Everything was horrible... from the check in , room, room cleaning that never happened.
We needed to fix our bed...we needed to pick up our towels.
Their is construction opposite our balcony that start 6:30 AM and finishes between 7-7:30pm.

The room did not appear to be as described or depicted on the website. They said they would change me to a better room in 2 days. However on the Sunday I was awoken with loud drilling the other side of the wall to my bed head. There had been no mention of a building site next door on the hotels.com website. I was asked to go and look at another room which was being cleaned. When I walked in two staff members were sitting on the bed smoking, despite the hotel displaying signs saying strictly no smoking. There was no way I could stay in that room which stank of smoke, but was accommodated eventually in a smaller room away from the building noise. I asked for a part rebate for the lower level room but this was not forthcoming.
Beware they have a strict no refund policy and were very hardline in any discussion despite hotels.com trying to advocate for me.

The hotels pictures and reviews are deceiving. The room is tiny, the bathroom is disgusting and the service is horrific. The only positive is the location.

There is no one working there (besides someone who comes to clean in the AM) so if you have a problem, you have to hope for an answer via WhatsApp. The first time I messaged them for more towels and toilet paper, they told me I’d have to wait till the next day. The second time I texted them because we were completely out of toilet paper, so they gave me the code to a closet to get more. The closet was double locked with a key so the keypad was useless so we had to use tissues for toilet paper.

The shower is horrific. It’s beyond dirty and rusted. It’s totally unacceptable. The bathroom is generally quite worn down.

Although we originally thought the price of the hotel was good, the lack of service and overall uncleanliness, makes it seem overpriced for what we got.

I love staying at the David Story Hotel. It is perfectly located, very clean, and exceptonially friendly staff. It is a boutique hotel so I feel like I am 'at home' whenever I stay there. Any hotel near there is twice the price.

Location is great, right near Mamila mall. Plenty of shopping and dining nearby. Room was clean, and bed was great; nice amenities, too. The room overlooked a construction site, which detracted from our experience. Also, the room needed a paint job - there were places where the paint was chipped off. The lock needed to be lubricated. And the light switches were hard to decipher. Overall, a good experience, but not top-notch - but it was definitely a good value for the price!

The room and bedding was very clean and in good condition. The room was also quiet.

I would not really call this a hotel since the reception is just the manager (or owner?) sitting in the hallway at a desk with a laptop. It's more like a residence inn.

He was very nice. We did not need any help on the tourism front so I have nothing to say about that.

I would say this is good value for money.

Hotel was well located and clean. Mahmoud at the front desk was very helpful. Having said that, the xo structuring in the area started at 6:30am every morning, the elevator was broken when we arrived - and we had suitcases so it was not convenient. More worrysome was that a mistake for the price of our stay that was not dealt with in a timely manner. It took six days and me asking every day for the issue to be corrected. On my last day I said if it was not corrected on the spot I would not move from the lobby - and only then did they try to find a solution rather than keep postponing the resolution.
Don’t think I would stay there again and do not recommend.

Excellent hidden gem in plain site on King David streey in Jerusalem. Excellent location to walk to Old City, go to Mamila mall, or hop on an excursion with popular pick-up location being right across from hotel. Parking would be challenging, but then again I would not recommend renting a car for a Jerusalem stay (better to rent when leaving the city, ride cabs or public transit in city or book day tours).

The hotel has a great location, just in front of a pick-up point for tours, walkable to the old city. The service is great, the employees look to help always and very fast. The room has all that’s needed, plus a minifridge, a microwave and a sink. The five water and cookies, plus milk and coffee. Great place.

Nice room but lacking as a hotel

The hotel is barely a hotel but a floor in a building. It was difficult to find, there is no one on staff at the hotel at night and guests leave the door open so anyone could walk in. They give you a phone number to call if you have an emergency.

The cleaning staff began vacuuming at 8:30 in the morning which was beyond annoying.

Overall a clean room in a good location, but not a real hotel. We most likely would not stay here again.

Very disappointing hotel with small rooms and an obscure entrance. It took our taxi 30 minutes to locate the hotel entrance. Poor and very unresponsive staff. We sent emails three days before arrival and got no response. Phone number under Contact Us is wrong. We had no hot water on day 1 (it was 4”C) and the internet did not work for the entire three days. No one manages the front desk. There is no security and the main door to the building and the hotel on 2nd floor are open at all times. Felt very unsafe. No one checked us in on arrival or did any ID check. The rooms were left open for us when we arrived and we never met any hotel staff until checkout three days later. Terrible experience.

Great location but……

This should be a really good hotel.
The location is amazing, 10 minutes walk to the Old City and the bar and restaurant area.
The rooms are great, in size and comfort and the bathroom large and well equipped.
It has a great roof terrace.
But….We had so many things go wrong. The TV never really worked in the 3 nights we were there. More importantly the lift broke, unfortunately on Shabbat, which meant no one could fix it for two days. Our room was on the 5th floor which is fine if you are fit.
The noise at rush hour from the road is very loud as the junction nearby is a mess (like most of Jerusalem traffic) but it was ok later at night.
There is no free parking nearby although there are some underground car parks nearby which you can pay for.
Overall the location, quality of room and price made up for the problems but it could easily make things better.

In ancient time, our neighbourhood was home to generations of grooms and guards, priests and pages, cooks and courtiers who lived here whilst working at Royal Wawel Castle, which was the residence of the Polish Kings between the 10th and the 17th century.
