The construction of the building is not great, however: the floors are very thin, so if you are a light sleeper, *ask for an upstairs floor* or you will not get a good night’s sleep if you are unlucky and get a neighbor above you who walks heavily/drops things on the floor at night.

The room was fine, but I was not aware of the highway behind and it is noisy. I always carry earplugs, but hubby did not so he did not get a good nights sleep. Also, we were at the front desk at 9:10am and was told breakfast was over - everything was too clean - I dont think there was any breakfast offering at all - I did expect at a minimum fresh coffee, so it was disappointing.

Old school drive-up Motel right up against I-95. Aged PTAC wall heat panel switches worn to point of unreadable. Fan made a racket throughout the night. Tile floor thin curtains made room very loud....especially when drunk neighbors arrived back from a bar at 2:15am. Breakfast was white bread, jelly, peanut butter and some plastic wrapped Great Value Snack Muffins. Only good thing was bathroom was updated with decent tile work.

The room was very dirty! Kids wanted to sleep in the car. Have many pictures of the filth we endured. We didn’t turn the tv on because the tv was so nasty we wouldn’t even think about touching the remote. Found 2 dead bugs on one of the beds and outlet covers missing, furniture and curtains had ick on them. We are pack our items we had on in separate sealed bags as precaution. Continental breakfast is from 6am to 9am. Well to heck with that. If rooms are like this I don’t want anything they are serving. I could go on but no sense when I can sum it up with one word, gross!

Stayed for one night to visit Salem. Quick easy check in and out, staff were friendly and room was clean. No carpets so it actually smelled clean as well. Large hotel, many rooms and very easy location to get in and out of. Quiet at night, well lit and safe. Coffee was decent in lobby in early morning. Deposit for room returned very quickly. We will stay here again.

Smelly room, renovated some parts, not clean sheets and bathroom. This is Motel by express way, so didn’t have high expectations. However some reviewers said it renovated it and clean, so we took a chance. Checking in process was ok, lady was not really friendly. The room which I got, smoke smells and second one was also the same.
Few hairs came out from bedding, it was evening time and during the long weekend, so we couldn’t go elsewhere. Never again. Over paid for for that room.

I was a little nervous because I know there is a difference between a hotel and motel. However, when I opened the door to the room, it was beautiful. The room was spotless. The bed had fresh linens. Property was kept clean. The continental breakfast was nice. Coffee was very good. People were friendly. It was a nice stay!!

The front desk personnel were very friendly and kind. The room had been somewhat remodeled. The beds were soft so not super comfortable. The issue I had with was how dirty the floor was in the entire room. It didn't appear to have been cleaned in some time. I used a towel to clean it and we didn't stay the second night we had already paid for. The grout and baseboards are so dirty it was hard to sleep there honestly.

The property was undergoing extensive updating (which looks WONDERFUL!) you can tell they are putting a lot of effort into making this motel feel new. Its tucked away so initially felt hard to find where to turn into while dark and raining but illuminated signs helped! Clean, friendly staff, new everything. I usually stray away from motels but would 100% stay here again!

Place was being renovated, but no noise complaint. Very quiet and peaceful some of the renovation had some things left over in the room like paint tape that was forgotten on the wall, couple of chips in the wall and missing spots that needed to be painted. Aesthetic wise wasn’t a bother. Pillows were EXTRA firm however the nice young gentleman brought us 2 softer pillows which was very nice of him on account that it was late at night around 11pm. The bed however was also very very firm but we made due. Cleanliness was great smelled nice and they gave us a welcome bag with some snacks and water! Overall only complaint was the firmness of the bed. However, will most likely still return for the Salem activities next year and the price of the stay.

This hotel is a little run down, bust most of the staff are helpful and nice, the gentleman especially. There was an incident of DV there, but the staff and law enforcement handled it well. I personally didn’t hear any ruckus, and only knew about it because the police were interviewing the couple in the lobby. My only real complaints are that they had limited options for their confidential breakfast (mostly bagels), and there being a roach in the ac/heater which I informed the lady at the front desk. She said she was going to have someone check it out, but it was still there when I returned hours later. The other thing that bothered me was when I informed her that I just needed towels and the trash to be taken out, she handed me a set of towels and a trash bag. She probably misunderstood that that was all I needed from house keeping, but I feel like she should have offered for housekeeping to do that, especially when I’m talking about the trash being emptied. I didn’t want to spend too much money on a hotel, so I got what I payed for. I do recommend that the hotel invest in a waffle maker though :)

I stayed here with my 2 children on a road trip all the way from Florida to Massachusetts. It’s an easy 20 minute drive from Salem. We stayed 3 nights. It was such a cozy spot that felt like our home away from home. The scenery surrounding the Inn is absolutely gorgeous!! I will stay here on every future trip to Salem now. We loved this place. The breakfast was yummy too. Thank you!

The room was dirty. There were stains on the floor and walls. The toilet was not clean- urine and poop stains. The shower had hair on the wall and tub. They put a car freshener to make the room smell cleaned but it just made things worse. There were holes on the walls. Also you can hear the people on the second floor walking all night long.

The desk staff on check was very helpful. We were very pleased that the room had been newly refurbished and the shower was very good and bed comfortable.
However, when we went for breakfast there wasn’t any milk, at 7 in the morning. The desk staff didn’t know why not. Only 2 plain yoghurts and no boiling water for tea. All rather disappointing.

The hotel was nice. We were pleased when we arrived. Couple of things that we felt ot needs improvement are we’re the steps into our room. It is not a normal step and I was coming in with an ankle injury. It was kind of a high step for someone to get in I don’t know how some of the elderly or handicap people are doing it. We had some difficulty. There should be another mirror, if someone’s in the bathroom, the other person has nothing to use to get readyThe continental breakfast was very unorganized. The counters were very messy. No one was cleaning in between and the covers and the coffee wraps didn’t fit the cups.
The parking lot or rather the drive-in could be a little smoother. That’s a very very bumpy road for a low riding car. better lighting to find the place from the road.
Other than that, our stay was pleasant and everyone was very nice.
We would stay there again

The completed parts of the renovations were nice (the bed, the shower tile, the fixtures), but the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned after completing work, the dining chairs and bathroom trash can were missing, the remote didn't work, and there was no shampoo and soap in the shower.

The place is okay as far as it goes but the room was pretty dreary overall. There was paint peeling off the wall and you can hear both the highway as well as people coming into the adjacent rooms throughout the night which meant that it was difficult for me to get consistent sleep. The bed was comfortable but there was not fitted sheet--instead a regular sheet was used as a substitute and which could not be easily tucked in which meant that it keep bunching up while I was trying to sleep. For $180/Night, it was not worth the money.

Cigarette smell in room

The room should have been non smoking but it stank of cigarettes. We ignored it as we're tired but when going back into room next day it was really bad. Now in another hotel and our clothes smell of the cigarette smoke just by sleeping in the room

We stayed for three nights, we only originally received two towels for two people and that was the only towels for our stay. Housekeeping never came by until we checked out and they were in the room before we put the car in reserve. Sheets were stained. There was also construction happening in the room above us every night we were there…. So no sleep. Next year we will be looking for another place to stay

\"A\" for effort! Clearly this property is under new management, and they are doing a great job of making this an excellent place to stay - but it is a work in process still.

They are putting in all new furniture, redoing all the rooms, and it is really nice - but there were a few items which needed to be taken care of. The floor was really dirty, but the cleaning people took care of it. And while the fixtures are all new and nice, not all the restoration is done yet (like paint in the bathroom, and entrance door).
The hotel is tucked away, so interesting to get to, but it is quiet and secure - so a good result.
It was just what we needed for a few nights, and can recommend - it will only get better.
