I had to change rooms right away due to room conditions that did not inspire confidence in cleanliness. Flickering bathroom light, 8+ tears in wallpaper, bedside electric plug was filthy. New room was far better, but one trash wasn't empty and the overall experience was just jarring, and I am not usually that picky on this sort of thing. My standards are reasonably low.
Staff was very nice. They have food for purchase and are close to some decent restaurants if you want delivery.

The first room they put me in the picture in the bathroom fell as I was walking in, there was a flap of wallpaper and behind it a huge hole. They moved us to another room where the toilet backed up, the fixtures are chipped and worn. For the amount of money the rooms were I was very disappointed. The pool was not open the restaurant to get food did not open till 5, that makes no sense. For a hotel that offer no other amenities they failed miserably and we wi be finding another hotel for our future stays there. We have family members that live there so we frequently visit.

Check in was smooth, but there was only 1 out of 4 elevators working.
The shower head was broken. Water was coming out of everywhere from the shower head.
I held the comforter up and you can see through the comforter. It looked moldy inside or it could have been a REALLY old comforter. It looked gross enough for me not to use it. The Rug wasn't vacuumed completely.

The pillows were awful and I thought it was strange in the middle of winter there was no comforter, not even a blanket in the closet. It was in a great location, only stayed the night.

Yes, the room was clean, the staff we interacted with was excellent, and the burger we ordered from the bar downstairs was excellent. It was actually quite unexpected for it be so delicious. We were going to order it again the next night but since they were hosting a new years event, the regular menu wasn’t available. This is a central location and everything you’d need it fine minutes in either direction. We’d definitely boom again.

Everyone and everything was amazing from start to finish! They allowed us to check in a few minutes early, upgraded our room to a better suit and view for our first couples getaway weekend! The hotel was spotless and there was always someone cleaning or there to answer questions we had! We swung by the bar a few times throughout the night, before and after the comedy show we were attending around the corner, the food (we got the arancini balls) and drinks (we ordered a proper old fashioned that was made to perfection and wine) were not only amazing fresh and perfect, but the bar tender was so fun and hilarious! He made great conversation, and was always ready to attend to us before we even noticed our drinks were getting Low! Everyone was so professional and warm and welcoming! We definitely love the privacy and security of the building and going up to our room with having to tap your room key to use the elevator! It made me feel safer being so far from home! The snacks and desserts we got at the cafe were so good too! We got the cookie dough cake slice to share and that was the perfect way to end our night! We will definitely be staying at the Stamford Hotel anytime we come back to visit the area! Thank you to the team for making every step easy and perfect for our first getaway together!

Overall nice clean appearance. In the room there needs to be electrical outlet access at the bed stands. For CPAP for example.

I stayed there twice now, for one night the first time, then four nights. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant inside the hotel was great. It was very quiet and I like the location.

My room was tidy and had no issues overall. When I stayed for a few nights, my room was not cleaned at all. I had garbage piling up and it was pretty gross. The shower had no curtain (but an opening where a door/curtain should be), so I had to try really hard to shower without getting the floor wet. Seems like a lot of stuff there is not well-maintained - I found a broken hair dryer in one of the bathroom drawers, for example.

The price was still reasonable, though, and I would stay again.

I had to request decaf coffee, fresh creamer, light bulb missing from desk lamp; old chair and no chair lamp, broken recharger station by the bed (not attached properly), and unsafe appearing multiplug wall socket that was not flitting properly into the wall, and safe door was locked. TV did not work and needed engineer to visit the room to fix. After I asked for this to be fixed, it was open but safe still not operational. I found the front desk staff excellent, kind and responsive as well as security guard. Disappointed that restaurant was closed to the public, now used as an event space for Ct. Junior Rangers- so only food available was small kiosk area- not sufficient for the size of the hotel. Despite all of this, I would return to this hotel due to great location and reasonable cost, friendly staff; but facility needs some investment., i.e., wall paper peeling in bathroom. Would also advise soap dispensers (intead of small containers of soap).

This hotel is getting very rundown. The carpets are stained, the wallpaper has tears and the counter in the bathroom had pieces peeling off. The shower didn’t drain properly, and we did tell the front desk several times. They said they sent someone up, but it still wasn’t fixed. We’ve stayed there many times before, as we have family in the area, but I’m not sure we’ll stay again.

The room was clean, especially the bedding and towels. While all bathroom surfaces were clean, there was a funky smell emanating from... the sink drain? As it took a while to drain, I suspect the drain needs a good cleaning out. We couldn't locate the hair dryer but did not contact the front desk or housekeeping as we were there for just an overnight. The room was quiet - no outside noise or sound from other rooms. Part of the reason could be that the fan on the heating system muffled any outside noises. The front desk staff was efficient. Yes, the room was a little worn but was perfectly clean and comfortable; we appreciated the large desk with chair and the sitting/reading chair. We'd stay again depending on the price.

The hotel is in need of updating. The most surprising thing to me was the wallpaper peeling off the walls in the hallways, like a scene out of a movie. Floors were stained, curtains looked dingy, they had to change my room because the first one looked so run down, I felt like I was in an old motel. The second room was better, but even the frame on the mirror was all scratched like they had come from a second-hand store. Please update everything!

Let me end by saying the best thing about this hotel was, leaving it! I guess you have to be deftly dressed and/or “melanemic” in skin color to get any respect on check-in! I am a minority and vet owned business working a project, involving a degree of manual labor and I checked in…wearing “labored” equipment! Mind you, I checked in at 3:05p because I needed to clean up to conduct a briefing to city officials on a high level project (staff couldn’t have known that about me). Well, their apparent visual evaluation of me resulted in a room commensurate with their assumptions and/or where I was from from my license (GA) and assigned me a room where I could hear the A/C units (they run loud and appear well maintained), street traffic and right in front of the elevator! I didn’t know that this hotel had a “pecking order” or visual presentation matrix for checking in!!! I can promise you this, anytime I’m asked about this hotel, I will tell this story to whomever will listen! To be a great hotel structure wise and location wise, with great amenities, I will NEVER darken the door of this facility again, and that’s a shame, because it’s centrally located within the clients I service in the Stamford CT area😪 I don’t know if it’s a company matrix issue and/or personnel issue, but a deep conversation needs to be had about “visual evaluation” of guests will be conducted upon check-in (don’t judge a book by its cover)!! To say I’m highly disappointed is beyond even my imagination!!

Ari at the reception desk was 5 STARS! I talked to her by phone, probably 6 months ahead of our arrival, as I had plenty of questions regarding the location, and our planned attendance of the Ryder Cup in NY.
She was spot on then, and made it a point to introduce herself upon our arrival.

Also, our bartender in the restaurant was extremely helpful with recommendations and service.
The food was also great, as we had dinner there twice.

This was my 3rd stay at the Stamford Hiotel and each time has been functional and satisfying. it is walking distance to a myriad of restaurants, the rooms and my suite was large and clean, and the staff goes out of their way to eensure you have everything you need for a great stay. Having a reasonable parking garage attached to the hotel is a huge plus. I'll be back!

The Lobby was the most updated part of the hotel. The rooms were very outdated and the hallway had wallpaper that was ripped and coming off the wall. The rooms were poorly lighted and one of our lamps didn't work at all. There weren't enough outlets to plug in our devices. Was just overall disappointed that the room didn't look as polished as the front lobby. We would've stayed in the lobby if we could.

When I arrived i went to the front desk:
3 women were at the desk none of which said hello or engaged me in any way. Eventually got to the room and the TV and none of the lights worked. Only thing that worked was the phone. I had to pull out the dresser and saw that literally nothing was plugged in. The desk w power and lights didn’t work at all.

The shower has only half of a door.
Couldn’t figure out how to shut it.
There wasn’t a way to shut it.
So when I showered water went all over the floor.

Things in the room were dirty.
Bathroom vanity chipped paint w marks all over it. The dresser had many marks/dings/scratches.
The television was archaic.
Stains on the comforter, seat & ottoman.

Such a disappointing stay. I booked with such high hopes but was met with a dirty, disgusting hotel. Even how I was greeted by the reception, no enthusiasm, no smiles just my name, card on file and gave me my room key. As I entered the first room it was beyond disgusting. I immediately called and requested to change my room. It smelled like damp wet clothes were left in the room. I was informed someone will come to see the room and get me a better room. The manager(I believe) came with a new key card. When I asked if she was going to see the room and my complaint she stated “ leave the door open, I don’t need to see it, your new room is up there” at which point I was shocked that she wouldn’t even see what my complaint was for.
The next room was just as dirty and I realized nothing was going to be clean in here. I spent most of my stay outside and tried to come as late as possible to get some shut eye. I managed to get 2-3 hours in before waking up and rushing out to get married. As I was checking out the receptionist never asked if I enjoyed my stay, she just said “ Thank you for the key, your done, enjoy”. Talk about customer service. Never ever coming back!

I reached out to the manager to notify them of a situation and did not get a response. This is what I said:
the toilet in my room became clogged after normal use and overflowed, causing water to spill into the bathroom and hallway. As a result, I had to be moved to another room in the middle of the night.

Unfortunately, the situation was handled in a way that caused further discomfort. No towels or floor protection were provided, which meant I had to carry my heavy luggage through dirty water, leaving my shoes and belongings wet. This was not only unpleasant but also unsanitary. I had asked the engineer and staff to bring me towels. The staff expressed frustration and when he brought the towels, plopped them in a pile that I couldn’t reach. I expressed that I couldn’t reach and the point was so I didn’t have to walk through dirty water and he just walked away. They were scraps and were quickly absorbed by water aside from the fact I couldn’t even reach them.

While I understand that plumbing issues can happen, the response should have ensured my safety and comfort. I believe the hotel could have done more to assist me during this disruptive experience. I was also rushed to get out, it is my hope that I left nothing. Especially in the bathroom which was full of water making it inaccessible for me to gather all of my things with a clear mind.

The new room I was given was dirty however no other rooms available or could be cleaned late at night

Too be honest it has lost that special feeling of being excited to stay there. The price was good and the lowest I have ever paid over many years. Parking has double since we were last here. We used to enjoy the buffet breakfast not any more. We didn't check out the pool but the last time it just looked empty and dead. Sorry to say this hotel has lost its touch and the only reason we would stay again is for the price that was cheaper than the rest.

Oh wow, we had another great time. Bartender Maricio was great. Terrance the cook came out and he told us about the salmon with pilaf rice and vegetables that is a great meal. He was not wrong, it was the best salmon I had in a while. He was great talking to the guest. Have not seen that in years.

Wish they had a buffet breakfast for the guest for a fee. But we had a blast.
