no ice or refrigerator?

Nice new hotel in a good location. But I was a little dismayed the the hotel does not have in room refrigerators. Nor do they have ice machines on the floors. In order to get something refrigerated you have to leave it with the front desk and they would put it in a refrigerator in their office. AND if you want Ice, you have to go to the front desk (again) and have them get you ice from the bar. While the staff was happy to accomodate, I found this to be inconvenient. If the staff was busy, you had to wait for them to check people in or out. Kind of stupid.

Our stay was wonderful. We came the day before our cruise. We were allowed an early check in which was perfect after flying in almost 24 hrs from CA. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The individual duvets were incredible!! Every staff member we encountered was kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was well worth the cost and the restaurant bar also had great food. There were plenty of eateries in walking distance from the hotel and the hop on hop off bus was just a short distance away as well. Loved our stay!!

Despite its otherwise high ratings, this hotel does NOT distinguish itself. It is a very average hotel with small, dark rooms in an area that is actually pretty scary late at night. I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Nice room and well maintained. Seemed very quiet at first, but during the first (of three) nights, there were loud vehicles outside with things being dropped in them, maybe around 03.00 or 04.00. I was on the fifth floor; there is a gym on the floor above. For some reason they allow people to use this from 06.00, which of course, can be heard on the floors below. The sixth floor should be closed until 08.00 out of respect for guests in their rooms.

Hotel was amazingly clean. Staff are very nice. Special Shout out to MARIAN, he is an exceptional worker. He works in the restaurant/Dining area. He made sure that we are taken care of. Most of the restaurant staff don't speak english but very respectful and nice. Marian goes out of his way to make sure we get what we need and he always ask us if we are doing good. Btw, i didnt know that breakfast buffet was included in the price that we paid for. Breakfast buffer was great. There are bunch of breakfast variety from eggs, bacon, all type of breads, sausages, waffles and a lot more. Bus station is nearby, and can walk to grocery stores. I would go back to this hotel.

Holiday Inn hafencity was an okay experience.
The facility was very nice and beautiful but when we checked out the front desk clerk was not very good, Milan. Not sure if it’s because we’re visiting from out of the country but didn’t feel welcomed by him.

Great value for good quality

The hotel is great for business in HafenCity - location could not be better. Staff are ultra-friendly and the breakfast is generous and delicious.

Minor gripes would be lack of a safe as standard in the room and it being far too hot, despite lowering the aircon for 3 days.

It is a Holiday Inn so it is clean and efficient, no surprise. The breakfasts were good but requiring guests to reserve time slots is puzzling. Unlike lunches or dinners, who would want to set the morning alarms for breakfasts when you are on vacation?

The hotel is conveniently located within a 5 to 10-minute walk of four bakeries/coffee shops, and is 5 minutes from the Prototyp Auto Museum. Our room was spacious and clean. Our bed was comfortable. The bottle of water in the room was not replenished. The bathroom toiletries were also never replenished. The buffet breakfast was delicious, but very expensive, and costs even more if not booked one evening in advance.

Too expensive for what you get

- No parking available when we arrived - had to use public parking
- There was a line of 10 minutes to get a coffee from the machine during breakfast
- No drinking water in the room
- At checkout we had to wait for 20mins to check out as only one desk of several was staffed. This was at 9am which is the main checkout time.

For the price we paid (nearly 200EUR for one night) I would expect and am used to a better service.

Brand new Holiday Inn, built to a high standard - comfortable, stylish and with a good standard of service. Hafencity location is great for me as my business connections are there. City centre is an easy walk away or two stops on the UBahn from a nearby station. Didn't eat or drink there so can't comment on the catering.

Spacious room, comfy bed, air conditioning, decent fitness area with dumbbells up to 25kg. Next to train stop. 15 minute walk into city centre. We didn’t eat as breakfast was expensive (17 euros per person). Instead we ate at hobencook. Amazing breakfast in a rustic warehouse!

This is a very nice clean new hotel. Even though it sits back away from the center of the city but it's within a walkable distances. Staff were very nice, they allowed us to check in early. Subway station is three minute walking distance and bus stop is right in front of the hotel.

This is not your typical Holiday Inn like they are in the US -- This was very modern, up to date, clean and comfortable! The beds were extremely comfortable, the staff was friendly and very helpful. They have an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet in the morning that is a bit pricey, but they had some great things like smoked salmon, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my stay.

Also want to note that this was in a safe neighborhood and a pretty good location. You still may need to walk to visit some of the sites around the area.

My only complaint was that the shower smelled pretty weird (and this was before i even had used it) for the entire stay.

No soap in the bathroom on arrival, no housekeeping to rectify, lukewarm \"hot water\" in the tub, broken towel hooks, poor fitness room for strength training, expensive breakfast, difficult location with respect to traffic and taxi availability. Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in Hamburg. Das Hotel liegt zentral. Fußläufig sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Elbphilharmonie und das Maritim-Museum erreichbar. Das Personal war äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir erhielten ein Zimmer im obersten Stock welches geräumig und komfortabel eingerichtet war. Das Frühstück war vielfältig und lecker.
