The beach view was is the distance with several buildings partially obstructing the view. Fresh towels, paper cups and waste baskets emptied each day- bed linens every 3rd day. Breakfast was limited buffet, repetitive hot choices, pancake machine difficult to operate. The breakfast room itself was very nice and comfortable with different seating choices.

We were surprised to have to pay for parking in the Lot.
There was no bench for the smokers outside I saw them standing by a trash bin .It looked like a mess was made by a guest near a trash pail that wasn't cleaned up.
Very helpful friendly staff. Enjoyed the breakfast 😋 I would recommend it and we will go again.

We enjoyed the room and the beds for so comfortable. The only thing we had a problem with was the door to the hotel room would not shut properly so you had to pull or push hard to shut it and the key card for the back door of the property was not working correctly so had to go back in the front door every time. Very clean and relaxing.

The staff was friendly. The room was clean but the toilet and shower ran and leaked. We requested a quiet room but were given a room beside an exit door that was very loud when it closed. Kept us up until midnight our second night. The location was nice and convenient to historic district, beach and fort clinch.

The property has some wear and tear that will probably need repairing eventually, but still clean and functioning. Location was EXCELLENT; the beach was visible and within walking distance from the hotel. Nice park, mini golf, restaurant and gas station all within walking distance.

If you are booking the Surf and Sand for the free hot breakfast, don’t bother. There is a limited selection and when we went this morning the bagels, bread, and croissants were completely wiped out with no replenishment. Other than that, the hotel is very well located being close to the beach, 2 restaurants within walking distance and a short ride into town.

There were restaurants on the beach with live music across the street from the hotel. The updated room had a microwave & fridge. Our room had a partial view of the ocean and beach. Beach view was lovely. Our room was very specious and clean. Our toilet kept running all night and the water pressure was very low in the shower. Didn’t make a huge impact on our stay so it was fine. Nice bar/restaurant with roof top was great and walking to the beach in just a few min was the best.

We were so pleasantly surprised each day at Surf and Sand. The staff went above and beyond each day. Housekeeping was too notch with towel designs and the front desk offered complimentary beach wagon each day. The views of sunrise from our room were spectacular. The coffee was really good and available 24 hours. Proximity to the beach couldn’t be beat. Overall this place far exceeded our expectations given the affordability. We will be back!

We stayed at this hotel the first night we were in town for the car show. It’s well located right across the street from the beach basically. It’s an older hotel but well kept. Beds were comfortable and things were generally clean. We’ve stayed there before and we would probably stay there again. Though they do raise the price significantly for a car week which is annoying.

Probably the most comfortable beds my wife and I have slept on in any hotel room (and we’re in our 70s). Nice selection of channels on the TV. Reception staff was welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was quite good. Highly recommend when staying on Amelia Island.

Location was great just 1 block from the beach, easy walk. It was cold when we went so the pool wasn't used. The beds were comfy BUT there was dog hair all over the couch. We had to ask for a blanket to cover it so we could sit down surprisingly they never offered to clean or change our room. Other than that it was nice.

Room smelled bad and bathroom was stinky. Water leaked from the tub. Rusty hinges, and dirt accumulated in the corners. Overall disgusting cleanliness level.Two queen suite did not feel like a suite at all but rather a small room crammed with furniture. Breakfat quality was terrible, and so was customer service. Do not recommend at all.

I highly recommend Surf and Sand Hotel for many reasons. The location of it couldn't be any better. A brief walk to the beach, gas station and restaurant. The ouside and inside was very nice and clean. The staff was great. Breakfast was great. They have a panvaje maker instead of waffle like alot of hotels.The have a pool but its near the dumpster so we kept getting wiffs of the smell. Other than than it was a great stay.

Where do I start, was charge a $250 incidental fee not mentioned (this was more than the room cost, I have never paid this high of incidental before and stayed in a whole lot better places), charged $12.50 parking fee (again not mentioned), toilet was stopped up and stopped up 3 additional times with just urinating in it, door to room would not close properly (had to lift up on it when closing to get it to lock like it should and stay closed), breakfast was terrible (dehydrated scrambled eggs, stale bread & bagels, watered down OJ, sausage had no flavor and I have no idea what to say about potatoes other than blah). On a positive not bed was comfortable and AC/heat did work. Would I recommend or even stay here again; ABSOLUTELT NOT.

Overall I would say that our stay was good. The hotel was conveniently located for us as we were doing a reenactment at Fort Clinch, so the hotel being right next to that was nice. The parking is good and ample I would say. The room overall was okay, but definitely had something’s that were not great. First, as soon as we got to the room, the door was not easy to open because it was not aligned well so it kept getting stuck and we’d have to really push or pull to open it. Second, the tall lamp in the room had no lampshade. We told the front desk after we arrived to our room, and the young lady said she would get us one, but throughout the stay we never got one. Third, the pull out bed was absolutely disgusting. The legs of the bed were terribly rusted and left stains all over the mattress. The mattress was also very uncomfortable. Oh and you have to go down to the front desk to get the linens for it. Not convenient at all. Lastly, the bathroom is in need of some TLC, specifically the shower area. The shower curtain had an unusual stain on it and the wall near the shower had a rust color type of substance. Also the conditioner was never refilled before we got there and was empty after one shampoo. Would I stay here again? Possibly. Was it horrible, no. But the room we were in needed some TLC.

This hotel was just okay. It was within walking distance from the beach, which was good.
But so many other things were just okay. Breakfast was to best served 7:30-9:30--we went down at 9 everything but rubber eggs was gone. Not even might for cereal. Rooms are only serviced by request. It cost over $12 to park. We have been going to Amelia for over 20 years and never had to pay to park.
Beds were comfortable and it was quiet.
