Friendly staff that couldn’t do enough to accommodate. I stayed while working nightshifts and they would organise to service the room outside of normal hours always checking if I needed towels tea coffee etc. I have stayed multiple times and will definitely stay again

I booked this hotel when working in the village. It was very convenient with it being walking distance to the high street and various amenities. Parking was easy and convenient when I arrived around 5.30pm. The room was comfortable, but in need of a little touch up from patchy decorating, and the twin room was a bit short on space with an outward opening ensuite - this was passable though. Staff were friendly and on hand to help if needed until late. It was a comfortable stay, and have already booked to stay again. It is a greatly convenient hotel with lots nearby; free and easy parking; comfortable beds and quiet; so ideal if you're not expecting a chain brain quality of decoration.

The room was in a poor dirty condition. The main light was broken, the plug for the kettle was damaged with exposed earth pin, there was the previous guests biscuits on the floor, the shower was dripping and hadn’t been cleaned as the previous guests hairs were in the tray.
The staff were not available to report issues too.
Whilst it was a budget hotel I feel it failed to reach even this standard, the rooms have been crammed in so close you are able to hear everything other guests do and say.

The room was very dirty. Spiders in the corners, filthy windowsill and net curtain was dirty. On arrival we asked for breakfast and what time it was. The receptionist didn’t know then came up to our room and told us it was served between 8.00 and 10.00 a.m. Advertised having a hairdryer. There wasn’t one. Went to breakfast room at 8.30 a.m. with wet hair to be told there was no chef and no breakfasts were being served. The receptionist did find a hairdryer from another room then we had to try and find somewhere else to eat but places nearby were all closed. There was no manager present to complain to. Just a very bad experience. We’ve stayed here before and this visit was NOTHING like the last one, which was better.

All I needed was a single bed with a shower, WC and basin. That I got - for under £50. Remarkably good value for Berkshire. It was all very easy, the areas nice, and the man who greeted me and said goodbye was very friendly and obliging. I'll certainly come back when I'm next in the area

Older style property. Downstairs a comfy bar and a good sized breakfast room. Nicely upholstered furniture. Very friendly welcome. Upgraded to larger room. Ensuite good shower. Quiet area. Comfy bed. 10 hours sleep! Breakfast served with a smile. The cooked breakfast best my husband had had. All in all very pleased. Will be back

A reasonable stay for a reasonable price
We stayed for an overnight stop visiting friends. We weren't looking for a fancy hotel so i was not disappointed with Dial House. We had a reasonable rate for a reasonable room. The decor was a bit tired and the bathroom needs a good scrub but overall it served our purpose and was not at all unpleasant.

Very pleasant stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Was upgraded on arrival to a twin bed room which was easier access for me as I was unfortunately on crutches. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

This lovely hotel is such a gorgeous little place and inviting as well, the room was spacious and clean with tea/coffee station in the room, with a en suite bathroom with shower in.
We had breakfast in the Quant dining room area and I must say it was delicious, the server we had was very hospitable and funny. He did tell me his name but I forgot but he had a bald head and glasses.
I shall definitely be visiting again next time we are up this end of the country again.

Quite the worst place I have ever stayed in. Dirty and unhygienic. Black mould in the shower unit and around the floor areas. Dirty patches on the bathroom door. Black mould on the inside of exterior door and door curtain. Skirting boards had dirty marks and dust on them.Toilet brush was long past its best and rusty. Cheap pillows and bed linen, not quality Egyptian cotton as stated in the description. We had to pay £20 cash each for 2 dogs, which was pocketed by the person showing us to the room. Certainly a long, long way from value for money.

This place is a mess. The curtains are covered in dust, the stairs are filthy, the railings and window sills are completely covered in dust, and the picture frames and wall hangings are dusty too. The staff told me they only change the bedding every 3 days, and the edges of the carpets are very dirty and dusty. I even had to remind the staff to empty the bins, remove dirty cups, and restock the coffee, tea, and sugar.

We were guven a cold room for the night. I walked in the cold to look for manager as the phone waa not working. He finally gave us a mobike electric heater which would not heat the big poirly cleaned room in the back. One of the radiators was not working. Thevothercwent cold shorrly before midnight as they put off heating.
We didnt showr that night and in the morning too as the shower had cold icy water. It was my secinf time to use this hotel. The furst time i lost my perfunlme when i forgot my box in the lounge.
Overrall, its not value for money and i will not be going back there.

7 night stay. Bed linen never changed, shower drain blocked for 2 days, towels only changed once and only when asked. Have a bar and restaurant but nobody ever used them. Was not expecting much for the price point but was not expecting a very dirty room which looked like hadn’t been cleaned for months. Electrics looked un safe and for some reason the mirror got burning hot when the bathroom light was left on for some time. Carpet was in a very poor condition and bathroom was covered in dust dirt and pubic hairs. When this was raised with the management nothing was done in the whole 7 days were there and the bathroom stayed unclean as there was a ball of fluff and hairs that was there for the duration of our visit.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, even offered to carry my suitcase upstairs and they also stored my case for the day after check out. The hotel itself was nicely presented, though the room was a bit dated in style. It was clean, warm and comfortable. There were tea and coffee facilities and mini showergels. The bed was comfortable. The pipes are loud which woke me up at one point, but otherwise it was in a quiet area.

Dirty rooms, carpet dirty with bits embedded within, bedroom smelled damp, towels smelled of urine, cupboards all broken, kettle was filthy see pics although they did offer to change the kettle i didn't feel it was safe to stay as i explained to the guy on reception its not up to suitable standard and I asked for a refund the same night to go elsewhere but it was declined. I left for another hotel the same night anyway but still want my money back.

Enjoyed my stay very much. Staff were very helpful, room was spotless and the food was excellent too. It's obviously an old property and certain areas just need updating but I would recommend The Dial to anyone.
