Swimming pools were good, and the addition of free Pilates and other exercise classes were a welcome surprise.
Good location for visiting other attractions.
We also liked the owner’s philosophy of protecting the environment and supporting local producers

In a lovely setting! All the cottages are separate, some high and low, with 2 different pools. Cottages are rustic - so be prepared for that as my shower was outside. The room was clean and they provide a central water cooler. The breakfast was great, however i would recommend going somewhere else for dinner like Ladera or Rabot The staff were nice, but it always seemed like you were bothering them was asking them questions. Easy to get around if you have a car, but otherwise it's a little tricky. Close to the superman waterfalls and the sulphur springs, but still need a car to travel to them. Chocolate tour was underwhelming and as the staff seem so demotivated, the tour was very flat. However, they did make an effort on my birthday to decorate my bed, which was a lovely touch.

Fabulous environment. Set right in the jungle so very different to other hotels. The cottages are all slightly different, ours Bamboo, had a lovely bed and outside shower. Aircon was one of the best. On/ off, up/down. All the staff were nice, can’t name all the good ones because they didn’t all have name badges but Shernic in the restaurant and Peter in the bar. I was there 6 weeks ago and lovely ladies on reception remember me. On the negatives, you do need a car or taxi. I used Alex app which was great for taxis. Cheaper than other options. If the weather is bad not much to do at the resort. Hotel was good value for money

I was 'upgraded' to one of the cottages which was pleasant although quite a walk from the main reception. The cottage was lovely with a large bathroom, lovely warm shower and a choice of air conditioning or fan - I prefer a fan to air-con, so that was nice. I would probably have enjoyed it all more, had I been staying there more than one night.

The flora around the property is absolutely stunning. There are beautiful flowers and plants everywhere. There are well lit and concrete paths throughout the property as well as a hike up to the Gros Piton view. We were very impressed with the landscaping and ground maintenance. The cottage was okay. The patio furniture could be improved as well as the overall maintenance of the cottage. Our housekeeper Enalai was so kind and kept the cottage spotless! She made us fun towel and blanket animals everyday. The chocolate tour is worth the money and Clinton is very entertaining. Eroline and her husband are welcoming. The food could be improved, especially lunch and dinner options. We used the smaller three pools most of the time and we almost always had them to ourselves. We used Bryon as our taxi driver and he was the best tour guide!

Fabulous stay at Fond Doux. It’s the perfect rainforest-Island experience. The staff are excellent, friendly and very welcoming. We had a rental car to get around, visited lots of sites nearby, and loved coming back to Fond Doux. We will definitely return.

The property is beautiful, I loved the pools, and the nature trail had an incredible view. It was very peaceful and calm, with lots of options for tours and activities. The included breakfast was also very good.

The cabin was nice but a little outdated, and we were told there were no room upgrades available. The front desk staff wasn’t very friendly, but everyone else was great. The location is close to many activities. However, the roads aren’t walkable and the hotel taxis were ridiculously expensive... you’re better off finding a local taxi driver.

The cabins are very nice. A bit rustic but clean, quiet and comfortable. The rain forest surroundings are beautiful. There is lush vegetation and pretty flowers.
There are a few pools on the property. We didn't go in them very much because the water was quite cold. I wish they had a hot tub on site.
The dining was fine. Breakfast is buffet style and is included in the price of the room. Lunch and dinner are available too as well as drinks from the bar. The prices for meals were reasonable and the food is good. Drinks are a bit expensive.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We thought the tours were expensive for what you got. Unfortunately, in St. Lucia it seems like there's a fee every place you visit and a requirement that you have a guide accompany you.
Overall, this is a nice resort if you're looking for peace and quiet in a natural setting.

Overall our stay at this resort was lackluster - for a few reasons.
We stayed two nights for $500/night and I've stayed at a lot of 3-star hotels; did not measure up whatsoever.

1. The buildings felt very outdated; the decor was fine but the fixtures/doors/walls/tiles were old and somewhat dirty.
2. We had no hot water in our room, it was lukewarm. I asked maintenance to take a look at it and they said that this was most likely the warmest it would get. They said they would check back in the AM (they didn't), and later when I mentioned it again we were moved to another room which also had no hot water. I know the staff tried to help so I don't blame them but no hot water at 500/night felt absurd.
3. The accent pillows were yellowed and yucky. Our regular pillows, bedding in the 2nd room smelled old and musty, like that smell when you leave wet clothes in the washer for too long. At that point I didn't want to be \"those annoying people\" so we said nothing about the no hot water/bedding.

Other things:
- Service at the restaurant was very slow. Food was excellent, my bf loved his seafood pasta.
- Property was nice; you truly were in the middle of the jungle. Lots and lots of steps so not great for those with limited mobility.
- Location was awesome: very close to Ladera (went there for dinner), the drive-in/walk-up volcano, Tet Paul nature hike and the chocolate experience.
- Wifi was surprisingly strong, although unsecured network so our laptops struggled to connect

Depends on what you’re looking for. For the money, this was a good deal. Friendly staff, privately owned with access to friendly owners. This is not a luxury resort. Some might describe as charming though I prefer to describe it as rough around the edges. “Eco” resort covers a multitude of sins though none too big. Most bigger problems were quickly and effectively addressed by management. Bring ear plugs unless you don’t mind being awaken by crowing roosters anywhere from 2:30 AM on. Again, charming to some. Nice restaurant. Daily service to the rooms. Be sure to ask where on the property your cottage is. We were in Tree House and should have guessed it was at the top of the hill with many steps. Good thing were fit ☺️.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Rooms are clean.

We stayed in the Coconut cottage which was very private with a small pool which was great for cooling off when we didn’t want to walk down all the stairs to go to one of the pools onsite. At night, insects and birds are very loud and go from dusk to dawn! Bring earplugs for a better nights sleep.

If you have limited mobility get a cottage that isn’t hillside (it’s a steep climb to the hillside cottages).

Loved how this place felt like a private getaway and was not touristy. There’s no pressure to do “add ons” at the resort. Laid back atmosphere. All the pools were great and oftentimes we had the pool to ourselves.

If you love nature and enjoy a laid back atmosphere, this is the place for you!

For a 3 star resort, this exceeded expectations with amenities, rooms, and the grounds.

Food menu was repetitive for dinner. Breakfast had more variety.

Lovely resort that feels like it is in the middle of the jungle. Great hike to see the Piton starts right behind the dining are. I love it that the owners preserve local historical buildings on top of a commitment to preserving the environment. All cottages are therefore different and a little piece of history. Staff is very helpful. Would recommend hiring a car for explorations beyond the resort and sugar beach.

This place is a scam, as is most of the island of St Lucia. It's really heartbreaking to write that because it is such a gorgeous place and is clearly being railroaded by white American capitalism, but the entire time we were there we were being absolutely HUSTLED for cash and it was not restful at all.

The staff at Fond Doux could not have cared less that we existed. The shuttle driver made a pit stop on the way from the airport (not a free shuttle like they imply in their advertising, it costs $80 one way) and left my friend and I alone in a running car with no explanation. The grounds are poorly kept, run down and dangerous. The staff disappears after 10pm and there is no one around at all in case of an emergency. I asked if there was a map of the grounds available and was told to \"just walk, it's a circle\". It is not easy to access ANYTHING from this resort, you have to pay a shuttle driver to take you off the grounds or wait for their extremely limited tour/beach schedules.

I don't know who they're paying to write these rave reviews but that didn't come close to our experience. It was so unpleasant we went to a different hotel (better experience, still got scammed left and right) after one night. Spend your money literally anywhere else.

The room was in good condition, just very outdated. The front desk staff were funny acting sometimes, had attitudes when you asked them certain questions, and had no suggestions or tips for anything. However, the housekeeping lady was very nice and a dear heart.
The pool was not properly cared for in my opinion. The deep tissue massage I received was not that great, and could have been better.

The shower did not work, only the tap below it and the water did not drain. Beautiful view, but shabby chic - definitely needed work. High price for the room with terrible breakfast including the service. Basically everything was empty over half an hour. Could be much better - using Eco as an excuse for poor standards. Much better hotels elsewhere on the island with top notch facilities and service.

We had a lovely time at the resort, the property is absolutely beautiful, very green and serene with beautiful flowers and all kinds different plants and fruit trees, with the name of the fruits. 4 pools were all different and very relaxing. The staff was amazing and everyone made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to accommodate us at the restaurant.

We did encounter some issues with our 2 bedroom villa, Avocado house. We were told that the WiFi was down before booking, however, there were more issues with this villa. We had no way to call reception because phone was down, our microwave didn’t work, so we were unable to heat food. And worse of all, we had lots of bees in the master bathroom, over 12 bees, which startled us and caused a delay in getting ready. Not sure how they entered the villa, I must assume that there is a hole somewhere in the villa. I took a video and pics and showed it to reception but was simply told sorry, with no attempt to contact the manager or offer a reduction in our final bill, considering all the issues we had with the villa. That was disappointing.

Fond Deux is a gem. I definitely recommend taking the chocolate making tour, and maybe buying a few more bars from the gift shop! We stayed in a hillside cottage; bring good shoes because there was a lot of walking and steps to get to our cottage. The regular cottages are on level ground, so the walking is easier to get to those. Definitely find the Piton scenic trail behind the restaurant; it took less than an hour, and had the most magnificent view. Well worth the hike; the first half is dirt-stairs, most of the last part is boulders.
The restaurant was amazing for dinner- everything we had was perfect. The frogs are quite loud at night, so if you're a light sleeper, maybe bring ear plugs. We rented a car and drove to the Tet Paul trail, sulphur springs, and Soufriere. You cannot walk to anything outside of the resort.
The resort itself is covered in fruit trees; it was the most beautiful stay, and we loved finding out about fruits not native to us.

We had a nice stay here, staff very friendly and helpful on arrival, we were given a welcome cocktail before being shown to our room which was beautiful, had air con and a 4 poster bed. There was a fourth pool which was nice, but there was only 1 restaurant (neither of the 2 listed on here) and many of the items on the menu weren't available. It was odd, you chose the dish and the chef on that day served whatever he felt like in the vicinity of your choice... breakfast the first day was a variety buffet and thereafter was a very limited set menu which again they served what they wanted. The bar was a little limited, again lots of things were unavailable and each server made the drinks differently so you could never get the same thing twice. The bar closed early every night which was a shame as there was nothing else to do after dark. We didn't have any hot water but given the climate we were ok with this. Unfortunately, there were works going on while we were there so we were subjected to chainsaws and workmen shouting while we were trying to relax. At night, we had a bird in our roof that made a loud chirping at all hours. We found fond doux very expensive, and all costs were subject to 17% (service and tax) so costs stacked. The free beach shuttle was good but still quite a walk, and the taxi was expensive and late both ways. They priced everything in US$ but then charged us in EC$ so we were charged extra for this currency. It was a bit of a mixed bag but overall good!

Staying here was a dream. We stayed in a cottage, up in the hills, set all the way back in the rainforest. It was quiet, romantic, and tranquil. The staff were friendly, kind, and helpful throughout the entire trip. Our cab and shuttle drivers were amazing and informed us of the history of St. Lucia as we drove. The resort offers a free shuttle to Sugar Beach, which has a section of chairs you can pay for or a section for free (first come basis). The dining options at Fond Doux were delicious, fresh, and used local ingredients. We really enjoyed the cuisine. The pools on the property were great. One of them has an outdoor area with a wall of books. Another, newer pool, has tables and a beautiful view of the rainforest. Overall, we were so happy with our experience and would absolutely come back to stay in the future.

Amazing resort set in the side of. Mountain. Beautifully maintained grounds and rooms/cottages. Hiking trails, pools, a chocolate factory all on-site. We had a hotel room. It had a front patio, refrigerator, large shower w hot water--all super clean. The restaurant was good, but pricey. Staff was very helpful and we wanted for nothing. We would definitely stay here again.

Fond Doux Resort is an absolute gem and we enjoyed it so much more than anticipated! From the moment I arrived, I felt surrounded by the most beautiful, untouched nature. The sounds of birds, tree frogs, and rustling leaves were constant companions, making it feel like I was truly immersed in the rainforest. Everywhere I turned, there were towering trees, colorful flowers, and fruit hanging from branches—it felt so alive and vibrant.

We stayed in the cottage furthest away, which meant walking through the forest and up a series of stairs to get there. At first, we thought it might get tiring, but honestly, it was magical every single time. I found myself wishing I could do that walk every day—again and again—because it made me feel so connected to the nature around me. Our cottage was so private, and so many birds came to visit, almost like they were just as curious about us as we were about them!

We also loved spending time at the pool, soaking in the beautiful views and just enjoying the peacefulness of the resort. I was truly so sad to leave. In fact, before checking out, I even walked back up to our cottage one last time, just to see it again and take in the moment.

If you love nature, the sounds of the rainforest and want an authentic St. Lucian experience, Fond Doux is the place to be!! I absolutely loved my stay and I shall cherish my time there. Thank you!!

The property is gorgeous and beaming with trees producing fruits and spices, beautiful flowers, and their heritage cocoa. The chocolate made exclusively onsite is so incredibly delicious and the smell wafts through the air. Every staff member is friendly and attentive to your needs to ensure a pleasant stay. The restaurant serves food grown on the property and every meal was delicious. The history of the plantation and of St. Lucia is preserved and acknowledged at Fond Doux. The quaint cottages are built from French Colonial homes around the island that were dismantled and repurposed. At Fond Doux they are committed to being eco- friendly to protect the beautiful rainforest they have been given responsibility to care for over the past two generations.

Such a beautiful setting with excellent hospitality. We loved our very private cabin (Calabash) nestled amongst the rainforests. The resort respected its history and delicate ecological spaces. Every staffer went above and beyond. We felt cared for and appreciated as guests, this by far was a bright and shing star in all our travels. Meals were delicious, properly prepared albeit a limited menu. Loved the nightly chef's specials. Housekeepers were very attentive and responsive to our needs with clean crisp sheets and shiny floors. My wife and I were so relaxed. This is not a cookie cutter, everything brand new, corporate-owned resort. The owners (Mr. and Mrs. LaMontagne) were lovely people. I had a fantastic stay as a solo traveler. The service from every single staff member was excellent, and my room was spotless. I was very satisfied with everything. The food was delicious, and I really appreciated the available transportation to Sugar Beach.Thee hiking trail on the property was a wonderful bonus—I highly recommend it! Loved our private cottage, including the outdoor shower. Staff were wonderful. Proximity to waterfalls and sulfur springs/ mud baths was great. The hike up to our cottage was steep. Food quality was generally good (fried fish and lobster/shrimp dishes were a miss). Singer one night was excellent. The pools need to be maintained (we weren’t comfortable using them), and the old faded books at the pool should be discarded and a new rack with doors installed. Despite these items, we still really enjoyed staying there. Some investment would bring the rating up to “excellent”.

Really lovely little place in a beautiful lush setting. Comfy & quiet rooms with aircon and a wonderful buffet breakfast with a good variety of hot & cold food, fresh fruit and cakes. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant, good price (cheaper than in town) and delicious food. The staff was really friendly. We used the free shuttle to beautiful Sugary beach and walked to Tet Paul - a lovely walk with a beautiful view. Having a car would be a plus to get to the mud bath, volcano, waterfalls, Soufrier and beach. They are all about a 15-20 min drive away. We used taxis but they are a bit expensive on the island.

Special thanks to Ferisha and Clinton who were especially helpful but you can’t go wrong staying at this place. The accommodations were fabulous and the staff was very nice and helpful. We met the owner and his wife as they were eating breakfast and they we soooo accommodating. With our initial booking we could not get the deluxe house we reserved but we still got the two bedroom cottage. Very spacious and nice. Be prepared to walk, but the walk is very beautiful and the entire grounds are serene. I would definitely recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back!

Fond Doux felt like a safe haven on an otherwise rough island. Our cottage was cute and clean, the grounds were very pretty and we enjoyed exploring the property. The chocolate making tour is not to be missed. Much of the staff, however is not particularly friendly or efficient. Service at the restaurants eas very slow and unreliable (none seemed to open at the times they said they would) and even though you may be the only ones dining or drinking at the moment, don't expect speedy service. The food is just ok. We learned really quickly that this level of service (casual indifference) is standard all over the island, but that being said, we hoped it would be a bit better at this resort. Would still recommend a stay at Fond Doux, but lower your expectations for the service.

This place is a hidden gem. The pictures they have posted doesn't give this place the accolades it deserves. The staff amazing beyond measures. They are extremely knowledgeable about the history, their guests and the island. They make your stay feel like home and very accomodating. Mrs. Jenny, Ms. Giana. Ms. Adel will makes sure your cottage accommodation are met and adjusted friendly and welcoming. Ms. Dora, Ms. Shamara, n Ms. Grace will make sure your food is topnotch and up to par. My bartender Gienwene make the drinks with a smooth and powerful punch. The cook Mr. Chris chief's kiss amazing. Hi. Mr. Thomas. Clinton was our historian tour guide knowledgeable and humorous. We enjoyed the petite piton trail view was beautiful. I enjoyed the cats coco n whisky. Rio the dog is a lady's bodyguard. He always likes to make sure all women are safe. Like O said before this place was magical and amazing. Pluse budget friendly. No complaints for this place. Cant wait to come back.

Hello My Name is Airaka Dumas. Recently did a Solo trip here in Saint Lucia for my birthday and was able to stay at the wonderful Fond Doux Eco Resort! The staff was incredible! We are like family now! Took very good care of me. They made getting transportation easy around the island! The hotel restaurant is great and affordable as well. So if don’t desire to eat anywhere else, it’s okay they have everything you need. Also they have a list of things to do at the resort or excursions away from the resort. They can help you set up, anything you need, so don’t worry about what you will do. I give Fond Doux Eco Resort 10 out of 10! I’m going to miss you all, but I will be back very soon. -Airaka

Loved Fond Deaux. Nestled into nature with a nice hike up to see Sugar beach and the Petit Piton. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Great massage by Suella. From the front desk staff, dining room and gift shop/chocolate experience, even the all natural “nature music” at night, all great! I personally LOVED the outside shower 😄 would hands down stay there again.

Last minute decision!

Our flight out of Saint Lucia was cancelled by American Airlines last minute. I found Fond Doux and was so happy that we did. Everyone was welcoming and very friendly. We ended up staying two nights while waiting for a flight back home to Miami. We toiled in after the restaurant was closed and the chef was nice enough to make us egg sandwiches and a fruit plate delivered to our cottage. The property is in a beautiful location, very lush and jungle feel. The place itself could use some TLC and a good renovation. We used the free shuttle to Sugar Beach the next day and had a good time there.
