The hotel was nice, the room too, the only thing that they can improve is the breakfast, they have just one person attending, so the coffee and chocolate was cold. The lady was nice but she was alone doing everything.

Great location but disappointing in many ways.

The room was distant from our car/main building so luggage had to be hauled up some wooden stairs and along several corridors. At night these corridors were badly lit making the journey to our room hazardous. Wi-Fi was very poor and intermittent and really only worked in reception. Breakfast was very poor value for the money and the service was indifferent. There was a distinct difference between rooms in the hotel and the rooms in the annex which were dark with poor lighting. We could certainly not recommend these rooms.

Great stay - fancy but warm and easy going too! The paths and gardens were a joy to experience! The dinner was wonderful! The breakfast I would consider a little “light” but service GREAT. Lucas was excellent and fun.

Our room was spacious, lovely, and quiet! Internet was not the best but then doing without it was good too!

We were so excited to stay here for our time in Loire valley to drive around and tour castles. It was neat to stay on the grounds of one of these chateaus and it was a good location for that! Unfortunately, it’s a bit outdated as far as amenities (which, you might expect for a building this old)—no AC, rickety stairs, and hard to navigate with a suitcase. We slept with the windows open since we were there during a heatwave and because there were no window screens, ended up with bug bites. We had dinner on site; service was friendly but food was plain for the price. Left early to catch a train in the morning and got sprayed by the sprinklers as soon as we stepped out the door, the final straw after navigating the dark hallways and tripping down some stairs in an unlit hallway. Overall, would mayyybe stay here again if we came in fall or spring when weather is more temperate, but would plan to eat elsewhere and bring my husband to take the luggage up :)

The evening meal was very poor .There was no choice and the main course was rice and veal but neither had any seasoning For 33 euros ahead it was very poor value and the three courses were served in under half an hour . We will not return again although we stayed two years ago was fine but we did not eat in the hotel

Stop looking - stay here! The staff was kind and helpful and the property and chateau are gorgeous. One of the favorite places we've ever stayed. Take advantage of a wonderful dinner there or they also have good recommendations for local places to dine and visit. Highly, highly recommended.

It was a 15th century château, it was a great and very rare experience to stay in the building like that.
It was extensive garden. The château was well preserved with the necessary mod con added to make our stay very comfortable.
Margot was very pleasant and helpful to theguests and had good suggestions for local places & vigneyards to visit. I would love to re-visit Loire valley and stay at the château again.

Beautiful château in a fantastic quiet setting. Able to accommodate parking my bicycle safely there.
The room was well presented, tidy and well furnished.
The lounge was great to sit and relax with a drink with drinks brought to your seat. Hot drinks also available.
The breakfast was also very good with a good selection available of pastries, bread, fruit, yogurt and cereal. Freshly squeezed juice, excellent coffee.

The chateau was beautiful. And the grounds are beatiful.
We had tequested the lovely luxury room photographed in the listing and even after a second email to reconfirm our request, we did not receive the room we requested. It would have been appreciated to have received communication from the chateau that they were not able to accommodate our request.
On a different note, we felt the breakfast did not meet the level of excellence that would be expected from a hotel of this level and there was an additional charge for it. We were asked what we wanted the night before and our eggs were not delivered, our coffee, came late and was cold, our suggestion would be to offer a buffet with better choices appropriate to the level of service of a 4 star accommodation. We cancelled our breakfast for the last two days of our stay as we were so dissappointed in the choices and quality on our first morning.
This is a lovely location that needs to improve their breakfast service.

Amazing property in beautiful grounds. Room was in need of some renovation. Stains on the carpet and walls and furniture was damaged and not what we expected for a superior room - it didn’t seem to match the room that was shown on the booking website but it was a property full of character and interest. The shower was lovely.
Sadly we were informed by telephone just before we arrived that the restaurant was not going to be open. This was one of the main reasons for booking a hotel with a restaurant on site and we had to make do with a sandwich from a service station, which was not how we planned to spend the last night of our holiday. Also no kettle or facilities for making a hot drink in the room. No bar, although advertised, but we were told that the hotel staff could get us a drink if we requested one. There was not a menu for this and felt difficult. The staff were all friendly and cheerful, despite obviously having had a very busy weekend. We had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready, however we did enjoy looking round the shop and gardens. Would have preferred to have arrived and had a nice cup of coffee after a six hour drive. We also had to decide what our breakfast choice was going to be on arrival. At this point we had no idea what we might fancy and found breakfast underwhelming tbh.
Felt this could have been an amazing stay but just lacked the finishing touches that we had experienced in the other hotels on our trip (in the same price range).

We enjoyed our two night stay at Château de la Bourdaisière. It was our first time staying in a chateau, and we found the experience to be memorable. The cheateau grounds are beautiful, the room we had was spacious (with a large bathroom that had both a shower and tub), and the staff was very welcoming. Both the interior and exteriors were clean.

We dined wine the hotel twice — once for breakfast and once for dinner. The breakfast was continental style. We enjoyed it. The dinner was underwhelming (maybe it was just that particular night, since they rotate the menu). I would plan on eating out in Amboise or Tours, which are a short drive away.

Overall, I would recommend the chateau for other guests, and I would be happy to stay again.

Atmospheric Chateau but in need of a little upgrading. Staff were great and very helpful. Grounds were excellent to walk round. Breakfast was quite reasonable but dinner was poor value. Definitely plan on eating out.
Rooms were huge but our bathroom had only a bath with no shower which given how big it was seemed a little strange.
The Chateau is dog friendly which we appreciate and overall we enjoyed our stay

Another World a few hours from Paris.

There is infinitely more value in a valid old hotel than in boring modern one when the prices are comparable. Revel in the magic of the days that are gone, except where somebody puts the effort into keeping it here awhile longer. Elevator, TV, Internet - high ceilings, open beams, gardens, shops, restaurant, park. The latter features are worth coming for.

We stayed for three glorious nights, using this chateau as a home base while we explored the other chateaus of the Loire valley. It was magical. The staff was warm and welcoming. The room was beautiful. The grounds were amazing - acres and acres to explore.

We didn't have time to swim, but the pool is beautiful - set back from the chateau and surrounded by grass, with a lovely little pool house for changing and lounging.

Since we were out all every day, we didn't eat much at the chateau, but what we did was great. They had breakfast set up in various downstairs rooms, and dinner outside near the tomato garden.

I would LOVE to stay here again if I ever get the chance.

A beautiful chateau with elegant rooms and a few endearing nooks and crannies to explore. The oak beams and creaks remind you the place is over 600 years old, but there is a pool and tennis court too. If you want an amazing experience and more space than Paris, rent a car and get to this chateau. You will be made welcome and will wish you booked for longer. We are sorry to leave and will be back.

Our stay at the castle was fantastic. Warm and friendly reception at check in, and very helpful staff. The grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed strolling the garden, playing tennis and swimming in the pool. Great location as it is a quiet and peaceful setting, yet an easy drive to Amboise and the castles. I highly recommend this chateau.

This was an amazing experience for my family. The chateau is on a large lot with wooded area vegetable gardens and surrounding gardens as well. It’s an authentic experience. Everyone at the chateau was very accommodating and incredibly helpful. We visited Leonardo da Vinci house near by and other castles. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to return to the wonderful place.

We were expecting to stay in the castle and got the barn! Very old room needed upgrading no lift so we had to carry all of our luggage up old rickety stairs very unsafe. We had a very far walk to our room. Nothing was open like the tea room. Beautiful property but needs work.

This is a beautiful property, with extensive gardens and trails featuring ecological information as well as an homage to the novel “The Little Prince” by Antoine de St. Exupery! There’s also a tomato garden and gift shop with many tomato products. The château itself is beautiful, with lovely rooms that are beautifully decorated and have the original wooden beams! And finally, the staff is very friendly and courteous.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the chateau which was beautifully decorated and had interesting grounds to explore. The staff were very friendly, helpful and responsive in their communications. We had dinner outdoors at the Tomato Bar and it was delicious. Our family room was spacious and included two bathrooms. After touring several castles in the Loire Valley, it was a fun experience to stay at one on our final night in France. Highly recommend a stay here and hope to return in the future.

This is a magical place. The theme of the gardens Is drawn from The Little Prince. They also may be the world’s greatest authority on tomatoes. Look it up. We wish we had grandchildren to take here. Madame Laetitia is a great hostess and a wonderful human being. We will be back!

Beautiful public areas - shabby bedroom. Was highly recommended by the telegraph - particularly the dinner at the bar tomato. The dahlia and tomato garden were beautiful but the set menu dinner was mostly inedible. What a shame. When I gave feedback to reception my remarks were met with a Gallic shrug…fortunately they allowed is to leave early. Great for a day visit as grounds are stunning.

I cannot say enough good things about this chateau. We had a choice of rooms, either in the actual chateau or the adjoining charming building which once was a 17th century building to stable the horses and is an essential part of the chateau. We chose the converted stable room and enjoyed it very much. The room was a bit tricky and interesting to find, could have used a map to get to it once you entered the historic old building. The beauty and charm of the 16-17th century chateau is beyond description. The room was spacious, bed was super, bathroom was the best, view of the chateau from our window was exquisite. The tomato bar was unique and enjoyable for at least one dinner. The gardens are beautiful and the landscape with the chateau in the picture is something out of a fairy tale. The beauty of all the trees including the gorgeous sequoias is something to behold. We would highly recommend this accommodation and would love to revisit it in the near future.

The AD is misleading - you don't sleep in the Chateau, but in the building next to it. there is no lift and to get to your room you need to climb really steep stairs and go thru long hallway with 5 different doors and not enough lights

What an amazing start to our trip! Everything about our stay in this stunning chateau was so much more than we could have possibly hoped for. Our rooms were spacious and clean, the food was very affordable, fresh (most fruit and veg came straight from the garden), the grounds were stunning, especially the veg and dahlia garden. This was by far one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed and really delivered on all levels!

Beautiful chateau for cool weather!

First the good news. Beautiful property, inside and outside! Our room was very spacious and the bathroom was by far the best we've had in all our stay in the Loire. Now, for the bad part, we stayed in a building of what might have been a former carriage house. We were on the second floor and the climb to our room with luggage, was atrocious! Since we're in the attic, the sun hit it directly, which means it got very hot...of course there is no A/C and the only relief comes from a portable fan provided by the resort. Also, contrary to the description on hotels.com website; no TV in the bedroom! So, as long you're not coming in late spring like us or summer, you should be fine. I'm guessing the rooms inside the chateau will be a lot cooler, but can't say for sure! Overall, I enjoyed my stay there.

We were very pleased with our stay. The chateau is situated on a huge property that includes manicured gardens as well as natural forest. Walking trails thru the forest were great. The chateau itself has a warm, timeless ambiance from another era. It has a cozier feel than the other more famous Loire Valley chateaus you’ll visit, and it was really nice to come back to after a long day of touring. It’s a good base, relatively centrally located, for exploring the rest of the Loire Valley

What could be improved? Beware if you’re booking online that only some of the rooms are located in the main chateau that’s pictured in the advertising. The other rooms are in an adjacent building called the “pavilion” and while those rooms are okay, access is awkward (via a creaky and twisting wooden staircase), there is no elevator for hauling luggage, and no TV (internet was okay, though). You still have access to the common areas of the main chateau, but if you were expecting to be staying in the chateau itself, then you may be disappointed. We booked thru Expedia and this was certainly not clear.

AMAZING PROPERTY

This property is a chateau in the center of the Loire Valley. First, you will not find a better location. It is ideally-situated to discover all of the history, castles, chateaux and estates in this part of France. The staff is incredible. We had an issue with our room which was rectified while we were out one day sightseeing. We ate dinner at the Chateau one evening (delicious). The rooms are beautiful and you will think you are back in 15th and 16th century France. There is nothing \"hotel-like\" about this property. Well furnished public (dining, sitting, relaxing) rooms. The best, I mean THE BEST water pressure I have ever experienced in a shower; and BIG towels. The grounds are lush and allow you to walk around. Great little hideaways on the property if you want to be with that special someone for an enchanting fairytale-like experience. LOOK NO FURTHER...you will be very pleased. There was a festival happening at the chateau which we took in the moment but really did take away from our Châteaux experience. There was no restaurant open which they had emailed but no email explaining the festival. We didn’t want breakfast just coffee and they served us an extortionist price for Instant. What a beautiful, magical place! We only had one day and night in the Loire Valley but we will be sure to return to this lovely castle.
If you go, be sure to book a dinner that, a very special experience.

Really nice chateau with gorgeous drive up appeal and surrounding area. Had a nice walk around the property. Very few guests were there and made for a quiet stay.
was informed that check in was open until 22:00 which made planning much easier knowing you could arrive later in the evening.
We stayed in a 2 room suite that was much better then expected. It included a small room with 2 single beds and a larger room with a king size bed. It also had 2 separate baths with one having a tub/toilet and the other shower/toilet setup.

What a professional welcome we received. Felt like royalty ourselves. To stay in such an historic building in such comfort was indeed a highlight of our trip.
Dinner was a delight and even though the waitress was limited in her English she was a ray of sunshine and her service was faultless.

Would go back in a heartbeat!

Beautiful chateau.

Loved this place! It was a perfect end to our trip. Beautiful chateau with a very friendly, helpful staff and the dinner served was one of the best I had on my trip to France! We had a 2 bedroom room/2 bathroom, plenty of space for 3 people. The gardens and woods were picturesque to walk through even in October. Loved this place. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Loire Valley Chateau

No door on bathroom pottery room. Parking lot was very dark and dangerous. Room had lady bugs on floor and window sills. Bath towels were worn and thin. No coffee in rooms or lobby.

We’re SO happy that we stayed in the Chateau de la Bourdaisiere. The place is fabulous, the people extremely helpful, and it’s very well located. It was a magical start for our 10th anniversary trip. I look forward to come again with the children.

King for a day... or two

Nothing feels quite as grand as approaching an 18th century chateau to spend a few days. Bourdaisiere certainly fits the bill, with the feel of a country estate. We enjoyed dinner in the formal dining room and breakfast gazing out to the gardens. Food and reception staff were more than accommodating, but be aware that history has its compromises; the plumbing was necessarily added after construction and not everything functions as you might expect. Our shower functioned erratically and did not drain well. Also, note that dining options off-site are at minimum 20 minutes away.

The Garden is the real showstopper

After visiting the Chateau de Villandry earlier in the day, we discovered the amazing gardens at our hotel, which we had to ourselves. If you plan on staying here, skip Villandry enterely as these gardens overshadow Villandry.

The Chateau itself was quite nice. Breakfast was good, but pricey, and ordering was a little confusing. Overall, would definitely recommend staying here!

What could be improved: no robes, no real frills other than water in the room. No bubble bath, no conditioner. Was missing some small luxury touches that Western hotels seem to have nailed. Wifi (yes I know it's a CHATEAU) was not really usable it was so poor.

Great visit - RESERVATION NEEDED FOR DINNER

I can absolutely recommend a stay here. If you want to have dinner at the chateau the night of your stay MAKE A RESERVATION IN ADVANCE. The dining room is small and filled up before our arrival. The gardens of the chateau are a must visit.

Lovely grounds and gardens. Large comfortable room. Ate their tomatoes at the Tomato Bar and the green tomato lemonade was delicious. Good restaurants in town, La Tour Angelle served one of our best meals in 15 days in France.

Spectacular setting, amazing food, very good value

An incredible building with amazing rooms and facilities. The grounds are spectacular, you could spend a whole day wandering around the various gardens. The rooms are done out in a classic French style which takes you back to the 18th century, and the restaurant was top class and excellent value for money. I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a bit of luxury at a very reasonable price.
