It's a great place if you're gonna stay a few days, the breakfast is great 👍 and the rooms too. Definitely I'd choose it again. If you have a lot of luggage, I'd strongly recommend go there through bus, if you take the S-Bahn there'll be a lot of stairs

Although the hotel is not city center, two bus stations are within a three minute walk of the hotel. The hotel is clean and modern and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. if you do not choose to partake in the breakfast at the hotel, there are small bakeries nearby.

The rooms were comparable to most chain hotels in Europe and the added water in the fridge was a bonus.

I would stay again.

Location okay, but not close enough to the center to walk, about 10 euro cab ride. Staff could be nice especially in the coffee shop which also is the restaurant if you are not part of a larger group. Room alright although bathrooms not made very functional.

We stayed at the hotel with a 9 month old baby- the cot provided was good. Traditional wooden cot with mattress. Staff were helpful when accommodating sterilising of bottles. Nice lady in cafe gave my son a free teddy- a nice gesture. Would recommend and stay again.

The hotel is a very good choice for any business travel to Hamburg. My colleagues and me all really appreciated the comfort and location in regards to the proximity to the Hamburg conference center. The rooms are in good condition and kept very clean. However, it was a shame that the breakfast staff that greeted us to assign a table was largely unfriendly and the staff clearing the area was very slow when it came to clearing plates and offering coffee.
I would stay again, but I wouldn't include the breakfast.

Good hotel, maybe more for businesss than leisure

Should maybe be titled 'city south' not city centre as it is a good 15-20 min walk to the centre, but a 5 min walk from s-Bahn which has good transport links to anywhere in Hamburg you'd want to go.

Rooms nice, everything provided including free safe. Hotel lobby clean, coffee shop on site and good food available at reasonable prices.

Great hotel.

Hotel located just outside the immediate centre but only 10 min walk from central station and on a direct bus route too. Hotel is very well appointed, clean, well presented and the breakfasts are superb. Highly recommended and ideal for that city break.

I ended up staying here two days longer than expected. The staff is friendly. But that just meant they smiled as they dropped the ball. Our room was never cleaned. The shower didnt drain. Ask for more towels?..Be prepared to wait or go to the basement to get them yourself as I did. It's really a neat place. Just seems they are more concerned with the restaurant downstairs than the hotel portion . After I that u can't say I wouldn't stay here again. But there has to be better options.

Decor a bit outdated, but a decent hotel

The hotel overall is good, but right opposite an extremely noisy building site where they start work at 07:00. Also, the room decor needs updating a bit. Other than that, - good hotel and it's fairly easy to get to the city centre from it. Breakfast was very tasty!

Fantastic rooms, great staff.

This hotel was incredible. North American sized rooms, full amenities, great atmosphere - and a wonderful staff. It's a little bit off the beaten path in terms of getting to tourist attractions and whatnot, but it seemed that there were a lot of business types staying at the hotel. The bar / lounge was buzzing, and a great coffee shop is part of the property.

We chose to stay at Mercure Hotel Hamburg City once again. The hotel is very nice. The service is great. They have a wonderful breakfast and great cocktails. If you do not feel like walking back into town, we recommend the hotel restaurant. You can easily walk into the town center in about 15 minutes. The hotel is by Mittel Kanal, which is very nice. You will not find shopping og dining in the immediate area, however. In Hamburg you do a lot of walking anyway!

Once again excellent !

We had stayed in Mercure in Rome few weeks earlier, so decided to do so again in Hamburg! Initially the location was a turn off on our final arrival, as we walked to the hotel from the station and being in a strange country it proofed hard to find! However with bus and train very near by we could reach centre 10-20 minutes max. once settled in!! Breakfast room and lobby staff very professional! Look forward to staying again in a Mercure !

Great Hotel in the city

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The plus points included a great and varied breakfast, big comfortable rooms, nice decor and seamless check in and out.
There isn't anything I can say needed to be improved. It is situated well for the city as it is on the outside edge so its easy enough to walk into the centre or catch a bus/train and is quiet.

we travelled with two children and they supplied the beds and cribs which were very nice and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very nice.

I would certainly stay here again.

We decided to go away over the Easter weekend and after looking at possible places to visit we settled on Hamburg. After looking around we found a combined flights and hotel deal and decided to go with it. The flights where through germanwings and the hotel the Mercury Hotel Hamburg City. Going of the hotels title 'city' we expected to be in the city centre but found that the hotel was on the very edge of the city centre with no services near by. While it might not seem far but it was at least a 20 minute walk before you reached the edge of the city centre and then another 15 minutes before you reached any shops.

Although the hotel seems to be a bit on the outskirts of central Hamburg it is only a few minutes walk from two stations and an easy 15 minute walk from the main railway station and the edge of the main shopping area. The staff are very helpful, and provided a kettle to supplement the coffee machine in the room, as I needed to have decaffeinated tea or coffee.
Don't expect good views from the rooms but there are plenty of other places for getting truly magnificent views . we had a most comfortable stay for 4 nights and would go back there.
You must visit Miniatur Wunderland which is either an easy train ride to the harbour area or about a 30 minute walk.

Very nice hotel in not such a nice area

This is an excellent Hotel though not situated in a particularly attractive part of Hamburg. Nevertheless it is only a 10min walk to the nearest S-Bahn station and within very easy reach of pretty much anywhere in Hamburg.

Es war soweit alles tadellos. Wir hatten Probleme beim Einschlafen, weil eine Lüftung defekt schien. Die Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption hat sich dies angenommen und war sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Keine Diskussion, sondern sehr empathisch.

The hotel is looking nice from the outside, but is \"refurbished\" and still old inside...Old floor carpet, terrible elevator etc. How can you make a wardrope in steel looking like a container, which makes a hell of a noise to open and close... They empty the garbage container at 5am in front of our room, how nice is this...
We have tried a lot of hotels in Hamburg, but this is the wurst experience we ever had

God service og venligt personale, dog overset at vi havde anmodet om en babyseng men kom straks op med denne da det blev påpeget. Børnene fik chokolade ifbm skt Nikolaus dag, men ellers manglede der lidt julestemning. Værelserne er små, og indretningen med skibscontainerdøre er bare irriterende og larmer en del - især med børn. Bruseniche meget plastik-agtig. Hotellet ligger godt mhp at gå til centrum men ligger op ad en stor vej som larmer noget (nok svært at undgå i Hamburg) og så larmer elevatoren også meget og kan høres på værelset på trods af værelset lå afsides af denne

Rent og pænt hotel. Gode senge, god udsigt, roligt og dejligt område og fine parkeringsforhold. Alt er i gå afstand. Morgenmaden var rigtig god men savnede dog lidt kage og nutella. Et ægte Mercure hotel, på den måde at alting var i orden.

Die Unterkunft war sauber und ansprechend. Leider war das Zimmer für 4 Personen sehr klein. Was auch gut wäre, wenn es ein kleines Gym im Hotel geben würde. Es gibt zwar eine Sauna, aber das ist auch nicht für jeden was. Die Umgebung vom Hotel bietet leider nichts ansprechendes. Es gibt zwei Tankstellen. Alles andere wirkt wie Gewerbe. Man benötigt ein Auto oder Transportmöglichkeit. Allerdings ist man dann in 5-10 min in der Hafen-City.

Eher ein in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel und für den Preis dann leider wirklich zu teuer und zu wenig. Das der Aufzug unseren kompletten Aufenthalt (3 Tage) defekt war und nur einer für alle Gäste zu Verfügung stand war nicht gut aber okay…
Der Parkplatz für Hotelgäste (28€ pro Tag) kostet weit mehr als umliegende Parkhäuser und daher leider auch absolut nicht zu empfehlen.
Beim Einchecken wurden wir recht genervt von einer Dame in meiner Meinung nach unpassender Freizeitkleidung begrüßet was ich für vier Sterne und den Preis sehr schwierig finde. Die Zimmer sind mit allem was man braucht ausgestattet aber auch nicht mit mehr. Der Fön ist eine einzige Katastrophe und gehört in den Müll. Sauberkeit ok aber nicht super gut. Das Frühstück war auf jeden Fall sehr reichhaltig allerdings eher weniger für Menschen mit Unverträglichkeiten oder Veganer*innen geeignet. Kaum Ersatz Produkte keine Heißgetränk mit anderer Milch und kein glutenfreies Brot. Allem in allem okay würde es aber auf keinen Fall für den Preis empfehlen.

Es la primera vez en mi vida que me grita un gerente en un hotel en la recepción. Nos quejamos 3 días consecutivos sobre la falta de limpieza en nuestro cuarto, al principio no tuvimos jabón para las manos, y a partir del segundo día nuestra habitación no fue limpiada. Al quejarme por segunda vez , en lugar de ser empáticos los del personal del hotel intentaron aleccionarme en mis modos de comunicar mi enojo a la situación siendo ellos agresivos y groseros gritándome a mi y a mí esposa mientras nuestras hijas veían todo. Sólo una persona accedió a tratar de resolver nuestras quejas . En general el servicio por parte del personal del lobby es DEPLORABLE y deberían de capacitarse en servicio y atención al cliente. He viajado por muchos países y me he hospedado en todo tipo de hoteles y jamás había vivido un trato así por parte del personal.

Erstmal vielen Dank für den unkomplizierten Aufenthalt. Das einchecken verlief ohne Probleme. Zu den Park-Möglichkeiten können wir nichts sagen, jedoch ist der Bahnhof nur 15 Gehminuten entfernt und an sich war alles gut erreichbar. Wir haben es vorallem gewählt, wegen der Nähe zum Harry Potter Theater. Verlasst euch da nicht aufs Navi. Das ganze ist nur über die Straße in die Nebenstraße rüber, an der Rezeption konnte man es uns gut erklären. Dies war unter 10min erreichbar. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend. Traurigerweise sollte so ein Zimmer schon in der heutigen Zeit Standard sein. Diese sind sauber, heile und die Matratzen bequem. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend und ansprechend, jedoch sollte man nicht nach 09.30h mehr hin, da man bei uns schon gegen 9.50h das Buffet am abräumen war und eigentlich es laut App bis 10.30h gehen sollte. Etwas das uns auch gestört hat, war der Renovierungslärm oder was es war, da gebohrt und gehämmert wurde ab ca. 8.30h. Mit ausschlafen war da nichts, wobei man ja auch zum Frühstück musste. Dies war durch den Lärm aber auch etwas unentspannt. Wir hätten uns beim Einchecken zumindest eine Informationen diesbezüglich gewünscht, damit man sich drauf einstellen kann. Die Gegend ist nicht die schönste, jedoch ist von dort alles schnell und gut erreichbar, dafür können die nichts. Alles im allen, war das Preis Leistungsverhältnis in Ordnung, vom Zimmer und Frühstück her, kein extremer Luxus, aber da bezahlt man halt die Zentrale Lage.

The breakfast is close to excellent, even for us active people who demand more fuel than some simple white bread, cookies etc. The staff was friendly and communication was easily executed in english (in contrast to most of the staff at Deutsche Bahn - unbelievable!!). The only minus I can think of was the hair of a previous guest all over the place in the bathroom...

Kundenservice Hotels.com?

5 Min nach Buchung war keine Änderung mehr möglich, obwohl mir ein Fehler bei der Buchung unterlaufen ist. Das ist kein Kundenfreundliches Verhalten. Hotels.com???????
Und dann nur eine falsche Rechnung ausstellen ist der Gipfel.
So etwas ist mir zuvor in keinem Hotel passiert!

Auf Zimmerreinigung wird auch komplett verzichtet und das bei dem Preis.

Zimmer mit Teppichboden nicht allergikerfreundlich.
Kühlschrank und Kleiderschrank als Container - mag witzig aussehen aber das laute Geräusch fürs öffnen und schließen ist ganz sicher nicht mehr angenehm.

Kein Wasserkocher im Zimmer.

Das Zimmer war groß und mit notwendigen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattet. Hygieneartikel lagen nicht im Bad bereit, das mag aber an Gesetzen o.ä. liegen, die das verbieten.
Es gab allerdings leider keinen Wasserkocher im Zimmer, was ich bei diesem Hotel auch schon erwartet hätte.

Das Design des Zimmers ist sehr schön, mit \"lokalen Akzenten\" wie zB der Kühlschrank und Flurschrank im Container-Style.

Der einzige technische Mangel war unsere Zimmertür, die im offenen Zustand nicht von selbst wieder zu fiel.

Das Bett war bequem und die Lage nach hinten raus, also ruhig.

Dummerweise wurde uns beim Check-in der Preis für eine Nacht in Rechnung gestellt, obwohl wir bereits über Hotels.com im Voraus bezahlt hatten. Das fiel erst etwas später auf, weil die Buchung schon eine Weile her war und ich mich später erst erinnerte.
So etwas darf eigentlich auf keinen Fall passieren, denn auf Rückfrage wurde von der - dann anderen - Mitarbeiterin sofort die doppelt gezahlte Nacht zurückerstattet. Es schien also bekannt gewesen zu sein, dass wir bereits bezahlt hatten.
