We recently booked a 3-night stay but ended up leaving after the first night.

First, I want to say the employees were very friendly and kind. This review is not a reflection of the staff, who were professional and courteous during our stay.

Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t great overall. We had reserved a king room, but when we arrived, we were told there were no pet-friendly king rooms available because we were traveling with our dog. We were placed in a double king room instead. While that wasn’t a huge issue, it was a bit frustrating since we had specifically booked a king.

The bigger concerns were with the room itself. The walls are extremely thin. We could clearly hear full conversations through the walls, and the door has noticeable gaps around it, making hallway noise very loud and constant. It made it difficult to relax or sleep.

Additionally, the room had a noticeable odor that smelled like a mix of mold and strong cleaner. At times, the smell of marijuana also drifted into our room.

Because of these issues, we decided to check out early and book elsewhere. I truly appreciate the friendliness of the staff, but based on our experience, we couldn’t complete our stay.

I had a very uncomfortable stay at this hotel. Shortly after sleeping in the room, I developed many tiny red itchy bumps all over my body. I’ve never had this issue before traveling, which makes me very concerned about the cleanliness of the bedding and room.

The room did not feel properly cleaned, and after this experience I regret staying here. Whether it was bed bugs, mites, or unwashed sheets, no guest should leave a hotel with skin irritation and itching.

I would not recommend this hotel and suggest management seriously improve their cleaning and sanitation.

On a cold winter night, after hours of travel, I entered this hotel to check in for vacation.(though its really an upscale motel). The hostess who greeted me was very courteous and assured me that this would be an excellent stay which i believed despite the warning signs.
I settled in and was met with a pitch black room with only dim lighting and scant amenities. I figured i could deal with this and began unpacking. It was only when i finished that i inspected the bed and found red stains on the sheets and brown stains on the mattresses(i checked the sofa bed too)
I can excuse the antiquated decor and dim lighting but the unsanitary condition is where i draw the line. I packed up and headed to the front desk where another host greeted me. I asked for a refund or at least another room and he accepted this showing me other rooms with similar conditions. I explained that i cannot accept these rooms due to these conditions and would need a refund. He said that will be fine and it would take 5 business days which is standard. I packed up my luggage but forgot my sweater in the closet of my original room. The host was nowhere to be seen. I waited until he returned and finally grabbed my coat, leaving unsatisfied but not vengeful.
Before leaving, I explained to the host that i found no ill will but the conditions did not reflect what i paid for nor could i stay with the unsanitary conditions. It wasnt until a week later that i found the host never issued a refund.

The room wasn't very clean. I never got housekeeping the entire 7 day stay. The microwave was dirty. The shower head was disgusting. The top didn't hold water. Bugs in the room including spiders, a roach, and the last day of bed bug. I was accused of planting the bed bug and denied a discount or the ability to extend my stay and a new clean room. The pool is so tiny it looks like a kiddie pool in your backyard and the gym is like a closet with three pieces of equipment. And one of the hallways wreaked of cat urine. Also wanted the side doors never locked so the security was lacking as well.

This hotel has bed bugs, we are covered in bites and had to leave in the middle of the night in order to spend 4.5 hours washing and exterminating everything ourselves before having to pay even more money on a new hotel to protect ourselves.

Kids and families on second floor above us were noisy until well after midnight running across the floor. The staff was nice and friendly, but the hotel seemed smelly and dirty. The shower had a little bit of mold in it, and the halls & room were musty and smelly. The rug seemed dirty and the bottom of our socks gave evidence to that. The breakfast was cereal, Swiss Miss envelopes of hot chocolate, and envelopes of oatmeal. We come up into the area often to visit relatives, and I don't believe we'll be going back to this hotel.....despite the fact that the staff was friendly.

My tv didn’t work and upon asking front desk the “manager” had no idea how to work newly installed tvs. She waited for another young man to assist who was for the next shift ( we waited a hour) who he then stayed the tv just wasn’t working. We went down stairs to be told they have been sold out for the night and there was no available tv that we would be able to use. Would not recommend!

This is your everyday average 3 star Hotel. The King Bedroom Suite is comfortably large and costs just a little more $ and is recommended. Much of the Housekeeping staff does not speak English which can be a BIG hassle. The Breakfast is VERY good with many choices including eggs/bacon/sausage or ham slices. A nice waffle maker and many other things to enjoy. HOWEVER we saw the Breakfast attendant work without plastic gloves, putting food like Bagels, muffins etc on the Buffet with her bare hands. A no no definitely. We stayed a week and did enjoy the stay. Will use this Hotel again if prices stay competitive. Also note that although the Housekeepers could not understand me, they did a good job of cleaning the room and I did leave them a tip.

The bed was okay, the breakfast offered the expected hotel basics and was definitely mediocre but about what you'd expect from free.

Internet went out almost every night after 11 until I'd tell the desk in the morning at 8 and they'd reset the router, which i was told only the morning shift could do.

The people were kind. Cleaners don't particularly pay attention to \"do not disturb\" signs but are great at cleaning.

I will probably stay somewhere else at this price in the future. If this were a discount- style hotel i wouldn't have had a single complaint.

Easy location to get to, about an hr from downtown Chicago...right off the highway. Next to a movie theater. No concerns on room cleanliness. Quiet hotel. Stayed there Thur-Sun. Free breakfast included 2 hot options, scrambled eggs and meat. Sausage one day, bacon the next, and ham the last day. Pool only open from 9am-8pm, so we never got to use it. It was pretty small in size. Front desk staff very polite. Easy safe on site parking. We'd come back.

Forget sleeping here, since the pipes make a bunch of noise anytime someone on the floor above you flushes a toilet or showers. Coffee maker, if we can rightly call it that, is in the bathroom which is just all kinds of health department violation. The sink in the bathroom is happy to spray water everywhere but in the actual sink, so I got o go meet clients with wet pants. The whole room just seemed dingy and probably has not been updated since the 90's, but you get what you pay for, I guess. With that in mind, spend the extra $20 for a better experience down the street. This location is not worth the savings, and you're going to end up fighting through traffic and subdivisions to get to any decent restarants, anyway. Save yourself the hassle.

The check-in staff was friendly. The cable signal was weak so TV was spotty. Worse, the doorknob had to be coaxed to open. Worst of all, the toilet ran all night the stopped flushing at all.
I had to wait a long time (7 minutes) for someone (young man) to come to desk- he was sorry, he was on a call. So that was frustrating

The hotel was very dated. Furniture in the lobby and eating area worn and soiled. I mentioned to the front desk that my bathtub was clogged after Thursday check-in. Our tub was still clogged after a three day stay. My family had to take showers with water over their ankles for 3 days. Breakfast was horrible hard scrambled eggs every day and broken equipment. Will never stay here again

On a positive note, the bed was super comfortable and had lots of soft pillows which we like. Breakfast was good and the indoor pool looked small but nice (we didn’t use it).

The negatives: The first room with a king bed smelled horrible like stinky socks! We asked for another room but were told they only had a room with 2 queens so we had no choice. The second room smelled better on the plus side. We stayed there for 3 nights coming for a funeral. We checked in late the first night so I put the do not disturb sign on the door the next morning. When we left the room early the 2nd morning I removed the sign. That night when we returned, the room had not been cleaned. I called the desk to find out why and was told cleaning is only done every other day. We were not notified of this when we checked in. I asked if someone could come empty my trash and provide clean towels and was told no as the housekeeping staff was gone and they would come the next day and I said we were leaving in the morning. So, we had no clean towels, overflowing trash and we were literally down to our last square of toilet paper.

We had to get up at 3:30am for our flight home and at 10:00pm the fire alarm for the hotel went off. It was ear piercing in our room. We went into the hallway meeting up with several other guests in pajamas. After we went downstairs, the front desk told us someone burned something in their room but all was okay now. Just an overall bad experience.

You can tell this place gets hit by the humidity in the midwest. They should rip out the carpets and put in composite wood flooring. The carpets smell musty due to the humidity and it seriously smelled like a gym locker in our bedroom. The staff, however, couldn't have been friendlier -- they were the highlight of the place. Otherwise, meh at best.
