Great hotel; awesome location, very modern, awful check in process. It’s all manual and absolutely not necessary. The girls in the office are great and will help but it’s a silly system especially after a long day of travel. Pack your patience.

The self check in went easy enough although had already done most of it online. Room was great with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Probably only thing that could have been better was the cleaning on the 3rd day which was fairy pointless other then changed towels. We ended up with nothing to wash up with as the cleaner took it!

Good location. Near to public transport, cafes and restaurants. There is also a well stocked Rewe supermarket nearly.
The bells sounding from St Michael's church can be a little annoying in terms of noise.
Large, will presented room that was well furnished and supplied with crockery, cutlery etc. The room had a good sized fridge, a microwave/grill, electric stove top, a kettle, Nespresso machine, and a toaster. Larger mugs for tea would have been helpful.
There were only really two items that fell short.
The bed was on the firm side for my preference and all the pillows were saggy.
The check in/check out process was reasonably straightforward although you do need to remember your booking reference number to make things a little easier.
I would would happily stay there again.

Overall a really great hotel. There are only minor things like teabags,one dishwasher tablets more and ensure that the electric carparks only used by electric cars.
Highly recommended for a weekend or business trip to Hamburg. We will come back

This was a lovely one night stop near the Portuguese area of Hamburg. Easy to walk around and also easy to get lost. Room was lovely and spacious. Very clean. Staff friendly only issue was the language barrier. But you can work through that.

We were unable to check in due to a fault with the online system and there was no one available at the office as it was after 5.30pm. We had to wait over 20 mins for a security person to allow us into the room. Aside from this we had a good stay and staff were very helpful.

A very nice place

There are some hotels you stay at out of necessity and then there are the places you are actually looking forward to. This is one of the latter.

I've now stayed in four different rooms (including the suite) and loved them all. All of them have been spacious and the place had all the amenities I wanted.

Love the area it's situated in, that there's a parking garage, the always welcoming staff and the very nice beds.

Often, when on a road trip thru Germany, I'll gladly take a detour just to stay here. :-)

The apartment is located in a very good place where tourist attractions are nearby and a supermarket(REWE) is just 1 min walk.

The room was clean and big enough. Kitchen and cooking equipments were included so we could cook our dinner and breakfast ourselves.

The most disappointed thing is that air conditioning was not installed in the room. Since we arrived at the time heat wave just passed, it was not easy to stay without air-con.

The rooms have seen a lot of ware and rigour. Torn carpets, scuffed walls, mould in the bathroom take away from the good sized rooms and location.

The hotel is well situated close to a train station, the ElbPhilharmonie and the old Hanseatic port. We had a spacious "deluxe" room facing the restaurants on the street. It was lovely to have breakfast there in the morning sunshine. In the evenings, we closed the bedroom window to cut down on any sounds from the street. The kitchen was well equipped for a short stay. Note that they only clean the room every three days - you need to wash dishes daily to have enough for the next meal.

Lovely, friendly staff. The room was clean and large with everything we could have wanted. It's in a great place. Only issue was the noise at night as our room was directly above a very popular restaurant. It didn't cause too much problem but we had to play classical music on the radio to drown it out. I would recommend Hans Clipper Haus, maybe take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

The room was lovely and had everything but the finishing touch was walking into the room with music playing softly and creating a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The duplex flats were great, with balcony. I had an 8-yr old daughter to entertain on the rainy weekend in December in Hamburg. Could walk to all the winter markets. Also easy walk to Landungsbruken. Nearby restaurants and well-stocked REWE a huge plus.

While the room was comfortable and nicely furnished, the service was disappointing. I was there with a colleague on business and from check-in, requested two separate bills as the costs were shared. The day before check out, I reminded the staff I required two bills and they said this would be delivered to my room later in the day. When I returned, they had printed out a single bill with only one name. The next morning, we had to rush to make our flight as we were stuck at front desk explaining that, as requested and agreed, we needed a bill with BOTH names on. It was finally emailed 2 days later. The room wasn't the cleanest (stains on bedroom wall, hair in bathtub, a lot of food crumbs on the sofa) and when the cleaning staff came to the room after a few days, they took the soap and hair shampoo bottles but did not replace them so we had to go buy our own! The location is very good but the Portuguese Quarter is loud and there is a lot of smoking and yelling, etc. so this may not be best for business or family travellers.

City break post 9 night Baltic cruise

Arrived after a 4 hour train journey to a beautiful clean apartment. 4 minute walk from the S1 train station. Location is perfect for walking to all the main attractions. We had a brilliant 3 nights at this location and would defiantly return.
There is no air conditioning in the apartment which may prove difficult in warm temperatures.

The place is really clean and well equipped. The staff are fantastic and really helpful before and during your stay! The apartment was great... really spacious and you absolutely cannot fault it. The only thing that would pull it down is probably not something they can do much about. We stayed during the heatwave and there are no aircon or fans so it was pretty uncomfortable at night. I’m not sure it’s completely fair to hold that against the property. If you visit during a normal temperature, it will no doubt be very comfortable as the bed linen is lovely.
The apartment is really close to a train line and supermarket so prime location.
Would highly recommend!!

The apartment is quite comfortable with all the amenities you might need. Restaurantes across the street and groceries too. Metro near at 3 min walk. Spacious and comfortable only missing a fan because it was too hot. The staff very helpful and with good English. I would stay again and I’m tough to please.

Good location, in a lively part of town with many restaurants literally on the doorstep. We were upgraded but they forgot to add extra bed, which when reminded they did. Reception very helpful, but this is not a modern building, so some areas of apt were showing their age. We stayed one night and it was fine as somewhere convenient to sleep.

Lovey apartments, well equipped and great sound system. A more regular service (daily instead of every three days) and a laundry facility in the rooms would make them perfect. As a minimum each room needs an iron and ironing board.
Be aware there is no breakfast in the hotel but a lovely cafe up the road and supermarket if you want to cater for yourself in the more than adequate kitchen.

Courteous and friendly reception staff, adequate internet, good location, and laundry facilities. Good location near the harbor and close to the S bahn with direct access to the city center and airport.

Very noisy.. Had to upgrade (€30 daily more) to a duplex business apt (very inconvenient negotiating stairs in our mid to late 60s) with 2 TVs we did not view and a balcony we did use due to the noise outside as the comfort apt we were allocated, although spacious, was not the one in the photo with the sofa adjacent to the bed. Moved in the middle of our stay (as business apt was not available for our entire stay period and my husband fell making the duplex layout inconvenient as the bathroom was on the 1rst floor) to a very nice comfort apt as the one that was pictured when we reserved. It was very nice, although noisy, with the sitting area far from the bed and the bed area offered the privacy we wanted.
I was alerted from the previous reviews and we happily and willingly brought our Nespresso coffee capsules, shampoo, shower gel, shower cap and laundry detergent with us ascthe hotel only privides 2 Nespresso capsules and shampoo/shower gel for one person. The apt is cleaned every 3 days when they replenish the 2 coffee capsules but no shampoo and shower gel.
Additionally, the weather was warm and there was no air conditioning forcing us to keep the windows open to a noisy park full of noisy, homeless people and children
until late (11:00 p.m.).

We went to Hamburg for the Christmas fair and have a relax. 10 mins from s-bahn. In a nice area. 10 minutes walk east to markets,Rathaus and shopping centres and 10 minutes walk east to Reeperbahn. Hotel room was way above our expectations with style,space and comfort. Very clean and peaceful. We was on top floor and had a good view from the floor to ceiling windows of st Michaels church. Supermarket just round corner for snacks and beer etc

EXCELLENT POSITION FOR EXPLORING HAMBURG!

This is an excellent place to stay for exploring Hamburg, most places of interest are within walking distance as are the trains. I would have given 10 out of 10 for everything but there was a tiny bit of mould in the bathroom and some flaking paint under a window otherwise the apartment was spotless. It would have been nice to be able to watch free of charge a TV channel in English other than the news channels.

Really lovely apartment. Comes equipped with a mini kitchen (no oven but two hobs, microwave, fridge/freezer, even a dishwasher) which we used when we didn't feel like eating out. There is a good sized supermarket on the next road to stock up on food, although there are loads of cute bars and cafés on the same road if you want to eat out. Really clean, sleek apartment with lots of little extras (surround sound system, magazines, fancy bathroom toiletries etc.) Also has a safe in the (walk-in!!) wardrobe. Five minutes walk to the nearest station, close to the harbour and you can see St Michaels church from the front of the complex. Great location, and the staff were super helpful, providing maps and local information.

Although Clipper House now seems a little run down, it is still a very nice place to stay, not least because of the perfect location in the harbour area of Hamburg. The rooms are comfortably large. The internet connection is too high, however. But all in all a very nice place to stay.
