This is located in the CENTER of Shinjuku. The RED LIGHT DISTRICT. I was unaware of this. The entrance is tricky. The rooms were clean. The staff though useful had a lot of trouble talking to me in english. There is some noise you can hear from your hotel at all times. Not an issue for me but can be for some people. Felt like the room was a little small for what I paid for. A lot to do nearby and near the subways

The hotel was really clean and only the staff member checking us in seemed a bit annoyed with us because the computers are turned towards customers to make it seem like you are supposed to check yourself in but we are not allowed too. The staff member just seemed annoyed and bothered to have to tell us and check us in but I think it is just a common accurance and she might have been more annoyed with the process. The only thing that actually bothered me about the place was that we were not able to go see the Godzilla statue because of work or maintanance but we booked the hotel for this reason. We were not warned it would be closed. However everything else is very convenient and great about the hotel and staff. The location is so fun and they had a lot of cute areas and services available like a fun cafe and sitting area. I will definantly stay here again.

The hotel property itself was nice. Small rooms, as expected, but enough space to make things work. In our experience, the bed was very firm and the pillow were very low quality, with only one side being soft, which was really terrible.

The Room was very clean but small. Not much in the way of drawers or closet space, but the bathtub and shower were excellent. We had a fridge, but no microwave. Many different options for restaurants nearby and the Shinjuku Station was a 5 to 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Overall a nice hotel.

The room was very nice with a modern bathroom fitout. The staff were friendly and helped us out with checking in.

Being the heart of the nightlife area the perimeter outside was very lively and full of shopping, food and bars that were all tourist friendly.

Unfortunately the Godzilla head balcony was closed for the days we stayed but it was cool nonetheless.

Finding the entrance to the place was a little confusing for us coming from the train station as there are a few attractions and people lining up around the building, but coming from the train station, the entrance is found on the far side of the building where the taxi rank is for the building.

Hotel is very clean and the staff is very attentive. Just keep in mind this hotel is in a very busy area, with some very interesting nightlife, so definitely not appropriate for families! Hotel rooms are a bit outdated and in Japanese style, very small, but that’s expected. The bathroom was probably just as big as the room. Close to a main train station so that’s a plus.

Excellent hotel. Great place to stay. Rooms are quite compact but lovely and clean. Great shower and bath too. We had the lounge pass included which wasn’t explained by Expedia when we booked. This gives you unlimited hot/cold and a range of alcoholic drinks. Also snacks which went from nuts to danish pastries. This was a real boon as we had coffee and pastries each morning from 9.30 then good to go for the day. Also good for a drink early evening.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

I ran the 2026 Tokyo Marathon and this hotel was a 5-10 minute walk to the start line. The hotel is located near the train line and plenty of good restaurants. I suggest paying extra for the breakfast which offered a buffet and cooked to order American style egg dishes

Stayed at this hotel with my partner and our 8 y/o daughter. Choosen based on proximity to the start of the Tokyo Marathon which I was a participant.

Hotel and staff were fantastic, we booked two rooms and I emailed shortly before arrival asking if they could be close to each other and they gave us rooms next to each other. All the staff had a smile on their faces and were always happy to help.

Rooms are not huge (but it's Tokyo!) but more than adequate and had a good sized wet room / bathroom.

Walking distance to main Shinjuku station and a great base for sightseeing.

And what's not to like about a hotel with a massive Godzilla Head!!!!

This hotel… while convenient located in the heart of Shinjuku, it is also in the heart of “services” that one might not be want to be part of (iykyk) - the hotel itself is just ok, nothing to brag about, and the Godzilla head is just an addition to it, we were not allowed to go outside to the terrace to take pictures, not sure if it’s just not open or bc of the weather. The room are super small, and while they are definitely clean, it is a challenge to get the bags open and get your items in and out of them. Toiletries were available and this came handy when our bags did not arrive on time bc of the airline. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Overall the hotel is just ok, if you are traveling with children, Shinjuku is know for the “Golden Gai” bars and they are not shy about them, be aware, they are not at all in your face but you do see things every where. The hotel is a short walk to most stations and McDonald’s, Starbucks and Krispy Kreme were a short distance as well! Safe travels!

The room was slightly bigger than the other Japan hotels we stayed at. Def still tight though if you have a lot of luggage.
The amenities were good and we liked the bathroom. The spot is very convenient. The view from our room was nice.
We know it’s next to the red light district, but if you are from America it def doesn’t feel like that and the people standing outside have big jackets on. It’s very easy to ignore them. Plus the area has so many restaurants and people around that it kind of jus feels like they are just there.

Rude staff, hotel did not feel clean, Godzilla head terrace was closed. The rooms felt neglected and hot. Pictures online did not match the reality of the room you would be getting. The rooms felt very outdated with terrible beds and pillows. In terms of value this was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at in over 20 years of traveling.

Staff is so patient and knowledgeable about what foreign guests should experience during their stay. I slept in one day and there were fresh towels and water left at my door without me asking. The bathroom is really the star of the show. Although Japanese hotel rooms are traditionally small, the bathroom is huge and modern. It provides a luxury feel. Great membership/rewards program. Flexible accommodation to hold luggage after checking out. Looking forward to visiting again!

Our family of five were very disappointed with this stay. Our two rooms were incredibly small — far smaller than expected — and the layout made poor use of the limited space. Nearly a third of the room was taken up by an oversized bathroom that oddly included both a shower and a bathtub, leaving no functional living area. The bed was shorter and noticeably narrower than a standard queen, extremely firm and uncomfortable, which made sleeping difficult. The windows were tiny and let in very little natural light, making the room feel even more cramped.

The hotel itself is very no-frills, with none of the usual amenities — no restaurant, no gym, and very little in terms of services or atmosphere. Overall, the space felt poorly designed and not good value for the price. I would not choose to stay here again.

The only thing I would offer as a warning to visitors is to keep in mind that the cheaper single rooms are designed for one person, definitely not two visitors from north america. This is not a fault of the hotel or its staff, just a statement of fact.

Nice hotel, clean, and very well located. Bed was a little too firm, pillows weren’t great, but overall the room was larger than other ones we’ve had in downtown Tokyo. There should be a gym at a hotel of this size, and the observation deck with the Godzilla head was closed while we were there, which wasn’t great. Nice to have a little mini onsen in the bathroom.

Stayed at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku and overall had a very good experience. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, though definitely on the small side — something to keep in mind if you’re traveling with large luggage. The bathroom was excellent, modern, and surprisingly spacious compared to the room itself. The location is a major highlight, right in the heart of Shinjuku with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and transportation. A great choice if you want convenience and comfort, as long as you’re okay with compact rooms.
