniences. Some staff is grudgingly accommodating but overall helpful. Wifi is blinky n slow but that seems to be the norm than the exception. Sheets pills so felt I was getting an added exfoliation for the price😂 the restaurant is nice where easy quiet tasty dining is needed for the block.

Have stayed at both the Goodwin hotels in the pass eight years and the rooms and the service have been very good. But this time the room and the hotel service as very poor and was not happy. I will think about booking this hotel in the future.

A very nice hotel near the station. Not for someone’s first visit to India as out side seems rough area but perfectly safe and friendly. For the traveller very close to the station to walk there. Very good rooms, good bed but charged me for breakfast even though it should have been included.

Disappointing service

Experience was good until the last night where my aunt came to visit us for a few hours before we were going to check out at 6.30am. We arrived at the hotel at 3am and we did not want our aunt to travel back home by herself so we invited her to the hotel room to sit with us whilst we packed to check out in 3 hours. The reception staff kept asking for my aunts ID and even thought I kept asking the receptionist for the email address he kept giving me the wrong one. They were constantly calling us demanding the other side of the ID card even though the photo and main info was on the side we sent. We explained that given that it was 3am there was no family member awake to send the other side of the card at the moment and requested whether we could provide this in a few hours when someone would be awake to send it. The receptionist did not accept this and said that my aunt needed to leave. At 3am in the morning in Delhi where there has been so many reports of rape and crimes against women.

Of course I asked the receptionist for his policy to confirm this and he mumbled that it was in the room. I checked the room and there was no policy documents there.

The treatment we had on this night was completely unacceptable. The receptionist did not have any regard for the time of night and thought it was acceptable to let a 60 year old senior male and 3 women leave the hotel room at 3am in the morning. Completely disgusting treatment. Would not recommend this hotel.

This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in and they basically had us stay one night to take money from us. The floors were dirty, the shower was moldy, the front desk did not answer the phone when we were at the airport and could not find the car we had ordered, the bed sheets smelled old, and the manager kicked us out after the first night because they did not have particular licensing. It was crazy. DO NOT stay here.

Medical service is ablolutely negative.

Reception service and help in case of emergancy is hopeless. Reception just could not arrange medical help and directed us to approach nearby Hospital,which was impossible when my wife was immobile due to knee pain. Not appreciated.
The reception promised Complementary breakfast while check in and suddenly when check out, charged very high price,on some excused in order to cheat customers. I had to pay Rs.5000 extra on demand with a view to not to raise issue with them, since i had booking with Hotels.com

Good food at the cafe and restaurant and very convenient. For a more expensive hotel I feel that the standard isn't maintained - for example there are always collections of used cups, plates, sheets and towels in the stairwell awaiting removal by housekeeping - the bin in my bathroom was old, rusty, and the lid broken - there was no information folder in my room, no priceless for the minibar, and only two complimentary teabags.

plesant stop over in a midst of chaos

Spent two days in Delhi before traveling to the north east states in India. This low to mid range Hotel was clean and well run. The Staff were both friendly and helpful. Our only issues was Delhi itself. With poor air quality and a city that is very much over populated... we will not be travelling through this city again.

Beware of theft.

Location is good if you can stand the noise and dust from the front road. The inclusive breakfast is nothing much and tasted bland.The room is clean and the beds are comfortable. Only bath towers are provided but no face and hand towers. The house keeping did not replace toilet paper when it was finished. No complimentary bottled water. There are thieves in the hotel whom we suspect from within. My friend 2nd hand phone left inside a box was stolen from the room when we were out.

Nice hotel for the price

For the price this is a very good hotel, it’s clean and quite modern. The only downside is that the floor was a bit dusty and needed a mop. However, compared to other 3 star hotels it’s very good. We went to the roof top restaurant which is opened 24hrs and it was very good at a good price. It should be noted that we stayed at the studio room. So the room was spacious

My friend and I had 4 nights at Hotel Godwin and enjoyed a wonderful stay. For the price, I would highly recommend it for its central location and wonderful staff. The Manager, Mr Dhawan keeps a close eye on the hotel ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Nice room but weird treatment

Rooms was excellent for this price range of about Rs 2K and the breakfast buffet was excellent. One of the better bets for staying near New Delhi station. However, the check in process was a little troublesome.

1 Filled in my abbreviated home address in the guest register after they copied my Aadhaar card which contained my full address. Was told to fill in my full address.

2 At first room key card was not issued. When asked was told that someone from the staff will let me in my room every time. Was going through previous reviews and seems like it happened to at least one other person too.

3. Then I was told to put in my father's name too below my name in the register. I am old enough so that never before I faced that request. I got the feeling that I got this special treatment maybe because I am from Patna, Bihar.

Keeping in view this and because Paharganj has no shortage of hotels, I might skip this place in future.

Hotel is fine but not great. They are in the middle of a remodel and are trying to become more elegant. Many of the new features are just a bit off, however, giving the place a rather surreal feel. For instance, the electronic drapes are wired backwards so you have to hit the ‘close’ button to open them and the ‘open’ button to make them close. The designer wash basin was installed improperly so the high point of the rim (and the label) are about 20 degrees off center and the faucet is so high that water splashes on the counter every time it is used. The floor in the shower is not slanted properly so it doesn’t drain efficiently and the water puddle never quite evaporates. None of these issues are major problems, just odd. The restaurant has good food and friendly staff. The man at the front desk is the only truly negative feature of the hotel; he was surly and unhelpful but all of the other staff were great.

Nice hotel closer to the NDLS railway station

The hotel is located close to the New Delhi railway station. The facilities in the room are top notch with designer lamps, switches, curtains, etc., The bed is very comfy and the room is quite spacious, as well as the washroom.
The only downside is the manager/the one that was in charge at the reception. We asked for an airport drop off since we didnt avail the complimentary airport pickup and was told that only pick ups are complimentary. Which is fair and i accepted it. But, when we asked how much it would cost to drop us in the nearby metro station which is like less than 700 metres away, he wanted to charge us 350 INR and I just paid 56 Rupees in Uber the previous night. Obviously, I refused and took an auto/tuk-tuk to the metro which only costed me 70. He just kept oggling all the while we checked in or out which left a bad taste apart from a very nice hotel experience besides.

We booked pickup from hotel and the driver start talking with us because he wanted to have tips, we arrive at the hotel and they told us to wait the room was not ready, we got the best room (as they said) but the room was very noisy there was always someone on the roof as the restaurant on the top, we came back from lunch and other receptionist again asked our details of staying and checked the booked we never felt safe there, there is no bathroom in the lobby so we have to go the other property, we were not allowed to see our friends from outside not even in their cafe, the staff was very rude and ruff, the room was clean but other then that they don't have anything to offer

This is a reasonable hotel at a reasonable price. The street is dirty and not very prepossessing, but this is Old Delhi after all. Located near the main train station and metro. There is a nice rooftop restaurant that does cold beer (in chilled glasses) plus another restaurant downstairs.

\nBest place to stay in New Delhi

Great hotel. I was going to stay at one of the 5 star hotels in New Delhi, but I am glad I didn’t, Godwin is a great value, and you end up saving money on every portion of your trip. You will want to hire a driver to go see Taj Mahal, Jaipur, and the Ganges etc. The travel desk at the Godwin run by Apar is super helpful and offers day trip with private driver at a fraction of what you would pay at a 5 star hotel. The Godwin also has a personal feel, where the waitstaff at the cafe and front desk all know you by name, and actually care about your stay. The hotel has two restaurants and a free breakfast buffet. The ground floor cafe is great - try the indian lemon soda and the banana milkshake. The rooms were great with showers that had body nozzles and a rain fall shower. If you are staying here, i would suggest hiring the hotel driver for at least one full day, to see all the major points in deli, then use uber for daily transport to markets etc. the tuk tuks are kind of scammy - they always try and take you to the “official tourist offices” of which there are hundreds. Also - godwin hotel is really close to the delhi railway station shopping street. Avoid th beauty salons around the hotel, the services offered like facials can be very expensive and they will try and sell you a huge beauty package. The area around the hotel is wonderful for exploring - its full of life, and full of India.

One of the best hotels near New Delhi Rly Station

Pros:
1) Check-in was smooth.
2) The studio room we were allotted was nice and spacious and had all the modern amenities a hotel of this standard should have.
3) The minibar was stacked nicely with a mix of bottled as well as mineral water and soft beverages of different varieties which were, of course, chargeable if used at the time of check-out.
4) The room was nice and cozy and felt upmarket in every manner.
5) The bathroom was clean and had ample space.But the water pressure was low in the bathroom even though our room was located in the first floor.

Cons:
Although everything looked so nice about the room and the amenities, some of the things were not up to the mark.
1) Like one of the panels of the touch buttons provided for lights went loose and it popped out of the wall. It was previously fixed to the wall by adhesive tapes which in my opinion was a lousy thing to do. It looked very awkward. Every time when I needed to operate the lights, I had to hold the whole panel on my hand and operate the buttons on it with the fingers of my other hand and had to be very cautious so as not to touch the live wires at the back.
2) Another thing I noticed that the bathroom floor developed some cracks at the corners which can of course be ignored.
3) The room service was reluctant to take my clothes for laundry and repeatedly told me that the delivery would be late. I agreed but when the clothes were returned one of them was still wet. I was really disappointed for that.

We booked a studio room. The room was good sized, spacious and comfortable. Room service was efficient. Courtesy car transfer to the airport is a convenient bonus.
Negative points; no hand towels in the bathroom and the lack of hot water to the shower in the evening.
I would choose this hotel again next time I'm in Delhi.

Unexpected delight in the centre of Delhi

Location near train station is brilliant, don't be put of by Paharganj! The rooms are really good, quiet, modern, clean and the bathroom was excellent.
The dining area and equipment was filthy, but the staff were all lovely and helpful.
We never actually got a key for our room, and had to be let in every time we got back. Never found out why but nothing went missing...
Very useful nightstop for New Delhi railway station.

Our room had been changed to the sister hotel next door called the GODWIN GRAND. Hotel staff were friendly, very organized and welcoming even though we arrived in the small hours of the morning. Airport pickup went as planned. Restaurant was very good with lots of freshly cooked choices. Room was clean with a large comfortable bed.

We booked the new hotel but they took us to the old hotel. It's a dirty place. I went to the front desk and asked how much would it cost for taxi to another hotel \"he said it's 300\" the manager heard us talking and he said \"it cost u 500 rupee\". They are cheap they just want your money they don't care about you. The room was very stinky and noisy. The restaurant food was not good. Everything in this hotel is expensive. It's a terrible location full of noise. They are not honest people. Online picture is not even 1% true.

value for money hotel So do not expect gizmos. Anything essential missing they prompt in fixing it.

It was great stay at Godwin Deluxe.. Very good property and one of the best we stayed at Delhi.. Loved the decoration.. The staff at Reception and Restaurant are great. Indian grill restaurant at down is superb for varieties especially tikkkas and biriyani. Memorable stay and will recommend to anyone. Easy access to shopping areas. The road is crowded... But transport easily available. Best among all the nearby hotels.

Was good but sadly no longer.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions but I think this will be my last. The standard of the hotel has decreased significantly. Why do these hotels never repair or replace anything. It use to be a good value hotel but unfortunately no longer.was

Keep the drapes closed, slowest internet in India

Hotel supposedly provided roundtrip return transfer to/from airport. Hotel tried to charge me for stay although prepaid, solved that, on check out and return to airport, hotel explained complimentary transfer free only one way so had to pay for return to airport. Poor customer communication in my opinion. Oh yes, had to keep the drapes closed, not pretty sight outside although room itself was fine. Hotel staff did not appreciate any form of criticism.

Nice hotel - close to the train stations..

I was not provided the airport pick up and they never informed me about this until I phoned them to tell about my flight time. The person who talked me on phone was irritating and he frustrated me by telling that the government had banned the diesel and petrol vehicles hence I have to make my own arrangements to come to the hotel. He never listened to my problems and just disconnected the phone. I was surprised to hear this man and thought that this hotel is not responding ethically to the problems of customers. \"Airport pick up\" was one of the motivating factors for me to book this hotel, and now I was totally disappointed with the response from this man. I managed to come to the hotel and talked to the person at the front desk. There was another gentleman who repeated the same version which I had heard on phone. I had a small argument with this gentleman, and he told me that he will talk to the manager. He later informed me that the hotel will now provide me with a drop off service. Which was fine for me. I THINK CUSTOMERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RULES AND REGULATIONS CHANGED BY THE GOVERNMENT. THEY PAY FOR THE STAY AND EXPECT TO GET ALL THE FACILITIES THAT HAVE BEEN PROMISED IN THE WEBSITES. THE HOTELs ARE RESPONSIBLE TO ADJUST TO THE CHANGED CONTEXT AND CONTINUE THEIR BEST SERVICES.THE CUSTOMERS SHOULD NOT GET FRUSTRATION BECAUSE OF SUCH RESPONSE WHICH I GOT IN THE BEGINNING FROM THE STAFF. It was good that the hotel corrected its response. Thanks..I had a nice stay.

Hotel Godwin Deluxe, New Delhi

Hotel Godwin Deluxe is genuinely good hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are large and clean and the rooftop restaurant is good. The only complaint is the fact that the bathroom did not have any windows or an extractor fan which left the bathroom and consequently the room smelling damp and drain like.

rooms are good, bathroom needs lots of attention,from shower cabin water comes out and whole bathroom gets wet and dirty, during my three days stay, i agave complaints but nobody did any repairing for the same.
better rooms/hotels are available in the same area at same rates!

Calm in the middle of madness!

This Hotel was clean and comfortable and perfect for out two nights in Delhi. We were right in the middle of the New Delhi action and able to get around perfectly well by walking, taking The Metro or grabbing a Tuk Tuk

Good low budget hotel

Its a good low budget hotel .centrally located 5 mins from station and connaught place.

Only stay is good .you will have to go out for lunch and dinner asrates are very expensive.buffet breakfast menu is very limited and not so good.

I recommend only for stay

Worst hotel experience of my life.

The booking was made through Hotels.com when I had clearly mentioned my address as traveling from Meerut which is about 75 kms from this hotel. As I was checking in the person at the reception named NAVEEN saw my passport and virtually threw the passport saying we don't provide rooms to people coming from a radius of 250 kms from New Delhi. I was shocked and when I starting clarifying he said why are you complaining to us, make a complaint to hotels.com through whom you have made your booking. He was virtually shouting at me . Even the bell boy tried to be over smart and bossy with us. After discussing and sorting out with his manager we were shown a very small and compact room fit for just a single person. When again I complained I was shown a bigger room (As we were Two adults and One child) and was told I need to pay 500 Rupees extra if i wanted the bigger room which I agreed to pay. The bathroom in the room had no exhaust fan and all the bad smell from the toilet was coming in the room and we had a horrible, smelly night.
