The position is fantastic and the restaurant is very good. Rooms are comfy and the shower was excellent complete with towel warmer. Small fridge in the room was appreciated but there was nowhere to make a cuppa, either in the room or a communal area. We were there for the Parade of Cruisers. Excellent weekend.

(ENG) I have stayed here twice passing through the city and both times found it the ideal location. Immediate access to the Landungsbrucken train station and a short walk to many incredible restaurants set the stage for any length of stay in Hamburg.

Overall the hotel was excellent and is in a fantastic location.
The rooms are well appointed and clean.
The staff professional and helpful.
It has great bar and restaurant facilities which are resonably priced.
My only criticism is over the cost of the parking facilities. Its underground public parking, but the hotel has elevators directly down there. Given this and the cost of the rooms at the Hafen, I would have liked to see the parking subsidised and not just full public cost (around €30 per day).

Breakfast way overpriced at 27€ per person.
Hotel layout confusing, 3 separate buildings with the only common connection was a parking lot. No common hallway. Our room number was 40502. It took us two attempt’s to find the right elevator. Nice view from rooftop bar but to small and limited menu.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to have walkable access to major attractions, conveniences to the subway at the Landungsbrucken station with an efficient and friendly staff.
The hotel was very clean, property well maintained and it offered the most wonderful breakfasts overlooking the Elbe River.

Rude staff, they don’t know their job very well, customer service 0, they didn’t check us in on time (at 3pm) and asked us to return later, we had a job to do and in our return at 11pm, they allocated wrong rooms (against what we paid for and asked) and said we cannot changed it and if you don’t like, you can go to another hotel. Simple! Without saying sorry! Dont expect a nice room with any view, it is a waste of money!

I chose to stay here because it was very close to the water and had seemingly great views. It was a very close distance to the tour boats and has large stairs leading down to the river. It is a very cool property. When booking, I looked at each room and selected this one because it was the only room showing a balcony and river view. When we checked in, I was given a room with no view at all. Somewhat deceived, I called the desk and she had one to switch me into saying I had the choice (I didn’t have any choices at booking.) but I appreciated how easy it was to get what I thought I paid for! The hotel is full of fascinating maritime decor and unique pieces of history - we loved to admire the lobby and hotel bar. Parking our car was pretty in the ramp, and was located directly underneath our hotel tower.
The only thing I’m bummed about it that given how I booked this hotel for the view, the tower bar was the largest part of that. It was a big draw. My ancestors emigrated out of this harbor so the view was important to me! The tower bar was closed for maintenance the two evenings we were there… we weren’t even allowed to look at it. Had I known, I would have chose a different hotel honestly.
We certainly still enjoyed our stay; but we only stayed two days and one night so I was trying to make the most of it. I would recommend this hotel, and stay there again if we had access to all of the treasures.

This place was great! Excellent location with amazing views from the restaurant and Tower Bar. Many bars and restaurants in a short walking distance. The Hard Rock Cafe is just down the hill, on the Landbrucke. The Reeperbahn is a short walk and has many bars and restaurants. The room even had a apple provided every day to keep the doctor away. The apple was literally on a stand with that saying below it. How cool is that? I highly recommend this hotel.

Overrated hotel with incredibly noisy night!

Truely an overrated hotel. No facilities whatsover, it just has a good location. Room is terrible, size is ok, bathroom as well but the location.... it was above a train track so till very late at night and then again very early morning incredible noise!! Worst sleep in ages! Weird paying top bill to get a bigger room and then it has such a location. Also the room is in another building with a weird deserted entrance.

Breakfast was nice but why 24 euro?!?!?!

Overall overrated hotel!!

Was on the 8th floor in the tower, vey nice view of the river, but even with windows closed you can hear the rumble of the tube trains going past the building lower down and this can disturb you on the early morning if you are not used to noise. Also only one pillow - but once asked another was supplied so good service.

The decor is not chic contemporary and the property is well maintained and impeccably clean. The bathroom was recently remodeled. Great location near Dom and harbor.

Very quirky, friendly hotel. Stayed 2 nights on a business trip. Room was small but well organised and very clean. Breakfast area was very busy but I did go at peak time. Room had no tea/coffee making facilities and as there was so room service I couldn’t order one either when I got back late after a dinner - but I’m sure that’s covid related rather than the hotels fault. They stored my luggage for me after I checked out which helped too. Very easy to walk to central Hamburg from here.

The room had no A/C, which in the current Europe summer made the room very uncomfortable, even at night, but the worst was that we were changed 20 euros per person for the breakfast buffet, the same kind of mediocre breakfast buffet that’s included for free in any Holiday Inn.

Don't Stay Here in the Summer - no A/C - Very HOT

Highly disappointed with my stay. Room has no A/C and was miserably hot. No screen on windows meant that if I opened them (as advised by staff) that bugs would come fly in. My room was filled with bugs during the night because of the bright outside lights just outside my window. Staff was unhelpful when I brought it to their attention.

Give it a miss.

It was 105 degrees outdoors. The hotel room room had no air conditioner. There were no room windows to open and we were not able to leave the door open because security would be compromised. The room view was stunning. However, because the sun hit our floor to ceiling glads doors for much of the day, it was impossible to relax in the room. The room fan worked very well, circulating hot air evenly through the room. We sweltered for two nights. It was a relief to leave. Hamburg is a wonderful, energized city. We will be back. But we won’t stay at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg.

An excellent hotel with friendly, professional staff and great amenities . The room was imaculate with very comfortable beds. It is in a superb location with views over the Elbe and close to transport links. It is only a 10 minute taxi ride to the centre and shopping district. I can highly recomend the Hotel Hafen and will definitely stay there on my next visit to Hamburg.

Rent og pænt værelse. Ikke særlig stort og med delvis udsigt til havnen. Der manglede en plads til kufferten hvor man kan stille den på. Morgenmaden var ikke inkluderet og kostede 27 euro pr person det var vi for nærige til og gik ned til en nærliggende bager hvor man kunne få morgenmad for to personer til 17 euro. Vi har ellers haft et godt ophold.

Tyvärr saknades AC på rummen och det blev väldigt kvavt och instängt. Bordsfläkten hjälpte inte så mycket och väsnades på natten. Bra läge och restauranger tyckte vi men inte prisvärt med tanke på avsaknad av luftkonditionering.

Find another hotel for your money

Do not waste your money to stay at this hotel. First of all, they do not have AC which I think for the price is to be expected. If you stay I the room where I stayed you cannot have the window open either because of a really loud train passing very close by.
The rooms are really old and outdated, the cleaning lady started cleaning before breakfast ended, the parking garage offers VERY narrow spaces (more French-sized than German-sized) difficult to fit a Passat for instance.
The layout of the hotel is super strange, do not expect to stay in the ”nice” building that holds the reception.

The sheets and overall bedding were quite nice.

Wir waren in 2 unterschiedlichen Zimmern während unseres Aufenthaltes. Beide waren super sauber & gepflegt. Wir hatten nichts zu beanstanden.
Das einzige was man dazu sagen könnte, wäre das man zu dem vorhanden dünnen (sehr bequemen) Kissen noch ein größeres bekommen würde. Dann könnte man, wenn man z.B. ein Buch liest, sich besser anlehnen. Aber das ist „meckern“ auf hohem Niveau, da dass Kissen was man dort hat zum schlafen für mich & meinen Partner perfekt war.
So eins hätte ich gern auch zuhause.
Das Personal war auch sehr zuvorkommend & hilfsbereit.
Die Lage des Hotels ist auch super da man, wenn man Glück hat direkten Hafenblick hat & keine 5 Minuten zu den Landungsbrücken laufen muss.
Wir kommen definitiv wieder, wenn wir das nächste Mal in Hamburg sind.

Leider können wir das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

Dusche: Der Wasserabfluss war verstopft, sodass nach den Duschen der gesamte Badezimmerboden unter Wasser stand. Nachden wir dies gemeldet haben, wurde der Abfluss gereinigt.

WLAN: Im Zimmer funktionierte das WLAN überhaupt nicht, was gerade auf Reisen sehr unpraktisch ist.

Verlorene Ohrringe: Besonders enttäuschend war der Umgang mit vergessenen, für uns sehr bedeutungsvollen Ohrringen. Wir haben den genauen Standort angegeben, dennoch wurde nur oberflächlich in der Fundgrube nachgesehen. Weder das Zimmer noch das Reinigungspersonal wurde kontaktiert. Statt uns ernsthaft zu unterstützen, wurde die Verantwortung einfach auf uns abgewälzt. Für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie ist das inakzeptabel und äußerst respektlos.

Klimatisierung: Es gibt keine Klimaanlage. Bei Außentemperaturen von 35 °C hatte das Zimmer gefühlt 40 °C. Der kleine Ventilator brachte keinerlei Erleichterung. Ein offenes Fenster in der Nacht war keine Option, da die U-Bahn direkt am Hotel extrem laut zu hören ist. Schlafen war so kaum möglich.

Personal: Insgesamt empfanden wir das Personal als eher unfreundlich und wenig hilfsbereit.

In der Summe war der Aufenthalt leider nicht zufriedenstellend.

Grei beliggenhet, og hotellet fremstår fint. Var nok uheldige med rommet hvor det luktet vondt. Ga beskjed om lukten men ingen respons annet enn takk for at jeg sa i fra. Greit med gateparkering ved hotellet. Trivelig spisesal, og god frokost. Kort vei til sentrum. Reiser gjerne tilbake hit, men håper på et rom som ikke lukter så ille.
