If you want the true Cinque Terre experience to always remember, this is it! Waves crashing below the iconic yellow harbor building seen in every photo posted or taken. Super nice and informative host and just a perfect stay in late November. No crowds anywhere - and just stunning for us to have stayed there. Perfection.

I booked the superior double room with sea view and it exceeded expectations. The property manager went above and beyond by arranging parking, guiding us through the town and making excellent recommendations for our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and included a bottle of wine which we enjoyed while taking in the spectacular the view from the balcony. The hotel was located close to waterfront restaurants, ferry, train and a short walk to the beach. Loved it!

We met Michael at the train station and he carried my bag to my room!! Many many steps straight up to a beautiful room with a view of the Liguarian Sea. Paolo gave us a map, and basically helped us decide our itineary, where we had openings. He helped us get our hiking and train tickets purchased at a discount. Get in step climbing shape prior to coming. There are many steps in Cinque Terre area. Book a room with a view!!

The place has a beautiful ocean view, right in front of the bay and where pretty much everything happens (restaurants, train station, etc). Paolo, the host, was very attentive and gave us a personalized welcome. Visitors to Cinque Terre must know that traveling light is a must -back pack preferably- given that climbing stairs is your only way around. Getting adequate parking may be challenging and clear instructions by the host are crucial.

The property is located in a village that is quite magical. Had I known just how amazing the villages were, I would have stayed a week. Dont underestimate the amount of walking and stairs you will be doing to get to your room though. Pack light and wear tennis shoes. I had blisters just getting to my room the first trip, though they were worth it. This room in particular is outstanding. We will be back!

The staff gave detailed instructions on how to locate the hotel, but it was still very difficult to find. The last 20 meters was where we became lost. There is no hotel sign visible from the alleyway. We would not have found it except with help from a local.

Riomaggiore Romantic Retreat!

Paolo was an amazing host who looked after all details from parking to excursions. His knowledge of Riomaggiore and the other Cinque Terre villages is unparalleled. The location of the the stay is in the middle of what is happening. Riomaggiore sunsets are unbelievable and the town is the best of them all. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location right down by the water.
Not for the faint of heart! Long walk from car park all downhill. (Meaning everything else is up That hill!)
Steep and narrow stairs up to the rooms. No elevator.
If you have walking issues I would t recommend. If not then go for it! The view is stunning.

We stayed at this beautiful property in late March, and I’ve been meaning to leave a well-deserved review ever since. The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful—he met us at the entrance of the village, helped us find parking, and even carried our luggage, which was especially appreciated given the walk to the property includes a few steps and a bit of a climb.

But trust me, the moment you arrive, it’s all absolutely worth it. The view is simply breathtaking. From the terrace, you can see the endless ocean, the colorful buildings clinging to the cliffs across the bay, and hear the soothing sound of the waves below. It felt like stepping into a postcard.

And the sunsets—wow. I’d call them million-dollar views without hesitation. Watching the sun dip below the horizon with such a dramatic backdrop was a highlight of our trip.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic stay in Riomaggiore with a warm and helpful host, this is the place.

We couldn’t have found a more perfect location for our stay in Riomaggiore. The apartment is right beside the harbour, adjacent to restaurants and the gelato shop (!), and it is spacious and full of character. We have everything we need and the main room and bathroom are clean and beautifully presented. Paulo met us on arrival and gave us a helpful and very interesting overview of the area. His communication before and during our stay was quick and clear. The payment process was easy. We have travelled a lot in the past decade and this beautiful apartment and village will always remain a highlight - we definitely recommend it. (NB: There is a narrow staircase up to the top apartment so check first if you have mobility issues or very heavy luggage. The lower apartment may suit you better. That said, for us the extra steps were 100% worthwhile for the comfort and views awaiting us at the top!)

However, we were not told how far parking was from hotel and the steep roads and uneven steps needed to get to hotel. Daily use of uneven steps was a challenge. We were not told to pack a small bag which would have made trip arrival much better and we had no idea where car was parked until we left.

When you stay here it is literally like you are in the postcard view, staying in a room that is a part of the picture perfect landscape of Riomaggiore. The hosts are extremely helpful and available for anything you need. They helped with trekking/train passes as well as setting us up with the resident pass for open access to Via Del Amore, which is something unique to staying in Riomaggiore. Easy access to train and ferry, and great spots to enjoy spectacular sunsets. If you have trouble with stairs or balance maybe not the best spot for you, but otherwise 1000% recommend. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great location, right on the water, listen to the waves at light. Paolo and Michele were very helpful and informative. So nice to stay in the village and experience it in the quieter mornings and evenings. Prepare for steps though - pack lightly. We did not.

Beautiful view, excellent hosts! Bed was very firm and there are a lot of stairs for the top room but view is incredible. I don’t recommend going in Spring, we were rained out 1.5 days out of our 3 there.

The unit was not as depicted on the listing. There was not a patio/deck overlooking the water, as listed, which was disappointing. Otherwise, the unit was charming, clean, and spacious for our purposes.
It was not at all easy to find, really impossible without assistance, and challenging to negotiate stairs with luggage.

Keep in mind a lot of steep steps to access the Property, which is typical of the area but no mention before booking. A luggage porter charges 10euro per bag.

The WiFi didn't work at all during our last day (the router was suddenly faulty) and affected our ability to do any important work. No solution was provided by the host in spite of reporting the issue hours prior. An alternative network could be accessed from the property with a poor signal but no password was provided in spite of our request.

Property itself is nice and bright and airy. Noisy fan that turns on automatically with bathroom is distracting.

Host is affable and was helpful with arrival orientation.

Amazing City and Views

Dreaming of visiting Cinque Terre for years, we finally made it. I booked our room in advance, and got a great room at Scorci did Mare on the top with the balcony. It was everything I hoped for (plus lots of steps). We went out and walked around, brought a fresh Italian snack back and sat on the patio overlooking this beautiful city. I will be back. There a lots of hills and stairs here, be aware. The bed was hard compared to USA standard but it's normal for Italy in my previous travels.

Couple of things to note about Riomaggiore and Cinque Terre- there are lots of steps/stairs everywhere. This was fine for me but I could imagine others having difficulties getting around the area.
Back to the property- the host met us at the train station and our room was ready early which was awesome for us after a day of travel. Amazing views of the ocean from the room. The host was available by text all day and he stored our luggage for us after checkout. Would come back!

We loved the place despite the difficulty of getting there. Very rustic and authentic. The antique wood ceiling beams were special. No view and cold at night. Riomaggiere is worth the visit but be prepared to climb.
Trattoria La Grotta nearby was excellent ambience and food. Alessandro was terrific! Very attentive proprietor...

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in setting us in and providing recommendations for our travel around Cinque Terre.

Room is simple but cozy. Everything works but the air conditioner definitely needs some cleaning/servicing.

We received many excellent recommendations for hiking and dining during check in and the person who checked us in was lovely. Our best meal was at a recommended restaurant and our favorite hike was their recommendation for taking a longer route from Riomaggio to Corniglia. The room was excellent, especially the terrace overlooking the harbor. I only took a star off for amenities because the hot water kettle needed a bit of cleaning and it would have helped to have a hand towel but everything else was fantastic. The daily tidying up and restocking espresso/biscuits was especially appreciated. I would imagine anyone traveling to Cinque Terre is aware of this but be ready for lots of stairs :) Highly recommend staying here for anyone looking for an authentic experience in Cinque Terre.

Beautiful town and great room

The room was large and with snacks, coffee, and tea. The complimentary wine was amazing, and the host kindly explained about the mountain region and the origin of cinque terre. The hotel is difficult to get to with a big suitcase, but that is typical in cinque terre. It was really helpful for the hotel to be so close to the train station and the marina.

Hidden Gem in Italy

Most incredible Gem of a spot to stay! The stairs to climb to the tippy top were well worth it once we were in our room. I highly recommend staying in Riomaggiore when visiting Cinque Terre. The guest room has a very seashore, beachy vibe which we loved. The balcony was huge with the most breathtaking views. I feel like we stayed in the postcard.

We had an excellent stay here! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, especially Michele who helped carry our suitcases up the very steep stairs. Excellent communication and responsiveness. Also, very helpful in walking us to the property once we arrived there and even showing us a map of the villages and recommending where to go and what to do. The room itself was also nice for what it was, very clean which we appreciated. There was an AC unit in the room but unfortunately it turned off in the middle of the night and we couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. Other than that, great experience. Cute terrace with a nice view as well. Extremely positive experience, would definitely recommend!
