The staff at Moxy Hotel are lovely and I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

My room was clean and comfortable. The mattresses are quite firm.

The hotel is right by a S and U Bahn station which is convenient for travelling into the centre and from the airport. When I stayed (Nov 2025) there are works being done right by the hotel, on the walk from the station. This didn’t disturb my sleep in any way, though it means you have to walk down a small, quiet, poorly lit path to get to the hotel, which can feel intimidating if arriving alone in the dark - although, there are many other hotel customers from Moxy and nearby hotels using the same route all the time so it felt safe.

There aren’t a lot of food options in the area but the hotel does serve food and you are a couple S Bahn stops from the centre.

Overall I really enjoyed my stay, as I do any time I’m in a Moxy Hotel, particularly the welcoming and caring approach from all hotel staff.

My belief in the Moxy brand has been greatly impacted by this stay. I was disappointed by my first interaction with the front desk, when I was allocated a room with two single beds for me to sleep in. My request for a later check out was reluctantly agreed (one hour's grace), but not actually honoured. And the pizza I had from the 24-hour pizza bar (£10.48p for an 8-incher) was heated to a point where it was near inedible. In fact, the only staff I encountered who seemed genuinely friendly were the guys servicing the rooms.

I can almost guarantee that I'll not stay here again, having paid too whack for an indifferent stay.

The location is currently surrounded by heavy construction, both around the hotel and near the train station, which makes the area less pleasant to walk through. Unfortunately, the room lacked many of the basics I would expect for comfort: no mini fridge, no complimentary water, no coffee or tea-making facilities, no air conditioning, and no safe. I was surprised given this is a Marriott property.

While the staff were friendly and the room itself was clean, it was missing those small conveniences that really make a stay enjoyable. If you wanted water or coffee, you had to go downstairs to the front desk and pay inflated prices. There are limited nearby stores to pick up your own drinks or snacks.

Overall, a clean hotel with kind staff, but lacking amenities and surrounded by construction — personally wouldn’t stay again.

Cold room - too weak AC to heat the room in a few

I arrived in the evening. The ground floor room I received was freezing. Due to construction, it also had a huge dumpster right in front of my window. I turned on the AC. It was so weak that it could not heat the room in a few hours. I asked to change the room, but no room was available. I was told that the AC is not broken, but this is how it is in all rooms. Apparently, it was limited to save the hotel costs. You can ask a technician during the daytime to make it work better. It is the first time I am not happy with this hotel. The Staff was very nice, but could not solve the problem. They offered me a free breakfast, which was nice. Still, I prefer paying a few euros more and not freeze at night. It's kind of a basic request from a hotel...

The property have repeatedly ignored my communication when requesting the return of my security deposit for the room.

Upon checkout I was informed that it would take 1-2 days for the €90.00 (3 night) deposit to be returned to my account and I have still not received this.

I emailed twice and called once and would advise caution when checking in and asked for a deposit on the room on top of the full booking fee.

Very disappointed as I am out of pocket due to sheer ignorance and fraudulent processing of security deposit. This is despite me emailing my IBAN details afterwards too.

The hotel itself is fairly new and is great - nice big beds, spacious rooms. Powerful shower. The bar area downstairs is great, they serve breakfast and food there but we didn't eat.

My only issue is they advertise having air conditioning - however in reality its just an air purifier - we we told this by a staff member when we went to complain that our AC didn't seem to be working. Had I known this I wouldn't have chosen this hotel. My partner and I have. AC in our room at home, as we like the room to be cold. We struggled to sleep here, as we were too hot - even with the window open.

The area was nice, close to a train station where you could go to/from the airport and anywhere else you needed.

Had a very pleasant stay. The rooms and property are well maintained, and staff is very helpful. Not too far from the train and downtown is very accessible from here. There's a large supermarket down the road and a few restaurants for dining options. The only inconvenience we had was there is construction everywhere around the city and it was dusty. Also, lots of pedestrian and traffic rerouting. Hotel has a gym which was great for people who like to work out. Overall, it was decent and it has a pretty interesting decor and vibe.

We are Hilton Diamond level. We found ourselves in Hamburg to go on a cruise and there was no availability at the Hilton. We decided to roll the dice and stay here.

The staff were an 11 out of 10. Every interaction with them was awesome. We mistakingly printed our cruise form on double sided and needed it printed single sided. The hotel does not have a 'business center' but they said, email what we need printed to them. It was done immediately. We were stupid typical Americans and forgot that electrical outlets are not universal :) They were considerate enough to lend us an adaptor for no charge. Our luggage was lost by BA and I told the staff that they may be delivered. The staff asked if we wanted to be texted or called when the luggage arrived. Just the smallest nicest touch!

We did not get the breakfast option and that worked out for us. We did use the bar/food service and was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable cost. For other Americans out there, imagine what a 8 Buffalo Wing and Fries would cost at a Hilton. It was 9 euros. It was also damn good! We wound up having that twice during the 3 days we were there!

The location of the hotel is about a five minute walk to the Berliner Tor train station. About 1000' past the station is a huge grocery store, Kaufland.

Now, the room, ok, it was small compared to US Hiltons. It was typical for EU rooms. We liked the automatic floor lights.

Keep away from MOXYS

Had my room emptied after 2 nights, even though had booked 3 nights. Reason given by housekeeping was because there was no bag . My suitcase took 3 days to catch up with me as had been lost by the airline. Comlained to reception, apologies offered.
No tea/coffee facilities in the room. No draws or cupboards to store anything.
On check out was over charged city tax. Complained later in day by phonecall as unable to contact them by email. Manager said would look into the matter and call me back. To date no contact from him.
Stay away from all Moxys, this is the 2nd one I've used. Enough is enough never aain.

It's a good place to stay, but the area is known to be a bit shady. Close to public transport and not far from all the nice inner city stuff. I, unfortunately, went on a very popular weekend and the 150€/night that I paid was too much for this. I would consider 70 - 80€ an appropriate price. The room was itself was ok and the beds where very good. The shower was great too, except for the awfully sweet, strong smelling shower gels & soap. Gave me a headache. The overall style is modern and minimalistic but lacking the cleverness of a certain competing popular chain.
Example: 2 people, 4 towels but only one tiny towel rail to hang them all up. No closet but a fixture across the wall with 4 coat hangers attached at random heights. They were installed on fixed spots so we could not hang our clothes at another, more convenient spot. There was no coffee machine or mini fridge. All very basic. Unfortunately, our otherwise quiet room was next to a very squeaky door (staff room maybe), that started to wake us up around 06:00 in the morning.

Overall def. not a stay worth 150€/night, but perfectly fine for half the price. Despite my complaints, I would choose the Moxy again. Staff was nice too

Very helpful and attentive staff members. The lobby area and rooms are brand new and done to a high standard. The location is only 10 mins walk from the main station (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof) and a short walk to the closest station (Berliner Tor). The only improvements would be to the facilities provided in the room - no bin in the main bedroom, just a bathroom bin. Unfortunately there's no tea/coffee making facilities, and no wardrobe, just a few hangers by the TV. Other than that, a great room that is in a food location to explore Hamburg.

The only thing I like to complain is the headboard of bed is wood and there’s some kind of material they pasted that the “DUST” would really get stuck and accumulate in that headboard. I was sneezing and sneezing in that bedroom and when I go out side I’m all good. So I suspect it’s the dust in that headboard that needs to clean well or take out that material that been pasted in that headboard. Otherwise, everything is good!

Moxy is for me a hotel trying to give off an upmarket youth hostel vibe. I loved the attention to detail, decor, common areas… my 12-year old daughter came to visit and the lounge bar/lobby area really impressed her, so much that she went about photographing everything. Great staff, very friendly. I regularly stay in mid-range business hotels in Hamburg and this one is definitely one of my favorites.

The crime rate in Hamburg is ridiculous. I locked my valuables in my safe; however, I did some shopping in the city. And when I came home I noticed some of the stuff I purchased was missing. My bags went directly from this room to my home. So the items must have been stolen from this hotel. If you do purchase items, make sure to make them look old. Or for more safety try to fit as much as you can inside the safe. Their hotel staff is filled with thieves. There is no point in reporting to managers, nothing will happen. They will call the police and make a big show of it, but nothin happens. Therefore, protect yourself.

Outstanding. The hotel is new. It opened a week ago. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were large and comfortable. WiFi is excellent. The bed was super comfortable. The location is 5 mins from Berliner Tor Sbahn and Ubahn. And 1 stop from Hauphbahnhof. I travel a lot. For the first time 10/10. Thank you Moxy Hamburg.

Das Frühstücksbuffet könnte etwas mehr Auswahl bieten bei dem Preis aber die Zutaten waren frisch und es wurde auf Qualität wert gelegt. Zimmer ist sauber und der Zimmerservice hat jeden Tag die Betten gemacht und geputzt. Der Service allgemein war top, bei Fragen stand jederzeit jemand zur Verfügung und das Personal war immer freundlich, hilfsbereit und Lösungsorientiert. Auch das frühe Auschecken um 5h war kein Problem.

Fint hotell, trevlig personal. Vi hade inte frukost då det inte ingick och skulle kosta oss 250kr per person varje dag! Hotell ligger ca 5-10 min från tunnelbanan. Dock var området runtomkring väldigt obehagligt. Mycket fylla, droger , hemlöshet. Vi vågade inte gå ut på kvällen.

Propre, silencieux et avec son style.

Un hôtel joli où tout est bien organisé, propre, et silencieux. Service impeccable. Des choix stylistiques audacieux, mais finalement assez agréables.
La localisation n'est pas parfaite, mais le souci était largement du aux travaux en cours dans la zone, pas du tout de la faute de l'hôtel.
