Great front desk staff in the afternoon and morning. One thing needs major attention that is the light sensors in the common area and specifically the stairs. It’s complete dark when you enter the stairs to catch the elevator and it takes significant amount of time and movement in the stairs to get the sensor working. Very risky

For budget minded people this is an amazing location.

Clean very convenient location.

Staff most welcoming experience in many years of travel (did not catch the mans name)

I slept 13 hours in a modest but clean room.

They offered breakfast for €12 yet not pushy.

Outside has the usual issies of being near a main station with drugs / homeless however alot of security/ people passing bye for no real concern.

Ill be back next time in town.

I stayed here for Ironman Hamburg. The prices were lower than elsewhere and the location was convenient. The hotel and room are basic and the area outside isn’t the most inviting BUT it is very clean and well kept inside and the staff do everything to make you feel at home. It was a little hot in my room so I asked for a fan and it was provided. Overall a simple but clean and functional stay. Thank you!

This hotel is only 150m from the main station. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was able to leave my luggage with them prior to my room being available. Perfect for a solo traveler who just needs a bed for the night.

Apart from its convenient location to the central station, and a friendly reception staff , there is little else to recommend about this property. Old facility , cosmetic improvements only, warm room -so windows had to be left open, and the street noise endured.

Clean, friendly and convenient although poor sleep

Hotel Terminus is exactly what the name suggests. It's literally 2 minutes walk from the main station in Hamburg and convenient for travellers on short stop-overs. The hotel is on a busy street with lots of kebab shops and people all over the place although it is very secure and you get buzzed in through the front door.
Reception was friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and spacious for the price. Shower was ok and the bed was big (2 singles pushed together).
I did have 2 issues with this hotel. The most important being the bed. Although the bed was ok, if a little hard, the pillows were awful and about as supportive as a wet towel. I really didn't sleep well on the 2 nights I was there as I just couldn't get comfortable. The other thing worth a mention is that there is a safe in the room but you have to pay extra to use it! If it's already there then it just seems a money making exercise to charge extra for using it, and an additional deposit for a key!
Overall it was alright for the price but I wouldn't stay there again as the hard bed and useless pillows made for a very poor nights sleep.

Comfortable and Convenient

Hotel Terminus is a fairly basic hotel. The room was pretty cosy. But all the facilities were immaculately clean. The service was prompt and friendly. The breakfast buffet was elegant and tasty. 24-hour reception was very convenient. The location was great—the area around Hauptbahnhof is not necessarily the nicest area in the city, but it is close to everything and has a brilliant 20-minute train connection to the airport.

The room was as promised, functional and the staff were very good. Access was limited to a very small elevator but no air conditioner which made the room quite hot. Very good location in relationship to the train station(hence the hotel name).

This is an odd little hotel. I had a single room which was small and in need of renovation. That said, it was lean, functional and comfortable enough with an attached and renovated bathroom. The elevator stops are halfway between every second floor so there is always half a flight of steep stairs to negotiate. The staff are helpful and friendly, the wifi signal ok and I would reakfast good value. I would probably choose to stay there again.

The hotel manager was the best part of this hotel location. He was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also pleasing but the location and comfort of this hotel was disappointing. The neighborhood the hotel was located did not offer our family a safe feeling. Very multi-cultural and a lot of street noise.

The hotel has a good location just across the road from the railway station. The hotel itself is fine, with helpful staff. There were 4 of us in a room which was adequate for us. We had breakfast each morning which was ok if slightly limited in choice. There are plenty of nice bars & restaurants around the corner facing the station. We would stay here again if in Hamburg.

Two days at Terminus!

I spend 2 days at this hotel in my way back from South Africa. I have been in Hamburg several times but this was my first time at Terminus. It was very nice! Big room facing the street, no noise and non-smoker. The reception gentlemen are very accommodating. The hotel is very close to the Hamburg Central Station and the Central Bus Station, both right across the street. Please keep in mind it is not a luxury place but for 2-3 days it is OK. Breakfast is extra.

Convenient budget hotel for Hauptbahnof

I booked hotel Terminus as i required a room near to the train station for an early train to the airport. At check in I was moved to another group hotel,the Lumen, as I was advised a \"Stag\" group were booked in and it was likely to be noisy. The hotel was approx 75 yards further along the street, which was only a minor inconvenience. Consequently my comments relate to the Lumen not Terminus, although the exterior / entrances were almost identical.The entrance is not particularly inviting, with a locked door opened by buzzing the receptionist and a steep stairs to the first floor, but the room was excellent value, particularly as my rate included breakfast.

The hotel accepted to change a 'non refundable' reservation one day, thanks for that !
We had a room with shared bath and toilet at 5th floor, and it was not as bad a choice as feared. Nice and quiet room, no noise from the street up here.
Beds were softer than we prefer.
Location on a party street, but at the start of the street and tehrefore accessible from city/station without having to walk through the crowds further down the street.

Good budget stopover. I must highlight the absolutely excellent service.It made the limitations of the accommodation much easier to take. Nothing wrong, but a little tired and weathered. Neighbourhood is \"colourful\" but that is all part of the fun of Hamburg. Clean and well managed!

Nice Budget Hotel Near Hamburg Central Station

If you're seeking an economically-priced basic hotel near the central train station, this is a good choice. The rooms are comfortable. Internet and a decent buffet breakfast are included in the room rate. There are several restaurants within the area as well as a supermarket. If possible, request a room the does not face the front of the building. On weekend nights, there tends to be street noises that occur until about midnight - which may interfere with sleeping.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The beds are comfy and the white linen fresh and clean. The breakfast is very nice too. It is a basic type of hotel and very adequate, safe and conveniently positioned for touring round Hamburg although it is in a pretty sleazy neighbourhood! I would go back to this hotel, knowing that behind the front door is a well cared for and pleasant hotel. Great WiFi.

I was sent to another hotel from the same owner, as this is the kind of place people pay for the hour. Across the street. Only stairs, no elevator. Hard if you have any heavy luggage to carry. Room was according to the \"room per hour\" type of place.

the hotel is in a not so good area of hamburg but near the central train station. one can take the s-band line 1(S1) from the airport and it costs less than 3 euro. witin the walking distance one can reach the town hall and good area for shopping that located on the other side of the train station. the breakfast is good. the stuff that was there very friendly.

What a terrible experience! Booked online - terrible area - no elevator to reception on first level with heavy luggage - was told to walk to their other nearby \"3-star\" hotel. Almost an exact replica - no better. Took one look at the room and surroundings and walked out. Because we booked online, no refund - not even for the breakfast that we obviously didn't have. A bad reflection for online booking sites.

The hotel is just a few hundred meters from the Hauptbahnhof, and across the street from the U-bahn station, so it's great for touring the region. Rooms are small, but clean. Lift (elevator) is unusual ... each floor is a few steps up or down from the elevator landing. New TVs have 30 channels; only English language one is CNN. Breakfast buffet (included) is nice; meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, fruit and coffee drinks. Neighborhood is \"iffy\" at best, but I'd stay there again for the convenience. There's a good outdoor mall just on the other side of the train station, with a terrific Italian restaurant, \"Prego.\" And a McDonald's \"McCafe\" location is close-by if you need it!

Near metro, but also near sex shops

The Terminus single room is VERY small- more like a large walk-in closet than a hotel room (room for a single bed, small table and chair), but it was neat/clean and with a nice shower (good water pressure, quick to heat up). There is free wi-fi and a nice self-serve breakfast that has cereals, breads, yogurt, juice, cheese, cold meats, and hot eggs as choices. They even had small packages of Nutella. Yum. The desk clerk on duty was also very pleasant and offered directions to the metro and assisted with the wi-fi access. There are no other \"extras,\" such as a gym or larger tv. The metro is very near, which is nice, and a major shopping area is several blocks away. There is also a taxi stand about a half block from the hotel. The area is a bit \"seedy\" though. There are several sex shops on the block and the hotel is near streets that prostitutes frequent. I was uncomfortable walking alone at night in the area. When some locals I knew found out where I was staying, they advised me to avoid certain nearby streets, especially at night. Due to the neighborhood, I would not recommend the hotel. However, if you are comfortable in that environment, then this is a nice hotel to consider when you plan to spend most of the day sightseeing or otherwise out and about.

The hotel is quite inconspicuous

The hotel is quite inconspicuous from outside, being over a Kebab shop in a mixed area. Location is ideal, being 2-3 minutes from the main train and bus stations. The single room was very compact but adequate for my needs. Breakfast was ok with the usual range of cereals, cold meat, cheese, bread and fruit.
Service was friendly and overall I was satisfied with the hotel and the price.

Top central location. Interieur is a bit outdated, but functional and clean. Great that there is an elevator - though it can take a while. Same with shared showers: great when you share with people who are on a different schedule, else you might find yourself competing. Central location is definately top practical, will return!

Das „Hotel“ selbst ist eher eine möblierte Zimmervermietung, leider an vielen Ecken im 1.OG Handlungsbedarf oder altes Interieur auf den Gängen. Die Zimmer ultra klein, vollgestellt, alles wirkt eher wie zusammengeschustert. Ich hatte Glück und eigenes Bad - sauber, ordentlich. Die Dusche selbst für Gäste mit Mobilitätseinschränkung eher ungeeignet, da nicht ebenerdig sonder 40cm hoher Ein-wie Ausstieg.
Im Zimmer Teppich - sauber, wenn auch in die Jahre gekommen. Bad Fliesenboden.
Frühstück kann nicht beurteilt werden, da nicht gebucht. Im schmalen Eingangsbereich sind Getränke/ Snacks einkaufbar.
Alles in allem wirkt das Haus wie eine umgebaute Jugendherberge mit Gemeinschaftsbad. Wer absoluten Minimalismus beim Reisen bevorzugt, lediglich ein Bett möchte, trifft es dort absolut preisgünstig!
Positives: 24h Rezeption besetzt, sehr hilfreiches und freundliches Personal, der Inhaber selbst sehr lustig und hat gute Empfehlungen. Die Nähe zum Bahnhof ist unschlagbar, leider liegt das Hotel aber selbst in einer eher unschönen Umgebung. Bin heute Früh von „Suchtabhägigen“ massiv bedrängt worden, Straße/Gehwege stark verschmutzt, überall liegen Betrunkene neben sich gerade einen „Schuss setzenden“ am Boden. Das schmälert die positive Punkteliste enorm herab.

Fazit: für eine Nacht kann man dort einchecken, Nähe Bahnhof, öPNV, schnelle Erreichbarkeit von Ausflugszielen halten gegen. Zimmer selber für mich kein Hotelstandard, eher Hostel/ Jugendherberge. Es ist sauber!

Trist hotel

Hotellet ligner på ingen måde de fotos som er på Hotels eller hotellets side. Fotos er manipuleret og får alt til at fremstå stort, men er i virkeligheden utrolig småt og slidt.
Det er i et utroligt utrygt område.
