I am lucky to get a room while every hotel was sold out due to the OMR festival.
But this is a seedy area near the train station, my room was a 3rd floor walkup with no lift, and the price for essentially a love hotel was about 3 times what it would normally be thanks to the demand.
This may be exactly what you look for, in which case it would rate more stars

Hotel ok, but so much noise throughout the night

Decent hotel, locatio near train station was why i booked. However. very noisy through the night with locals shouting and playing music in the street until daylight. Even had a group sharing a ceack pipe in hotel entrance on Friday night.
Staff very friendly, just take some very good earplugs

Enjoyable stay overall. Quiet and peaceful. The 5th floor room decor was quite different to most hotels - quirky but also dated. You have to not mind all the stairs each time you come and go to stay here. Breakfast was very fair for the price.

Decent Choice for the Price and expectations

Hotel was Clean, Staff welcoming; Location very handy for Station and City Centre. Overall standards / expectations were pretty much in line with it being an inexpensive choice. Had to ask Reception for a couple of things for the room but let's call that a minor glitch. Room was not as colourful as some of the pictures but then the pictures are no guarantee.

Funky decor in the room, but the furnishings were slightly dilapidated. The room was comfortable but not 100% clean. The ensuite bathroom was entirely made of glass and see-through! There was no lift so we had to walk up 10 flights to our room. The location was excellent, right next to the train station. The room was comfortably warm.

Hotel was just perfect with older interior, but places kept neat and tidy. I actually stayed at a shared bathroom room and found even that neat, tidy and fine. For the price I paid for the room, I was very positively surprised.

Close to the Main Train Station

The hotel was a 5 minute walk away from the main train station which is convenient if you are getting in late on the day, the area around the hotel was not pleasant in my opinion. There was no lift in the hotel to carry your luggage and I was placed at the top floor so I had to walk up 5 set of stairs which is not ideal for a disabled or elderly person. The room was clean but oddly decorated and I had a balcony which was a nice addition.

A quirky hotel (former brothel)

Unfortunately I only had a hostel room which isn't very interesting, but doing a bit of research I saw there are a lot of rooms left with the decor from the hotels kinky past.
The rooms are used for photo shoots for fashion and Hamburg lifestyle.
Both members of staff that I came across were friendly and forthcoming, The breakfast was outstanding. A true northern German spread.
If you ever make it here, pay the extra for a real room and not the hostel/shared bathroom one. The experience will be so much better.
Oh, and the location is amazing, too. Just a 5 minute walk from the main train station.

Beware if 3 star hotel

I booked a room in a 3 star hotel however I was not aware that the hotel had 3 star hostel rooms. Moral of the story is “let the buyer be aware”. Read the fine print of the hotel details.

Visited Hamburg for 3 days in between our Sweden Trip. Loved the personnel service and the large size of room. Upgraded room due to misunderstanding. No elevator / lift was the only disappointment

Convenient to the station but don't stay in #11

The location of this hotel isn't family friendly, although the actual Hotel is well appointed and clean. Note that it isn't accessible by people with low mobility as there is no lift. We had a room that overlooked a restaurant kitchen which resulted in a very noisy sleepless night. The linens were ripped in multiple places.
On the positive side the staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good and varied.

Is it really 3 stars hotel? more like a hostel~

The neighborhood of the hotel is not too great, a bit noisy, some trash and some homeless people around the area.
There's no elevator so if you have heavy luggage, you will have to carry to 2nd floor for check in and carry to 3-6 floor to your room, the hotel staff may not be able to help you all the time since they may only have 1 or 2 staff.
What I had is the single room with shared bathroom, the room is pretty simple setting. The shared bathroom is actually at another floor which the toilet room and shower room are separated, and you have to share with other 3-4 guests. The toilet room is not too clean and shower room is very small, it's not convenient.
My friends came and visited, they commented this is more like a hostel.

Basic hotel, with great breakfast

The room I had was reasonably clean, but the cleaning wasn't complete (no restocking of towels). The shared shower was really really small. The wifi didn't reach my floor. Most hostels I have stayed at were better, except for breakfast. The breakfast here was excellent.

Eclectic hotel, close to the main train station

The room decor was eclectic and bright, but I didn't mind it at all. There was good restaurants in walking distance. The wifi was free but patchy. However, I could generally reconnect quickly. There is no lift and the stairs are steep. As it was close to the Hamburg Hauptbanhof, it was very easy to get to wherever you wanted to go in Hamburg. I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was included and standard for Germany. There is no air con in the rooms but the windows open. I had no view from my window, but I don't tend to spend much time in my room when I'm traveling so this wasn't an issue for me. Overall, a pleasant experience. However, due to the stairs, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to people with poor mobility.

Fun funky comfortable in a great location

Good modest place, LGBTQ-friendly, fun and eclectic décor (but cluttered). I had a quiet room on the courtyard, which was great as I was just only using the room for sleeping. It's in a funky immigrant neighbourhood with loads of ethnic shops and cheap takeaway restos with a discount supermarket just a few steps away, and it's a five-minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof. Service was friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Wifi a bit spotty but this is true of most hotels. I had a budget room with shared toilet and shower, which was fine (and at a great price), tho the shower room is very cramped. This hotel is an excellent alternative to the boring generic corporate hotels that are taking over the world!

I liked the fact that his hotel had a bit of history to it. The personal was very helpful and they all spoke English. I don't know about the other rooms, but mine did not have A/C but it did have a strong little fan that kept me cool at night; it would also be nice to have a better mattress. Overall, little personal touches, the eclecticism of the decor, the location and the breakfast were very satisfying.

Værelset nr 24 honeymoon var hyggeligt i højrødt. Badeværelset lidt småt, men helt ok med hårtørrer. Personalet var meget hjælpsomt og gode til at huske hvad man kunne lide til morgenmad, De var gode til at agere turistguide. Et stort plus med sådan et venligt og hjælpsomt personale. Især Birgit i receptionen var bare tip top. God beliggenhed tæt på hovedbanegården og U Bahn 3.

Sentralt beliggende. Tæt på hovedbanen i et «livlig» område. Noget støy fra vareleveranser, men ikke meget til at være så centrums nært. Ok rum med gode senge. Badet er lidt trangt. Det er ingen elevator, så det kan være svært med at komme op og ned.

Sjovt hotel meget centralt beliggende. Meget venligt personale. Morgenmaden var rigtig fin. Men der er ingen elevator. Vores værelse lå på 5. etage, det tog snart livet af os med alle de trapper. Vi havde en hyggelig tagterasse, hvor vi havde udsyn over hustagene🙂

Für eine Nacht okay. Leider ohne Aufzug! Hatten ein Zimmer in der 5. Etage. Die Betten waren sehr weich und Bewegungen des Einen spürte auch der Andere. Das WC und die Dusche war nicht vom Rest des Zimmer vereinzelbar (offene Struktur). Frühstück war okay.

OK hotel close to Hamburg Bahnhof. Quite rough neighborhood, especially during the sundown hours.

There is no lift and many stairs to walk up (and carry your bags!!!) so be aware!

No Hotel lobby or luggage room. They were very kind to let us leave our luggage anyway when we arrived at 5:30 am.

The room was clean and ok with a fan. Breakfast ok. The Hotel was on all in all, a bit too provet, I would not stay again due to all the stairs/neighborhood/price.

Aus einem Bordell wurde ein Hotel

Es ist schon etwas schräg, aus einem ehemaligen Bordell ein Hotel zu machen, hat aber einen gewissen Charme. Allerdings mit Abstrichen und nicht für Jeden geeignet.
Das Hotel hat 20 Zimmer auf 5. Etagen verteilt und keinen Fahrstuhl. Da wird es schon zu einer sportlichen Herausforderung bis ganz nach oben oder wie bei mir in die 4. Etage. Wer schon Älter oder nicht mehr ganz so fit ist, sollte sich vielleicht lieber eine andere Unterkunft suchen. Ich würde auch davon abraten, Zimmer mit Gemeinschaftsbad zu buchen. Es gibt nämlich nur eine Dusche im gesamten Haus und befindet sich in der 3. Etage. Da ist die Sauberkeit leider nicht zu 100% gewährleistet. Das Zimmer war soweit OK, nur viel zu klein. Die Rezeption befindet sich in der 1. Etage, gleich daneben ist der Frühstücksraum. Das Frühstück war durchschnittlich, es könnte mehr Auswahl an Brot und Brötchen vorhanden sein und mit 14,50 Euro zu teuer. Das Personal war nett und freundlich.
Fazit: für eine Nacht völlig in Ordnung, wer länger in Hamburg bleiben möchte, sollte lieber ein anderes Hotel wählen, zumal die Umgebung in St. Georg katastrophal ist.

Nära stationen så kunde lämna av väskorna på morgonen när vi kom med tåg. otroligt coola rum och matsalen imponerade stort på 10-åringarna. Lugnt hotell, vi sov gott och åt frukost i lugn och ro innan vi fortsatte vår resa.

Für Leute die schwer Stiegen steigen nicht geeignet!Kein Lift.
Wohnten im fünften Stock, viele Stufen.
Aber für uns kein Problem.
Wer das Hotel am Steindamm wählt, muss sich im Klaren sein., das man auf der Straße alles findet, Bettler, Obdachlose…usw. , nur das hat man in der Hauptbahnhof Gegend auch bei den anderen Hotels! Haben uns aber nie unsicher gefühlt.

Sehr freundlicher Service.
Frühstück wird liebevoll zubereitet.
Ein Hotel mit ganz eigenem Flair.
Schade das das Doppelbett Zimmer unterm Dach dies nicht ganz widerspiegeln.
Es fehlte in dem Zimmer an die
Möglichkeit die Kleidung abzulegen und Hemden wie Jacken auf einem Bügel zuhängen.
Der Beckenstopfen ließ sich nicht
schließen.
Die Badetücher konnten nicht aufgehangen werden.
Das Bad wird mit zwei Deckenspot ausgeleuchtet und eignet sich mit der Helligkeit weder zum rasieren, noch kann man sich erkennen.
Wir behalfen uns mit einer Tischlampe.
Die Schiebeduschtür setzt beim aufschieben das Zimmer unter Wasser.
Die TV Sender sind unsortiert mit gesperrte Sender.
Dies soll aber nur als Anregung gesehen werden, es besser zumachen.
Wir bedanken uns das wir da sein dürfen.

Vorweg: kein Fahrstuhl. Wenn man wie wir mit Koffer in den 5. Stock muss ist das eine Zumutung. In der Hotelbeschreibung fehlt dieser wichtige Hinweis! Zur Sauberkeit: Spinnenweben von der Decke und ein Billigparavent (mit Aufdruck von NY) soll eine Dreckecke im Raum abtrennen, wohinter sich Bettdecken, Staubsauger etc. verbergen. Das ergibt Sinn, da die Zimmerreinigung beim minimalen Herrichten des Zimmers auch keine Lust hat, ihr Renigungszeug die Treppen hochzuschleppen....aber gehört sowas in ein Hotelzimmer??? Einzig das Frühstück war dann im Verhältnis ok. Für € 138 das Doppelzimmer steht die mangelhafte Leistung in keinem Verhältnis.

Super nettes Peronal sowohl am Morgen als auch am Abend und gutes, zweckmäßiges, völlig ausreichendes Frühstück. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass es solche originellen, charmanten, durch und durch angenehmen Hotels noch gibt mit dem besonderen Blick auf den Gast, der - ohne jgleiches Getue - sich von der ersten Sekunde an willkommen fühlt. Werde es wieder zu buchen versuchen. Fühlte mich zeitweilig wie in dem Film \"The Grand Hotel Budapest\".

Bra läge om än i tveksamt kvarter

Helt ok och nära Haubtbahnhof är ju bekvämt. Dock i ruggiga kvarter och med uteliggare sovande i entrén på morgon. Känns inte trevligt men ingen hotellet kan rå för.
Rum 5 trappor upp i med en rätt smal trappa bidrog inte till bekvämligheten. Rummet i övrigt kanske trevligt. Dock ingen avskildhet att få till badrummet som inte man hade möjlighet att stänga dörr till.

Hyggeligt ældre hotel med en fantastisk historie. Ja det er slidt, men pris og beliggenhed opvejer det. Der er ret megeg gadestøj, men det er vel at fovente med den lokation.
Morgenmaden var okay, det eneste minus er parkeringsforholdene. Den p-aftale der fremgår af hjemmesiden findes ikke. Så parker udenfor hamborg og tag toget ind.

We went for one night and we arrived late, and the man at the reception received us very well, with a very welcoming treatment, at check out the same thing happened. The room is large and with good heating, we do not feel noise. The decoration is a bit particular, but to get out of the ordinary we liked it. It is very close to the train station.

Saimme vaihdettua huoneen toiseen vähän parempaan huoneeseen, joka näytti jo hotellihuoneelta. Aamupalalla ei juuri ollut gluteenitonta tarjottavaa.

Centralt och familjärt

Fantastiskt trevlig personal på ett litet och familjärt hotell med rolig och annorlunda inredning. Läget är mycket centralt just vid tågstationen. Lugna och mysiga kvarter just runt hörnet även om gatan precis utanför kunde vara lite stökig och högljudd.

엘리베이트가 없음. 함부르크역 뒷쪽 부근이라 많이 시끄러움. 창문이 옛날 것이라서 소음 차단이 전혀 안됨. 에어컨 없지만, 냉풍기가 있음.

Individuelles, kleines Hotel mit Geschichte(n). Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Team. Liebevoll gestaltetes Frühstück. Lage zum Hauptbahnhof und zur Linie U3 grandios. Der Nähe zum Bahnhof ist aber auch geschuldet, dass in der Straße vor dem Hotel auch nachts viel los ist, es ist laut und manche Gestalten wirken wenig vertrauenserweckend. Wen das nicht abschreckt, sollte hier buchen. Kein Zimmer gleicht dem anderen, als Gast ist man hier keine Nummer. Ein Hotel zum Wohlfühlen.

Die Toilette im Zimmer, nur durch eine Glasscheibe getrennt, die Dusche im Deckenbereich massiv verschimmelt, kein Schrank/Regal zur Kleidungsablage, Zimmer im 5. Stock ohne Aufstieg (Vorbereich hat Speicheroptik)...
Vor dem Hotel viele Drogenabhängige, Prositution direkt vor der Haustür, Hotel schwer zu finden, da offensichtlich Hotelschildbeleuchtung defekt,
Garage im \"Partnerhotel\" vermüllt und im Einfahrtsbereich massiv mit Urin, Taubenkot etc. verscnmutzt

Eine schöne, mal etwas andere, Unterkunft. Super nah zum Bahnhof.
Personal ist freundlich.
Einzige Nachteil, die Doppelbettzimmer liegen im 5. Stock und es gibt keinen Fahrstuhl.
Dafür gibt's aber einen tollen Blick vom Balkon.

Placering er lige midt i Bulls-eye - så man ved at der kan være lidt støj.
Hotellet er lidt slidt, og nogle steder haltede rengøringen lidt, men alt i alt et godt ophold.

Also wir haben uns vorher informiert und wussten, dass das Hotel sowie die Einrichtung teilweise noch aus der Zeit ist, als das ganze Bordell war. Leider hat man das vielem auch angesehen. Das Bett quietschte so laut bei jedem Umdrehen, Bewegen, gefühlt auch beim Atmen. Der Duschkopf, allgemein die Dusche sah aus wie seid 20 Jahren nicht mehr gereinigt. Das Deckenlicht ging nicht. (Angeblich mit Bewegungsmelder funktional) Tapeten waren abgelöst, es stank im Zimmer. Das einzig gute war die Dachterrasse und der Ausblick. Dennoch war es das erste und das letzte Mal, dass wir in diesem Hotel genächtigt haben. Für den Preis definitiv. Im Internet sah das ganze sehr viel hochwertiger und schöner aus. Sehr schade. Die Idee hinter alldem mag ganz cool sein... aber leider hapert es an der Umsetzung.

호텔 위치는 중앙역에서 조금만 걸으면 되고 제너레이터 건물보다 1분? 뒤에 있는 정도됩니다. 거리 분위기는 중앙역에서 늘 느낄 수 있는 좋은 분위기는 아니고 위험하다기보다 주위하시면 좋을거 같아요. 저는 도착했었을때 입구에서 하우스키핑하시는 분이 있으셔서 문을 열어주셨는데 보통은 벨을 눌러서 프런트에서 문을 열어주는식 같았어요. 제가 사용한 방은 1인용 도시뷰쪽 사용했었구요 리모델링을 한지 얼마 안되었던건지 오픈을 한지 얼마 되지 않은건지 모르겠지만 새가구 냄새가 났고 침구류도 깨끗했고 매일 수건과 이불 커버를 갈아주었어요. 객실 바닥이 얼굴표정이 있는 장판? 같은게 깔려 있었는데 그 밑이 나무로 되어있었는지 걸을때마다 소리가 났었어요. 화장실과 샤워실이 밖에 있고 샤워실 같은 경우에 샤워부스와 문 사이가 남자 성인 발 한뼘정도 되는 공간이라 밑에 물건을 놔 둘 순 없고 놔 뒀다가는 물 범벅이 됩니다. 물론 문에 옷은 걸어둘 수 있구요. 물은 잘 나왔었지만 배수가 느렸어요. 근데, 근데! 이 때까지는 나름 괜찮다고 생각했었는데 체크아웃을 하고 프런트 앞에 잠시 앉아서 핸드폰을 하고 있었는데 조그만한 쥐가 나왔다가 쏙 들어가더라고요 아웃을 하는 사람들이 있어서 순간 말을 못 했었지만 그 뒤에 프런트에 가서 이야기 했더니 쥐가 많은 구역이라고 하면서 어딘가 전화를 하던데 외국어라 이해는 못 했지만 아마도 처리를 하려고 전화한것 같았어요. 이것 말고는 방안 상태는 좋았었어요. 크릭콕 한꾺 여짜뿐뜰, 하욱쓱킥핑 해 주시는 방글락덱씨엑썩 오신 분 초큼 주위하시면 촣을컥 깥아욕. 참, 지하철이나 플릭스버스 정류장도 가까워서 위치 좋아요! 아, 입구가 1층이고 프런트가 2층에 있는데 엘베가 없어서 무거운 짐이 있으신분은 프런트로 올라가셔서 도움을 요청하시면 될거 같아요. 그리고 밖이 조금 시끄러우니 잘때 이런 부분에 있어 예민하신 분들 참고 하시면 좋을거 같아요!

Ubicación excelente, edificio con encanto y carácter histórico. Habitación limpia equipada y reformada recientemente. Atención inmejorable (en inglés). Por contra, por decir algo, es que hay que atravesar como unos 25 metros aprox. De calle un poco enrarecida con bastante inmigración, pero en nuestro caso no supuso ningún problema.
