We stayed in the cave room and that was really cool and had a great view from the room. Was off season so it was nice and quiet. Only things to consider is that to access the room involves a descent down a very narrow spiral staircase. Additionally outside our room is a common area shared by other rooms, however there were no other guests using the common room it stayed very quiet.

Only complaint we had was there was a guest above us with a Belgian Malinois dog who would randomly bark throughout the night and would wake us up……I don’t think dogs should be allowed but that’s just me.

Amazing welcome from a lovely member of staff (felt like nothing was too much trouble). It was off season for our visit so not much open in around the village but there was enough to meet our needs. Room was clean and comfortable and we slept to the sound of the tree frogs that were in full (almost deafening at times) voice. Would happily stay again.

Good parts: Loris is amazing at her job! The balcony was nice. Cute place and nicely decorated. Air conditioning worked well.

Bad parts: Our bed was super uncomfortable and hard. We could not sleep. The shower had black mold in it. It needs a good scrubbing.

There are so many great things about Manarola. Guests just want a more comfortable bed and a clean shower. We stayed in the Newport room.

This room is incredible, spacious, comfortable, and with a breathtaking view! Everything about this property is beautiful, from the decor to the perfect location. But honestly, the absolute best part of my stay was Loris!
From the moment I arrived until the end of my short stay, Loris went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She organized the best boat excursions, helped me get tickets to trek between townships, and shared so many local tips and recommendations that helped me make the most of my 3-day visit.
Even after I left, when I realized I had lost an item, she went out of her way to check shops around town trying to help me find it. Although it wasn’t recovered, her kindness and effort truly touched me, she went far beyond what anyone could expect.
I’ll absolutely be coming back to stay here again, not only because of the property’s perfect location and beauty, but because of Loris. She made me feel cared for and welcome, and turned a great stay into an unforgettable experience. She’s the reason I’ll be a long-term customer and will recommend this place to everyone that goes to Cinque Terre! Thank you Loris, you are the BEST!

Our host was wonderful, helpful and friendly. She helped us book a private boat excursion and obtain the pass for the park which included most access fees and bus. The property has exceptional views of the sunset, a beautiful balcony and cave living room to use anytime. The balcony was our favourite, we were able to have our dinner out there, but used our room one night when the balcony was being used by another guest. We had just as good views. The only downside if you’re a light sleeper is that the property is right above the train station and you will hear and feel it go through, throughout the night. Otherwise, the location is fantastic and I think the best of the five towns to stay at.

The hotel is located perfectly if you want to be in the middle of town. It overlooks the main strip and is right down the road from the train. Very convenient! The woman who checked us in was very nice and you get some discounts for the walking trail to Riomaggiore. The hotel is up a big hill fyi. At night it can get very loud due to people outside. Other than that it was a beautiful room and stay.

This property was an excellent value. Staff were helpful and friendly. They booked dinner and a tour for us. The hotel is very close to the train exit. Make no mistake you will still have to haul your luggage quite a way and handle stairs but it is closer than almost all other places to stay. NOTE Expedia has this hotel located in another town. It is located in Manarola.

The AC does not work. Not recommended for anyone who does not handle heat well. We came in the middle of summer and searched for hotels specifically looking for AC. This suite said it provides AC but it was 38 degrees and would not cool down the first day and night. We nearly had to leave but we closed the shutters and staff gave us a fan and eventually it cooled down to warm instead of sweltering.

On a positive note, the staff are very kind and helpful. They gave us a rundown of what we needed to know while in cinque terre.

Finally the shabby chic suite certainly deserves the name shabby. The furniture was dirty and unkept. But the bathroom was clean and renovated. The bedding and towels seemed clean.

From the minute I booked our stay until we left, we received exceptional service. Loris and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to make our arrival, stay and departure smooth and problems free. Our room has a beautiful view, a fridge and everything we needed for our 2 nights. There is a terrace overlooking the square where we enjoyed breakfast, bought at a nearby deli, and a glass of wine at night. It is just steps from the train station. It is uphill, but if you come to Cinque Terre you need to plan on climbing up hills and steps. I would absolutely return to this hotel!

We really enjoyed our two night stay in Manarola. Boutique hotel an easy five minute walk from the train station. Check-in was quick and easy. Our host secured a reservation for dinner quickly at Trattoria dal Billy featuring fresh fish and a spectacular cliff side view of the sunset. Our large, comfortable, well appointed room had a peekaboo view of the town square and sea. Unexpected bonus was a shared terrace with a spectacular unobstructed sea view. Great place to share a bottle of Prosecco and an afternoon snack. Great value for the money in the Cinque Terra.

Definitely worth considering this property. The host, Loris, is exceptional. We had an issue that we needed her help with and she fully came through for us with solid communication and readily available solutions.

Some items of note, there are multiple buildings in the property and there is definitely some walking required for both. One of them is quite the haul (15 min walk) from the main area.
Also, the address says Riomaggiore (at least when I booked it), this property is certainly in Mannarola so please consider that.

This property is located in the heart of Manarola. It is a beautiful smaller town in the cinque terre. The property is outdated and needs a face lift. The biggest draw back is that it is on the bridge where the train runs through. If you are a lite sleeper. You definitely won’t sleeps trains go through at all times of the night, and the property shakes.

The room was advertised as having two queen beds, but we were disappointed to find only one queen bed alongside a pull-out couch that was unusable due to broken and missing slats. It was extremely uncomfortable, with slats that continued to pop out every few minutes, creating a concern that the mattress might fall through. Ultimately, we had to place the mattress on the floor to get any sleep. Although the person at reception was friendly, she insinuated that we had caused the damage to the slats, even though they were clearly already broken when we first laid down. It was something that should have been fixed before we arrived, I'm not sure how it could have been missed.

A beautiful little conner of Manrola. BUT two very steep hills to reach the facility. Thankfully they have a man who will take your luggage up to the mountain. The only complaint I have is the window curtains were too shear and it was by a stairway where others' could see in the room. Expedia sucks with the Internet, keep getting locked out especially if you are having trouble with the Internet abroad to communicate with hotels.

5TP was A++. Loris, our point of contact at the hotel was amazing. The service she provided was well above what you'd expect at the price point. From welcoming us, to her suggestions, to the check out process... flawless. She was clearly passionate about giving us the best experience. Info with directions for arrival were clear and simple. Some poor reviews mention the amount of walking and number of stairs to reach the location. Visiting Cinque Terre, one would hope there is already an expectation of lots of walking up and down many hills and stairs. Not a place for those with mobility issues or trunks of luggage. We took the train from La Spezia. From the Manarola station it was a five minute walk with some light up hill walking. Of all five towns we felt lucky we decided to stay in Manarola. It has the busy waterfront and the more chill uphill part of town. Views from our room were breathtaking. Shared balcony has incredible views too. We booked the Cave Room and it was large, stylish and very clean. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Some reviews have mentioned the train sound. The train runs under/nearby the property. You can hear/feel them, but they never interfered with our sleep (and don't run all night). Laundry service was provided for 10€. We dropped it off with Loris and it was done when we came back. Their commitment to sustainability was also very important to us. We saw a ton of lodging in all five villages and would, without a doubt, book here again.

3/5 stars for us as a group of four.

Minor items that collectively impacted our enjoyment.

* Above the Train line so you hear the trains coming and going. We didn’t realise this when booking.
* The room was not as expected. It’s positioned as a ‘cave room’ which sounded cool. It look to have two separate rooms, which was not the case. The photos used made it difficult to work it out when booking; our error. We booked with our eyes and missed the words. We would not have booked had we known.
* Aircon stopped working on our last day and we could not raise help to fix as it was past reception ours. We tired with an email of course.
* The toilet bowl has a persistent drip drip. Needs a plumber.
* The least satisfactory part was the spiral staircase to access the room. Not clearly identified in the listing. We would not have booked had we know this also.
* Wifi was good.
* Staff pleasant.
* Towels are old and need to be updated as do some pillows.

The property was in a great location, very close to the train station and shops. We were greeted by a wonderful host Loris, who provided a wealth of information and was very accommodating. We stay in the \"shabby chic\" room which had a great water view from the bedroom window. Bathroom was spacious with great water pressure. The room was cleaned and also had a mini fridge. They also had a shared community balcony for guests to use, which was a nice bonus. I suggest using the balcony after a long day with a nice cold drink with a view. The property is located on the top of a hill, so there is a nice little hike. 10/10

Extremely dirty little place

The outside is extremely run down, where they have painted top part and didn’t bother to clean up paint spills on bottom and concrete. Entire place needs to be pressure washed. Huge hanging paint strips, rust and just overall dilapidated look to outside.
Cave area reeks of mildew and mold. Part of the door frame to our door was missing. The bedspread, bathroom sink, and hairdryer had lipstick on it from previous guest. The floors looked dirty especially in corners. The furniture was old and dirty. The bathroom had black mold all In between the tiles and down the emergency string. I saw two bugs in the bathroom, one crawling and one flying.
We asked for a new bedspread which they did change but they didn’t change the top pillows. The bedding and towels were extremely thin material. I doubt they were washed in high temperatures.
We got their so late we did stay the night, we’re supposed to stay 2 nights but we left really early the next morning. The place was just too dirty for us. The little coffee area was nasty. No way I would of eaten anything from there.
You could hear the train constantly at night. They didn’t let us know that you could not drive to this place. They also didn’t let us know that you had to carry your bags a long distance with no real directions. We had difficulty even finding the place. Called them several times with no real help. Then leaving getting your bags back up the hill was horrible.

A gem in a jewel of a village

The location is perfect. Easy access directly from the train station. The village as well as the other villages, all accessible by train, ferry or hiking, are each unique and wonderful. The hotel itself is clean and inviting, our hostess was in close contact with us days before we arrived and when we arrived, showed us around the property, coffee and crackers and glasses for wine were available in the room and in the downstairs reception area. An outdoor patio with seating provided amazing views of the sea and all of the nearby sights, a glass of wine in the evening and coffee in the Am made the view even better. For the price, a total gem. All food recommendations made by our hosts made us want to return again.

It was okay but amenities for breakfast (only free coffee/tea and crackers) is lacking!
The worst thing is that when we booked, we requested two separate beds however one queen bed was confirmed.
When we requested for an extra bed they said they will accommodate our request by adding a bed in the room but never said anything if being charged 20euros per night. What’s worst is the bed added was an inflatable bed that keeps making noises when used making us very uncomfortable and sleepless at night. We’re a bit disappointed on this extra and hidden charge of 20euros per night.

Magical family room. Bedroom 4 carved into the cliff. Super Beautiful village. Just be aware that this location is in Manarola Village not Riomaggiore Village same commune (different village) still part of the beautiful Cinque Terre. Swimming in the harbour excellent with stunning views. Better for children 10 upwards. Receptionist Loris very helpful sorting out transport for my husband too with knee issue. You need to be fit & able bodied to stay in this village. Amazing seafood restaurants too as would expect on the sea. Enjoy. Harbour at dusk & night is stunning too.

It’s hard to pick one thing that stands out above the rest as this property is an adorable gem! The staff are amazing, the atmosphere here is very special, and the location is perfect. We fell in love and will stay here again!

A truly fantastic experience. The room was well appointed, perfect location, a shared balcony overlooking the central square where we met other like minded travelers, easy access to good food and everything we could possibly need. But the real magic of this place was the manager, Loris, who repeatedly went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect stay in Cinqueterre, catered specifically to our family. We stayed for four days and would have loved to remain on longer. If we return to Manarola we will definitely return here. Thank you!

5 Terre Pelagos is a hidden gem in the hills of Manarola. The hotel staff was very helpful. We couldn't find it as the walking directions on Google Maps did not work well. So, we got in touch with the hotel and Pedro, an employee met us at a nearby piazza and walked us to the hotel. The next day our train was cancelled leaving Manarola. We didn't know what to do so we went back to the hotel and the manager on duty, Lucia I think, was VERY helpful to get us on our way. 5 Terre Pelagos calls it selful \"shabby chic\" but it isn't shabby at all. It has a lot of history, clean and very comfortable rooms and a modern bathroom.I would absolutely stay here again.

I liked that it was close to the train station. It was clean and well maintained. What I did not like is that there was almost zero internet access from our room. We could catch it from the restroom, if we were lucky, but as soon as we stepped three feet away we would lose connection. I asked management about it and they said that it was probably because of the heavy use but that it would get better. We stayed there three nights but it never improved.

Friendly staff, extremely close to train station and convenient. Found it hard to sleep from noise you can hear from other rooms with thin walls and people coming in and out of the gate at night.

We had an excellent stay in 5terre Pellagos. Not to mention, it’s located in Manarola, one of the most charming towns of Cinque Terre. The rooms were impeccably clean. Loris was a delight to talk to and very helpful. I would definitely stay here in a heartbeat when I’m in Cinque Terre.
