hungry. Staff told us to wait with our luggage in the crowded entryway. We asked if their advertised bar/restaurant was open but it was too early for the bar and too late for the restaurant. There is NOWHERE nearby to walk to get some food.

Great hotel. Great breakfast. I selected this hotel as it was near Miniature Wunderland which was the purpose of my visit to Hamburg

It is only 5 minutes walk, crucial if you have a timed ticket that limits when you can get in

I didn’t know that there is a hotel Of the same chain in Vienna which is on my tour. I would have stayed there

Our stay in the hotel was good apart from the A/C going off after the first night, room was very warm as it was on the 6th floor and facing the sun, windows barely opened. staff very friendly, breakfast excellent.

Three times during the afternoon of my stay I contacted the reception staff members and advised that I needed my room temperature dropped to 18 degrees as I can’t sleep at the 21 degrees it has been automatically set at. All three agreed to do so however my room stayed at the 21 degree level and I had no sleep for the night. As proof of this I have attached photo’s that I took at 1am, 3am and 5am. I have 7 hours of travelling to do today and now need to do it on no sleep. This is unacceptable and dangerous.

I had a hard time stepping in the hotel on the street level, they use very strong perfumed diffusers that affect the breathing, I had to wear a mask from the front door till the elevator. A poor common practice in Europe, with the false conviction that the perfumed sprays and diffusers make the air better, when indeed they replace the good oxygen..Not helping the eco system!

property slightly past its glory as maintenance lacking, with skirting board coming off around sliding doors, wardrobe handle ripped off and not replaced, shower door slightly bent and no longer sealing and our minibar not working so I had to store my medication pen in the reception fridge and ask the bar staff to chill the champagne from the room minibar. Slight inconvenience

Nice location as in between centre and harbour area and boutique feel to it.

Hotel location was great and it was quite comfortable. Easy access to everything and walkable distance to the Rathaus area. My only issue was that the fridge didn't work and it was also set up to only be able to fit their bottles, and not your own items that needed refrigeration.

The room was great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that parking is about 3 blocks away...probably unavoidable in Hamburg! But it was easy to walk to all the great sight in downtown Hamburg from this hotel. I highly recommend.

If you are driving you can park in front of the hotel to check in. The public parking lot less than a 5 minute walk. We absolutely loved the hotel and location!

Wir haben das Hotel über die Weihnachtstage besucht und es war ein sehr guter Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer war modern eingerichtet und die Lobby war auch sehr schön geschmückt.

Während meines Aufenthaltes habe ich Milaan kennengelernt und er hat mir bei allen meinen Anfragen und Anliegen weitergeholfen. Er war immer ein Schritt weiter als ich selber und er konnte meine Wünsche förmlich von den Lippen ablesen.

Dies hat den Trip in die Heimat versüßt und ich bedanke mich bei ihm sowie dem restlichen Team für einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt!

I really enjoyed this property. My room was very comfortable and super stylish. There was nothing cookie-cutter about it. It felt like the room had been designed and decorated individually by someone of the highest taste and ability. There were lots of individual surprising touches, as well as plenty of attention on comfort and function. The area is quiet but near many things, including the philharmonic hall and the miniature museum -- both highly recommended. The hotel is pretty new, I think, so not all the dining options were in place, but it didn't matter. It's a stay I'll longer remember and one of my favorite ever.

A wonderful and unique place. I could only sing praises if there wasn‘t the subject of a credit owed but not refunded yet.
I was given 2 adjacent suites which as a single traveler I did not need. So I requested a cancellation of one of the suites for the 2nd night which was agreed upon. However when checking out I was billed the full amount with the assurance(it was a Sunday) that the credit would be issued by accounting on Monday. I am still waiting.
Sadly this clouded an otherwise wonderful experience.

This hotel is the perfect mix of vintage charm and modern amenities. Between the stylish furniture and decor, excellent breakfast, and a very high level of cleanliness, my husband and I had no complaints. We felt that this was comparable, if not nicer, than 5-star hotels we have stayed in. Other Americans, you know what I mean when I say that most German hotels feel very different, but the Sir Nikolai Hotel clearly caters to Americans and I felt right at home :)

The hotel is well presented and very nice. The room is lovely but there were a few omissions... no mini bar price list, its expensive so beware, no replacement tea or coffee - we had to go to reception ourselves for this as the phone didn't work to call. Could almost be 10/10 with a little improvement on servicing of the room.

Amazing hotel. Everything was top notch, from service staff to amenities offered. I also loved the centrality of the location, which allowed me to walk everywhere.

Welcoming, helpful staff, comfortable stay

We dealt with 3 different reception staff and they were all very helpful and made us feel welcome.

The room was so impressive that we enquired about upgrading to a better room. We were able to do this after the first night.

It was worth the move, the bath tub extremely spacious and the room much bigger overall.

Location is great for the Elbphilharmonie, about a 10 minute walk, and for city shopping and restaurants, also a few minutes away.

We would stay here again when returning to Hamburg.

Amazing stay

Such a great place! My parents and I utterly enjoyed our stay at Sir Nikolai. Amazing decor, amazing service. I would not recommend the restaurant downstairs. Completely overpriced for very low-quality food. Try and visit VLET in the Speicherstadft which is 6min walk away.

Overall, a super thoughtful hotel with loads of attention to detail. I would recommend.

Loved this hotel. It is cool. It is clean. It is modern. It is a bit luxurious as well. It has a great location, wallowing distance form the shopping street, form HafenCity, from the Christmas Market, etc, really, great location. Staff is super friendly. I just have 1 “butâ€
.... I left behind a piece of makeup (a kit of eyeshadows) and I called to asked and come pick them up, but they never found them.

Super nice staff, great welcome with Prosecco, sightseeing tips and options to upgrade the room.
The room was spacious, nicely decorated, tv with airdrop and fantastic bathroom.
The attached restaurant serves super delicious food.

All was perfect and we will definitely go back, but... maybe in the mornings there could be some extra staff. Check out took forever, since the only staff member had to work like crazy, checking out a whole line of people, make cappuccinos and label luggage... fortunately we were not in a rush.

A buzzing shame!

Not a bad hotel and they are a solid 4 star. The reception is awkwardly placed for anyone carrying luggage and in my room, that was very nice, there was a continuous buzzing noise, despite turning the air con and everything else off!

Hidden Gem

The hotel is a little unassuming from the outside but when you enter it really is very well presented. The staff are exceptionally polite and provide high levels of service. The rooms, I have stopped twice now, can be a little small but they are extremely well equipped and finished to a very high standard. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The only minor downside is there is a slight shortage of bars and restaurants in the immediate area and the hotel bar and restaurant is quite formal but.... if you have a quick search on google and don't mind a 5 minute walk there are places in reach.

Incredible hotel, staff service and rooms. Have already looked to stay at another one of the Sir hotels based on our amazing experience here. Close to the centre and some lovely restaurants. Took us a little while to get out bearings but once we figured it out it was so close to all the attractions.

This hotel is clean, modern and funky, but funky almost to the point of being uncomfortable. My room layout had separate shower and toilet stalls with floor-to-ceiling doors, but no separate bathroom.

Very clean and homey hotel. High quality everywhere and lots of attention to detail. Really great! Some hiccups during check in due to not having enough staff to handle it (only one person available and a big line with a long wait) at a peak time when it was just starting - this was very unusual for such a high class and quality hotel.

Perfect and beautiful

Highly recommended

Wonderful stay from beginning to end. Guy on reception went the extra mile helping me sorting out activating the account to use the bikes (StadtRad). Fully stocked mini bar in room although the price was on the high end, same for the hotel's restaurant. There are so many places around to eat and drink I don't know if many people use the hotel restaurant/bar.

Local was great I think, walking distance to Rathaus, St.Pauli and the harbour. We used the StadtRad to get to places (free within 30 mins' ride!) and the S Bahn and U Bahn are 10 mins walk from the hotel.
