The man at the reception desk (forgive me for not knowing his name) was very exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. The spa and pool was quiet. The location would be difficult to beat. All in all I would rate this as one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. We stayed in an executive room, which I highly recommend as an executive lounge is available throughout the day to grab a coffee, cold drinks or nibbles.

There is no baggage service, and the room does not have air conditioning—only a fan is provided for ventilation, which does not meet the conditions mentioned in the listing. Additionally, the breakfast charges vary each time due to my children, which seems inconsistent. Furthermore, any room service requests incur an additional charge of €8, which is unexpected for a hotel that claims to be five-star. Overall, I’m not satisfied with the experience.

We stayed in the Marriot last year for about 10 or 12 days or they were doing the re-Ferb which was manageable noise levels this year we are really shocked to find if you want a bottle of water you had to check out and check in again same if you want to teabags in the room there’s people queueing up for breakfast to steal the teabags from the breakfast room not a good look there is a few security issues when we were there somebody had their bag taken at breakfast time does it open door every morning in the bar area so they can just walk in and walk out there’s no security around after working in hotels for 34 years somebody needs to own this problem because it will just get worse these people talk to each other.

The hotel was lovely throughout, the pool, gym and sauna all great and excellent opening hours. Bar and lobby lovely places to sit. My only issue was there wasn’t any milk in the room for my drink, although the bar kindly gave this. The cost of breakfast was pricey when it is the same cost for adults and children. We therefore did not eat breakfast in the hotel

Everything is the average level for Marriot, but the staff in counter refused to put my Marriot membership in, instead of putting a stranger’s membership number for collecting points. I felt disappointed about this.

We stayed for just a couple of nights to visit our son who lives locally. We had an excellent stay and were especially impressed by the staff in the Piano Bar, Kim and Nick in particular. They were friendly and effecient and made us feel rotally welcome. A definte asset to the hotel.

The Marriott is centrally located, within easy walking distance to the City Hall, the Hamburg Congress Centre where my conference was. It was a nice stroll to the Hauptbahnhof too. The room is lovely and the bed so comfortable. The hotel lobby is elegantly furnished. The buffet breakfast has a good spread. We were there for one week and we enjoyed the breakfast every morning. All the hotel staff were lovely and very helpful.

Great location very near to the Christmas markets and upmarket shops and restaurants.

Parking was not included and was expensive (40 euro a day), it took some time to find a space we could park in though it was a busy time.

Hotel has a spa / pool in the basement which was viewable from street level if someone made the effort to. Kids liked playing in the pool (there were no restrictions when this could be used by children which some places do have). Water didn’t seem very hot to me but I like my bath/shower scalding.

We didn’t try the food but the bar was nice and had a chilled vibe with high quality drinks offering and was popular with guests. Staff were professional and helpful.

Disappointing Stay at Marriott Hamburg

The hotel is going through renovations in certain areas. Our executive room had just been completed and was pristine and very clean. However the normal executive lounge was still being renovated and we were directed to a temporary lounge next to the breakfast area. Unfortunately because this arrangement reduced capacity during breakfast it created long queues during the peak period in the morning and despite the efforts if staff people were eating breakfast in the bar areas and in the temporary executive lounge. I feel the hotel should have advised at the time we booked that renovations were planned during our visit as we may have considered changing the timings if our travels through Germany.

Top class hotel in a great part of town, close to shops, bars, restaurants and public transport. My only bugbear is the TVs in the bedrooms have a wooden frame around them meaning i couldn't connect my laptop with a HDMI cable to watch Netflix.

Unusable Pool, Poor Gym, and poor customer servic.

I recently stayed at the Marriott expecting a refreshing getaway centered around enjoying the pool. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a major disappointment. While the hotel boasts a premium price tag, upon arrival at the pool around 11 am, I was informed by staff that it was unusable for cleaning until after 4 pm. This significantly disrupted my plans for the day, as spending time by the pool was a major reason for choosing this hotel.

Disheartened, I decided to use the gym as an alternative. However, the gym was small and poorly equipped.

To add to the disappointment, the pool area itself was poorly maintained. The water dispenser offered not only lukewarm water, but also rancid-looking cucumbers floating inside. This was not what I expected from a supposedly high-class hotel.

I brought these concerns to the front desk, hoping for some form of follow up but no one did. At the check out, they offered a 10% discount on my bill, which felt dismissive. I wasn't looking for a discount, but rather an acknowledgement of the inconvenience and some effort to improve my stay.

Overall, my experience at the Marriott fell short of expectations on multiple levels. The unusable pool, the small and poorly equipped gym, and the inattentive service in addressing my concerns were all significant drawbacks.

Miniature Wonderland Stay

This is my second time staying at the HAMBURG MARRIOTT ABC Strasse. The hotel is doing well and although it has been around for a long time it has a new feeling as it is kept to a really high standard and is really clean and comfortable. This hotel is really well situated in a very nice area of Hamburg very close to any attraction that you want. I will always stay at this hotel when I visit Hamburg.

Expensive hotel in the centre of Hamburg but worth the money. Easy valet parking, fantastic executive lounge with lovely food and drinks everyday. Outdoor bar area so relaxing after a busy day sight seeing.

En virkelig og ultra god oplevelse at bo på jeres hotel.
Servicen var helt i top og personalet var yderst behjælpsomt. Vi var en familie på fire afsted med to drenge på 12 og 15, havde booket et værelse med to dobbeltsenge. Drengene var ikke så meget til at skulle sove under samme dobbeltdyne, så da vi spurgte efter en ekstra dyne kl. 21, så gik der under en halv time før der blev banket på døren og vi fik to enkelt dyner.

Morgenmaden var fantastisk og igen utrolig god betjening, hvor vi blev spurgt hvad vi ville have at drikke og drengene blev budt varm chokolade.
Lørdag morgen i uge 7 var der mange gæster på hotellet og det gik lidt ud over servicedelen i forhold til om fredagen.

Men det er helt sikkert et sted vi godt kunne finde på at overnatte igen.

Kæmpe, dejligt, rent værelse. Stor, skøn seng og stor TV-skærm samt.kaffe, te og vand på værelset - og køleskab. Fantastisk bar med restaurant på hotellet. Der var levende pianomusik, og super stemning. De lukker ret sent, så jeg nåede at spise aftensmad der efter min ankomst. Virkelig sødt personale på hotellet, og rengøringen havde ryddet fint op i mit rod på badeværelset. God morgenmad i hyggelig restaurant. Frisklavede omeletter og stort udvalg generelt. Beliggenheden er også helt i top. Jeg vil helt sikkert komme igen.

Måtte vente ca. 15 minutter på plads i en overfyldt morgenmadsresturante. Ikke lige hvad man forventer af et 4 stjernet!
