Staff was nice and welcoming, rooms ate dated, my room was smell cigarette smoke. Close to train station and town centre. Bedding and bed wasn't comfortable. Especially pillows because of over used. For a budget and couple of days stay it was bearable.

The property is very close to train station and not particularly safe at night. The hotel was clean and comfortable but the elevator was kaput, so five + flights of stairs to contend with…elevator could barely hold 2 people. Hotel staff were despondent and didn’t seem to acknowledge anyone coming and going…not friendly

Very comfortable and pleasant stay when visiting for a conference. Great location and transport links. The only aspect to improve could be the breakfast - whilst all good and has a variety of options, these get a bit boring by day 3 of staying... guess you could always skip it and have something else elsewhere.

Worst bed ever slept in, terrible.

Well it’s not like the brochure as they say, it’s old almost antiquated and we had room 68 on the 6th floor which smelt of b.o. and the Chinese restaurant below with views of the walls. The beds were a disgrace, no hotel should have old battered mattresses with springs or whatever sticking through. There may be one room that looks like the promo shot but it wasn’t ours, for $200 a night it was a rip off. On the plus side the bathroom was clean and the breakfast good, better options must be available. John Wick wouldn’t stay here.

This hotel was well located for access to the S-bahn and U-bahn.

Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We would have liked to have had a kettle and extra pillows.

Property was in a great location. The inside was a bit tired and in need of tlc. When we were there only one lift was working, and only taking two people at a time, meaning long waits, or struggling up and down to the fifth floor. Breakfast was adequate, bathroom clean, plenty of hot water.

The hotel is in an excellent location for restaurants, fast food outlets and transport as the hotel is practically opposite the main train station.
Our room was adequate and clean. Continental breakfast was very nice. My only concern was the twin mattress. Mine kept sliding away and had a big dent in from someone quite heavy in weight I would say. I kept trying to fall off the bed. Once I changed the mattress around it was fine. I enjoyed my stay in Hotel Continental.

The room was clean but very small. Great view out window. We thought it was very noisy first two nights then realized the window was open at top. Once closed still noisy but less so. Across street from Central train and subway, one block from bus stop. Very convenient! Breakfast was good, Grrman style.

The first goal of an hotel is be able to sleep well to be in good shape the next day.

My comment is for summer, room located on Main Street. 2 choices, you try to sleep with the window open to limit the oven temperature (no AC, no fan, limited window opening), on a location with police alarm, ambulance alarm, truck, horn of car… Or second choice, door close and you cook slowly!
The day after the first night with 3.5 hrs sleeping between two horn or alarm, I asked for a room opposite side of the Main Street. The answer was no, as simple as that. I booked another hotel and I just decided to leave without refund possibility. Typically I don’t really care, but it was crazy like heel.

We stayed here for a quick overnight stop in Hamburg when we were coming from Amsterdam to Copenhagen. The breakfast buffet was lovely. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. There are some great restaurants, pubs etc right there in the area.

Not worth the money

This hotel is dated.
No kettle in room.
Very basic toiletries.
Tiny towels.
Maid knocked three times on morning of departure - I said we are leaving today so don’t need room clean and fit lecture to put sign on door, first time this has every happened in all my travels.
I booked double room and had tiny single duvet.
Staff at reception friendly but chaos checking in when they couldn’t find names on system and when leaving I attempted to tell them about maid but they were blank.

We have stayed here on and off for about 20years. Ideal location, excellent value, friendly staff, good breakfast. Rooms are small but adequate. You are only sleeping there. Spotlessly clean bathroom towels and bed linen. Need refurbishing but thats my only negative.

The room was clean and spacious. Shower stall was too small, and the shower curtain kept sticking to my wet skin. Too noisy in the morning because the cleaning supply closet was right outside our door. Lots of door slamming and loud voices from housekeeping personnel. We could smell cigarette smoke from the room next to ours. Close to train station, and restaurants.

This hotel is good for an overnight stay. Close to train station, shopping, and restaurants. The room was odd, in that, there was one door leading to two small rooms. I have never been in such an odd arrangement. I chose standard double by mistake. Thus, the strange arrangement. Staff was friendly and check in fast at exactly 3:00 pm.

The old lady at reception is extremely rude and racist. Instead of saying, “Can I please have your ID” she just yelled saying “ID!”. To the German people behind us she was super nice. Absolutely rude and racist, never met a person like that ever, extremely arrogant, she needs to realize it’s 2019 and colored people can travel too! Plus our nationality is Australian. There was only one pillow person which was flat as a piece of paper. The towels smelled, the toilet smelled really bad and a light in the room didn’t work. Only good think was the location, and other staff were nice and helpful expect for the that old, rude and racist lady at the front desk with short white hair who worked the mornings.

Proximity to train station, just across the road, with underground passage. Chinese restaurant literally NEXT DOOR. Paulaner just down the street.
German Buffet breakfast is excellent if you love cold cuts, cheese, pork bacon omellete, fruit jams, nutella and cereals.

Convenience and Breakfast met expectations!

The convenience of being opposite Main Railway station was ideal, convenient to cafes and supermarkets. The room was small with very little space on the side of the bed and did get rather warm and stuffy, made worse by closing the window to avoid outside noise. Most of the staff were pleasant and having chosen breakfast to be included, was a bonus. Lots of choice for a continental breakfast. Having lifts, (although small) was a real bonus to get luggage up to 3rd floor. Would definitely consider staying there again.
I would have appreciated a little more effort to locate an item believed to be left in the room, but overall a good experience.

opposit the main railway station what is handy
I got room 44 (level 4 out of six), looking into the inner courtyard with 10 meter high walls - it was not pretty
no airconditioning on a 29°C evening with no air coming through the windows.
the breakfast was ok - small room - small selection
the people at reception and at the breakfast area were nice
next time I would rather stay somewhere else - more modern - with windows or aircon - even if that is further away

Convenient, good room, would stay again

The hotel is across the street from the train station so it is very convenient. The room was a decent size and the bathroom wasn't bad either. I would say the pillows are very soft/worn, but I was able to ask for two extra ones. The mattresses were ok...firm (my husband liked it, I didn't as much). My main complaint is that the room was extremely perfumed. The scent was not unpleasant (probably cleaner or fabric softener) but it was very very strong. I left the windows open for a few hours before bed to ease it a bit...which of course made the room cold. To hotel management: use something less scented in the room, it was way too strong!

We liked the hotel. Good location, friendly staff, good breakfasts and we had good water pressure in the shower. We had no problem with noise and overall found it to our liking. The only minor complaint is that the feather pillows are too flat once your head sinks into them. A second pillow would probably help. We would definitely stay again.

Hvis man er glad for varme bade, så er det ikke dette hotel, man skal vælge.

Det er billigt, centralt og personalet er meget venlige. Hotellet er lidt uddateret, men det hænger selvfølgelig sammen med prisen.

I matsalen var golvet klibbigt 3 dagar i rad. Hade önskat att golvet torkades. TV:n fungerade inte, blev åtgärdad under vistelsen. En hiss trasig, det verkade som den varit det länge. Mycket slitigt. Sängarna var väldigt bra.
