The Hotel Fars Hatt, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western is located in the center of Kungalv just along the Nordre River with a wonderful view of the Bohus Fortress just a few bends in the road from the sea and 15 minutes north of Gothenburg. The hotel dates back to 1864 and over the years it has become a natural meeting place for the residents of Kungalv as well as business travelers and conference guests.
In addition to our pleasant conference rooms, a good night's sleep and delicious meals, we also offer live music, dancing and entertainment on selected weekends. As our guest, you will always have access to free parking, free Internet and the use of our relaxation area with a gym, billiards and sauna.

I booked a Grand Double room for 4 nights and on arrival I paid the full fee as requested.
When we got to the room it was not a Grand Double and frankly it was disgusting. (Pics are available). We approach the hotel reception but there was no other room available.
I have requested a refund/ compensation from hotels.com and despite 3 days of effort the company have had no response from the hotel.
I want this resolved and I won't go away until it had been sorted out. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in in 50 yrs.

Ett totalt haveri! Jag bodde här för ett par år sedan och var nöjd. Nu fick jag ett rum i en av sidobyggnaderna som var sunkigt! Det var skräpigt och ofixat runt huset. Runt hela hotellet! Ogräs och oklippta gräsmattor. Ingen tillgång till uteserveringens platser. Flaskor och skräp överallt. Frukosten väldigt enkel och torftig. På kvällen var det en stackars tjej som bemannade reception, bar OCH kök! Och detta var när hotellet var fullbokat då det var Gothiavecka!!

Så fint och mysigt hotell. Fina pooler, trevlig personal, fin bastu och en härlig spa-upplevelse. Oavsett om du reser med familjen eller kommer hit på smekmånad så kommer du att få en kanonupplevelse som sent ska glömmas.
Du kan bara unna dig lite vardagslyx i deras spa eller slappa vid poolen med familjen. På kvällen kan barnen roa sig vid biljardbordet medan de vuxna svänger sina lurviga på dansgolvet.
På morgonen så skäms man bort med en riktigt fin buffé så man är redo för dagens aktiviteter.
Här finns det verkligen något för alla och jag har redan börjat planera nästa besök!

Breakfast was terrible, second day we skipped it and bought in another place. Service was worse with only one person working with both checkins/checkouts AND serving drinks, took me 15 min in average to get a beer. And even the sortiment was bad. And the only thing that was beautiful was closed which was the terrace. im sorry to tell but it was a total disaster

You get what you pay for. Small old room. No one to ask things. The parking was so small that I have to park in a public parking and pay for it. The scrambled eggs was very salty, the sausage was more like boiled than fried and there were no cream to the pancakes.

They do allow pets but they do charge about half the price of your stay on top of what you paid as a pet fee. The staff is really rude the food is not good and if you stay for an extended time they still don't offer clean towels or room cleaning so be prepared to buy your own cleaning supplies and do your own laundry. The location is pretty nice though.

This staty was like boarding a time machine - to the 50:s.

The only modern stuff was the flat-TV, electronic door lock, thermostat shower valve and fire alarm.
The toilet was the smallest I've seen, max 4 m2 meter.
Not to mention the breakfast; the poorest ever experienced, in a Swedish hotel, that otherwise normally have the most comprehensive breakfast repertoire.
But this; dry bread of one kind, not much to put on the bread, not the typical Swedish sour milk, cold eggs.

Ett slitet hotell men vårt rum var ok. Vi kom sent vid midnatt entré dörren var olåst receptionen obemannad men personal svarade snabbt på telefon och hjälpte oss att checka in jag kände mig lite otrygg det luktade rök och var mörkt men rummet var ok och vi sov gott. Frukosten var torftig inte mycket att välja på men det var ett lågt pris på hotellet.

Begge værelser var ikke klargjorte. Vi fik så 2 nye. Gammelt og slidt. Maden så ikke spændende ud så vi spiste ude. Bruseren kunne ikke hænges op.
Eneste positive var pigen i receptionen. Hun var super sød, kæmpede bravt med receptionen, lave mad, passe baren og generelt maintenance i hotellet. Stakkels pige. Endte med vi ordnede et løbende toilet på et af værelserne da hun var helt i panik. Men hun kæmpede for det.

Bodd her før. Fin beliggenhet med nærhet til buss (hvis du ikke vil kjøre inn i Gøteborg), Bohus festning og koselige spisesteder. Badet har dusjforheng, som klistrer seg til deg når du dusjer. Gode senger, men knirker. 4 kanaler på tv. Dårlig utvalg på frokosten og fylte ikke godt nok på (gikk bl. a helt tom for brød). Hår ligger igjen på rommet fra tidligere gjester og hotellet fremstår som slitt.

Needed a one night stay on a drive from Denmark to Norway and found this hotel on the internet. Hotel is worn down and not taken care of for quite some time. We saw fungus growing in the shower of the first room and made a call (no people in the reception!) - got a new room no questions asked - this was a little better (there was a bath tub) but no curtains at the window. Beds were clean, but the breakfast was not exactly inspiring. Kungälv seems to be a very nice place though and we had dinner at the italian restaurant nearby (Il Trulli) - this was nice.

Vi fick ett bättre rum men det luktade avlopp på badrummet så det gick inte att vara där med stängd dörr. Frukosten var jättedålig både utbudet och det som serverades, brödet var torrt och hårt och kaffet smakade bränt usch! Sedan måste jag säga att personalen var trevliga och vi fick hjälp snabbt när vi måste byta rum. Badrummen borde renoveras, städningen skulle vara bättre och frukosten annars ligger hotellet väldigt fint, så synd på allt annat.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Hotel Fars Hatt was unacceptable. The room was filthy from the moment I arrived — dust everywhere, strange stains on the carpet, and visible marks and smudges on the walls that looked like they had been ignored for years. It didn’t feel properly cleaned at all.
To make matters worse, the hotel looked nothing like the photos online. What was shown as a bright, inviting place turned out to be dull, worn-out, and neglected. Even the pool was empty and filled with , making it unusable and just adding to the overall feeling of dirtiness and poor maintenance.
The general upkeep of the hotel was poor, and it gave the impression that cleanliness and guest experience are simply not a priority here. For the price, I expected at least basic hygiene and honesty in presentation, but this was far below standard.
I will not be returning, and I can’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, or well-kept stay.
