Staff were nice but the property is very worn and in drastic need of a refurbishment. Our A/C unit did not work properly and leaked a torrent of water all over our things so had to move rooms. Although the views are very nice it is situated on a very steep site so lots of steps to climb or rely on the shuttle bus. Definitely not worth the premium rates they are charging.

We had a 10 day stay in a pool villa and it was fabulous! The facility is a little dated but the vibe is pure chill! Having our own pool was fabulous and the staff are all so friendly. I had a number of spa treatments and always left feeling so relaxed. I would definitely stay here again.

It’s not kids friendly as there are no kids activities. Rooms’ structure becomes old now.

Love the location, surroundings, ambience, the staff, amenities, food and drinks.

Too bad the travel agent office has closed else it would be very easy to arrange for sightseeing and day trips. But the reception was equally as helpful.

The property location is perfect, not too far from Patong and Karon town to give you the quiet and seclusion, but close enough to access both commercial areas of Patong and Karon town, beach with a short taxi or tuk-tuk ride.

Hats off also to the minute details taken care at the property, like Geo (the Management Trainee) who introduced himself and genuinely asked for feedback and engage us as guests, and down to the detailed housekeeping who brought us water each day and takes the effort to call us, even though we put the sign out that room housekeeping was not required. And finally, the music played around the pool area is perfectly suited for the chill atmosphere on the site, lounge EDM, that brings vibrancy to the area.

Overall, a top property and I will definitely be back again!

The hotel is beautiful. The property is on the older side, but very well kept and very clean. The villas are self contained which is super nice, very private. The property is surrounded by greenery, singing birds and the views are spectacular. The staff are so kind and always went above and beyond. Karon beach is very close, you get access through a trail path that is a bit steep down hill but not more than a 15min walk. The food options are limited nearby so you have to take a taxi to Karon village or other surrounding areas for more options. Overall, great value for an excellent experience.

Once you get there you are stuck!
Costs 4000 Baht return trip to Karon- you cannot walk there after dark as it is on a busy road.
This resort is dated.
Villa pool was good.
Staff were nice and responsive.
Restaurant was good.
Breakfast OK.
You need to catch a ride to get to your room from the reception- would not recommend persons with impaired mobility!

This is a hidden little jem In Karon beach.,
The property is nestled amongst lush gardens with dozens of butterflies and spectacular ocean views., These beautiful villas We’re on the oldest side but well maintained And comfortable for our 10 day stay. The staff were incredibly hospitable and super helpful with whatever our needs were. Nothing was too much trouble., It is worth noting that this property has a lot of stairs which makes accessibility a bit of a downside to some travellers However, there is a hotel Twitch can come and pick you up at any stage and drop you off to your room., The other thing this property is a beautiful quiet serene Accommodation., A short walk to Karon Beach And town. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The staff were outstanding - attentive and went out of their way to help. Lush landscaping - so many butterflies- and small but lovely pools to cool off. It’s built on a hillside so lots of steps (but you can get a shuttle service quickly and easily). A great place if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxed, and refreshing experience.

Lovely resort hotel. Ocean view villas had view of the ocean but to access the lobby, it is best to call the buggy as all villas located on hilly terrain. No problem with waiting for the buggy. Location was great for us as we drove.

The property is set in beautiful surroundings. Very steep and hilly which is not for everyone. Need to get picked up by property’s Tuk Tuk to reception dining and pool. We stayed near the pool so that was easy. The difficult and dangerous part is access to the beach from the pool. There are a lot of uneven steps and limited railings. We loved being there had easy access into Karon Centre at night for 200bht lots of yummy restaurants and market.

We loved our stay at Centara Villas. We had the King room with private pool, views were stunning, room was very clean and comfortable bed. A small amount of maintenance would make this property 10/10. We made a small request and maintenance was at our room within ten minutes for the repair. Staff went above and beyond, friendly service. The food was exceptional. A path to the beach makes Karon beach easily accessible. We would definitely stay here again.

This property was a real hiding gem. First it setting in a garden like area with the beach adjacent from your room. The staff was very friendly especially Shopper at check in. I can’t remember the other staffs name from the front desk but they were extremely pleasant as well. One of my most favorite things about this property was the breakfast buffet! Wow it was so amazing and had several things to choose from. The only down side is that the rooms are a bit dated and the shower curtains looked moldy. However, we had the pool villa so we didn’t really care about that. Overall this place was great, I would definitely stay again.

Excellent excellent excellent!!! We love everything about this hotel! The oceanview from our room is amazing. Each room is separated like a private villa. The service is above and beyond!! The location is on top of the hill so it get very good sea breeze. Even though the hotel doesn’t have the gym, but we can use all the facilities at Centara Grand including the beach chairs which is about 5 minutes hike.
Or if you don’t want to walk, the hotel also have a shuttle bus to Centara Grand 3 times a day.

The ocean view really isn’t that great. There are a ton of stairs! It also felt really cheap that this hotel doesn’t offer a free shuttle service even to their sister hotel which is two minutes down the road. The sister hotels beach chairs are no longer allowed to be on the beach which also was a huge bummer.

Our 3rd visit. Absolutely recommend the Pool Villas. So quiet with a beautiful view of the sea. Very private. Just be aware of the amount of steps, you rely on the Mini Car service to get you to the Lobby/restaurant. Also, factor in you really need a taxi to go anywhere. 250Baht Karon, 350Baht Patong.

This villas has a very beautiful landscape, Amazing sea and trees view, quiet, peaceful, very relaxing! We only use a pool near Spa, it s a fantastic great size pool surrounding by trees, there is a shop selling drinks and order foods near the pool, it’s quite hot in afternoon, would be great if the villas provide free ice and drinking water at pool, over all it was fantastic stay, staffs are very nice and friendly. we will definitely go back again.

This property is beautiful, however you do have to climb MANY stairs to get around.
There is a little walk way to the beach about a 10 minute walk to the town from the beach.
Only complaint was there was a old room service food tray from previous guests on our patio that we could seem to get anyone to take away.
We were only there for about 2 nights so wasn’t bad.
Wasn’t my favorite hotel, but good for price.

OK for the price - staff are exhausting

This villa style hotel must have been great back in the day. Today, it is clear that Centara is putting no extra investment into this property. They seem to cut back at every turn, whether it is bathrooms that have rust drippage on the walls, lack of properly stocked rooms upon check in (we had no towels, for example, and when they brought some they only brought one for 2 people), or staff levels that leave you waiting 20+ minutes for the shuttle up the hill to the lobby (we waited 20+ minutes more than once during our 5 night stay). The bones of this place are great, but it clearly is in need of some tender love and care, and the staff do try hard but don't quite cut it (I think it's a management issue). When we checked in our room wasn't available for the first night so we had to stay in a different villa the first night then switch after that, which was very annoying when you just want to check in and relax. The views are very good from their restaurants and from most ocean view villas. However, some of the \"ocean views\" are more peeks than anything. All in all, this place was available and affordable when we booked it (during the very-busy Chinese New Year period) so I guess our experience explains why. The positives are that it is very close to Patong for night life and Karon beach is fairly accessible (5-10 min walk). all in all a 3 out of 5.

Nice hotel amongst greenery on the hill

Was a lovely hotel on the hill near Karon Beach among lovely greenery.
The villa was lovely in location but we were a little disappointed in condition as photos online seemed very modern and clean, yet ours was in need of an update.

We are active and a good thing as villas, pool and lobby all a steep climb on stairs.
The track down to Karon Beach from villas was an eye opener and a leg workout via a not well maintained pathway and steep stairs then across rocks when the tide is out.
This may have been good for us, but if unaware could be a big disappointment for the unfit, elderly or disabled.

The times we needed the staff and food were great majority of the time, but a couple of issues did spoil the moment.
Room service on one occasion after a long tour day didn't arrive at all.
Only after we rang twice did they offer to give us a free dinner the next night.
Food is over priced compared to few minutes down to town.

We were unwell on one day and so put up the sleeping eye sign they hang on door to use for cleaners, only to be woken up by phone ringing to come and clean, was not happy with that.

I have stayed in Karon Beach before but at a different hotel and after comparing, must be honest and advise that these villas need a big overhaul in condition.
Still enjoyed most of holiday here though.

The property was beautiful! Centara Villas is built around the cliff of a mountain side. Villas boast an amazing ocean view. I would caution there are many, many steps to climb on the property. The lush gardens filled with butterflies and geicos was breathtaking. This property is a nature lovers dream. The crashing waves can be heard from your villa as you watch parasailers go by.

Top of Heaven stay in Phuket

I have choosen Centara Villas Phuket after I have early check out from another hotel. First I arrived at reception as I have met with all staffs on their smiling faces, a porter went to escort the suitcases. The check in was very smooth, the welcome drink; cold roselle juice begin served. Luckily, there was room available at the moment therefore I have checked in to the room in the reasonable time. The way to guest room has provided the mini truck service up/down the hills. The room was fantastic SEA view from the top of heaven hill. In room amenities were well set up and up to Centara standard, however the television signal doesnt work as regulary and the freez does also not working, at the point i called to reception desk so their staff went so quickly to solve the issues; all is solved smoothly. The beach is located about 10 minutes on walk over the hotel part, there are a connecting beach with Centara Grand Karon beach: the hotel beach couldnt access, due to the stones conditions. In the afternoon provids the Bay View restaurant with the great sea and pool view, prices are reasonable and so yummy; i would recommend Mango shake. In the evening time, I enjoyed the pool before heading to the Sea food dinner buffet at Cliff restaurant where is located near by the reception desk(same as Breakfast room). I get the special discount 15% for dinner as per pre book terms. Breakfast so varities and it would call an international buffe

Second time here. Very quiet location. If seclusion and relaxation is what you want, this hotel, especially in the Pool Villas offer you privacy, and wonderful views of the bay. The staff are all wonderful and will do anything for you! Hotel villa needs a bit of renovation and love, however the bed and pillows were very comfy, the sun beds were also comfy. I suggest a bathroom modernisation and revamp the rooms decor. Little bit dirty in areas (not the cleaners fault, but someone more superior should be checking the rooms, monthly, for little fixes to be done in between guests. Food was fine, breakfast varied but very much Asian which is great for me, but others may feel a bit put off. Good location away from Patong and not too far to Karon. Taxi service was great. Use them! Good rates and friendly. Perfect 2 weeks of relaxing. Rainy season in June, but we had one storm the night we arrived, and then a huge one the day we left/flew home. So 2 weeks of perfect 38c heat (very humid weather though, everyone including locals were soaking wet with sweat!) and mosquitoes everywhere. Be prepared.

I was extremely happy when I saw the beautiful ocean vista from the hotel's lobby. After a very intense travel through Southeast Asia, it was high time to relax for a few days in a serene place like this. The villas do not look very encouraging from the outside, but are comfortable and very nicely finished inside. The bathroom was clean and modern too.

I had an ocean-facing villa and this was a great choice, can't imagine having a different one now. It was a pleasure to sit outside (or even inside) and admire the calming view.

The beach is quite close, after a few minutes walk through a little forest you end up on a beach. In fact, it's the very outer point of quite a long beach - meaning it is not crowded (blessing!) and that much commercialized with water sports etc. To me it was a huge advantage.

The city and grocery stores and many restaurants are within 30min walk through the beach - not too bad.

The only thing I disliked were the resort's restaurants - that's why I am posting the 2-star rating for the facilities. The food quality was pretty low, I even got food poisoning after my last dinner there, which of course was extremely uncomfortable during the long travel back home. I couldn't have imagined getting food poisoning in an upscale restaurant in a 4 star hotel before, but unfortunately it did happen. The dessert was pretty awful too.

I did like the live music event they hosted, breakfasts were also decent (better than menu-served lunches/dinners).

The villas were absolutely beautiful! There is a great view regardless of where you are. Staff is pretty friendly but sometimes it's hard for them to understand you. If you don't mind walking a lot then you won't mind this place. There are a lot of hills so you might be going up and down a lot of stairs or hills. I didn't mind it since I didn't think it was bad at all. The rooms are very spacious and great. Restrooms are awesome even though the air doesn't go into that room. Overall great experience here!

Excellent location but inconsistent services

Most staff are inexperienced for a 4-star hotel standard and require more hospitality training. Utilities - power and sewerage - are inadequate in villas and require an upgrade. We experienced a blocked toilet (multiple times) and power + internet outage (e.g. 9 hour and 1.5 hour periods). Bar fridge was too small. Shower curtain was not clean. Cockroaches were found inside the villa and one snake behind the bar fridge. All these matters were reported to reception staff but the solutions were either temporary, or inadequate. Senior management did not seem to be informed of these problems.

Tranquil setting for a relaxing holiday

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The resort also sorts out all your tours and travels - we went to the islands in the middle of our stay and the hotel sorted out our transfers to the boat and the boat itself, and our returns back! The hotel is a good distance from karon and patong but far enough away to avoid party goers.
Stay here if you're looking for quiet, but also fairly fit as there are lots of stairs due to the resort being situated on the cliff side.

Love the staff, love the greenery everywhere

Great place to stay. I felt so taken care of by the staff and it felt genuine. Those Thai people embody living the love. I love their focus on 'green' environmentally friendly attitude. Wifi in room sometimes played up, although it was soon fixed. The restaurant immediately provided me with my lemon drink each morning without my even asking. Excellent attention.

Lush gardens traditional pavilions best views & beds. Terrace for drinks & meals with lovely music strumming watching sun go down over Karon Bay. No hustle bustle of local bars as this is set on own cliff to beach. Pools stunning and spa. Highly recommend, staff attentive and nothing a problem.

Good stay

I arrived at around 10 plus in the morning and I was checked in right away. I had received my wifi log in and also a complimentary canape and cocktail pass for the whole of my stay. That was very much wonderful of them and I felt very welcome. The room was very presentable and neat. The location was perfect. Waking up mornings to the view was awesome. The bedding was excellent, very comfortable. I stayed in the pool villa. The pool is a good size for one person. I had also received fruits everyday complimentary from the hotel, which was very kind of them. The breakfast was ok, I wouldn't say it was excellent, it was just fine. I was quite disappointed on the second morning on my visit to have breakfast, I wasn't served any tea or coffee, and was asked twice of my room number, despite telling them the info when I reached the restaurant. Other couples were served coffee and tea and were taken care of well. I had to request for them. I didn't have this problem the following day as my finace was with me, and we were automatically taken care of by staffs. Another issue was the wifi connection on the first day. It was quite bad and I had to keep calling the staffs down to get it repaired, and was only connected well from the second day onwards. Some of the outdoor lights, in the pool and near the pool, were blown out and that was troublesome at night. Other than that this was a very good stay with Centara. I will definitely stay there again.

Comfortable Stay

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had an ocean facing view, which was nice to wake up to everyday. The staff is friendly, but we had SUPERB service in Bangkok, so we were expecting a little more from the staff here. The water from our shower and sink, had a slight brown color to it. Do not drink it! We also got bit by a lot of mosquitos in our room. The hotel offers scooter rentals, which I highly recommend doing since you will get ripped off by taxis. Overall our stay was pleasant, but it could have been better.

Not all that cracked up to be

The pictures you will see online are not a true representation of this place. The rooms are a good price to rent but that is about where it ends. There are only a few villas that really will have a good view of the ocean. It is true that they face the ocean but i would say about 80% of the views are covered by trees. The restaurants which there are two are too pricey. If you decide to get a villa here get breakfast included. It is a very good variety and they add some lunch into the offerings. The plus side about being there was how close it was to karon beach, maybe a 7 minute walk but if you are not back by 7pm they lock the gate (which you can just jump over 3 foot fence). There are a lot of places to eat at really good prices and there are some good bars there too for bar hopping which includes a lot of good live music. The party beach which they run a shuttle 10 mins down the road twice a day at 1030 and 1730 is not a bad place to go. The mall is there and is nice to get out of the heat. There are a lot of places to eat and drink and at night time with bangla about 600 meters from the mall is a good place to get drunk and i mean drunk but go with open mind because of the gogo nature not for children. if i had to choose again i would still pick a place near karon beach because more quiet and it is not that far for a taxi 10$ give or take a dollar. I do not suggest this place for a family and is more for the quiet atmosphere.

Nice quiet romantic place for chilling out

We stayed at the villa room (king bed) with the outdoor jacuzzi. Nice quiet hotel away from the noisy beach parties. Overall stay was good. The only thing that marred the trip was the ground transport round trip we booked from Expedia. Return trip driver was a no-show. Ended up paying out of pocket to arrange for transport to airport from hotel management. Have not heard from Expedia till date.

Great View Overlooking Karon

Stayed four nights in this hotel on our ten day trip of Thailand. It was our last stop and was perfect for rest and relaxation. With a great balcony and view we stayed in room 204 and would recommend requesting this ocean facing villa in the future if possible since it has unobstructed view of Karon and is situated high on the resort. The hotel was great and not too far from the area beaches. Plan on spending 200 thb to get to Karon, 300thb to Patong and Kata and 1,200thb for a private taxi to the airport. If you want a quiet place to relax this is the place. The hotel pool was under renovation while we were there but this allowed us to take advantage of the Centara Grand Beach Resort pool which was much better than the hotel pool. From the looks of it the hotel pool was quite average nothing special.
Would recommend it to anyone looking for a couples retreat and possibly a honeymoon location since Kata and Karon are quieter than the busy Patong.

I liked this place, it was very quiet and private. It was 120 steps from our villa to reception, i did not mind but husband never stopped complaining. I liked the fact you could get to Karon beach by the pathway, however did not like the fact that the road from hotel to Karon about 4km was too busy to walk so had no choice but to get a taxi after 6 pm when they shut the gate to the pathway.
The staff were on the whole nice but I felt rushed at breakfast and afternoon pool bar.

Though the hotel is good but the location makes it more challenging . Due to being in between 2 town, the transportation is not so easy and have to spend money to go anywhere . The hotel charges for bikes is also bit expensive .

The views from the villas were stunning. Staying in the pool villas was so calm and relaxing as going to sleep at night was too the sound of the waves smashing against the rocks. But in all was very peaceful.

thai staff were nice, one of the manages drilled us and made the start of our trip unfriendly our room was not ready .The shower the water is not hot enough and the coffee is not nice.dead rat outside our room and live ones at night.The breakfast and dining area has beautiful views and nice swimming pools,. walk to karon shops and beaches.The beach at Karon has a lot of rubbish and wild dogs hang out

We stayed in villa 208 complete with hot tub on the balcony. On arrival we were met with a welcome drink .The villa a clean wellappointed air conditioned villa with spectacular views and a reliable wireless internet connection. Now views at the resort do come at a cost, steps. We are fit so not too much of an issue and the reception will send a truck to pick you up. You can walk to Karon during the day with a shortcut to the beach. This is an interesting walk and not for those unsteady on their feet. There are daily free transfers to both Patong and Karon Beach - that they went out far too early in the evening and we were rarely back in time to use them. The breakfast provided was of good quality and plentiful. We only ate once in the evening and whist the food was good it was a little pricey when compared to local restaurants. the same goes for the drinks. The hotel did give us a daily treat of a free cocktail and canape which was a welcome surprise. We used the spar on one occasion. the spar is fanatically well laid out and I think it seems to be the newest part of the hotel. The 3 hours we spent their were heaven. Overall we really enjoyed our time here. The staff were very attentive, led well by the General Manager. My only concern is that the hotel does need a little TLC as some repairs that have been made are not of good quality. This is a good quality hotel and I would happily stay there again

Great spot between towns, good leg workout

Check-in took awhile since we arrived at midday, but once taken to our room was happy with the location and quality.
Unless you want to wait for a courtesy vehicle to pick you up and drop you off to your room, would not recommend this place to anyone with poor fitness or ailments (Hotel is on the side of the mountain, and everywhere is quite a steep gradient). Staff were on the whole quite pleasant, especially the day manager who despite the number of guests knew us by name and greeted us personally every time we met.
Restaurant and bar was great quality, but expect it to be more expensive then going down into town.
The hotel has shuttles running into Karon and Patong twice a day for free which is nice, and Karon is only a short walk along the beach and a Tuk-Tuk 100baht one way.
Great views of Karon and the sea beyond, which I believe you would get from pretty much every room.
Although we didn't get one, rooms with a spa on the balcony looked spectacular.
