Nice place and not as overpriced as other hotels

We only stayed here for one night and it was more affordable than other hotels around the centre while still quite a nice room. It is a business-like hotel—especially from the outside—and located near the Messe. It therefore feels a bit away from the centre while still in the centre. Especially the staff was very friendly and check-in went smooth.

The hotel is an excellent location for access to the Messe and is 750 m from a S and U Bahn station. Staff and check in were excellent. Breakfast was very good with a broad selection breads, pastries, cheeses, cereals, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausages. The rooms were modern and clean with 2 types of pillows offered and both were of good quality. The mattress and bedding was pleasant. That is the good. The two notable not so good issues were parking and air conditioning. The underground garage is very tight to get around. I would not want to try to take anything larger than a small SUV into the garage. Two cars damaged their bodywork navigating the garage. Regarding the air conditioning, it was a hot June weekend and a key criteria for choosing a hotel was an AC cooled room. Outside during the day, it was 32c. The room at check in was 30. When we returned in the evening the outside temperature was 24 centigrade. The room was still 30. We turned on the AC, all it did was blow hot air. Front desk explained the compressors don’t run when the outside air is 25 or below. The only relief offered was for us to crack the window – the room looks out over a major road and was very noisy most of the night (police and firefighter sirens, buses, and truck traffic) – that only marginally cooled the very hot room. We were forced to sleep in a noisy sauna that never cooled over the course of the evening. Cooling should be based on room temperature and occupancy, not outside temperature.

For what it offered, it was a really nice hotel. We booked the queen room for two people, but really struggled with the space, it was just too small for us. Whoever sleeps on the right side of the bed, needs to disturb the person on the left to use the bathroom which just isn't ideal.

We also found that our bedsheets and pillowcases had red patches on them. I won't say the word in-cass this review is suppressed, but it made us very uncomfortable.

This was just our room though. If you're looking for a nice central place in London, this is it. Just be very mindful about the amount of space you actually have in the room when you book a queen, or consider booking something larger.

Clean and comfortable. Slightly inconvenient location, not many places around to eat and rooms are slightly too small in my opinion. Some slightly annoying features are the shower which is left with the door opening inwards which makes it impossible to get in. Also the free WiFi is not very good at all, just ended up using mobile data.
Finally, the cleaner seemed obsessed with trying to clean the room on the day I am leaving, when they came in I said no thank you and I got a very angry “put the ticket out then!”. Why would you try to clean the room on the day I am leaving before I have left?

Rooms were extremely hot and uncomfortable. Could not get comfortable in room and staff would not adjust thermostat to less than 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Staff told us their technicians were sick and could not fix our room. We were moved to another room with the same problem. Nothing nice about sitting in your room sweating. Would not recommend. As well, bartender charged us 36 Euros for two cocktails with well alcohol. Way over charged. Locals said we were robbed!

Excellent hotel near the convention center

We booked the hotel for a conference we are from the US. The location was great for us as we had few good restaurants and cafe that we could walk to. Great friendly reception staffs that all speak English so helpful if you are not fluent in German. The rooms are small (This is Europe), but clean and comfortable for us. The beds were comfortable and the free WIFI was excellent. We would book again.

Location is great to explore the Schanzenviertel and St. Pauli, hotel also is in great condition, rooms are clean and look new.
Reason for my average rating is the non-functioning AC, ultimately I’m coming to sleep and this was difficult due to the heat on the top floors
I have called the front desk, someone came, made some changes on the thermostat and mentioned it is fixed. Unfortunately this was not the case.

Hotel is in a good location, rooms were ok, a little on the small side. The hotel is more geared up for the single business traveller (very convenient for the exhibition centre) that it is for couples. Breakfast was good. Not sure about the night shift security, when we can back late one evening we just walked in unchallenged. 7/10 overall.

Great Hotel Near Hamburg Messe

New hotel with everything in a central location!

Central location in Hamburg near lots of Restaurants and transportation! Modern hotel with a bar and some food offered 24 hours. Very friendly staff and a nice room with a good shower. Only downside is the synthetic bedding which others have mentioned. I much prefer real down as it doesn’t overheat you.

Nice hotel in a good location with really comfy beds. After arriving there was an announcement to evacuate the building. The police and firemen turned up. Obviously, if there is a safety issue this can't be helped. However, don't think the staff handled it that well - they didn't tell us anything about what was going on and I believe they were telling people not to take pictures which feels a bit odd like they want to cover something up. Apart from that, it's a perfectly good hotel.

Clean modern hotel about a 6 minute walk to two underground stations. The hotel is opposite the TV tower in Hamburg and is only a 2-3 stops on the underground into the centre of town. Hotel has a nice bar which is not expensive, staff were very pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel, difficult to sleep in warm weather

Nice hotel in a pretty good location. Our only complaint was that our first night there the AC did not seem to be working, so we had to sleep with the window open. The street below is very noisy all night -- traffic and trains constantly going by. We did not sleep well unfortunately... a little better the second night when the AC seemed to be working more properly. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay! Very nice breakfast and bar/restaurant. Room is small but clean. Shower was very good!

Good buffet breakfast, but the selection is the same every day.

Within walking 8 minutes walk of three U-bahn stations. Also convenient for bus 4/5 and 35.

This hotel is ok just for somewhere to sleep, it's a 10 min walk from the underground station so quite easy to get to.

The reception staff are lovely and helpful, however the bar service isn't good. I gave up waiting to order (I was the only customer waiting) and walked around looking for a supermarket to get food and drinks instead.

The rooms are small and very basic but again, fine just for somewhere to sleep. The only problem is they have really small duvets (and no extra bedding) so you have to turn up the noisy heating. This isn't ideal when it's minus 2 degrees in Hamburg.

This would be fine for a \"budget\" hotel, but at €110+ per night I think it's a big overpriced. However, I don't think you would find a better hotel for this price close to the centre of Hamburg!

Good for one night stay

I stayed only for one night due to a late flight and my friend unable to pick me up. I called the hotel about 4 days in advance to let them know I will be arriving really late (10-11pm.) i arrived closer to 11, and the front desk did not seem impressed and seemed annoyed about my late arrival even though I told them in advance. Besides that the room was very clean and comfortable and I settled in nicely. The staff in the morning were super friendly and my check out was swift.

Good hotel and comfortable and neat hotel room. The windows are good quality however could be better sound proofed, as I did find myself waking up every day at 5am with the traffic noise from outside. Wifi connectivity wasn't entirely good, with it stopping working at several times in the evening, which was a bit annoying.

Most convenient hotel for Hamburg marathon runners

Perfect location for those taking part in the marathon in April. Couldn't be closer - 2 mins walk to the start! The room was nice and quiet, the bed was comfortable, the shower room was good, and ventilation was excellent. My only negative was the very expensive breakfast. It's a 10 minute walk to find a cafe, so try and make sure your room rate includes breakfast. The in-room tea and coffee was somewhat limited - English visitors are advised to bring your own tea bags as there was no breakfast tea ;-)
There's a bar serving snacks and food throughout the day, but not much by way of a lounge area. But overall, a very good, clean, quiet and comfy hotel.

We stayed 5 nights here as part of our honeymoon vacation tour through Germany. I informed the hotel staff weeks before we arrived that we would be visiting while on honeymoon and if they could arrange a nice room with a view. They not only gave us a wonderful room on the upper floors, but also surprised us with a small bottle of sparkling wine, several small pastries from their restaurant, and a hand-written note welcoming us to Hamburg and wishing us congratulations. The front desk staff is very friendly and are proficient in whatever language you choose to speak. The neighborhood is nice and the hotel lies relatively close to an U-Bahn and S-Bahn station for easy access to all parts of Hamburg. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful city of Hamburg and enjoyed this delightfully modern hotel.

Great hotel, we felt very well looked after, stayed 4 nights and the staff were excellent. Having arrived early the reception staff found a room for us regardless, and when we left, the room exit time was also delayed to accomodate us.
We were \"room only\" and felt that the 20 euro each for an all you can eat breakfast was a little on the expensive side! Plenty of places to eat in the city centre so we just set off early and found a cafe! Undeground station nearby and just 2 euro to go pretty much anywhere. Hotel located right under the communication tower so you cant miss it, large road junction outside but sound not an issue. Visited Miniature Wunderland which is superb, Hamburg museum, and lots of Xmas markets. Enjoyed the hotel bar in the evening and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Would just recommend a cheaper or better choice of breakfast to improve the place.

Comfortable hotel near to public transport

The hotel was comfortable but not geared to 2 people staying for 1 week. There was no draw space and very little hanging space. Also the bathroom was small. The free wi-fi was very useful and reliable. The staff were excellent. However they were experiencing problems with housekeeping. Only 1 face cloth was left in the bathroom rather than 2 and towels were only changed every 3rd day. Similarly they failed to refill the coffee and milk unless asked to do so or replace the glasses and mugs with clean ones. A mini fridge was requested to store insulin. This was not available and I was not informed of this until we arrived. The restaurant was excellent value and the menu was varied.

Comfortable stay

Arrived earlier at the hotel before check-in time, just so happened that the room was ready, and was allowed to check-in early. Counter staff was polite and efficient. Room environment was nice, comfortable and clean. Complimentary wifi connection was great as well. Location of the hotel was a little out of the city center, which is great if you like a relatively quiet environment. The hotel is located near 2 train stations (about 5-10mins walk): Schlump, and Sternschanze, which is great as both stations serve different subway train routes, and were also a few train stations away from city center. Did not have breakfast at the hotel, as there were several eateries nearby. Trattoria Cento Lire has also been recommended by other reviewers as a place for dinner. Location of the italian restaurant was about 5 mins walk from the hotel. Food there was nice and restaurant staff were friendly. Would consider staying back at the hotel if I visit Hamburg again.

Pleasant stay near the Television Tower and park

We stayed here since it was close to the Television Tower, which was the location of the finish line for the Hamburg Marathon. We were supposed to meet a friend there after he ran the marathon. This hotel was fairly close to the Schlump station. Our room was very clean, yet somewhat compact. We had requested a double bed and received two twin beds that were pushed close together. This seemed to be the norm for double beds on our trip and was fine for our short stay. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, since we found other inexpensive options nearby.

Modern hotel, short tube ride from city centre

We stayed for 2 nights as part of a mini break to Hamburg. The hotel was a little further outside the city centre than we would have liked. The nearest tube Schlump is 5 mins walk away and is 4 stops to city centre - we chose to walk which took about 30 minutes. The hotel is modern and clean and is more suited to business travellers. Breakfast was not included in our room rate and is a hefty 20 euros per person although we understand it is a generous buffet. We chose to eat breakfast at a very nice german cafe just around the corner that offered a good choice for a lot less euros!

This hotel was very comfortable and had a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, the services in the hotel were expensive. Breakfast at 20 Euros per person, we thought was exorbitant. Found an excellent cafe nearby, Cafe Backwahn, which offered a superb breakfast menu at a third of that price. For an evening meal I would recommend the nearby italian restaurant Trattoria Cento Lire.
The location of the hotel was excellent, being close to the Schlump U-bahn station and directly opposite the magnificent park Planten un Blomen.

Once connected, not worth the payment - painfully slow.

Very clean and modern, great for Business

I had a twin room which was a liitle on the small side if you wanted to spend alot of time in your room, but for us who just wanted somewhere to shower and sleep it was great. Very clean and modern. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is great if your visting the Hamburg Messe its a 2 minute walk. Theres a great tradtional pub next door where the beer is cheap and you can even smoke inside.

Great hotel for us.

I missed a refrigerator in the room, the park was 100 meter away, city center 25 minutes walk, all in all a great hotel.

Good Hotel

Great hotel if you have an event at the Messe, within walking distance. Price was good considering what has been paid previously for other hotels in the area at a busy time like that. Only thing is that the service is a little slow, but very polite.

Clean, comfortable, convenient, but breakfast isn't cheap

A clean, confortable and efficiently run hotel as close as you can get to the Hamburg Messe, so very convenient for there. However, make sure you get a room with breakfast included, as it's 18 Euros for the buffet breakfast (this didn't appear to be displayed anywhere until I was told at reception afterwards when checking out.)

Positiv hervorzuheben sind das Frühstücksbuffet, das sowohl durch seine Vielfalt als auch durch seine Qualität überzeugt hat, sowie das insgesamt sehr freundliche und entspannte Auftreten des Personals.
Demgegenüber standen jedoch mehrere Punkte, die aus meiner Sicht nicht dem Anspruch eines 4-Sterne-Hotels entsprachen. In meinem Zimmer ragte ein Kabel aus der Decke, zudem befand sich das Zimmer in unmittelbarer Nähe der Aufzüge, deren Geräusche deutlich wahrnehmbar waren. Die Halterung des Duschkopfes war innen stark verschmutzt. Zwei LED-Spots wurden erst nach dem Check-in ausgetauscht, ohne dass ich dies gemeldet hatte, was darauf schließen lässt, dass der Mangel bereits zuvor bekannt war.
Darüber hinaus waren der Schreibtisch sowie der dazugehörige Stuhl mit Brotkrümeln verschmutzt, ebenso die Gardine. Insgesamt machte das Zimmer keinen sorgfältig gereinigten und gepflegten Eindruck.
Einen weiteren negativen Eindruck hinterließ eine Situation an der Rezeption: Ein Gast vor mir erhielt nach Vorlage seiner goldenen Karte ein kostenfreies Upgrade. Obwohl das Gespräch freundlich geführt wurde, vermittelte die Situation eine deutliche Ungleichbehandlung, was bei mir den Eindruck einer Zweiklassengesellschaft entstehen ließ.
Zusammenfassend wurden die Anforderungen an ein 4-Sterne-Hotel aus meiner Sicht nur knapp erfüllt. Entsprechend gering ist meine Bereitschaft, eine erneute Buchung in diesem Hotel in Betracht zu ziehen.
