This is a beautiful hotel- lovely rooms decorated with sophistication and high ceilings. Service was impeccable also in the Brasserie and Petit Tortue restaurants. Well situated for shopping and seeing the city.

Room was lovely with very high ceilings giving feeling of space. Hotel is very close to shopping area though the area is a bit devoid of atmosphere early morning, evening and night.

Food and beverage is very expensive in the hotel and I do draw a line at 30 Euros for breakfast.

We liked the architecture of the building with a court space, the bronze turtle at the entrance and the shower space in the room. The brasserie where we dined overlooks the court and it was a good option during the summer. the breakfast area is also quite pleasant. The breakfast menu is a little heavy on the egg side and the cake choices in the vitrine were not promptly replenished when out of available slices.

Not worth the hassle

Really enjoyed our stay at the time. However, upon check-in hotel took a deposit on my card which was due to be refunded at checkout. In spite of paying in full upon departure i am still waiting on a refund of this amount almost a month later. Hotel has assured me that it has been credited back but this hasnt happened and have had to contact my credit card company to resolve. Due to this fraudelnt activity I cannot recommend and would not return.

We really enjoyed our short stay at Tortue.

Very impressed with location of hotel. The finish of the lobby, brasserie and room were outstanding. Nice touches like complimentary mini bar.

The staff were always extremely pleasant and helpful.

The on site Bar Noir had very nice cocktails and it was lovely to sit out on the terrace in the evening. Pricing was fine, much like any other hotel bar. The one anomaly was a surprise €12 bottle of water which I thought was excessive.

Overall I’d highly recommend this hotel for a short break

Beautiful stay at the Tortue in Hamburg. The staff is amazing and the hotel is beautiful. Loved the fact that it is dog friendly and very clean. If you bring a pet make sure you call ahead of time to let them know so they can prepare a pet friendly room. I would definitely stay here again. Only downside is the parking offsite is $$$, as is the overnight fee for valet (both 37euro for 24 hours). If you go a little further out you can probably find more affordable parking but it was too convenient for us to do so. Would definitely recommend you stay here!

Awesome location, super central, easy to get around with train or by foot to the beautiful city center/ Alster. Great design, the vibes are right up my alley, modern, classy and cozy. Great bears and restaurants that are part of the hotel. Also dog friendly which is super important to us!

What I disliked was that the Wifi was absolutely horrendous and barely working up in our room (4th floor)

superb location, stylish hotel

Hotel is very stylish and modern. As a regular visitor to Hamburg I have stayed in many hotels around the city and this has been by far the most convenient location and a great base for a weekend. It is within walking distance to the Speicherstadt, Rathausmarkt for Christmas markets, Jungfernstieg, St Pauli etc. The location was the most attractive perk of this hotel. The room itself was sleek and spacious. We liked the attention to detail and tortoises. The bath tub was huge and underfloor heating in bathroom was great. Being in room 111, seemingly the smallest on the floor we could hear the loud music from the bar (?) on Saturday night but having done so much walking I was tired enough to sleep through it. It’s not the first time I have booked via hotels.com and seemingly got the smallest room on the floor. It was perfectly adequate but to be honest I was disappointed with the hotels.com booking experience - nothing to do with the hotel. It may well have been the only room at a certain price but I don’t remember having a choice using the app.
Hotel staff were helpful when I left a pair of boots in the room and otherwise we were out much of the day so didn’t see lots of people within the hotel.
Bed very comfy, road noise negligible which was good as it’s quite a big road we were overlooking. Toiletries smelled amazing in the bathroom. If I’m being really picky I could have used more tea bags and made use of fresh milk but that’s a tiny point that didn’t disrupt our stay!

The hotel gives a unique, warm feeling and is centrally located within the city. The room offered everyting I was looking for and was very calm.
I can't say anything about the breakfast, as it was with 35 EUR far beyond our company set limit. But a bakery just on the other side of the street is a good alternative.

The hotel was beautiful, clean and staff friendly. The only thing I would recommend is a better air conditioning. Thankfully it was cool outside and left the Windows opened to cool the inside of the room. However, the noise from outside did not let us sleep especially when we tried taking a nap with the sounds of Mariachis playing outside. This was addressed at the front desk but nothing was done about it. Other than that, the hotel is great! Just better AC system. 👍

The hotel it self and the location are great. The breakfast program and service for it totally suck. The day we were leaving we were informed taxis were unavailable due to some marathon and Harley event. We tried to book a van at the front desk the night before and were advised this was not necessary as plenty of taxis were available on short notice on Sundays. We almost missed our train to Berlin.

All round, fantastic hotel. Very comfortable room, excellent amenities and complimentary minibar which was actually replenished. Cannot fault this place in any respect whatsoever. On the first morning I woke up there was a little bag hanging from my room door handle. On opening I found it to contain some Stollen. A very nice festive touch! I chose this hotel based on it's close proximity to my business appointments but also you will find it to be within very easy walking distance of Hamburg's main shopping district on Neuer Wall and Jungfernsteig. Would definitely stay again.

Wir hatten einen super Aufenthalt im Tortue. Von der Ankunft , dem Check-In bis zur Sauberkeit sowie der Ausstattung im Zimmer war alles top! Die Lage ist sehr praktisch, man ist in wenigen Minuten an der Binnenalster und bei einigen Einkaufsläden, trotzdem war es im Hotel selbst ruhig.
Ich würde das Tortue immer wieder zur Übernachtung in Hamburg wählen.

Das Hotel ist ausgezeichnet. Die Zimmer sind grosszügig, ruhig und sauber. Das Opernhaus, die Kunsthalle, das Rathaus, viele Shopping-Möglichkeiten und Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Zum Frühstück kann von von der Karte wählen. Die Auswahl ist gross und Speisen werden frisch zubereitet.

MUS i restaurant og dårligste behandling.

Vi blev taget fint imod da vi ankom og har besøgt stedet flere gange. Havde glædet os til vores traditionsrige tur med middag i brasserie. MEN midt under middagen kommer der 3 små fede med frem omkring vores ben i restauranten - Brasseriet. Helt uden at trække en mine fortalte tjenere at det havde de døjet med længe!!! Vi afbrød vores middag i ubehag og blev tilbudt at få maden serveret i receptionen, så var klart nej. Vi nåede at tale med 5 forskellige der ikke kunne tage stilling til hverken vores middag eller ophold som var ødelagt. Næste dag var den ene af os meget syg med dårlig mave. Ved afrejse bad de endda om betaling for restaurant besøg og ophold. Igen talte vi med to i receptionen der intet ansvar eller beslutninger kunne tage. En forfærdelig oplevelse!
