Excellent hotel in a great location near to all the sights in Hamburg. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, room was great, bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent - lots of healthy and not so healthy options and made to order omlettes. Gym was well equipped. Bar lovely, room service quick and tasty. Definitely recommend

Staff were lovely. Room was OK but the shower was average. Person checking out next to me also complained of a blocked sink. On my level, the black duct tape covering worn carpet in the corridor was not a good look. And 36€ for breakfast where you get coffee out of a machine is a bit much.

Good location, nice big bed, dark quiet room with curtains shut!
Only qualm was how hectic breakfast was at 9:30 but they do suggest quieter times and it’s open 7-12pm so not too much of a complaint!

Was a nice hotel and was clean. service was good and bar service was ok. I think the price was very expensive considering breakfast was not included and was an additional €24-36 per day depending on the choice. In total for 3 nights stay including breakfast was €929...I feel there is far better value for money in the market which has breakfast included!

Positive: the location and the breakfast buffet.
Negative: a strong odor on all hallways and stairs, nobody could exlain it or get rid of it during my 14 hour stay. An open ceiling in my room which I believe was from someone working of the heating which did not work properly either.
I fell for this hotel because it is part of the Marriott family.

Great hotel, highly recommend

My family - two adults, two teens - loved everything about this hotel. The location was fabulous, we walked everywhere but had easy access to the underground trains - especially good as we were on the line that took us directly from the airport within 30 minutes. Great service at breakfast, very helpful reception staff. Beds were very comfortable. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Would definitely stay again. Bathroom was a little small with no bath, but that would be my only complaint.

Outstanding hotel; perfectly located.

Staff were amazingly responsive, friendly and informative. Of special note were the concierge and the head bartender both of which made our time in Hamburg exceptional. The hotel is well located for sightseeing, shopping, dining, walking, touring and use of public transit. I would highly recommend selecting this hotel for a stay in Hamburg.

Great stay. They're air conditioning was not working in the entire building, so they gave us a room upgrade, free breakfast, and a fan. Pretty much everything they could do for what was an unfortunate situation. So we were content with that. The room was warm, but we did ok.

The location is excellent, but the hotel was covered in scaffolding yet no work was being undertaken. We couldn’t get any hot water for more than 24 hours as the hotels hot water system was down. We had to wait for almost one hour to get a drink from the bar and after 35 minutes waiting to get the bill for our meal and drinks (The hotels Bricks Bar and Restaurant) we left and paid when we returned at midnight because no one was there to pay. Then we met Nay - the daytime bar tender! She was friendly, knew exactly what we wanted, and provided excellent service with a smile. She was so efficient and competent that we kept coming back when she was working.

Super helpful during a tricky time in Hamburg - strike of airport workers. Much more helpful than Expedia who did not lift a finger to help.

In other words, the hotel is strongly recommended. But book directly or through an alternative vendor to Expedia.

Expedia asked me to change my review. Not sure why 😂.

Sorry Expedia. Since I couldn’t find any obvious way to express my dissatisfaction (except via another lengthy painful and ineffective chat session - it would be my 4th in 24hrs), I am using this review to pass the message.

Disappointed.

Most importantly, the rooms are not sound proof. I heard the next rooms conversation, clearly, well into the night and was unable to sleep. Really surprised about this because I thought I was staying somewhere really nice. There was a bit of an odor in the hallways and tye carpeting in the room is stained and old. The staff is very nice and professional. Decent food from the bar.

The staff were very helpfull,especially Mr Kuda & Mr Mats, the Receptionists. They were really very nice. We appreciated our laughed & chatted.
The AC in the room was not working properly. No kettle in the room. The breakfast was ok, could be better. The hotel situated in the shopping area.

Fed beliggenhed, fin service og ok værelser. Desværre var der mus/rotter i restauranten, der løb rundt på gulvet om aftenen, hvilket er rimeligt ulækkert at tænke på, når man efterfølgende skulle spise morgenmad i selvsamme restaurant. Personalet tog meget let på det og trak blot på skuldrene.

We got a room in the 7th floor which you only can reach by climbing a stairway from the 6th to the 7th floor. The room was extremely cold even though the temperature at the temperature control panel was set to max. After we complained an electric heater was brought to the room.
We liked the breakfast and the overall appearance of the hotel and its closeness to the city.

Das Empfangspersonal wird immer unfreundlicher. Obwohl wir jedes Jahr hier übernachten. Dass unsere privaten Pfandflaschen aus unseren beiden Zimmern vom Personal mitgenommen werden, ist auch neu und nicht ok - im Gegenteil es ist beschämend.

Pænt og rent værelse, dejligt rummeligt.
Morgenmaden var fin, men ikke prangende.
Parkering koster 40 € i døgnet hvilket er samme pris som nærtliggende p-huse. Dog er der betydelig bedre plads på hotellets parkering, og personalet parkerer gerne bilen for dig. I
P-husene er pladserne så smalle at du næsten ikke kan komme ud af bilen.
