I arrived just after 9pm and were confirmed room service was available. After two visits to the reception, several searches of the room for a menu (which I was told was there twice) trying to go through their membership subscription I finally, at 9:35 got through to room service only to be told that kitchen closed at 9:30.. and they couldn't help.
I was also allocated a room with twin beds, I have asked for double, they could change the room in their systems, so I didn't get the room I had booked..

Hotel felt new as did the room. It was very good.
The bar was pleasent although for one of our two nights we were not allowed in because of a private function.
The hotel is in the perfect location, 5 minutes from the Central Train Station and close enough to the centre of Hamburg.
Some great restaurants close by that you may not come across unless you use a Hamburg guide book like Lonely Planet.

Good looking hotel, in an excellent location- just far away enough from the business of the station. Rooms were excellent, included free mineral water, and coffee pod machine; bar area good too. Rooms well insulated from noise outside, though air con was weak.
However, staff would ignore you, didn't say good morning, or even hello as you walked past. I did like the bar, but drinks frequently went off; sometimes table service, sometimes you went to the bar yourself. Otherwise I would recommend.

VERY convenient location for busses, trains, metro and walking to Old Town sights.

Hotel is nice though no amenities stand out. They do have a restaurant and bar if needed but plenty of nearby places to eat or drink at. You can rent bikes also.

Good value .. especially if you are touring the city.

This is the first time I stayed at this hotel It is relatively new, located very centrally in Hamburg. I liked the cleanliness, the breakfast and the room was good (A room with two single beds. The beds were on the small side and if you are taller then you might find them too short.) Most of the staff were friendly/helpful. I dined in the hotel 3 times because I needed to work. I would say the food was better than average, what I had was different and nice. However, on the first night I was told that there would be no food although I persuaded them to give me a Mysa Sandwich (good). On the second night I was told no food because there was a party on (when I complained I was told I could have the cold buffer at 35Euro) on the third night all was good. The time I went to dinner was 19:45 each night - so not really an extreme time.

Great hotel in a good location

Excellent hotel near central station. Room was large and well appointed. Staff were friendly and efficient from reception, restaurant and housekeeping. Hotel is on a busy road but there is no traffic noise. It is very central and we walked to most of the sites we wanted to visit. U Bahn station is directly outside hotel entrance. Liked everything about this hotel.

What a wonderful hotel! The rooms were delightful, the staff were excellent, and the location was convenient. Although I’m not sure how long the hotel has been around, it felt quite new due to its cleanliness and upkeep. However, the evening restaurant experience was disappointing; we spent a significant amount on a nice meal, but it didn’t meet our expectations against the cost.

Double charged for stay

I stayed 10 days. Booked hotel and payed online at hotels.com about six week before stay. Giving low rating because hotel kept charging stay on my credit card during my stay. I talked at three occasions to receptionist (5 of them overal present) and they ensured me that is how their computer system work, and there will be no charges at end of stay. However, I am still being charged and now upon return to USA disputing charges through my credit card. If you stay in this hotel make sure not to pay anything in advance. Otherwise, hotel is brand new, clean, and at convenient location, just few minutes by foot from shops and restaurants. Our room was small for USA standards, but bathroom and shower are really nice except for the hooks provided for towels or clothes; they slide down, I would bring one that hours over door with me. All personnel is in training and learning on the go and you will need to tolarate some inefficiencies if you book hotel soon.

Zimmer war soweit in Ordnung, Geruch etwas komisch.
Es wurde angekündigt, dass alle zwei Tage ein frisches Wasser im Zimmer steht, war innerhalb unserer 4 Tage nicht der Fall.
Das Frühstück war super, ausreichend und abwechslungsreich.
Der Zimmerservice ist etwas verbesserungswürdig, Zimmerteinigung um 16:00 ist etwas ungewöhnlich, meine Vermutung ist, dass hier etwas Personalnot herrscht.
Aber alles in allem, im Bezug auf den Preis, war alles soweit okay.
Würden wahrscheinlich dieses Hotel wieder wählen, da die Lage einfach ideal ist, 10min zu Fuß ist das Rathaus aber auch der Beginn der Speicherstadt erreichbar.

Das Hotel ist sehr nah am Hauptbahnhof gelegen, was wirklich praktisch war. Rathaus und Speicherstadt ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und sah frisch renoviert aus. Man hat auch nichts von den Nebenzimmern oder Lärm von außen gehört, wirklich super.

Zimmer waren gut und sauber! Bus oder Metro-Anbindung könnte besser sein, der nächst bus ist 300m weg, grundsätzlich aber sehr zentral.

Frühstück hat mir nicht so gefallen. Milch hatten sie diverse laktose frei etc aber keine normale Milch, nur 0.4% Fettarme milch, was sie als normale Milch angeschrieben hatten. solche Bevormundung muss nun wirklich nicht sein.

THe room was OK, I think the hotel was reasonably new. Breakfast was good.
I was surprised that the room was not cleaned in the 3 days I was there. I had a \"do not clean\" on the door the 1st day, but not the others. Can't say it's a general thing, because I don't know, but I will not be staying at Novotel again.
