Old world charm

The hotel is located on a main strip so it is very convenient but it is very loud at night. People were partying at 2:00 in the morning outside our window. The check in office is located at a different location than the hotel making it very difficult to find. The hills are very steep and we were dragging our luggage around looking for the check in office. Some of the locals we asked did not know where it was and Google maps walking locator is wrong. The room has an old world charm. It has a kitchen if you want to cook. However, the light in the toilet area did not work and the laundry machine did not work. We only stayed one night so it wasn't a big deal.

This property is in a fabulous location, however the room was not easy to access and the room and building were not in good repair. The bathroom had a barely functional 1/2 sized bathtub that was difficult to use.

Amazing

One of the prettiest rooms I stayed in... we asked for a twin room and received one with a double bed and bunk beds. Kitchen attached... located 5 min from station and near shops and restaurants.. highly recommend.

The two individual mattresses making up the double bed were shocking, one was really firm and the other soft. What a fright to roll over in the middle of the night.
The fridge was really good at keeping your drinks warm, trying to adjust the temperature just dimmed the lights but so does all the random wires sticking out of the wall. The light and the fan don't work independently
There must be better accommodation than this

Quaint ,so close to the ocean

I loved this little room ,it was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need. It was amongst all the houses at the bottom of the street. You could hear the ocean. It felt authentic. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again! Thank you for such a pleasant stay!

When we first arrived we thought we will stay near the Main Street but instead we went sent to a walk up the hill for 10min, we were very tired and found it disappointed at first but then we realised we could see all Riomaggiore, the view was beautiful so for that reason I will recommend the place. We paid cheap compare to other places so we knew what we were getting, is very basic with a share bathroom. We stayed one night only and that worked for us.

Worst customer service i have ever seen.\n

So we booked this joint as it said was in the middle of town we get there and get our key we have to follow this bloke all the way out of town uo 4-5 stair cases and hills with all our luggage no help from them offered. Our room was ready but the people staying next to us wasnt ready until nearly 6pm and had to wait out side the room. Shower was very small and leaked every where as it wouldnt drain neither would the sink so left a nice smell in there. The only positive was the actual view which was nice but all the outdoor furniture was pretty much broken. And the wifi didnt work either. Would not stay here again and wouldnt recommend it either. Spend that little bit more and get a nice place.

Having been to the Cinque Terre before I wasn't expecting a 5 star resort. This accommodation was not as advertised, there was no air conditioning, no internet and no TV, so definately no cable entertainment. There is no shop, you need to go down the hill approximately 9 flights of stairs. Mosquitos were throughout the room and garden, the ceiling was so low my 6ft husband couldn't stand in the room, there was a dreadful musty smell and although the write up is claiming to be central, it teally is not, it is up the top of the hill quite away from the Main Street. We were so dissatisfied we walked back down the hill to ask for our money back and found a very comfortable room in the Main Street that was $65 less per night, had air conditioning and was very clean. Recommendation to give this one a miss. If you are desperate, then wait until you get there, we were there middle of tourist season and along the Main Street there were so many advertising vacancies.

Very nice room, fully furnished

It was a 3 day stay at Riomaggiore, at first the room is on top of the city the stairs to reach it are tiring, but once u get used to the hike upwards the view and the locations are mesmerizing.
The room is well equipted with everything you need during your stay. It is more an furnished appartment than an hotel room.
No room service is actually available and the only contact with staff is upon arrival.
All in all our stay was a pleasant one and we enjoyed cinque terre region as a whole

More a backpackers hostel than a hotel.

Address listed as main road hotel -that was the office so was miss leading. Hostel was approx 800m distance and 150m height away over looking noisy railway station in next valley. View would have been great if they had pruned the shrubs and trees. Shower temperature couldn't be controlled, no air-con and fan supplied very noisy

Don't stay here

They don't tell you in the description that the room has bedbugs and you are sharing the bathroom with some weird old guy with no shirt who sleeps in the room next to yours with paper thin walls. This is not a hotel its a dirty bedroom in some guy's house

Amazing Views in the beautiful Riomaggiore!

We stayed in a room at the top of the hill, it was quite a climb but was it ever worth it! We had beautiful views of the sea and Riomaggiore! It is such a cute little town with so much character! The room was huge with a King size bed and bunk beds, and a balcony overlooking the sea below. There was no air conditioning unfortunately, which would be our only complaint because the weather was so hot when we were there but they did leave us two fans which made it a bit more bearable. There is no wifi in your room ,you have to go outside the office for that and our room was no where near the office so we just used the wifi at restaurants ( as most of them offer free wifi) it wasn't a big deal really, we weren't there to have our faces in technology anyway! We shared a bathroom with two other rooms, and our neighbors were great so we never had any issues. The shower is a little small but it gets the job done! For the price, this place was perfect, great location, great view and very relaxing!

This hotel is about 15 minutes walking from the village and it all up hill ... If you are carrying heavy backpacks or luggage don't book here .. The owner doesn't help u with ur baggage and there is no tv in rooms as it says on the website ... No working fan in my room and service wasn't good at all ... If I was to come to cinque terre again I would not book this hotel

The room was not ready on time, the room was extremely filthy, when we mentioned the condition to the staff they did NOTHING ABOUT IT. The photos are extremely misleading, the cleanliness of the room AND bathroom need to be looked into because they are health hazards.

Better Stay Away from CinqueTerre Holidays!

1st, this is not a hotel – it is a collection of rooms scattered in several buildings in the village. Some rooms are close to the station and so very noisy. Others are at top of the slope, which means that you will keep hiking up to access your room, and not hiking the real Cinque Terre!
2nd, no services available after Office closes. Tourists were reporting toilet flooded, sink leaking, no water available in the room, Yet there was no one reachable. You cannot report by phone – you have to show up at the office the next day (which means you have to stop your own tour of Cinque Terra!)
3rd, Misleading the tourists into believing that they have a room, Without DISCLOSING that there are 75-100 stairs to access, with no lift/elevator is called Bait and Switch! When I reported that I have a bad back, cannot climb the narrow spiral 75-100 stairs to access my room, I asked the owner why he failed to include in his posting at hotels.com that there were several stairs with no elevator, the owner starting yelling! His exact words, ”You Americans come here and tell me How I have to run my business? You can take the room or leave!”
4th, Tourists being lured into being given a room with a “View” , but your legs would be hurting by the time you reach this roof-top room after climbing a 100 stairs. Rather spend your legs hiking the beautiful Cinque Terre along the ocean side!
5th, I have already disputed their extra charge of 50 euros with my credit card company.

Would not recommend

The plus was that this room was clean. By no stretch of the imagination is this a hotel. I was made aware that there would be a train strike, making it next to impossible to arrive during the hours available to checkin. It took 3 phone calls and very little cooperation in making arrangements to arrive late. I ended up having to take a taxi or forfeit my payment to arrive by the stated time. Then other guests arrived much much later. The accommodation was a windowless room, with a bed and a bath. The shared terrance had a nice view but one had to navigate through a jungle of dead plants to get to the seating area.

What a view!

The Cinqueterre Holidays is not a hotel. It appears to be a series of rooms in the house we were in as well as other locations throughout the village of Riomaggiore. This isn't a problem, unless you require room service and maid service, of which neither is available. The host was polite and carried my wife's suitcase up the hundreds of steps to the room when we checked in. A very long walk but the view was fabulous!!! And the neighbors were quote nice also. Yes, I would recommend this as a unique place to stay in the Cinque Terre.

The hotel is ok. If you are not very picky about comfort and space the place is fine then. To get to our room we did not have to climb too many steps compared to Cinque Terre standards. The washroom was very very tiny and we almost had no space for the luggage. Our room was not cleaned daily. For the price and the location the room was ok. The owner was very helpful at all times.

This hotel had no A/C, the circuit breakers blew having just the lights on and our phones being charges in the small room. By the way there was only outlet to charge your phone. Be careful pulling the plug out, you'll take the whole wall with you. extremely small room, no space to turn around. You'll get stuck in the shower and bathroom. They did provide clean towels though. there's a height requirement walking up the stairs (5'4 and below).

It's not a hotel... and forget about the internet

This is definitely not a hotel - just someone trying to make lots of $$$ from tourists. You'll get assigned someone's attic or flat that likely wouldn't be what you expect for what you pay. There is also no internet and no air conditioning available.

The room was damp and cold. The comforter had stains on it. You can burn yourself in the shower if you touch the handle. There was The comforter had stains on it. The place has potential if they invest in it and made it cleaner bc it has a nice view outside, but it's current condition is dreadful! I refuse to go to the room until we were going to sleep. Authentic Stay

This is a very authentic room. Hard to find, hard to get to with luggage, but in my opinion, worth the trip. The room was clean and comfortable and fit three adults. Getting settled was a bit tricky. I drove into Riomaggiore and don't recommend it if you can avoid it. There was only one parking lot at the top of town and the hotel was not able/willing to assist with parking at all. After dropping my family off with our luggage near the steps that led to our room (there was no way they could find it without having seen the way) I had to return to the parking lot and wait for someone to leave so I could have a space.

Great hotel for a family

We enjoyed our large apartment with 5 beds, a full kitchen, dining room and balcony with a wonderful view overlooking riomaggiore. The room was clean and quiet. It was a steep hike up over 200 stairs so pack lightly. Our experience was very nice and we would stay there again!

The service was pathetic, angry Italian man that didn't want to work and couldn't cope with all the people. While I waited 45 minutes for him to take me to my room I run into other people that had been trying to track him down to pay, ask for something, etc. The rooms are NOT in the reception/address listed but scattered all over the place in Riomaggiore so when you book you don't know where you will end up... I was lucky and my room was very central but it was up some stairs and on the 3rd floor no lift. Riomaggiore is amazing but I think you are probably better off going to some other hotel...

Wonderful Experience

After arriving at the very conveniently located office of Cinque Terre Holidays, my girlfriend and I were escorted to the most beautiful located apartment right on the side of the mountain with a gorgeous view of both Riomaggiore and the ocean by one of the staff members named Edoardo. During the walk to our private apartment, we saw a great view of the city and Edoardo took pictures of us with my camera and proceeded to insist on kindly carrying my bags for me up the hill. After bringing us to our beautiful apartment, he gave us a wonderful suggestion for dinner and my girlfriend and I proceeded to enjoy the most delicious meal I have had while in Italy. I could not be more satisfied with my experience using Cinque Terre Holidays and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Riomaggiore.

Absolutely gorgeous

Its a bit of a hike, so be prepared for that - but if you're willing to walk up (all of!) the steps you will see one of the most beautiful views out your window you've ever seen. It is so peaceful and beautiful. Its a quaint little cottage - the bed isn't like a fancy hotel bed (which is to say it isnt the best if you've got a bad back) but the place is really comfy and great. We had a wonderful time.

Bad service at this hotel!

I have to say the owner of the hotel was the rudest man I ever met. Not only did we not get air condition (105 degree) but we were stuck in a attic apartment locate at the very top of the town. The toilet seat was not fastened down, and was checking up on like we were a bunch of thieves. He made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed!!!! We stayed in Italy for 2 1/2 weeks and never had such problems. I would never go back. I would choose Monterosa!!!

AWFUL! Strange Owner of Various Properties in Town. Not Nice to Patrons, Unhelpful and Socially Very Awkward. He Apparently Caters To College Kids and Other Young Travelers Who Don't Expect Much and Certainly Don't Get It! This Was The Only Truly Negative Hotel Experience We Had in Two MOnths of Travel. I cannot urge people enough not to stay here.

Not a hotel!

This is not a hotel. It is a company that has rooms scattered all over the area. We talked to multiple people at check-out that had horror stories. Our room was located a few blocks way from the address given here on Hotels.com. The room was up multiple very narrow stair cases. The door know was missing from the inside of the door. The bathroom door was folding metal door that woke the dead when you tried t o close it. No hand towels and no towel hooks. The bedding was old, however it was clean. There was no a/c, there was a ceiling fan.

Caution Needs to be Exercised Accomodation A++ Service D

This review has 2 parts. First the accommodation itself is an apartment / condo complex in the town owned by caring and proud people that love their units. Well furnished and very clean. The premises were as represented, gave good value and was comparable to the type of accommodation offered in the town where rooms are scarce and the locals most hospitable. For the value/price and location A++.

The accommodation is run by a broker who operates under different trade names including hostels. This is not a hotel or B and B. We were greeted by an individual that was not a 'people person' and not suited to the hospitality trade. The young lads hired to show us the accommodation had a little fun with \"newbies\" and walked us up a steep flight of stairs with luggage I am guessing to see if we could make it. We did but it was no short cut! There was an easier route which we used thereafter. You need to be in shape to visit this town and do NOT carry a lot of heavy luggage! That said the area is deserving of the UNESCO status and a Must See.

We noted that the office on main street closed at 7 and later arriving visitors were ignored and hung up on when they appealed for assistance. This was a individual who wanted to accommodate no guests beyond the minimum. The name of Cinque Terra Holidays sadly brings no good will to the town or the Expedia Service and while our transaction was 'letter perfect\" other visitors we met were rightfully displeased and were not served.

Wondeful room in a wonderful town

We loved our room! It was a bit of a hike getting there, but what in Riomaggiore isn't? The staff was so friendly, and kept joking with us about the climb to the room. Once we got in the room, it was wonderful! It had a lot of character. It was a little on the small side, but it didn't really matter. It would be hard to stay there for more than 1 or 2 nights, because there is no place to unpack your stuff. This wasn't a problem for us though, because we were just there for the night with a backpack between the pair of us. Beds were soft, sheets clean, and there were plenty of clean towels. I highly recommend this hotel to any one who wants to stay there!

1 star hotel with a 5 star experience!

While this is probably a 1 star accommodation by North American standards it was a 5 star experience for us. This quaint little town was a delight to my wife and I who went seeking an adventure. Everything is very functional in what is intended to be a longer stay apartment. It has a kitchen, fridge and the like if this is what you want to do. While the decor is medieval (70's) everything is clean as can be and you realize that for most people in this struggling fishing village these are nice accommodations. You even feel charitable knowing that your dollars are helping out the community as this is only source of income. There is no air conditioning so you must be prepared for a very active night life. We listened romantically to a thunder storm as it passed through at Midnight and then the town came alive again once it passed. It was simply worth staying up for. If you need to sleep bring ear plugs and relax to the thrum of people loving life. While we stayed in mostly 4 start hotels during our visit to Italy this was the most romantic and memorable of any other place...go figure! The restaurant across from this spot is superb as I am sure most are in the area. Parking is a separate charge at a facility near the top of the hill. Do some stairmaster workouts before you come, the village in on the side of a very steep mountain....amazing.

If it's a good fit, go for it.

I can only speak to the hilltop house, I guess there is another in town, but we ran into someone that didn't like that room and was trying to change. I think that you may not get to choose if the other is full. So register only if:
-You are OK with walking up a couple hundred stairs with your luggage (hey, you're in Cinque Terrae to walk after all, right?)
-You would enjoy staying in a house, where you have access to a kitchen, but it does not have the clean, crisp feeling of a hotel room.
-You want to pick figs and grapes off the vines in the courtyard in season.
-You will enjoy sitting on the veranda looking down at the ocean and town below you.
-You would enjoy meeting other people that are staying in the same house.
-You don't mind dealing with a somewhat loud, overly assertive owner.

Litt vanskelig å finne frem, men etter det var alt bare velstand! Ble fulgt opp nesten til toppen av bygda, der vi fikk tildelt rommet våres med en nydelig utsikt. Rommet var stort og fint og har ingenting å klage om der.
Selve Riomaggiore tok pusten fra meg og veninna mi og under det korte oppholdet storkoste vi oss! Anbefales !!

Grazioso monolocale con bellissima vista sul mare e con un bel terrazzo con fiori.
Avevo preso la camera col bagno in comune ma siccome quella con bagno privato era libera lo staff molto gentilmente mi ha dato quella allo stesso prezzo.

Après avoir visité la chambre nous avons décidé de trouver un autre hotel. la \"chambre\" était à environ 20 minutes de marche du sois disant office. nous pension que c'était un hotel, mais c'est un \"booker\" qui semble louer des chambres disponibles ici et là dans le village. ce n'était pas propre et dans un quartier beaucoup moins agréable que l'adresse qui nous a été donnée à la reservation. Le \"tenancier\" nous a dit qu'il fallait payer en argent et à l'avance et nous a insulté lorsqu'on lui a dit qu'on ne prenait pas la chambre.
Il ne devrait pas être un partenaire d'Expedia, d'ailleurs le bureau d'information touristique de la ville ne connaît pas ce supposer hotel.

Rummet kändes som de höll på att falla ihop, personalen kom helt oannonserat in i rummet och gav oss skäll för en kudde som råkade ligga på golvet, trapporna var obehagliga och wi-fi som var utlovat fungerade inte.

Belle vue sur la mer

La maison est bien situee. La chambre s'ouvre sur le balcon avec une magnifique vue sur la mer.
La premiere nuit etait calme, mais les gens de la chambre voisine etaient tres bruyants la seconde nuit...
Le probleme a Riomaggiore est le stationnement ! Tout est tres cher !!!

Très belles vue après avoir monté les 250 matches; mais le perit autobus bleu inclus avec la carte de train et accès aux sentier passe en avant... De toute façon il vaut mirixcetre en forme pour faie les sentiers des cinq terred.

Albergo con bella vista ma un po trascurato.

Posizione dell'albergo ottima con una bella vista panoramica. Condizioni della camera insufficienti, la porta del bagno non si chiudeva, la doccia cadente, letto rumoroso.
Inoltre il giardino intorno alla camera carino ma poco curato.

Parfait pour une étape

Appartement parfait pour une étape. Etat vetuste mais spacieux et la vue depuis la terrasse est magnifique. Les équipements de cuisine et salle de bain sont presque inutilisables, et surtout très sales. La literie est confortable. Dommage de ne pas avoir de place de parking. Le rapport qualité prix est satisfaisant.

Vakker utsikt. Rimelig overnatting uten luksus.

Resepsjonen ligger i sentrum. Man må regne med å ringe et telefonnummer for at utleier skal komme og følge en til husrommet. Hotellet har flere hus på stedet. Vi bodde på avbildet sted. Ca 500 meter å gå fra havn og stasjon. Bratt terreng,lettere med sekk enn med koffert. Stedet har ikke drosje. Vakker utsikt mot havet. Balkong, små hager, vakker flora. Rolig område, ikke trafikk, ikke musikk. Ingen kafé i umiddelbar nærhet, ikke kjøleskap, ikke vannkoker. Stedet har tre store rom med en dobbeltseng og en køyeseng. Sengetøyet var rent. Kun tynt dekke. Ett kunstfiberteppe på hele rommet. Elektrisk varmeovn. En fordel å ha med varm pysj hvis man er der tidlig eller sent på året. Delikate håndkle.
Utgangsdøra hadde ikke lås (den var ødelagt). Dørene til rommene hadde lås, men ca 60 % av dørflaten besto av glass. For to eldre damer ga dette en beklemmende følelse.
For en slunken lommebok er dette et bra tilbud.

A recepção fo hotel em Riomaggiore é bem ruim. Parece um \"mufuá\". O quarto, entretanto, é simples e confortável para o nivel de atendimento dessa cidade.
