Front desk staff seem unable to crack a smile or exude much pleasure in providing a welcoming experience.

The rooms are definitely in need of some remodeling/updating. We had a room for 3 people/3 nights. We had 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel, 1 floor mat. We asked for an extra towel and wash cloths. “Boutique” Hotel doesn’t have any.

Beds are made with a flat sheet. There were 2 blankets on the makeshift closet rack for us to make the bed.

The room really lacks any comfort and the staff doesn’t do any work to prepare the room for how ever many guest there are.

The waiters are really the shinning star of the hotel. There were a few that were very friendly and even smiled. The food was delicious and we enjoyed each meal. There are no restaurants to venture out to aside from the hotel really.

Upon our leaving ( on a Friday) there seemed to be the lady manager in duty to get ready for the weekenders. She stood in the dining area arms crossed again couldn’t manage even the smallest warm greeting. She would have different staff come to her for adjustments needed on whatever.

The real obscene part is that the hotel charges for WiFi daily and for each device you want WiFi for. This is ridiculous at over 250.00 usd per night.

Front desk really should have change to break larger bills as the entire staff is being tipped…

Friendlier staff and real amenities should be provided. Maybe even a massage booking available?

terrible, por lo que cobran uno espera otra cosa, para empezar me toco un dia lluvioso y el lobby y el restaurante se gotean por todos lados no solo una gotera,que pena , que imagen dan a los extranjeros que son la gran mayoria , la camioneta que te lleva al edificio que te toque tu habitacion tambien se gotea, el lobby del otro edificio tambien se gotea , en serio no me gusta dar malas resenas pero aqui ni como ayudarles,
la habitacion parece de un hotel de 1 estrella , la comida en restaurante no es ala carta sino lo que hay comes,y te sientan en la mesa con mas personas,
el colmo te cobran 50 pesos por acceso a internet por persona,
en general muy mala experiencia ,no recomiendo este hotel , si te gusta por las vistas ve y tomate un drink en el lobby lleva impermiable por si esta lloviendo y vete a otro lado a hospedarte.
en el parque donde esta el teleferico puedes comer mucho mejor y tienes las mismas vistas.

repito que mala impresion dan a todos los que llegamos ahi y sobre todo a tanto extranjero ,no estan al nivel del chepe , hechan a perder la experiencia de tan bonito tren y paisajes.

It is a nice property from which you can admire barrancas de cobre from your room and they offer tours, bar and restaurant which is convenient. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with a waiter (Victor) who was very unprofessional and made our stayed sour and unpleasant. You can tell this guy is a bully and homophonic, even I left a note on my bill stating who disrespectful he was by his comments, I tried to talk to the manager but was not on site, just got a hold from the waiters captain and he even admitted they have behavior problems with this person. Which it irritated me more by the fact he is still out there in this industry bullying customers and being disrespectful when his only job is to deliver a customer service. I don’t do this to get attention, I am doing this in behalf future customers. Since it will be very unlike for me to return to this place. The rest of the crew was fantastic the tour guys are awesome Leo and Uri.

The prices for dinner- they serve family style- is not worth the price. I found a piece of metal in my soup and another ocasión, they ran out of the menu item and we were given chicken instead of steak.

The transportation from the hotel to the various sites, such as the “parque “ was expensive for a 6 minute drive. I won’t return under this conditions.

The views are outstanding! The staff especially the young lady at the recepcion, Fernando and Luis at the bar. The food was good. The transportation from hotel and to the train was very convenient. The very unfortunate issue was that there was no water for some hours at night! Other than that it was a great stay!

The stay was fantastic, with clean rooms and amazing views. The disappointment was our dining experience, the portions where ridiculously small and they served me a raw piece of chicken. The plate literally came with a side of vegetables that consisted of two cauliflower pieces. DO NOT PURCHASE THE FOOD BOARD!! You will not get your money's worth.

Check In was great, the place was very comfortable with a great view. dinner was absolutely unacceptable. Seating time was 8:30 we did not get seated until 9:20, the soup was cold, the meat under cooked, and we did not receive desert. However, the breakfast meal was better.

After more than 25 years not going back to Las Barrancas del Cobre , we went this April and stayed at the Mirador Hotel.
What a great experience, we were surprised by the service, the number of activities available for the guests, and last but not least, the food was amazing.
This first night we attended a wine tasting with a great view of the Urique Canyon; the following day went to the park and hiked in the evening with Martin.
On our last day we went hiking at 6 am to see the sun come out, it was an awesome experience.
The staff at the hotel are very helpful and kind.
We will go back !!!

Apparently the best hotel in the area (too expensive for the service you will get) i travel a lot around the world and believe me this is more like a two star hotel for American standards, now the views are great, unfortunately people that work there need to be train in hospitality. They treat you like you are doing them a favor. We arrived with my family and the welcome to the location was no good from the train station to the hotel, the views is the only good thing going for the hotel. At check in terrible service, at the restaurant terrible service, i will give you an example: we ordered bbq wings for my son and they made buffalo wings, i told them about it and they literally went to the kitchen wash the wings and pour bbq on top I showed them the difference and tried them to make sure and they were buffalo still with bbq (we are paying a good amount of money, they should at least be honest about it) when I complained the lady said: “I will let them know in the kitchen and took like an hour for the wings to arrived”. The following night we sat for dinner and we were not assigned a waiter so we waited close to an hour to have dinner, until we complained they actually help us but then it took forever with cold soups, we did a few activities with them (decent) they have signs about masks but the protocol is not followed by them (this is a safety issue, I do not mind paying as long as it is safe) when we complained at the front desk (they thought I was a tour guide)

The views are like no other. You will fall in love and that alone will have you coming back. The only issue was internet. It is not free and you have to pay extra for access. Not only that but it only works in the lobby. Internet is a universal amenity that comes with the hotel stay, not quite sure why this hotel charges extra for it.

Let me just start off by saying that this hotel probably has the best possible view to the canyon in the entire area. It’s a beautiful location to say the least.

However, there are a few things that were big let downs. First, when we checked-in, they put us in a room located on the top location of the property. This location is so far away that requires a shuttle to take you. Instead of having a RFID card as a key, it had a regular old key, which by the way they only give you one copy. When we got to that room, we noticed the patio furniture was different and pretty low quality. It was also missing a patio center table which all the other rooms had. The biggest let down was a tree that literally blocked the view to the canyon. After noticing all of that, I immediately called the front desk and asked to be moved. Luckily they did and they put us in the lower area where the rooms actually looked like the ones in the pictures.

Other drawbacks include, no phone in the room. No WiFi in the rooms (btw, cell phone Internet is nonexistent or very slow in most areas). No room service. No iron (but you can ask for one). Also, if you choose not to include all 3 meals with your reservation, you won’t have anywhere to eat since the only restaurant there is not a traditional restaurant with an a la carte menu. They have a set 3-course menu every day and set hours. You’ll end up having to pay for any meals you consume anyways since there isn’t any other eateries closed by either.

One very important thing you must know about the hotel. If you don’t get ur meals in a package, you will be paying $20 for brakfast. $25 for lunch and dimmer. That’s $70 a day per person(about). 😱 What did you say? You will eat somewhere else. Ha! Ur in the middle of nowhere, GOOD LUCK! And don’t think about being a 1 minute late to any of ur meals. They will not feed you.

The views from every room are stunning. The main lounge\ bar area is cosy and rustic (in a good way). The beds were very comfortable and each room has a balcony.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. They offered tours to the adventure park.
There was a bottle of water in the rooms for purchase, instead I would suggest they put a container of the filtered water they served at meals in your room, save using more plastic bottles .
Would also suggest the hotel could provide a map of the many trails you could walk along, including a short walk to the adventure park, there is really no need to take the bus for most people.

Great views from the balcony of the canyons, but felt trapped at night. Once you stay at the hotel you are almost forced to dinner there since theres no other restaurants nearby. The menu options consist of one choice also and at $23 a plate it sucks. The hotel is nice, up next to the edge of the canyon. The highlight of the trip, meeting Horacio! A local native and tour guide; what a pleasure to hike with him and listen to his tales.

The rooms are nice, avoid the room we got (#37), it was next to the bar and you could hear the crowed. The hotel charges you a lot for the views, but its not reflected in properly training staff or their wages.

Dont want to bash the hotel, its probably the nicest hotel in the area. Just expect to pay that price when it comes to drinks and food since its the only option available and the hotel knows it too.

The views from the rooms are spectacular, and these really cannot be bettered. However, they live on the view, and are parsimomious with othr things. For example, despite this being the most expensive hotel on our trip, they wre the onlynones who charged for wifi and expected you to pay for water. The food was OK, but we stayed 3 nights and dinner on night was exactly the same as on the 1st night. The meals are on communal tables - no choice of whre to sit, as thre are names on places. Your plate is taken away immediatly you have finishd, ans sometimes before! It all seems a bit rushed.

Do not make me wrong. Barrancas de Cobre is magic. Is a must in your lifetime. Unfortunately, Balderrama’s hotels (this property among others) abuse. The food is not good and it is EXPENSIVE!! There is no other place to grt lunch/dinner. The prices are equal for adults or kids. The rooms are very basic. You won’t find anything superior or up to the price you are paying (which is not cheap at all).
The views are AMAZING and the sunrise is a MUST SEE. The Raramuris are terrific (specifically Martin). There is a lot to learn.
Overall, Barrancas is impressive and you should go. Just, do not expect too much (for this hotel) and save some money to pay more for less (in this hotel)

It’s a beautiful hotel with wonderful views, but honestly they are completely relying on that. For what they are charging, the customer service should be way better, they should have a pool or jacuzzi, all the patio furniture in the rooms should be uniform (I had two uncomfortable chairs you might fine in a public office). The prices are exorbitant for what you get. You can’t eat other than at established times, as in you can’t even order a snack. They were talking about making a boutique hotel upstairs with a pool... I thought this WAS a boutique hotel. It’s absurd to think they want to change more than what they already do. Get it together and offer a great experience for your guests that correlates to what they’re shelling out to be there.

The stunning views from your room is the only reason to stay here. The beds are comfortable and the shower hot but the heaters are so noisy that you can’t have them on while you sleep. The meals are actually better than many reviews suggest but the dining room @ breakfast time is chaotic... no cutlery, glasses, cups or hot water. Ridiculous charge for wifi that doesn’t work well and markups for drinks etc...gouging at its best had to pay for a coffee cup for hot water!!! Don’t let them put you up in the upper part of the hotel or ask for a reduction in your price if they do.

The facility and room were beautiful, as is the view. Appreciated the balcony over the canyon! It was expensive, but we planned for that. Our complaints would be the only option memory foam pillow that was unfamiliar and broke your neck. We expected a decent meal for nearly 500 pesos, plunked our money down and got pork bellies that were 1/2 fat and awful but a mercifully small portion, soupy mashed potatoes, a chunk of steamed carrot and green squash. The best part was a great piece of chocolate cake and the efficient wait staff.

Very disappointed. At check in we were told we would be in one room for the night and moved in the morning even though we had reservations. Restaurant really isn't, there is no meal choice. Everyone is served whatever is prepared. Staff is indifferent since there is nowhere else to go. Wouldn't stay here again.

Breath taking views. The location is a little hard to find. Immaculate clean. Breakfast buffet is great. The hotel in itself is very basic. No pool or things to do other than hike and watch the sunset. They tried to sell us dinner for about $25 per person. We drove to where the train arrives and had much cheaper food (the vendors pick up around 4:30 - 5:00 pm). The quality of their breakfast was good, I assume dinner is the same, however we only stay one night. I would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arrives.

Breathtaking views and convenient tours

Breathtaking views in your own balcony. We stayed only 1 day here and 1 day at Creel, but now I would rather to stay both nights at this hotel and just make a day trip to Creel highlights.

The hotel offers a number of tours at a fair price, they are designed to make it to the highlights and adjusted to the train schedule, however I would recommend to spend more than 24 hours here, it is the most important part of the trip anyway. If you must stay only one day, I would advise you investigate beforehand the type of activities to chose wisely.

The downsides are inherent to the Divisadero city facilities such as poor mobile/wifi signal, and poor public transportation, so you depend on the hotel to move you around.

Another recommendation is regarding the train, they recently launched a new Chepe Express service that is more expensive but way better than the regular Regional one. Train is brand new, bar and dinning room are great and the food is a pricey but very good gourmet/fusion like.

BUT it is no more expensive than a moderate hotel in Paris, London, New York, and with views from the rooms, and lounge/dining in the top 10 worldwide, why would you deny yourself.

You pay for the view. The hotel is probably the best in the area but their food service is at the best dismal. Even the buffet breakfast is all but buffet. The staff is going around ignoring you.
The tours are OK, the area is just amazing and the tour guide was the highlight of the trip.

Hotel is incomparable for the view. Keep in mind the balconies are terrific as long as you have a nice/considerate neighbor. There are no privacy barriers between the balconies, i.e. you can hear everything they say and they can hear everything you say. There are no shades in the front of the balconies. In the mornings when we were there which was November.......the sun was so strong we could not sit on the balcony to enjoy the view. The sun was shining right in our face and it was hot at ten a.m. Those are huge considerations when you are basically booking this hotel for the balcony.

Fortunately, for us we had nice balcony neighbors. But, if we had paid the price for this hotel and had neighbors like some we saw in the tour groups I would have asked to be relocated which would be difficult because there are no elevators and walking the stairs up and down aren't for the faint hearted.

Luxury hotel with grandiose view of Copper Canyon

Who could resist staying in a hotel with each room having a private patio overlooking the Copper Canyon? From the minute we arrived at the hotel, we were met with friendly staff directing us where we needed to go. Delicious meals were included in the price. Tours were available: walking tour while listening to a Tarahumara Indian, and tours to the Adventure Park, which was very close. Good location, excellent hotel! Their bus picked us up and returned us from the El Chepe train station.

I met great people, became a friend with a very knowledgeable Mexican, great food and what a view... and had the best nights sleep in a clean room with incredible view. All three meals were included.

Amazing views, service, experience

The hotel has amazing views from each room and from the dining room. You can see the Tatahumara Indian villages in the mountains from the hotel. Three meals per person are included for each night's stay except drinks (coffee, juice, lemonade, acohol, etc are not free). The meals are pre-selected (no menu to choose from), but the chef prepares amazing recipes. We had onion soup, chicken Alfredo spaghetti, and chocolate cake for dinner. We had a tortilla soup (medium spice), steak with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes with greens, and a nut cake for lunch. Breakfast is buffet style. The staff were flexible with us as we added more people to the room than what was initially reserved for (at an additional price of course because of the meals). We did not use their tourism services but it seems that they offered rides to nearby attractions (Parque Aventura de Barrancas - zip lining) and towns (Creel). They also offered horseback riding. There is a path right next to the hotel that leads down the moutin to a nearby Tarahumara village. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend to family and friends and we hope to visit again someday!

Amazing stay. Better Veggy food needed

Amazing place worth a stay. Food is included. It is not at same level as the Room and the view. It would be good to accomodate Vegetarians and Vegans in a more specific way. The waiter was very friendly and they created an alternative option but this was not on par with the quality of the room. Given the fact we had lunch dinner and then breakfast, it would be easy to ask at check-in and then plan accordingly for special meals.

Fantastic view but questionable restaurant service

Fantastic view but the service was less than perfect. I stayed over a busy holiday weekend and the hotel was very busy. The hotel is quite isolated so the inclusion of the meals is good. The staff were friendly but the restaurant was overwhelmed most of the time. For example, I stood in line for 10 minutes at the breakfast buffet, waited for juice glasses, and the entire cold section of the buffet with fresh fruit was empty. Hotels.com should remove the wi-fi in lobby from the hotel description. The hotel does have wi-fi but it did not work at all. The hotel staff openly say that it does not work. The room was nice, but the beds were extremely hard.

Food and Beverage Staff the worst ever!

The food was good but need to add more variety of dishes . You get frustrated just with chicken and fish . Staff at restaurant worst I encountered don't seem to care for nothing . 1) you sit never will they come. 2) don't even market their wines and offer more . Market you have your good wines in front of you.
Ever nice place but with the worst experience at the restaurant it will be hard to recommend back. 3) train your staff and definitely the restaurant guests were complaining in tables . Remember having a good service keeps the customers back.

Beware booking this hotel

Deceptive booking practices. You may not get the Posada Mirador with the view as shown in the pictures but a lesser hotel called Barrancas down the hill.and a good walk away. They close the the lookout lobby (Mirador). The rooms are cold and they will not help you turn on the heater (Armando). Food is ok but very small portions and terrible deserts. Be careful booking this hotel. They will not book you in the Mirador. Manager Laura would not help

The Hotel with the most espectacular view !

Posada Barrancas Mirador has the most spectacular view of copper canyon. The all included meal plan was great, breakfast, lunch and dinner all in the price of a hotel stay was nice. The only bad thing was the hardness of the beds ! We like orthopedic beds, but this went way past HARD !!!! Everything else was great.

Conveniently located hotel, 2.5Km from Parque Aventura with teleferico, zip line, via ferrata...It can be reached walking by talking the path along the rim of the canyon.
Great views from hotel. Friedly hummingbirds.

Breath-taking Views

The Hotel Mirador is a picture-book establishment. The views are awe-inspiring. The rooms are simple and there in no Internet or contact what-so-ever with the outside world as I found out when my family tried to contact me with a health emergency. I couldn't think of a nicer place to spend a couple of nights in the middle of nowhere if I had to imagine a spot like this myself. I do recommend it.

Just a great place to stay in Cañón Del Copre! View view view!
Just 2 things need improvement! Heating in the dining area and a menu!
There is NO heating in the entire hotel other than in the rooms so you eat with a winter jacket on and there is no choice of food. You eat what they serve you. No choice. Soup, entre and desert. No salads. Nada! Could have at least 2 choices.

What can I say, the views and service were more than I expected. The meals are included in the price, except for the beverages that you may include, the morning buffet is delicious. Overall, this is a great hotel that I recommend and will definitely return too in January.

great view of the canyon.

We enyoyed the view. from our bedroom, balcony and also we loved the view from the restaurant. The food was ok, not too many options. Our only option was fish for lunch and fish for dinner.

Unbeatable location - pity the food is not better

Make no mistake everything you read about the location is true. Built on the cliff side looking across probably the most spectacular views in the copper canyon complex. Every bedroom has the view as well as the terrace and dining room. If you are lucky, also fantastic sun rises.
The rooms are comfortable and reasonably equipped. All have balconies. The hotel public rooms are comfortable. Waiting service at meals was good. Entertainment was laid on at night and the whole atmosphere was relaxed.
The hotel was happy to arrange guides for walks - a lot more expensive than prices we saw elsewhere but the guide the hotel contracted for our walk was excellent and spoke good english.
The Government has spent a lot of money on great cable car/zip slide/via ferrata/ cafeteria facilities about 40 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive from the hotel so the location is ideal.
So why only 3 stars? The hotel includes full board because of its location and unfortunately most of the food is very uninspired - reasonably cooked, no issues about cleanliness and good waiting service but just not what one expects from what is a top of the range hotel in terms of price. From our two days, (6 meals), Breakfast is self service with a reasonable choice of basic items but lunch and dinner are no choice three course cream of something soup, main course, bland cake type pudding.
In summary, no regrets about booking this hotel, the location makes it unmissable, but the food is disappointing.

More than expected

The hotel is perfectly positioned above the Copper Canyon, ensuring each room has an outstanding view of this most beautiful canyon. It was cooler than expected in the mornings (-5) but clear and sunny (we visited in mid-February). By the afternoon, it was warm enough to wear shorts/t-shirts. Food was great and the hotel room was comfortable. We took the gondola trip across one part of the canyon - definitely a worthwhile trip. Wanted to do the 7-point zipline but it was closed...next time!
