The staff were extremly welcoming, polite and helpful. The hotel has a great vibe with all the bars and restaurants located within. Breakfast was amazing, the choice of food and drink was excellent. Rooms are clean and comfatable, spa and pool are perfect for relaxing. Could not fault this hotel at all. Amazing stay and would highly recommend staying here if visiting Hamburg.

This hotel is really lovely and they have 3 restaurants. I ate 2 meals at the French restaurant and it was fantastic. The VIP perks offered 30 euros off in the restaurant plus a 1/2 bottle of champagne! They really know how to treat Expedia guests well! I highly recommend this hotel.

I found this property to be underwhelming for the price. The air conditioning didn't work and I had to get a stand up fan for the whole stay. The room was dated. I don't like how the doors open outwards and feel that is a bit of a security issue especially for women staying on their own. The bedding was very ordinary with just a bottom sheet and comforter..no other sheet. The gym was tiny and often crowded. The spa's looked beautiful but feel some of that space could be better dedicated to a slightly bigger workout facility. The breakfast that was included was nice. The service at the eateries was hit and miss. No one wanted to make an attempt to communicate in English. I think the staff should have the basics. The steak in the steak house is priced per 100grams and if you don't notice it on the menu before you walk in you can end up overpaying than what you had originally planned. I thought having to pay for the coffee in gym was unreasonable. I like to have a cup before I work out in the morning and before I hit breakfast and had to pay for it. Whereas had I had breakfast before my workout, coffee would have been unlimited. I just don't feel there is value nor would I say this is a 5 star hotel. I would rate it as a 4 star perhaps that needs a renovation. I will be staying at another hotel next year.

I went to conference and the hotel was close by. It’s located near everything central in Hamburg.
The valet service is comprehensive and front of house staff are very attentive in regards to taking care of taxis and welcoming you to the hotel.
Check in staff are all friendly and fun.
The rooms are very European and basic styling but they are generously proportioned and well cleaned. In fact, the cleanliness was very high.
This is a good hotel, it won’t disappoint.

This is a beautiful hotel with some lovely restaurants (albeit expensive) in a very nice area. Walking distance around 15 minutes to the main area of the city. Staff at the front desk were helpful but the checkin person was slightly abrupt/not very smiley! The room was very nice only downsides were the TV had only a few English channels and these were news, the options to use your own TV accounts were helpful but the connection was really slow and programs kept buffering which was frustrating. No kettle or coffee machine in the room was really disappointing for a 5 star hotel, seems to be a way of forcing you to order room service which was extremely expensive. Buffet breakfast was good, very busy on the weekend but still received good service. The spa was lovely, enjoyed a very good massage and the pool facilities, pool was extremely busy with lots of young children on the Friday afternoon which wasn’t very enjoyable, other times it was nice and peaceful. Be warned the sauna area is no clothes!!! Overall a lovely stay just a few points to improve on.

The property was amazing. The only issue in the entire stay was that all the lower level parking meters died for some reason, so be sure to take the ticket stub with you and pay with reception to avoid this inconvenience.

This is a fabulous place. Luxury everywhere. The room was large and light with quality fixtures and fittings and the rooftop bar is splendid. Breakfast was worth it and the swimming pool was very relaxing. The only place we'll stay in Hamburg.

The staff was very friendly and accommodated me getting there a little early. They were patient with me and my not so good German. The amenities are amazing! The hotel feels a bit 90s, well kept but dated.

Service was ok. I arrived 8pm on Sunday and desperately needed a U.K. to EU converter to do some work. After being told they ran out because it’s so busy I went down to reception to double check and found multiple ones. We asked for a breakfast box only to find out it was forgotten about when we went to pick it up from reception in the morning.

Gym is tiny for this size hotel, couldn’t find a single free machine had to come back at 9pm.

No coffee/tea facilities in the room.

Overall it wasn’t a bad stay, rooms were clean, beds comfy, location is good, breakfast was decent and service was friendly. But I would try other 5* hotels in Hamburg for rushing back.

Great long weekend with family

Everything top, great choice of restaurants, nice SPA, friendly staff. In the bar they even made a Shirley Temple for our daughter who was really delighted that they have it in good old Germany. Location is quiet but still walking distance to all the action in Hamburg.

Beautiful Hotel, the first guy at the front desk was friendly, helpful, other front desk not too friendly.
At breakfast time one lady is always watching you, what you eat, what you do, you feel like you’re doing something wrong when you get up to get your food, it’s a buffet, she came to us in a bad way to tell us , to do not use the glass cups to serve yogurt, because it’s going to be difficult for them to wash the glass.
Check out, do it on time because you have to make a line and wait for your turn until they finish check ins.
I won’t stay there any more, just for the unfruitful and unhappy staff.

Wonderful hotel

Wonderful old school hotel but with charm and not as characterless as some of the larger hotels. Great location to see the Hamburg ballet and take the train. Excellent service and quality furnishings including excellent sound proofing from the road and comfortable beds- recommended!

Bei der Ankunft war der Bellboy sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Als wir an der Rezeption angestanden sind, hatten sich 2 Gäste vorgedrängelt. Wir wussten nicht, dass wir an der Repeztion kleben mussten um empfangen zu werden. Normalerweis hält man zu den anderen Gästen abstand, was der Fall war, bis man dran kommt bzw. wird vom Rezeptionist/in aufgerufen, dass man zu ihnen kommen darf. Sogar der Reception Manager in der Schicht lässt zu wünschen übrig. Der hat uns gar nicht gesehen, obwohl wir am warten waren und hat die tolle, vorgedrängelte Dame bedient. Sehr schlechten ersten Eindruck für einen 5-Sterne Hotel und das ist auch der Grund, wieso wir da niemehr einkehren werden.
Von der Rezeptionistin wurden wir eingecheckt aber nicht begrüsst. Als der Bellboy uns zum Hotelzimmer begleitet hat, haben wir uns verärgert über die Situation unterhalten (er hatte sich gemeldet, da er die Situation ebenfalls gesehen hat und fand das nicht in Ordnung). Gut, dann hatten wir immerhin schon einen Zeugen.
Das Zimmer war sehr gross, sauber und einladend. Das Frühstück war einfach und von einem Gourmet-Frühstück am Sonntag (laut Website) hatten wir nichts gesehen. Das Frühstück war für die 4 Tage, die wir hier waren jeden Tag gleich. Wir reisen sehr viel und bleiben dementsprechend auch in vielen 5-Sterne Hotels. Das wir am Samstag jedoch um 09:30Uhr zuerst einmal 20min anstehen müssen, ist auch noch nie vorgekommen. Als wir platziert wurden, hat uns die Servicesmitarbeiterin gar nich

This hotel is elegant and nice, accommodating staff, lovely, spacious rooms and bathrooms, nice pool area as well. When I’m only giving three stars then it is due to three things: Parrots in a very small cage, I found that heartbreaking and unnecessary, location is good but a bit far from the city centre if you want to walk and last thing is the breakfast buffet - it is lovely but limited options for vegans.

Overall I would recommend this hotel but would personally not choose it again.

enttäuschend, dass man sich auf das sehr umfangreichend besetzte Receptionsteam nicht verlassen kann. Ich war die letzten Wochen mehrfach zu Gast und die Koordination mit Hotels.com funktioniert nicht. Weder erhält man die upgrades, noch wird der room credit gutgeschrieben. Auf Reklamation und Beschwerde wird auch nicht eingegangen, wenn man sich vorab persönlich mit einem Mitarbeiter an der Reception abgestimmt hat.

Zuerst nicht das gebuchte Zimmer bereitgestellt, nach ca. 2 Stunden und Nachfragen war das Zimmer fertig, Bad überschwemmt, Wasser fließt schlecht ab, Kosmetik im Bad hatte für uns sehr aggressive Wirkung, in der Bar Live Musik bis 17:30 (?)
