Overall, the Regent is a very nice hotel. Perhaps a bit dated, but don’t let that discourage you, it’s still a nice property.
Positives: the rooms are very large, having just come from Japan where the room I had was small, this felt even larger! We liked the location, walking distance to main station stop, nice high end mall you can access by walking down the stairs, not sure how the mail stays in business, the 3 times we walked through it, it was empty. Pool on the rooftop looks nice and inviting, we did not get a chance to use it though.
Negatives: the rooms had a damp musty smell, probably due to the constant high humidity. I got used to it by day. 3. The gym area and equipment is dated, some walls walking to the gym area, but the elevator looks old and dirty. We tried the Brasserie buffet restaurant, it looked good from the outside, had great reviews, but it was not that great.
I’d recommend staying at the Regent, excellent customer service. Just know what to expect.

The front desk staff were warm, professional, and efficient, making me feel the high standard of five-star service from the moment I arrived. The room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with great attention to detail in its upkeep. The breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh and high-quality options, which was definitely one of the highlights of the stay. In addition, the hotel’s location is excellent—very convenient for shopping and transportation. It is truly one of the most highly recommended hotels in Taipei.

It's a very nicely appointed but also a very dated hotel. There are a lot of restaurants in this building so you'll get a mix of food scents in the hallways and sometimes in your room. It needs to be updated - carpeting, furniture and fixtures. The old timey physical KEY that is very cumbersome to use needs to be retired... Nice location.

Great hotel, rooftop pool was lovely, gym in the basement was good but a little dated and in need of updating. Overall very good stay, but some areas were a little dark (rooms, corridors, lifts). You have to walk across the lobby and into another lift to access the basement gym.

Have been coming to property for last 15 years always looking forward , this year they acted like they didn't know me , room was subpar and way more expensive , I wasn't offered lounge access which I had looked forward too , then when I called they wanted extra $100 per day , no amenities in room , freezing cold room even without air on . King bed was 2 singles pushed together with bump in middle . Very disappointed and likely have lost me as customer

The room was spacious, the bed was so comfortable, the room and hotel were spotless. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. We had a club room on the 19th floor and the lounge staff and experience for breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails in the evening truly made our stay very comfortable.

I love this hotel! It's the second time I've stayed there. The rooms are gorgeous, location is excellent, rooftop swimming pool is so special - it's a classic, elegant property. There are a few touches that could use modernizing - ie key cards instead of keys - and the lobby can be crowded due to the many events hosted at the hotel. That said - I love this hotel and would stay there any time I am in Taipei.

I had a very bad stay the air conditioner in my room did not work well one night freezing one night no air for a 5 star hotel they gave me a heater in the room and a fan so I can choose the temperature absolutely unacceptable.

The toilet bidet was broken when I checked in. The staff replaced a new one in a timely manner. The second day around 10 pm. The shower room ceiling start leaking water.
