The location is good, near to a lot of late-night eating spots. The room and toilet is quite big for Japan standards, it's closer to a Western hotel room size. I like the fact that the room temperature is individually controlled so I can choose to turn on the air-con despite it being cold outside. There is also a water dispensing machine on every level and a massage chair in the \"social room\" on the 13th floor. The staff I talked to all speak English very well. Particularly, a friendly female staff was nice enough to allow me late checkout till 1pm for no extra charge, a simple gesture that makes me want to stay there again.

Front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. if it rains, you can ask the front desk for an umbrella to borrow! I loved that they provided this! They also provide a few amenities like toothpaste, shower cap, etc, in case you forgot these. House keeping was amazing at cleaning rooms, really appreciate that they try to be environmentally conscious, and only do a deep full cleaning every 3 days! I loved how each floor has a common space for people to hang out in, each floor has a water filler and ice machine. One floor has washer and dryer (need 100 yen coins, if you don't have this change, front desk will happily provide change!). Big plus, they have a decently sized elevator!! While we were here, there was a earthquake in northern Japan, but staff was quick to notify everyone that there should be no concern. Very comforting!

I loved the room as well! I was able to get a two bed room, that was very spacious! As opposed to a one bed room. The bathroom was super nice and spacious too!

Location: I thought I saw that we could see Godzilla, but I couldn't from my room. Otherwise, location was great! Quick 10min walk to multiple Shinjuku train stops! Perfectly convenient to be right above a Lawson, and steps away from a 7/11. I will caution, that this hotel is lovely, but it's backyard is Golden Gai, which is a late night bar strip, so it may not be the best for family with young children, as you'll see many bars and clubs right outside and drunk people. A very lively area!

- Friendly staff, good breakfast buffet.
- Big room. Kettle, microwave and safe in room.
- Separate bathtub and shower.
- Lawson's and 7-11 convenience stores right beside hotel.
- Coffee machine in lobby.

Minus:
- Area around hotel is very busy with lots of unsavoury men trying to entice you to adult venues, but these are easily ignored.

This hotel was so expensive. My small room was over £200 per night and that did not include breakfast. The bed was against the wall so one of us had to climb out. For over £200 I expected far more.

Very very close to Golden Gai, 100 meters. Safe clean property. Our room was pretty small, but they may have larger I am not sure. Other than room size, there were no complaints. It is not fancy or luxury, but it is a well ran, great location place for a reasonable price. They had a nice laundry area, and clean restrooms in the lobby for when your small room is just a little too small. Recommended for those to which this appeals.

I was very disappointed booking this hotel, for the price i 've paid i was expected at lease 3 and half to 4 star by looking at the picture, even when we have arrived to the hotel waiting at the lobby, it was still looks presentable to be honest.... But soon as you walk out the elevator of your floor, the carpet was disgusting , very dirty you can't imagine, and soon as we entered the room, so smelly by very strong of cooking food with heavy spicy , i quickly asked to be switched ,after switching to 10 floor , then was normal, the mentioned room was on the 3 floor far end. I never seen a bed without head board ,we booked two beds all without head board, i guess every floor room 's bed are the same the one we saw one the 3 floor as well, also right away you noticing the bed only has bed sheet but the bottom has no skirt at all , you can imagine how many stars this hotel is? I wonder does the manager or the owner of this hotels know about the condition inside of the rooms at all? The services was amazing , everyone was attentive ,and the lobby looks fantastic , I'm sure with all good condition, people will come back, and they will no bad reviews, everyone was attracted by the look of lobby.

Our stay at Hotel Citadines in Shinjuku was overall enjoyable. While the room was slightly compact, the breakfast more than made up for it—it was exceptional, offering a wide variety of food, beverages, and desserts that felt more like a full lunch buffet. The hotel’s location in the heart of Shinjuku is ideal, with numerous restaurants and attractions just steps away. It’s a perfect choice for those who enjoy vibrant nightlife, though it may not suit guests who prefer a quieter environment, as the area can get lively with crowds and nightlife revelers. Nonetheless, we found our stay worthwhile thanks to its prime location and excellent service. We confidently rate it 4 stars.

The hotel is well-located ( just to couple of blocks to metro station, in fact very short walk to shinjuku station). Also down stairs there is a convenient store as well as good restaurants . The rooms are tiny but functional and clean. We had a room on the 7th floor with street view.Staff are incredibly very helpful and kind. In general this hotel has more in favour than against it.

It is 10 mins walk from Shinjuku stn east exit. The rooms are slightly larger than some other similar priced japan hotels. There is space to open cases and store clothes. Good breakfast buffet.

A conveniently located hotel in the heart of Shinjuku providing all the basics of a Tokyo business hotel. The front desk is EXTREMELY helpful in terms of providing directions and suggestions for one's stay. The room was tight, but hey, this is Tokyo and that's to be expected. There are two restaurants in the complex, a convenience store, and an easy walk to Shinjuku station and other subway stations. Goldengai is close. The surrounding area features many seedy looking establishments but safety was not a concern and the street scene added a bit of \"colour\" to our brief Tokyo visit. Recommended.

Great location, very close to a lot of restaurants and to Shinjuku station. So much shopping around. We booked 3 rooms for our group after coming from Citadines Yokohama. The property is a bit older compared to the Yokohama one, maybe a renovation is due soon, but overall very happy staying with any Citadines property!

Small room is expected. Condition of room is outdated especially the bathroom. Sink plug doesn’t stay open, I have to stick a tooth brush handle to hold it up so the water can drain. Breakfast selection is limited. Not worth paying for breakfast.

Reminded us of a sweet well kept boutique hotel. Breakfast buffet was delicious and staff were friendly courteous. Room and hotel is clean. Room was enough since we only brought carry on baggage. Easy access to trains subways and local shopping. Easy walking to many areas. Family mart located next to hotel so that was a plus in grabbing a quick snack. A little loud at times in early morning hours from people celebrating in the famous bar area located behind hotels alleyway. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel.

I like that it is not an expensive hotel considering how spacious the room that we had plus it is very close to all the activities and actions around Shinjuku, Tokyo. I just didn’t like the stangers/bystanders in front of the hotel looking friendly but with hidden interest. They are scary, but harmless though. Just smile back at them.

This hotel is right in the middle of the actions - so location is everything here. The hotel itself is a bit dated and the rooms are small (this is downtown Tokyo after all). And it is expensive - at least during my stay. Staff are all excellent! While the general area is quite safe, there were just so many of those \"hustler\" guys on the street trying to get you into a bar or something. Just something to be mindful of if that's not your thing when staying here.

This hotel felt very central - it was easy to get anywhere! The hotel was clean and the staff waa great. I see a lot of reviews saying they didnt feel \"safe\" and there were weird men hanging around... well not in the hotel - but the hotel is on the edge of the red light district - so the men are just doing their business asking other men to enter for their girls. I felt safe and was never approached aggressively.

This property was fantastic for us, right in the heart of Shinjuku and directly overlooking Golden Gai. We were able to easily find great places to eat, drinks, and fun things to do just by stepping outside of the hotel. Super easy to navigate around and just a few minutes within walking distance to different malls, high end shopping, and most importantly; Godzilla overlooking the city. The staff here was fantastic, they helped us out with any questions we had, and went above and beyond helping us out with our missing luggage delivery; thank you again! The hotel was spacious, very clean, and offered anything you'd need to make your stay enjoyable. We look forward to staying here again soon.

The rooms had a bad smell. They smelled like people smoked cigarettes there for many years. The design is outdated furniture old.Small bed not comfortable for 2 adults attached to the wall. The street the hotel is on has x rated bars. We had to shorten our trip because of flight cancellation slept there 5 nights and refused to refund the sixth - becase thats their policy for booking via hotels.com.

Great spacious rooms. Fairly quiet but even 14 floors up we could still hear the street below on a Saturday night in the early hours.
Rooms are aging gracefully but need more power points in the bedroom /lounge and some updating of bathroom and WiFi routers.

Staff were helpful and friendly. A QR code checkin left us wondering if our data was safe or being sold on Instantly to pop advertisers.

A comfortable stay but not the best area of Tokyo anymore. Edgy and rougher than we would have liked. The 24 hour party feeling has take. Hold. If that’s your thing then knock yourself out. We found right outside some dodgy characters offering everything from free drinks of we went to the club they pointed to ( a scam) though to harder and softer drugs on offer. No thanks and a shame to see the area go down with massively increased tourism.

This hotel has an amazing location in the centre of Shinjuku and close to the underground station. The bathroom was lovely and modern and although the rooms are small, that was all we needed as we were out everyday. The staff at check in were very helpful and quick. I’d definitely stay here again.
