I stay at this hotel regularly since it’s in the neighborhood I used to live in and I genuinely really like this hotel. The beds are super comfortable, the rooms are quiet and modern. The staff is always exceptional.

My only critique: The smell from the pipes in the bathroom is very bad - I understand this comes from city pipes but i’m sure something can be done about it. It’s really hard to tolerate, especially in rooms that don’t have a closed off bathroom. This same smell happens almost every time I stay here.

Additionally, there were a lot of things that needed improvement in my room - The curtains were very dirty, as was the lampshade. The towel hanging radiator in the bathroom was very rusty and I didn’t want to put my towels to dry on there. I really hope this hotel listens to this feedback because I would love to keep coming back.

Lula from the front desk night shift was very kind and informative. She helped us with the air conditioning system and showed us how to open the windows in different ways.
The buffet was very good. We only enjoyed it one day because of the $20 price per person. It would be good to secure the loose tiles at the bottom of the left stairs when exiting the front door.

Great location between two train stops. Lots of restaurants nearby. Very walkable. There is road noise, but that didn't bother us. Staff were very friendly. We had breakfast there two of our days. Plenty of options (even for vegans!)

The room was quite nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would have preferred fluffier towels, and a bed that wasn't as hard as a cement block, but overall it was fine. Don't use their online service requests during your stay, it won't work! I made several requests (room service, towels) during my stay but in the end I always had to go to the front desk and they would tell me they didn't receive any request. It would be less annoying just to go to the desk in the first place; they should probably stop paying for whatever web service they are using...overall though I had a perfectly fine stay.

We booked a standard room but it did not have a coffee machine, so we asked for a bigger room which did have the machine.Th upgrade cost us 10 Euro a night.

A nice touch is that you get a free drink if you agree not to have maid service between the first and second night's stay. No much around the hotel, but 50m from a U-bahn station.

The staff were excellent and very helpful. Unfortunately I had a room with a smelly bathroom (due to bad plumbing in room above or neighbouring room). Basic room has design flaws - bathroom floor always got wet after shower; insufficient hooks for hanging towels; placement of tap in the hallway sink... Kettle and coffee cups also not supplied by default though you could ask for them from the concierge. Wish it could have been a better experience.

Excellent, helpful, welcoming reception staff. We arrived three hours before check-in time, expecting to have to leave our luggage and come back later but the gentleman ( dark hair, glasses), on duty did his best too find us rooms that were ready - which he did. He then, without being asked (not always the case in hotels), provided us with very useful local transport and restaurant information.His colleagues, Herr Malte in the bar and Herr Anton on the desk, were likewise excellent at making us feel at home.
Breakfast room manager and staff - excellent customer service.
Lounge-bar and breakfast room comfortable and inviting.
The breakfast buffet - Excellent
Beds very comfortable - both soft and firm pillows provided.
Soundproofing against both traffic noise and noise from other rooms excellent.

Improvements needed:
Standard double rooms - very cramped, only suitable for single occupancy
Insufficient, badly designed hanging space for clothes.
No storage space.
Hand basin the room situated directly by the door - difficult when two people in the room.
Bathroom cramped -shower tray leaked on to floor, trickling into room (design fault) - reported it and were immediately offered a room change but not worth it for one night.
Room superficially clean but needed deep clean - especially bathrooms (drain smell in one of the two rooms we had - noticed this on using shower on last night of stay). Suggest housekeeper is more thorough in checking cleaning standards.

Rooms were tasteful contemporary design, well laid out, comfortable furniture. Closet was large enough with enough hangers and a place for tall items.
Lobby was comfortable and inviting with a bar and even a small overflow seating area with a library.

I had the smallest room category, yes, it was small, but completely sufficient for my purposes. Neat, clean, quiet (room was to the back). I'd suggest to have breakfast in one of the nearby cafes (2 min walk); hotel breakfast buffet is nice, but a bit overpriced.Good, fast WiFi. Location in between 2 U-Bahn stations (4-5 min walk either way), from there fast and easy connections to anywhere in the city (day pass EUR 6.50).

Everything was new (recent renovation), but the room was *VERY* small and cramped compared with Novum Style Hotel Berlin-Centrum where i stayed just after. The bathroom had a slight sewage smell throughout my stay (maybe something to do will all the extensive construction all around the front of the hotel?). Someone entered my room early while i was sleeping. No in-room coffee maker (Novum Style Hotel Berlin-Centrum had one! Weird not to have one!). I'd hoped for 2 twin beds and got one double, which would have been ok except that the bed was terrible quality; you could feel the springs, and every time the other person moved, the bed would shake horribly. My roommate had the same comments as above. One really nice thing was that they securely stored our luggage for us after check-out so we could enjoy a few hours in the city. Front desk staff was really nice.

Refreshing during a heat wave.

Had a good stay, wish I had spent both my nights in Hamburg there. The hotel had air conditioning which is unusual for Hamburg, but the room I was assigned did not. I went to reception and they moved me to a larger room with A/C.
The neighborhood was fine and had a metro station nearby. In the neighbor hood there was a choice of local restaurants.
Had breakfast at the hotel, it was very good. They will even cook your eggs to order. However, a bit pricey at 25€ PP.
I would recommend, but ensure that you have a climatized room, especially during a heat wave!

They have some road construction, but you could not here the noise inside.

Fantastic hotel. Very fresh and clean. Super comfortable bed. We didn’t have breakfast because we prefer to eat out but that too looked incredible. Concierge was friendly and booked our taxis. The hotel is walking distance to the underground so it’s also easy to get around.

Great staff, clean, modern hotel. Horrible layout of the room I was given with bathroom split into area immediately after entrance. Bathroom of this room definitely not like the picture shown in the website for a standard room!
No luggage rack, safe positioned at floor level - had go on your knees and bend down to read operating instructions - really stupid design.

Lovely hotel and staff, shame about room design!

The staff were all throughout friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean, the sheets nice and crisp. The breakfast was very good, with an excellent choice of cold and hot food, juices, breads etc etc.

The only thing I hated was the layout of the room, which was bizarre. As you walk into the room, the shower and toilet are split between the sink and wardrobe area which is immediately in the passageway from the door! There is barely any space to dry yourself when you step out of the shower (by the way, the open shower leaks all over the floor outside so you're stepping into a puddle!), there are no towel rails, the \"wardrobe\" is not that wide and consists of one rail sticking out from the wall, so if you want to remove an item from the back, it pushes the hangers at the front to drop off the rail.

The safe was located right at the bottom of the wardrobe on the floor, so you had to go on your knees and lean down to read the instructions (really stupid design whoever thought of that!). There was no suitcase rack, so had to put the suitcase on the floor. There was a small area between the bottom of the bed and the wall, with the TV sticking out about 6 inches, so everytime went past, risked getting your shoulder gouged.

Newly refurbished hotel, so in good shape. Clean, modern facilities.

Single ‘value’ room is very small, with sink right at door. Not much space around bed.

But facilities are good and comfortable. WiFi easy to connect and fast.

One black mark was the shower wasn’t draining properly, when I loosened the drain I realised it was because the long hair of previous guests hadn’t been cleaned out - so that was an unwelcome sight.

Excellent breakfast buffet with good special dietary choices.

Close to two U-Bahn stops on the U2 line to get to centre or connect to airport for €2, or Taxi for €27

Area is undergoing gentrification and has a good selection of restaurants close by

Overall good to very good and would likely stay again if needed to be in Hamburg on business

NIE WIEDER! Ich habe zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht und war sehr enttäuscht. Für 170 Euro pro Nacht ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut inakzeptabel. Das Zimmer 207 roch extrem (wirklich extrem!) nach Abfluss, und ich habe in Google-Rezensionen von vor sieben Jahren gelesen, dass dieses Problem schon damals bemängelt wurde und bis heute nicht behoben ist. Die Einrichtung war abgewohnt, das Sofa hatte einen riesigen Fleck und die Wasserhähne wackelten. Außerdem musste ich für zwei Liter Wasser 16 Euro zahlen. Der einzige wirklich positive Punkt ist die Lage, aber es gibt in der Nähe günstigere Alternativen. Ich würde dieses Hotel nicht noch einmal buchen.

Ach ja, wir wurden bei unserer als „Guests of the Day“ ausgewählt und hätten ein kostenloses Getränk an der Bar bekommen, was wir bekommen haben war aber ein Stinkezimmer und ich übertreibe wirklich nicht.

Die Umgebung war hervorragend. Es gab zahlreiche Möglichkeiten zum Essen gehen- egal welche Küche oder welches Budget.
Zuerst hatten wir ein Zimmer zur Straße, durften aber auf die gegenüberliegende Seite wechseln und konnten dann sogar mit offenem Fenster schlafen. Das Personal war fix und höflich.
