Great property, close to everything! The only issue I had when we arrived was with a gentleman who wasn’t helpful at all, he wasn’t Japanese! Once a gentleman who was Japanese he explained to me the checking process and told me what to do in the mean time we waited, the rest of the staff was so friendly with my kids and helpful. (Except that guy)

Good enough for single night stay

This hotel is one of the few that has triple rooms. However, according to the hotel, all triple rooms are smoking rooms. We were fortunate to have a room with a window, so we could open the window to air the room even though it was rather cold. The location which is near Dontonbori, is very convenient but the walls of the room must be really thin as I could hear the singing and talking noises from the next room and was kept awake till around 2 a.m.

Nice size room but the toilet stinks.

The location of the hotel is great. Next to one of the best shopping area in Osaka. The size of the room is big by Japan standard. But the bathroom is one of the worst I've been in. A bad smell emanated from the floor drain. Tried covering it with a towel, but the smell was too strong. The location of the toilet bowl was so close to one side of the wall that I had to sit side ways. The handicap handles in the bath tub protruded out of the wall so much that couple times when I reached for the soap I hit my head on it. Wanted to get out of the room as fast as I could the following morning.

Good Hotel close to Dotonbori Area and Namba Subwy

Our hotel was centrally located such that you could make trips to all the major tourist areas with ease.

I assume like most rooms in Japan the rooms are small, with the bathroom being the size of 5' by 4'. our bed was a little springy but overall it was okay. We spent most of our time in and around the city and not so much time in the hotel.

Nice hotel with friendly staff

The hotel is not in the best condition but everything works well and is clean. Staff are friendly and can speak English though not very well. The only sad thing is that I requested for an additional pillow and they said No. I stayed there for 6 nights and I would think they will try to accommodate but they didn't. The one thing that I really like was the shower sponge which they provided free of charge at the counter. The location of the hotel is very close to Dotonburi which of course is excellent.

Located just a couple minutes walk from Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi Districts this hotel is in a prime location. Namba subway, Nankai Namba and JR Namba stations are all within a close walk.

Then only let down was the room. It's old and very tired. The bathroom had a really dirty floor and mould on the shower curtain and walls. The bed and pillow were rock hard. I couldn't get the air conditioning to work so it was hot and stifling in the room.

I don't understand why you have to keep handing the room key when you leave. This is a bit annoying.

All in all this is a budget option. The room had a kettle and a mini-fridge. It was clean and quiet. I guess it's the price to pay for location.

Pretty sweet place. Very centrally located

Pretty nice hotel. The location is amazing. The Namba subway stop is super close by and all of Osaka is easily accessible because of that. All the rooms in the hotel are smoking type, and the amount it smells like smoke is variable (mine was fine, but one of my friends' rooms smelled of smoke). It is also a little hard to find if you don't have google maps or a gps on you.

Cheap but not clean

We were welcomed well and the accommodation was cheap.

The room was dirty however. Mold on the walls, stains on the bed sheets and a weird smell throughout our floor and even in our room. From the outside this place looks great. Once you get up to your floor, it really is something else.

It resembles more closely to a pack packers than a hotel.

Will never stay here again.

Close to everything

Very convenient location! Within 10 minutes walking to Shisaibashi and Dotinbori. There are a lot of eating places in the alley and around the hotel. The room is clean but the bathroom is really small and there's no power outlet in the bathroom for hair dryer. The front desk people are very friendly although they speak limited English.

The bus station of airport shuttle is about 20 min walking distance from the hotel using the underground passage, it's better to take a cab to the station if you have lot of luggages like I do.

Budget hotel near Dotonbori

If you want a hotel that is near Dotonbori, near a train station and is a budget hotel, this can be one of your choices.

This is a few blocks away from the Glico Man, so it is pretty easy to go back to your place if you need to rest or drop off the stuff you bought from the different nearby stores.

The hotel interior felt pretty old but it was well maintained. This hotel offered 2 complimentary bottles of water. Our Tokyo hotel didnt, so this is a plus. Surprisingly the room was big too. So no problem opening your luggage.

Be prepared to leave your room keys when leaving the hotel though. Not sure why they have this policy but it's no big deal.

The people on the front desk were very helpful and it is easy to converse with them in english.

Very pleased with the hotel in terms of space and location. we booked a triple room and paid for an extra child. 3 beds given and room was well cleaned. We requested for non smoking room but it was full.....fortunately room was well ventilated and cleaned that there just wasn't any stench. We usually come back very late and am pleased that you can easily find food to eat even up till 11pm. Namba subway is nearby exit 25..shortwalk of 2 streets to hotel.

Friendly staff with good english. Small western type business room for single traveler. There is a portable air ionizer or purifyer in my room. Bathroom has no smell. No window but has glass door leading to a small balcony. Adequate room temperature. Downside is no english TV program but you have to buy a card on the lobby vending machine.

We stayed at Osaka Teikoku Hotel for 5 nights & the experience is quite positive.
The location is good, it takes us only about 5 minutes to walk to Doutoubori.
The room is clean and tidy, however, the toilet is too small.

The staffs are really nice and helpful. They are always with smile.
They know well about facilities nearby, and they can answer when we inquire.

Everything on this hotel is as good as they describe it. I'll add that the staff is exceptional and the location is good. I think it deserves a 4.9/5 only because it looks a bit old and it's not easy to spot from far away if you don't speak japanese. Get what you pay for.

It did it's job, of being a clean place to sleep. Not too roomy, but that's to be expected in Japan. Fine to find as long as you have a map. Make sure to ask for an extra blanket in winter time. I made the mistake of waiting till I was already in bed, before calling the front desk, only to realise that the staff members that spoke English were off duty during the night shift, and I didn't know the word for blanket, so I gave up on asking for one and just threw my winter jacket on top of the sheets. Enjoyed the tub after walking around all day, and the staff were nice enough to hold my luggage for a bit after I checked out (again- English speaking staff there in the daytime) For the price, it was pretty good. Nice and close to Dontonburi.

Great location for shopping and entertaining area

The hotel is good, the overall experience was good, English speaking staff, very beautiful receptionists, clean and with the things that you need, including a free bottle of water in the room. The only thing that was negative was some kind of strange smell in the toilet, like humidity. The best thing about this hotel is the location, it is just 2 min. by walk from the Dotonbori, insane area for shopping, restaurants and night life, I can't describe how amazing was this area, Minami. Also the hotel is pretty much 5 min by walk from the JR Nanba station, for those with JRP.

We had booked on line one semi-double room. They had only smoking rooms in this hotel. We arrived late in the night and left at 8:30 in the morning. So we didn't really take advantage of the room. But it was clean and enough spacious for my 2 small children (one of 2 and the other 5 years old) and myself. The hotel is located at about 400m from JR Namba station. It was very convenient for us to go there from the station by feet.

Pro: Near both stations, Metro Namba (400m, exit. 25) and JR Namba (500m, exit. 26). Close to dotonbori! You can enjoy shopping and foods surrounding here. The front desk cant speak english, but they are friendly and willing to help. The room size is bigger than standard japanese hotel. Con: Old hotel, our bathroom's light doesn't work, they fixed it after we back from dinner.

Excellent hotel close to the city

I loved the hotel! I went to Japan by myself and this hotel was definitely suited to my needs. The staff were extremely helpful and bent over backwards(not literally) to help me. The hotel itself is very presentable and the room was extremely comfortable.
The hotel is also a 5 minute walk away from the Namba underground and train station, so it's extremely convenient to get to, if you're in the mood for travel.
Similarly, the hotel is a 5 minute walk away from the gorgeous Dontounburi and Shinsaibashi area. Once again, it's extremely convenient if you decide to do some souveneir shopping.
Highly recommended hotel and will be a must if I go to the Osaka region again.

Teikoku Hotel near namba station exit 25 by walking spend about 5 mins.Not very close to namba station's exit as my expected.And the lobby service is okay. They help me to receive 2 package, i deeply appreciate their service.The room space is very enough for 2 people.But when i entry the room first time, i feel a little moist, it will be imporved by using air conditioner. Afterall i think Teikoku Hotel is a nice choice. nice price, nice position, okay surrounding, okay service.

POSITIVE: Great location, with at least one convenient store nearby; safe for a solo female traveler, even late at night; all basic amenities are provided; very clean room and comfy bed; most of the staff I met speak good English and were willing to help. NEGATIVE: Wifi worked well in the lobby but poor signal in the room (e.g. 6th floor). OVERALL: I would recommend it!

2 nights comfy stay at Osaka Teikoku Hotel

The hotel is well located in the heart of Namba, it's so convenient that I could go back to the hotel after one round of shopping to rest and continue my second round of shopping because its just 5 mins walk to the shopping streets and station! ^_^

The room, although not that fantastic looking, is very clean and has all the essentials that one needs ^_^*.

The service is commendable! I lost my towel to the cleaners who probably mistaken for their hotel towel, but the hotel staff got it back for me, nicely washed and ironed! ^_^ They were very sincere in their apology! I am really impressed by their excellent service! :D

This hotel is strategically located in Dotonbori area and Amerikamura. Though the room is small but it has everything you need. Toilet is unexpectedly small. Reception staffs able to converse in english and helpful in guiding direction. We arrived in midnight but no issue at all as they will keep the room.

泊まって良かった

繁華街にあるので夜の騒音を心配しましたが、意外と静かでした。周囲には飲食店も多く立地がよかったです。
部屋に対しては狭いユニットバスなのが少しマイナスに感じました。
ホテルのフロントの方はみなさんとても親切で、外国の宿泊者の方にも丁寧に対応されているお姿は気持ちよかったです。ありがとうございました。
