We stayed for two nights and honestly couldn’t fault a thing.

We arrived early due to our flight landing in the morning and knew check-in wasn’t until 3pm. We had already contacted the hotel to ask about leaving our luggage, which they were happy to store for us. When we arrived, the reception staff were incredibly friendly and let us know our room would actually be ready within the hour. We popped out for some food nearby and came back to check in before heading into Hamburg.

The location is perfect, right next to the U-Bahn station, which made getting around the city so easy and convenient.

Breakfast was fantastic. There was everything you could possibly want, yoghurt, cereals, cakes, pastries, cooked breakfast, fresh bread, meats and cheeses. There was even a pump of Nutella, which was a big hit with our 12-year-old!

We genuinely couldn’t fault the hotel. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and an excellent breakfast. We will definitely be back.

Nice, pet-friendly, hotel. Convenient place to stay near to the motorway. We were travelling with our dog. Staff were very welcoming. There was a small charge, I think €20, for a pet-friendly room. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, but they can go in the bar, where you can get food and drinks. The hotel is next to a park where we could exercise our dog. Food and drinks in the bar and restaurant were very good.

Perfect for a couple of nights for a trip to see Ed Sheeran at the Volkpark stadium. Only 15 mins drive from the airport, short taxi ride to the stadium and a 45 minute walk back. Breakfast was really good and not too busy. Would definitely recommend.

Location was awesome, just near the zoo (the zoo itself is pretty overpriced. Had way better experience way cheaper in central europe, especially in prague) and 3-4 minutes away from U-Bahn station. This let us be in the center in about 15-20 minutes pretty easily and there is a direct bus route to airport from the same place.

The staff was friendly, decent breakfast, really spacy rooms with themed decorations on each floor, the kids really enjoyed staying there after a well-know chain stay in Bremen. We arrived about 30 minutes before check in time and were given the keys right away.

Nespresso machine with free coffee was a good addition for the stay. Maybe a kettle additionally would be even better. Also the fridge was almost full with mini bar items, so we had to store our snacks outside it.

It was expensive for the size of room and the facilities. For example it was rated at 4.5 stars but there was no bar. I believe it was resting on the laurels of being the hotel next to the zoo. The staff were pleasant although Covid rules were a bit over the top (perhaps their hands tied) for example everyone zealously wearing masks in public places but no hand sanitizers at each of the buffet stations. Hands are more important than masks

The aircon did not functional properly in the romm so the reception upgraded me to a room close by, very quick and good service. Parking was secure and nearby at 6.5 euro, very reasonable. quite disappointing stay:
- large and noisy construction across the street. i was offered a better room, for an extra charge, of course
- i got locked out of the room. it took me 3 trips to the reception desk and the entire lock had to be taken down. why use fancy door locking devices if they don't work?
- toilet broken
- the cleaning person knocks at the door in the morning, but does not wait for an answer. if you are not fast enough, you end up with a strange person in the middle of your room. quite funny, if you have your clothes on.
- self parking is an extra 20EUR!

Lovely modern hotel in a nice location right next to the Tierpark. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and were pleased with both. The A/C was especially appreciated since we had been traveling a month in Denmark without any, during a heat wave. Some people might think the hotel décor is a bit kitschy, but after a month of Danish modern it was a nice change.

I liked the african themed hotel, it was quirky. The hotel was spotlessly clean. There isn't an awful lot around you, you needed to take the metro to venture out.
The bar service was a joke, it could easily take you 20 minutes to get a drink as they didn't have a full time member staff working on the bar even though the hotel was full. Occasionally members of staff would come to the bar where people were waiting only to ignore them as they were getting drinks for the restaurant. They would say someone was coming and 5 to 10 minutes later they would but then as soon as they served a couple of people they cleared off again, even if you were still waiting. What a joke!

The hotel is close to the Hagenbeck zoo and the interior decor and motifs are of the animals, safari and tribal artifacts in Africa. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed and wifi is free (faster connection available for a fee). Only spent a night and arrived late (11 pm) because of terrible traffic due to construction along the A7 highway at the time. Pleasantly surprised at the extensive breakfast buffet spread and quality - a definite plus. Parking is available for an extra charge. In-room refrigerator is stocked with a few beverages and snacks for an extra charge. Hotel is close to Hamburg's main airport so convenient for fliers to and from Hamburg.

This is a hotel well worth the stay. It's within walking distance to the 'U' bahn and the Zoo is directly behind it. Nice bar, if a little pricey and not much beer choice. Interesting lifts with different colours for each floor. Excellent German hospitality from the staff.

Hotel was great, boasting attractive and well appointed rooms. Had a problem when checking in where they did not have my breakfast booking on their system, I showed the booking confirmation to the person on the desk and she eventually agreed to add breakfast to my room, however, her attitude towards me was condescending. The rest of the staff were fantastic, the amenities (spa in particular!) were amazing and the restaurant provided us with delicious meals.
The hotels location is great for visiting the zoo but expect a short ride on the underground to reach anything else.

Very welcoming reception staff and very helpful bar staff. Bar meals were more to my taste, and pocket, than the restaurant meals. Breakfast was expensive for what it was and should really be included in the room price.
Internet access also expensive and again, should be included in the price for a hotel of this standard.
Discount on zoo and aquarium tickets if bought from the hotel reception.
Very frequent underground trains, opposite hotel, gets you into central Hamburg for 3 Euros, single, in about 25 minutes.
Good selection of city sightseeing tour buses just outside Hamburg railway station if you want to see what the city has to offer.
If you are visiting the O2 arena a no.22 bus from outside the hotel gets you there in about 10minutes for 2 Euros, single.

Again disappointed it did not include breakfast, most of the guests had breakfast included in room price, but Expedia did not want it, according to staff!
I had to ask for tea and coffee in the room! Although it was advertised!
At breakfast the waitres asked me to pay after taking breakfast!!
It cost Euro 18.00 very high for what it was.
The next day I had continental breakfast in the bakery next to the Metro for Euro 5.00
Very good quality bread and coffee, there is also a supermarket next to the bakery with everything you wants for very little cost.

Nice hotel, staff very nice. I knew that I was staying outside of town and that the train station is very close by. Train was very convenient so getting around was no problem. Breakfast and internet not being included is my only complaint; this increased the price each day by almost 30 Euro.

Nice Hotel with a theme-park feel.

The hotel seems to have been built within the past few years. Rooms are themed toward exotic animals and locations. The property is adjacent to the Hamburg Zoo and close to the Airport. If you visit in the summer months, be prepared to be uncomfortable. The room AC units are set at 25C/77F and can only be adjusted 3 degrees cooler. Unfortunately, the AC units appear to be undersized or poorly maintained. The rooms never cool off. I visited the property for one night with 3 colleagues and we all had the same problem in our separate rooms. No one could get the room cooler than 76F. Although we all complained at the front desk, they acted surprised to each of us, as if they never heard that issue before...

I stay here a lot for work, staff are always helpful and friendly, rooms are large and comfortable (I prefer the 'Asia' rooms to 'Africa'). Restaurant serves very good food inc local Hamburg specialties Location isn't the best, unless you plan to go to the zoo, but metro station is only a couple minutes walk from where you can get to most of the main area withing 10-15 minutes.

We were shocked about the extra expenses during our stay. For instance, breakfast at the hotel dining room was not included in the cost of the room, but was three times as expensive as at nearby restaurants. Internet access in the room, free at most hotels, was also expensive. The \"Business Center\" consisted of an old, excruciatingly slow computer on a table next to the reception desk in the lobby. Finally, charges for local phone calls from the room were ridiculously high. A couple of other noteworthy surprises: no door to the bathroom, and no way to adjust the thermostat.

Spotlessly clean. Beautiful decor. 3-5 minute walk to U-Bahn. Comfortable, but almost sterile. No easily accessible from the airport, you have to take 3 different trains. Also it is not centrally located... positive side is a quite, less busy location, negative side is a short 15-20 commute to the center of town. Staff was great! Restaurant food was top notch, but pricey.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt im Hotel. Das Ambiente war wirklich schön und die Sauna super zum Entspannen. Das Frühstücksbuffet ließ keine Wünsche offen, die Auswahl war top. Nur zu Stoßzeiten war es wirklich voll, da musste man sich ein wenig durchkämpfen. Trotzdem würden wir definitiv wieder buchen!

Hier und da gab es Mitarbeiter, die in Sachen Freundlichkeit noch Kapazitäten haben könnten.
Das war aber auch schon alles kritikwürdige. Die allermeisten Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und auf Zack. Essen um Restaurant etwas kostspielig aber lecker. Da kaum Betrieb war( über lange Strecke waren wir die einzigen Gäste) hatten wir einen herausragenden Service durch direkt zwei Mitarbeiter. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und gut sortiert.
Die Bar war gut besucht und die Mitarbeiter ebenfalls auf Zack. Zu empfehlen: der nordic sour 😋
Auch die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption waren immer freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Das Zimmer war sauber, geräumig und hatte alles, was man braucht.
Die Lage: nicht ganz zentral aber gut angebunden. U-bahn quasi direkt nebenan.
Das Hotel kann ich guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen

Bei der Buchung wurde der Wunsch nach einem ruhigen Zimmer hinterlegt, ohne jeden Kommentar wurde ein Zimmer seitlich zur Straße vergeben. Die Expedia-Seite wies Mietfahrräder aus - die Mietung zweier Fahrräder wurde mit der Buchung gewünscht. Es erfolgte keine Antwort, vor Ort erfuhren wir, das Hotel vermiete keine Räder.
Offenbar werden Buchungswünsche der Kunden gar nicht gelesen!

Wir wurden sehr offen und freundlich empfangen. Obwohl wir über zwei Stunden zu früh waren durften wir unser Zimmer schon beziehen.

Das Zimmer war sehr hübsch eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Gut war, dass man das Fenster zum Lüften weit öffnen konnte.

Und das Frühstück, ein absoluter Traum. Ein riesiges sehr vielseitig bestücktes Büfett. Es war wirklich alles da was das Herz begehrt. Alles war super frisch, sehr lecker.

Wir waren von unserem Aufenthalt begeistert und werden gerne wieder kommen.

Das Hotel liegt direkt neben dem Tierpark Hagenbeck und ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für einen Tag im Tierpark. Im Hotel wird man durch die außergewöhnliche Einrichtung im Kolonialstil und die schön eingerichteten Themenzimmer schon auf den Tierpark eingestimmt.
Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Direkt in der Nähe gibt es einen Supermarkt und Bus- und Bahnhaltestellen, so dass man auch schnell ins Stadtzentrum gelangt.
Was uns nicht so gut gefallen hat, war zum einen das recht teure Parkhaus und zum anderen die vielen Mücken im Zimmer, die wohl von dem Wassergraben vor dem Hotel kommen.

Das Frühstück ist umfangreich und lecker. Hotel ist außergewöhnlich eingerichtet. Bett ist gut. Einziger negativer Punkt ist, dass man bei der Nutzung der Sauna nicht die Möglichkeit hat an die frische Luft zu gehen oder wenigstens ein Fenster komplett zu öffnen.

Die Einrichtung der Unterkunft ist sehr geschmackvoll und entsprechend zu dem Tierpark wunderbar eingerichtet.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir kommen gerne wieder und werden das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Das Hotel liegt direkt neben dem Zoo Hagenbeck, dass ist sehr praktisch. U-Bahn nur wenige Schritte entfernt. Das Personal war super.

Das Zimmer war gut schallgedämmt und trotz Lage zur stark befahrenen Straße ruhig. Die Verkehrsanbindung per U-Bahn zur Innenstadt ist toll und die direkte Nachbarschaft des Tierparks ein Pluspunkt.
