Nice hotel, room was okay but was expecting little bit more space for extra large room. The bed for our daughter was not ready upon our arrival, there were only towels for two in the room and we were never given extra glass/cup although the housekeeping team sorted out the bed straight away. Was expecting little bit more such as bathrobes and a larger outdoor area for the guests. There were only two tables outside the reception and although the restaurant had a large outdoor area, the restaurant manager was not happy for us to sit there unless we were ordering food from the restaurant. This was not great as we were the guests of the hotel. Buffet breakfast was good, but pricey at 26€ per person so for a family of three this was not a great value for money. One morning there was a lot of noise around 7am in the corridor, which woke us up. The hotel is in a great location and staff was friendly apart the moody restaurant manager who was very precious about his EMPTY outdoor space being dedicated to the restaurant guests despite us being the guests of the hotel!?. Big thank you to the housekeeping team that was friendly and helpful. 4 starts due to lack of outdoor or indoor space for the guests to relax apart from the restaurant area.

How not to treat a guest
I chose the hotel based on a recommendation from a friend. The room was large and modern, but as I turned on the shower, I had phone call and suddenly I see water flowing out from the bathroom and into the bedroom where my clothes for a business function was layed out. Things like this can happen but it was a very unfavorable situation as I was in a rush. I just had to put back on the clothes I was travelling in and leave for the function. As I left for the evening I told the receptionist that I expect that my belongings are moved to another room l which would be ready for me upon my return. The receptionist confirmed and apologized. When I returned that night the room had not been changed, but the housekeeping had sort of dried up the carpet to the best of their ability. On checking out the next morning i was quite frustrated and said I would expect not to pay (fully) for the night, as the hotel’s plumbing issues impacted my night negatively, and the hotel did not even bother to change my room even though having agreed to it on the spot.
I did not pay as I left, but after a couple of hours i received an e-mail from the hotel saying they charged my card in full and they have no recollection that they promised to change my room, nor could they find any evidence of any flooding. Being mistreated and indirectly accused of lying, this will be the last stay at 25hrs.

Very pleasant stay in Hamburg
We were only there for one night, wish it was more! The hotel is clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly! Helped us book a night cruise and called a taxi for us in the morning. Great location for us as we wanted the night cruise and had booked a time for Miniature Wonderland in the morning.

Hotel was a great find! Have stayed at many properties throughout Hamburg over the years and this one was by far...The best! Spotless clean, great staff and the attention to detail was second to none. Boiler Room bar and Neni restaurant are not to be missed while staying there. Haffen City is growing up nicely and downtown is a leisurely 10 minute walk. Highly recommended!!

I can’t fault this hotel! It’s quirky and cool but with a real feeling of comfort. Amazing bar and restaurant and in a great location. I’ve stayed at the Munich 25hours which prompted me to look into this - each hotel is very individually designed. Free mini bar is a nice touch. Can’t wait to return next year!!

We really liked that hotel! Very friendly and helpful staff! The room was very comfortable, nice bathroom with a separated toilet. Oh and you have access to your own portable music box plus you can borrow a bag during your stay and if you’d like you can order room service. The food/ breakfast is provided by the in-house located restaurant Neni, which is serves really nice Arabian-Mediterranean food.

Wonderful stay with a wonderful room. Nice location within easy walking distance to local attractions. Close access to the metro for travel to the airport. Restaraunt and bar were also quite nice.

Beautiful, quirky but useful room. Very spacious with a sitting area you wouldn’t expect in this price range. Tasty breakfast. Friendly staff. We found the bed, particularly the pillows, not ideal but had the same experience throughout Germany, so I think it’s a matter of different customs not this hotel doing anything a German would see as inferior.

The building in which the 25hours Hotel Altes Hafenamt is housed is in itself beautiful and historic. It is more than 100-years old and the owners have done a truly magnificent job of restoring it to its original splendour and creating from it a wonderful, quirky, comfortable hotel.
On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and spoke to me in perfect English. He was informative and explained that due to the age of the property I would have to go up to the first floor (by stairs or lift) then walk to the opposite end of the building to complete my journey to a spacious room on the fourth floor.
The rooms are really quaint with all sorts of lovely amenities such as a cuddly bunny rabbit and a hot water bottle placed on the bed for added comfort, or perceived security perhaps, at night. There is an illuminated globe and there was a leaf tea selection, which is such a pleasant change from the ubiquitous teabags everyone else serves.
The mattress and pillows were just the right texture, but the quilt was not long enough to cover the length of the bed let alone my (quite) large frame and 1.85 m length. Happily though, the 'double' bed was in fact two single beds placed alongside each other and each with its own quilt, so I used the second to cover my feet and a comfortable night's sleep was had after all.

The rooms are stylish, very spacious, with an extremely comfortable bed and very quiet. So all you need for a few days of business travel. I was very happy with the level of service and flexibility of the hotel staff during my stay wand the overall feel of the hotel is very relaxed and pleasant. In addition, I loved the breakfast, which offers great options and at the buffet, but goes beyond a typical breakfast.

Hotel is located in newly developed harbor area of town in a renovated brick building typical of that part of Hamburg. Luxurious but informal dining and bar area with a flair for Mediterranean. Turkish rugs, pillows, comfortable sofas throughout. Rooms felt more like a studio with private sleeping area. Elegant, modern bathroom. Quirky and classy hotel in great location
I booked this hotel by accident, and what luck! It's in Hafencity, the newest development in Hamburg, where the many impressive former warehouses have been converted into apartments, restaurants, etc. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff exceptional my helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was fab, but expensive, however nearby cafes didn't seem to open till 10/11 so we went for it! The 25 hours styles itself according to the port, so fixtures and fittings have an amusing seafaring motif, everywhere! It's huge fun and I recommend it heartily (shiver my timbers...).

Apparently there are two 25 hours Hotels, one called Altes Hafenamt and the other 25 hours Hafen City! Only found this out when I reach the hotel, and has to walk from one to the other.

Das Hotel ist mega zentral und die Zimmer sehr schön und praktisch. Dieses Mal hatten wir sogar einen kleinen Sitzplatz in den Innenhof, welchen wir sehr genossen haben. Das Zimmer lag in Bar- und Restaurantnähe. Grundsätzlich gut, nur dass nach Mitternacht noch Flaschen klirrten vom Zusammen-und Wegräumen. Sonst wieder ein tolles Erlebnis. Danke

Man wird vom Personal ständig geduzt, mag sein dass das für junge Menschen OK geht, für mich absolut nicht. Ich empfinde es als herablassend und unhöflich. Zimmer 240 ….. winkelig und extrem dunkel. Das Hotel ist sein Geld nicht wert. Positiv erwähnt ….. die Garage. Ist auch für höhere und grössere PKW‘s geeignet.

I had some bad experiences during my stay at this hotel:
The Wi-Fi signal was very poor in my room. I notified the desk and they promised to check but nothing has changed afterwards.
The safe in the room was not working. The desk said they knew the problem but didn't offer any alternative solution to me. I had to carry all my valuable things with me all the time.
There was a cooking oil smell in my room on the 2nd floor because of the restaurant on the basement floor.
The breakfast was okay.

Forventninger blev desværre ikke indfriet
Personalet var sød og rart, desværre blev jeg taget imod af en som tydeligt havde svært med at udtrykke sig på engelsk. Ved checkout var kun en til at betjene. Lobbyen er hyggelig, men en ventetid på 20 min er lidt for meget og overraskende for et hotel af den standard. Værelset var ‘gemt’ lige ved siden af housekeeping, dvs fyldte deres store racks med sengetøj og håndklæder gangen og om morgen kunne man tydeligt høre arbejdsaktivitet- desværre ikke lige det jeg ønskede mig, når man betragter hvor meget en overnatning koster og formålet med opholdet. Vi havde ikke behov for at se byen.
