This place is pretty cool, right on a nice section of the beach. The room was spacious and the beds were comfy. It was not noisy at all during our stay and the pool is pretty big. It's a smaller motel so staff are available and attentive. No charge to park as of this review, which influenced our decision to book with them. (Many competitors are changing guests $15/day to park). No hot breakfast here but good coffee and sweet treats provided in the office during morning hours. Center island location so breakfast is available nearby. Be advised that not all rooms include a microwave so plan accordingly. Nice cold fridge in our room. We will book here again in the future. It exceeded our expectations for the price. Sort of an old school, slightly funky beach vibe which was really relaxing and laid back. We experienced zero problems or issues here. Thumbs up.

the pool was not heated. water was too cold. i knew there was not hot tub, but one would have been nice. also, would have been helpful to have a microwave oven. good supply of ice for drinks and was able to keep medical icepacks cold. being on beach with walk was great.

While a clean and comfortable property, the walk to the beach was difficult for my husband who has minor mobility issues. The continental breakfast was minimal and probably should just have gone unmentioned. We paid a good bit for beach access that could not be used by my husband.

Front desk staff was amazing at both check-in and checkout - so friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. We didn't partake in offered coffee/tea or pastries so can't speak to their quality. We arrived in the dark and left early so can't really speak to beach view. You can sort of see the ocean if you lean out over the side balcony. There was a frayed carpet between bathtub/toilet room and sink area that should be addressed with a threshold. There was an unopened roll of paper towels on the counter - not sure what that's all about! Hotel should address the huge accumulation of dust in the bath exhaust fan.

The Beachside motel is the place to stay if you are vacationing Amelia Island. I have been going there at least once a year, the employees and management will remember you. They don’t have a continental breakfast and that helps with keeping the rooms at an affordable price. If you’re there on vacation the best breakfast is at the Magnolia Cafe anyway. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You will not regret staying here to have the extra money to explore all the Island has to offer.

The weather was awful and the lights were out for hours. Then once the lights came back on, my kids wanted to try to enjoy the pool but they had the gates locked. I asked for one night refund to leave and take my kids home because of not having lights but they denied it. There was no beach view.

What a cute little motel. This place is just as described. An old school motel right on the beach. Keep in mind it is a motel, and amenities are limited. Having said that, the rooms are clean, there is a refrigerator and microwave in the deluxe room, as well at plates and utensils in a little kitchen area with a sink and storage. The beach view is unobstructed. Staff is so friendly! Great location to get most places on Amelia Island. All at a very reasonable price. This was our second stay - we'll be back!

Good value motel in a great location. The appliances all worked. The room was clean aside from a few drops splattered on the ceiling. There's a couple vending machines and free coffee in the morning. Aside from the restaurant across the street, there's not much within close walking distance. I was denied a late checkout (on a Wednesday in March) to use the room for a work conference call. Try for a 2nd floor room; the 1st floor has no privacy and must keep the blinds closed.

What a great little beachside motel! We had a very pleasant check in experience and our room was nice and clean and cool. We did have a bottom floor unit, which was perfect for us to not have to navigate the stairs, but you do not have an actual view of the ocean. This downstairs room was also very noisy from others as they parked right in front of the outside entry doors to the units.
The kitchenette was great to have. The renovations were done tastefully!
It's an amazing little walkout to the beach - we even saw a tortoise laying her eggs in her nest!
The motel is super convenient to shops and restaurants and Putt Putt, however only one restaurant is close enough to walk to - directly across the street!
We would definitely stay again!

There is not one negative thing about this motel that I can say. Location was right on the beach, the room was updated and very clean, the pool was pristine, the snacks and coffee were plentiful and the staff was so friendly and personable. Loved this stay and when we return we will be sure to reserve ahead of time.

We really enjoyed our three nights staying for the first time as this small property on the beach. Hotel management & staff we interacted with were very friendly & helpful, responding quickly to any needs or questions. Although the rooms are basic, amenity wise, ours was quiet, comfortable & clean. We were surprised that the room had a mini fridge, so that was a plus for keeping snacks & bevs on hand. Also, centrally located on A1A, so very convenient for exploring the beaches & parks in the area. About ten minutes from downtown Fernandina Beach, with its nice restaurants, shops & bars. We came for a concert at the recently opened Tigre Island Room, a really nice live music venue downtown on 2nd St. We loved the budget friendly price! I expect to stay again, next time we come to beautiful Amelia Island, hopefully very soon.

Room was very nice and appeared to the been redone recently, very comfortable. Ocean is a short walk beyond the dunes, so we had a great beach walk. Too cool to use the pool but it looked inviting for another day. We actually prefer a place without a \"free\" breakfast and found a fantastic place to eat in Fernandina where there are lots of options.

We arrived on Christmas Day, and staff had cleverly arranged for us to get into our room while they were off; we registered the following morning when they were back in the office. They had left a tin of cookies in the room as a welcome/holiday gift, which was very kind of them.

The room was somewhat basic, but we had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the shower was refreshing, and the room was spotlessly clean.

We ran into a bit of a snag registering the next morning, as my husband went to the Front Office while I finished getting ready. I had made the booking, and his name is different from mine. He was a bit put out by having to produce my ID as well as his (another trip back to the room, not a big deal IMO). Then, although he signed to show he had read and agreed to the rules of the motel, he said they made him listen to them READ them to him, too. That was a bit over the top, we thought. (We are 70+ years old and pretty tame.)

There is a walk directly out to the beach that is great, even in the winter on a mild day. I have since recommended the motel to others twice already, and we would definitely return if back in the area.

I did deduct one star because of the Front Desk experience (I would have only taken off half a star if I could have). While I understand why the innkeepers might reiterate the rules, it negates the favorable impression the cookies made and the motel in general. Perhaps they could consider taking the rules thing down a notch.

Really not a kitchen. Has a sink, microwave and small fridge. Plenty for what we needed. Set back from the ocean a bit, but very short walk to the beach (basically on the beach; didn't have to cross any roads to get there). Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was great. Recommended property.

My grown son's and I spend a few days here and everything was wonderful with the motel. The restaurant across the street wasn't open for breakfast but down the street about 2 miles was a nice place overlooking the ocean. The staff at the motel were nice and pleasant. Our room was clean and spacious enough for the for of us. 10 out of 10 would stay here again.

Every year I come and stay at the Beachside. The hotel is older - no elevator, some rooms do not have a microwave - I don’t mind.
This hotel has got charm and the location is incredible! The rooms are always clean, the grounds are well taken care of and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Everything worked out fine. The beach was within a short walk and could be seen if you sit on the walkway/balcony. Just remember, the older retro motels may not have elevators if you have knee or back problems.Check in was very pleasant with a sweet young lady making sure everything was explained in a friendly manner. Don't recommend - but bridget is great

Bridget in the wrong was an absolute delight, however - the room was not so. It was very damp, the door lock was very minimal, sheets were full of pilling and felt like a used bath towel. I had my own personal fly swatter (bizarre), phone was filled with dirt, the remote was absolutely filthy and full of gunk. I was going to put a chair under the door knob since the lock was so little, chair was too short to do that - so I felt very uneasy most of the night. This wasn't an issue to Bridget, she was wonderful and kind and great, but the facility itself - not very great. I understand this is a motel AND for almost 200 a night - I wasn't anticipating to be in somewhere so yuck. Dirt in the corners of the room - but bathroom appeared clean other than the shower head. I didn't use it, I slept in my clothes on top of the sheets mostly with my hood up. This isn't somewhere I'd recommend to stay - the reviews were certainly deceiving. I cancelled the second night unfortunately and found another hotel nearby.

It was a good place to stay my sister and I felt safe staff was friendly and very helpful, the only downside is you could smoke anywhere on property except in your rooms you could even by your doors outside , being we don’t smoke it was a turn off when you walk outside and many are smoking by there doors
