We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. Our king room on the first floor was very comfortable, spotless, had a large bathroom, and even a little back deck. The historic property was beautifully restored and clearly very well cared for by innkeeper Veronica and her team. Veronica's gourmet breakfasts were a huge treat, different every morning, and served with attention to every detail in the elegant dining room. Veronica was happy to share suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area. And we took advantage of 2 of her bikes to trek to the beach and Fort Clinch.

Truly Amazing

As part of a four week tour of SE USA from the UK this was definitely a highlight. It annoys me intensely when people say they give 110% or 11/10 but, in truth, and if I could, both of these measures would apply to Williams House.

Veronica truly does give 100% in her commitment to providing the opportunity for a marvelous stay.

The rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully presented and deserve the 10/10 unequivocally. Breakfast was a total delight and as far removed from the all-too-common resort to plastic or styrofoam either in total or by degree as one could get. The food itself was both imaginative and beautifully prepared and presented.

Add in the fantastic location, a very short walk to old town Amelia Island, and it simply could not be better.

I would very much like to think that we will return in the not too distant future and, if you can, you should go too!

If you don't enjoy it as a fantastic experience I will be 200% amazed.

House was beautiful and in a perfect area; walking distance from downtown shops and restaurants. When we arrived, we had to park on the street because there was not enough guest parking. We also did not get the room we were advertised when we booked it on Expedia but I assume this was Expedia's fault for not updating the photos and room description. We got a room outside of the main house (Island Getaway), which is not what was advertised to us. The owner was not very friendly and after we left she accused me of smoking in the room and also stated I smelt like cigarettes while she was serving me breakfast in the main house the morning before we left. The crazy thing is, I don't smoke so I found her comment to be extremely rude and offensive as she automatically accused me and assumed I was a smoker. For the price we paid and not having stayed in the actual house and being accused of smoking... I honestly wouldn't recommend staying here. We had a better experience at all of the shops and restaurants and could've booked a cheaper room on the beach. Not what we expected and very disappointed in the hospitality.

Bed was very uncomfortable. I spoke with the owner the next day after 1 night and explained how the bed was very uncomfortable and that my husband and I did not sleep. Due to that we needed to cancel the rest of our stay. We ended staying at the Williams House due to non-refundable for the few nights.

Wow! Words cannot describe how wonderful our stay at Williams House was. We stayed in the Isle of Santa Maria room. It was tastefully decorated Victorian style - with my favorite - cherub paintings! The beautiful old trees surrounding the property were so very majestic. We enjoyed sitting on the wrap around balcony enjoying the greenery.

We were greeted by the friendly owner Veronica who has gone out of her way to provide little touches and details.

Here were some of the highlights that made this stay better than a 5 star hotel:

- freshly baked cookies everyday
- wine social hour
- tasteful décor
- great toiletries
- bathrobes and beach towels
- two showerheads
- soft toilet paper
- delicious creative 2 course breakfasts served in their artful dining room
- good quality beach chairs, umbrellas and bikes provided for the beach
- a refrigerator and microwave
- Keurig, k-cups and tea bags provided
- plenty of water bottles
- even provided choice of different pillows!

Amazing! Plus it's conveniently located - just 5 minutes from the beach on one side and the marina and shops on the other side.

We really enjoyed our romantic getaway. It was also fun meeting other guests too during the wine social hour and at breakfast.

Thank you for making our first visit to Amelia Island so very special.

We'll definitely be back!

The property is beautiful. Nestled off the downtown area on a quiet street, but close enough to easily stroll to. The house is pre Civil War construction and mostly in its original state with all the modern comforts. The attention to detail was exceptional. We booked at the Williams House for a nice weekend away to relax and take in the charm of Old Florida, and our stay made the trip. We were warmly greeted by Veronica, oriented to the BnB and offered great tips for exploring near by. The house is beautiful and set in a quite area, but close and easy to get to nearby attractions. The house even offers bikes for guest use which was great for extra sightseeing as well. Our room was just as charming as the rest of the house and immaculately clean. Saving the best for last, the lovely breakfast served every morning by Veronica and staff was worth a return on its own. Great quality and you can tell it’s prepared with love. If back in the area I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to any friend.

Very quaint property, centrally located in downtown but set back from the \"busy\" part. The Emma Suite was a nice size, beachy type of decor..although the description says separate living room...it is not separated by a door..just a half wall so not private. A lovely hot breakfast served every morning at 8.30..different every day. The owner Veronica is warm, friendly and welcoming. A nice getaway. There is cheese and wine offering around 5pm but we did not partake.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, immaculate, historic home, in the Fernandina Beach downtown district, with excellent restaurants and shops within walking distance. Our stay was over Valentine’s Day Weekend, the house was charmingly decorated and exuded warmth. Loved the lit fireplaces in the living room and dining room. We stayed in the Princess Amelia Room which has its own fireplace, and walk in shower in the bathroom. Room was very comfortable, on the 2nd floor of the main house, with a coffee station in the hallway ready to go for the early morning risers. From that hallway there is access to the 2nd floor balcony.
Veronica, the proprietor, has fairly recently acquired this amazing home, and is the most gracious, welcoming host. The breakfasts were delicious and beautiful. Veronica accommodated my odd dislike of bacon/sausage (I know- it’s odd...), and graciously made the substitutions. Breakfast was done in two seatings, to enable social distancing during Covid. We selected the 8am earlier time, and I believe there was a 9am (maybe 9:30am) time. There was a happy hour from 5p-6p, with complimentary wine and charming company. There is reserved on the street parking, which was always available as we came and went – no issues and very convenient. We are looking forward to visiting again.

The Williams House was, by far, the highlight of our trip to Amelia Island. What a gorgeous property! The room was stellar...clean, unique, and roomy but cozy. Happy hour was a lovely touch, and the breakfast meals AMAZING. Chris and Maria are the most gracious, friendly people we’ve met in a long time.
One thing not to miss is listening to Maria tell the history of the house. Her narration shows how much she and Chris love this place. And that love shows in all the special touches around the property.
I would definitely recommend this beautiful Bed & Breakfast to family, friends, and anyone who wants to experience good old fashioned hospitality and local charm.

A great house, but quirky.

It is a very classic New Orleans type house with excellent space and decor. Great food plus wine at 5pm. Gracious host, helpful etc.
Our room unfortunately had a bathroom down the hallway and down a step. It is pvt., so you get a key, a robe, etc. But I must say it is odd, and had I known that by listing it as such; “King size bed, private bathroom,” (that the coma meant down the hall), I would not have stayed there at $250.00 a night after taxes.

The proprietors are very pleasant and outgoing and focused on making their guest comfortable. The morning meal was excellent. Bedroom was spacious. The house has been upgraded with new HVAC and on demand water for showers etc. As well the property is convenient distance to the Amelia Island state park and the center of the Historic District.

Historic charming B&B place

After extensive research, we choose the Williams House in Fernandina Beach and stayed for one week, January 15 thru 22, 2017. Since this was our first experience of B&B, we were somewhat apprehensive before arriving there. But our worry promptly vanished and enjoyed an exotic atmosphere and wonderful treatment which were clearly much different from the regular hotels.

The building and our room (Chloe's Garden Room) are filled with beautiful old charm and elegance, Thus we felt visiting the past time mansion as guests! Accommodation was comfortable and clean throughout. The breakfast services were equally elegant - using fancy china and napkins. Food was nicely prepared - not like buffet type at the hotels.

The location of the Williams House is centrally situated and most of the important historic places on the Fernandina Beach are within 10 blocks. Also many boutique shops and excellent restaurants are located in the same area. Thus we had amply opportunities to dine out daily to different cuisines - truly delightful!

My husband and I spent a night in this beautiful b&B the rooms are beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. The best part of the stay were are host Byron about Deborah. My review was rejected without exact explanation, so this one will be much shorter. To Eat Breakfast you must wait till nine but not after ten which in my view ruins your morning. Our room was not in the main house shown but one that borders on disrepair. The owners are trying to sell and clearly stop putting money into the property.

Historic B & B Close to the Harbor

I had called to verify our reservation before I left on the drive. I was told my name was not in the books, even though I had booked through Expedia. I had to call Expedia and they contacted the B&B. This sadly set the pace.

Even though I had spoken to the innkeepers on the phone prior to arrival and told them the exact time I was to arrive (30 minutes out), I still had to stand outside with my bags and call them to let me in, since the entryway was key coded. The breakfasts were fine, however when our plates were taken away, they were \"rated\" based on how much of the food we ate. You would either receive a \"gold star\" for finishing all of your food or a \"silver star\" if food was still left on your plate. I found this to be incredibly patronizing, and if you didn't eat something they provided, you were questioned.

We stayed in Chloe's Garden Room; a strong mold/musty smell hits you the second you walk in. After further investigation, we realized it was the large dresser in the room that smelled. The queen bed was comfortable and everything seemed quite clean, even though we woke up to a large roach the bathroom the next morning. There is only a window unit for AC and it points directly at the bed. The directional paddles are broken so you couldn't really change where the airflow went. It didn't bother my partner, but I ended up sleeping with a hand towel over my face because it was drying out my eyes.

A positive was the room was very quiet.

Fabulous stay at Historic Williams House

Wonderful hospitality by Byron and Deborah at Williams House. Every detail felt personal. We felt like we were guests in a friend's home. Our room was amazing - private with a large en-suite bathroom with a double Jacuzzi tub. We took the complimentary bikes out for a spin down to the nearby beach. The ride to the Fort was really beautiful and the picnic lunch Deborah prepared for us was delicious! Williams House is located in such a convenient spot - short walking distance from shops and wonderful restaurants in the historic district. Loved our stay - we will return!

Wonderful Girls' Weekend!

My mom, sister and I had a wonderful weekend at the Williams House. Byron and Deborah were incredible hosts with a wealth of knowledge for us about the island, places to eat and things to do. They arranged a carriage ride for us through the historic district which was relaxing and extremely interesting! Aside from making dining recommendations for us, they made us a reservation at Le Clos, a French restaurant that is hard to get reservations for. We were hesitant as the food genre is not one we normally gravitate towards. After much discussion and assurance from both Deborah and Byron as to the quality of the food and variety of menu we went and enjoyed an incredible meal! The rooms were clean, larger than expected, and interesting to discover (all of the decor). The house as a whole was incredibly clean and well-maintained. Last, the breakfast, oh, the incredible home-cooked breakfasts....what more is there to say...I wanted EVERY recipe for every meal they made, just wonderful! Would HIGHLY recommend a stay, and hope to return again myself!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Williams House. Our room was spacious, the spa tub divine, and our bed very comfortable. The only dissapointment was in breakfast. Most B&B's have at least 2 options to choose, there was only one and nothing else. The grand breakfast is part of the B&B experience and we felt that was missing from the value in the price paid.

a wonderful anniversary

My husband and I came to celebrate our first anniversary. I loved the room. It was private, clean, nicely decorated, and had a wonderfully warm fireplace. It was a cold weekend. The owners were very hospitable and we enjoyed the wine hour hanging out in the parlor of the main house with them and other guests. The breakfasts were wonderful and I noticed they were willing to accommodate special diets easily. It was a great location. It was easy to walk to historic downtown where we enjoyed the farmers market, good restaurants and wandering around. It was close enough to ride our bikes to the beach. Definitely a wonderful place to stay!!

Great getaway

Wonderful experience!

We had a wonderful weekend at the Williams House. Our room was immaculate and decorated beautifully. The owners were delightful and could not have been more welcoming. Breakfast was better than fine restaurants I have been to, not your typical continental breakfast. Bicycles were available to ride through town and local information was shared upon arrival. Perfectly located to walk to anything.

Our best B&B experience

We've been to many B&B's and this is by far the best. Beautiful facility, gracious, knowledgable and friendly hosts, sinfully delicious breakfasts, what more could we ask. Our room was delightful and even provided a hot tub on a private veranda - complete with terrycloth robes. Byron and Deborah could not have been more helpful with local information about restaurants, local attractions, tours and local history. Truly a memorable experience.

Wonderful Experience

Amelia Island Williams House was in one word...Wonderful. The owners, Byron and Deborah were so accommodating as and helpful. the Staff was great as well. Our new furry friend Cinnamon was just the cutest cat and so cuddly. The breakfast was amazing. I loved how they used beautiful china for breakfast. The Interior as well as the exterior of the house is so grand and beautiful. The mixture of antiques and modern furniture is perfect. There is so much to love about this house I could write forever. We are definitely going back for another visit and I highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Amelia Island!

Romantic weekend at the Williams House

My girlfriend and I visited the Williams House on Amelia Island for a romantic get away weekend. We have stayed at many B&B's, but we have to say that Deborah, Byron and their staff are excellent! It is self evident that they really enjoy being hosts and interacting with their guests. They had many great recommendations on things to do, places to go and restaurants to eat at on the island. They arranged for champagne and strawberries in our room upon our arrival, and then a picnic lunch and a carriage ride around the island with an excellent dining experience one evening. The food and accommodations are first rate! Highly recommend staying at the Williams House! If you go, don't forget to say hello to Cinnamon the house cat!

AMAZING & MAGICAL PLACE

The Williams house is absolutely perfect. With the large wrap around porches (up & downstairs) a friendly feline named Cinnamon that greets you, beautiful original wood work inside, amazingly romantic room (smuglers cove), and walking distance to everything you could possibly need...who could ask for more?!? I highly recommend this place! Take advantage of their bikes & go to the beach, as well as Ft. Clinch park. Both are so close & very beautiful. I WILL be back! :) xo

Great B&B to stay at in Amelia Island

We are an Australia couple travelling through the southern states of the US and we really enjoyed our stay and the wonderful people we met over the breakfast table It is in easy walking distance to the town. We stayed in Hearthstone House next door that has no reception rooms and poor wifi which was a bit disappointing.

We spent two nights here on the recommendation of friends, and we were not disappointed. The service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and friendliness can't be beat and being in a quiet neighborhood so close to downtown was a huge plus. We will definitely recommend this to others.

The best stay ever.

The pictures are less than the real thing. The grounds are wonderful and the rooms are dynamite. l was there for the wedding of my daughter and the staff surly knows how to do. Our guess were more than pleased and my family was very impressed.

Amelia Island Get Away

Byron and Deborah welcome you to their beautiful B & B on Amelia Island. They are wonderful hosts and provide you with many amenities. You can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening and meet other guests and then walk a couple blocks to the downtown historic area that has an array of wonderful restaurants. Breakfasts are decadent with delicious offerings made by Deborah. We plan to return.

Just what we needed

My wife and I were hoping to spend a week in a place with warm weather (warmer than 11 degree NY city), a slower pace, natural beauty and good eats. We found it all on Amelia Island, FL and at the marvelous Amelia Island Williams House. Hosts Deborah and Byron provide all the comforts -- lovely rooms, delicious breakfasts, a convivial wine hour, bicycles -- at their wonderful B&B. I highly recommend a stay at the Williams House and try to get the Smuggler's Cove room with its life-saving (after bicycle rides) hot tub! Outstanding in every respect.

What a wonderful Christmas

My husband and I stayed at the Amelia Island Williams House as a combination mini-honeymoon and Christmas getaway. We could not have picked a more perfect place! The property and house are very very well maintained and were decorated beautifully for the Christmas season. Byron & Deborah were wonderful hosts and made sure that all needs were met. Our favorite part of the day was going down to breakfast to see what amazing creation Deborah came up with that morning - everything was scrumptious! We will definitely visit again, without a doubt!

Wonderful Peaceful Getaway

My husband and I had such a GREAT time at the Amelia Island Williams House. We desperately needed a vacation and we picked the perfect place. The bed & breakfast is GORGEOUS, especially at Christmas. Deborah really goes over the top with the decorations. We had a Christmas tree in our room that was decorated to the nines to coordinate with everything in the room. I think there was a bow on everything and goodie bag full of delicious homemade treats. The parlor and dining room had huge garlands above the doorways and a beautiful tree filled with ornaments.

Breakfast was DELICIOUS!! Deborah cooks everything herself and you will not be disappointed. Strawberry Croisants, 3 Cheese Casserole, and one of my favorites Blueberry Strata. You will not go hungry.

The Fernandina Beach area is so nice. We rode bikes to the beach and the marina, ate lunch at the Marina restaurant followed by ice cream at Fantastic Fudge.

If you haven't been to the Amelia Island Williams House you need to go. You won't be sorry.

Christmas decorations and cozy room were wonderful. If the name was just bed.....it would have been great. But when it is advertised as a bed and breakfast, the breakfast was disappointing... The egg dish was good but I can toast a piece of bread at home. Home-made bread and pastries would have made a big difference.

Lovely B&B and supports Veterans

We stayed over Veterans Day weekend and had a delightful time at the Amelia Island Williams House and Fernandina Beach. We had great recommendations for places to eat dinner from our host Byron and we loved our room. The morning breakfasts were delicious. I especially enjoyed the strawberry soup and creme brulee french toast bake. We wanted to acknowledge that the Amelia Island Williams House offered a special for military over Veterans Day weekend and we are very appreciative of that! Would love to visit again.
