On arrival, this place flagged up warning signals! There was a large queue for the only person on reception and "what looked like" just the one self check in machine. However, I noticed on arrival, through the window that there were 2 other self check in machines.The guy on reception was so slow, I took the machine option. It was horrible! In the room there are 2 bottles of water but, only one of them has a collar, boldly saying, "this one is one us"!!!! So, I guess you have to pay for the other one?? No idea. Had their "free one" and bought my own afterwards!
The reception staff and the bar staff (person) go "missing" frequently. There's excuses like, "There's a meeting on tonight" however, I frequently saw these guys just chilling out and ignoring the customers requiring serving.
Breakfast was fine. I take muesli and yoghurt and they had this. However, the little markers that told you what was what were completely in the wrong place and also missing.
There are no shops "near by".

Well the personal in the reception was one of the most rudest i met, during my travels! When I let them know that we wasnt informed or gotten any email link when we checked in? We had to find the wifi ourself? And through that we lost 76 Euro on the local public transport! When I said or complained about this to the reception? Their answer was? "Oh he who checked you in should have send you a email?" But he didnt even ask for one?, Because he was training a new staffmember? Then I said but cant you do anything about after? Their responce "no we cant oh are you here for a whole week sorry that you bought card for local transport " and then laughed about it! I said it is you fault from the beginning Because its says nothing on your website or hotels.com etc "yes it does they said" no it doesnt! and then the receptionist sad "oh its only local to our hotel" so know that the staff on this hotel is the most rudest I ever met! The worst service i ever got. We didnt get the room, we have payed for at the first time, and had to change rooms after a long trip. That is what it is, but the reception was not kindly, when i asked for possibles to pay ekstra and get a bigger room. His answear to me was "we are a business hotel, not a hotel to couples". Well thank you for telling me that. If you choose to take the hotel because of the charghing points, dont. These are not working, and charghing you 90euro, without getting anything. The breakfast was the cheapest i ever seen. VERY small like 4 hot dishes and thats it. But the stap need to learn service.

Working in the Messe, this hotel was very convenient with only a short walk through a beautiful park to reach the Halls. The room was very well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast had a good and varied selection of hot and cold food. Staff were all very helpful and friendly.

The air conditioner on 11th floor was bringing cigarette smoke from other room into mine. I had to change my room at midnight and got a twin bed instead of double bed. The bed was bed was so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep.

The hotels. Com website showed that the hotel had bar and limited hours room service but there was no bar and room service at all. The reception was asked for a wake up call but there was no wake up call as wall.,at the time of check out the girl at the reception asked for the charges for breakfast although it was already paid through the hotels.com. Unbelievable hard beds (had to sleep on two duvets), bad attitude from the employees in the reception and ragged towels. The hotel is in bad condition and really needs a thorough cleaning and an upgrade. Especially to new and normal beds!

The parking entrance to hotel has some problem, but this is share with the conference parking entrance. The security guy was very nice and try to explain to us and tell ask to inform receptionist in hotel. When we try to ask question to the hotel receptionist, she doesn't know much. The overall check in was good, parking on-site indoor is good as well.
The room was clean, but the bed was low with a single spring mattress which was very hard to sleep on. The housekeeper came to clean one day and forget to finish. The last day on early morning, the housekeeper just knocked and came in while we still sleeping. this shouldn't happen as it was our check out day and quite early morning.

Zimmer war klein im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels. Zimmer preis ist auch sehr teuer. Hotel ist 600 m von Hamburg Dammtor Bahnhof entfernt. Zu viel wenn man kein Auto hat und mit S Bahn oder U Bahn zu Hamburg Stadtmitte gehen möchte. Abends hat man Angst wenn man durch Garten die in der Nähe von Hotel liegt von Bahnhof zum Hotel geht . Bad war nicht sauber. Es gibt paare Schimmel Flecken im Bad. :/

Seelenloses funktionales Hotel
Ein vollkommen seelenloses Hotel, bei dem man um ein Getränk am Abend betteln muss, um dann 4,50 Euro für ein Flaschenbier ohne Glas zu bezahlen. Personal und Prozesse langsam. Ich komme nur wieder wenn ich es muss.

Leider gab es am Abend keinerlei Versorgung im Hotel. Weder der Wunsch nach einem Kaffee, noch die Bereitstellung von Eiswürfeln zum Verzehr im Zimmer konnte erfüllt werden. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer, in welchem die Fenster nur auf Spalt geöffnet werden konnten, funktionierte nicht. Auch nach Bekanntgabe des Problems, wurde zum Folgetag keine Abhilfe geschaffen.
Bisherige Aufenthalte verliefen stets zufriedenstellend, was mich veranlasste dieses Hotel grundsätzlich bei Aufenthalten in Hamburg zu buchen. Diese letzte Erfahrung verlief nun weniger erfreulich.

This is an excellent hotel: great rooms, clean, modern, comfy bed, good shower and quiet, great breakfast buffet, all that you need. The fact that the hotel reserved full payment for 4 nights when I arrived, even though I had paid Hotels.com in full a month beforehand, is something that needs to stop and it would be nice to have coffee facilities in the room, but overall I had a great experience.

The IntercityHotel Hamburg Dammtor-Messe, is an ok hotel.
Plain and rather sterile lobby and restaurant. Needs some flair to make it a better welcome. The hotel though is the worst I've stayed in over my 6 weeks of vacation because the cigarette smokers smoke in their rooms and the smoke goes right across the corridor, the lift lobby of your floor and into your own bathroom through the air-conditioning system.
This was the third stay I've had here and this has occurred on every occasion. The smokers will endure a miserable, slow and suffocating demise!

Great location, but that is probably the only thing. Staff was reasonably pleasant too, breakfast buffet was nice, but to get to and from your table was a challenge. Tables are squeezed together and you have to find a way to get around. My biggest disappointment was the hairdryer, lasted approx. 10 seconds when switched off, so tried my colleague's but it was the same. I have reported it to reception, so next morning it lasted 15 seconds (!). After two days and seeing all the women at breakfast with wet hair I have realised that is probably what every room doesn't have - GOOD HAIRDRYER. Never in my 25 years travelling around the world have I ever come across this.

This was perfect. I was knackered after a really early start, flights, a big drive, meetings and wanted somewhere calm just to chill.
It's next to a big park and really new and can't be faulted. The rate was ludicrously low at less than GBP70 per night but I guess it is a lot more when there are exhibitions/conferences on at the Messe.

The hotel's location is excellent, close to public transportation, easy to find, and right on the edge of Hamburg's spectacular garden, "Planten und Bloomena". The Rhododendrons in the garden were spectacular in mid-May.

It was crazy hot in Hamburg and there was no air conditioning in the room. In the morning they said they gonna fix it in an hour or two it ended up like this for my whole stay (3 days).

I enjoyed my stay, and have no complaints. The staff were polite and professional. I noticed that IntercityHotel as a whole do not provide any coffee/tea appliances or amenities in the guest rooms, a low score for me. No gym as well, but there is a lot of fun walking or running inside and around the city part right beside the hotel.

Stayed here with a group of freinds for a weekend break. Arrived around 23:30 and were greeted by the freindly staff and checked in with a minimum of fuss. The rooms were clean and bright and had a nice view of the park opposite. No matter what time of day or night the staff were always willing to help and were always happy doing so. The location of the hotel was perfect for us as it was close to the train station so we could explore the whole city using our free travel cards provided by the hotel. It was also close enough for us to walk to the local bars and restaurants to enjoy the town and the reeperbahn ( but not too close ).
My freinds and I are already talking about making this an annual trip and will definitely be using the intercity dammtor- Jesse hotel when we come back.
