The ONLY good thing about this stay was the friendly reception (guy). Terrible location, was afraid to park my rental car in the lot, loiterers. Hotel was very run down. The first room we were given had a broken toilet and the maintenance cart was still in the room. Just a very disappointing stay overall such that on my return to the airport I cancelled the last night and booked elsewhere.

Very run down hotel. Not once did they clean our room in 3 days. The pool was closed. Our third night there was no running water or ways to flush toilet. Their solution was to refund the night but we would have to leave; It was 11pm. Would not answer and ignored ours and Expedia's calls to fix or cancel any days. Manager was confidently never there any days. All around poor experience and very disappointed. Remove this hotel from Expedia!

Facility is set near restaurants and shops, which was a plus. The building itself is outdated. The entrance is lit by a big red light which feels a bit more like Amsterdam than a hotel in New England. One elevator was not in use. The room itself wasn’t bad, just worn.

This hotel is the definition of mediocre. It’s overall very tired looking and feeling. One of the elevators wasn’t working. Despite being a non-smoking hotel, it’s sort of smelled like smoke overall. The bath towels smelled like smoke. I could definitely tell that was a pet friendly hotel because I could feel it in my lungs despite I assume a clean room. Few convenient outlets in the room; no USB plug in outlets; old microwave that didn’t heat well.

Despite booking 5 months in advance when we arrived at the hotel after a long day travelling we were told we didn’t have a reservation
It then became apparent they’d checked someone else into our room and charged my credit card!!
We did get a room eventually however there were hairs on the toilet, in the shower and in the beds.

The property was not safe, the areas around the rooms were not safe. It was noisy all night, the smell of Marijuana was strong throughout the hallways that permeated into our room. The staff was not super friendly, very bland. While we were there a car had it's tires and rims stolen in the middle of the night. Staff said \"it happens sometimes\" and \"police are investigating\". We did not feel safe at all and were afraid the same would happen to our vehicle. Find a better place to stay if you can.

Conveniently located next to shops and dining options (walking distance) and only a 15 min drive to Salem which was the purpose of our trip. Rooms could be updated some but overall, the room was comfortable and clean. I would not only recommend, but I will also be back at another time.

Yesterday, October 17th, I left the \"Do Not Disturb\" signs in front of the door, but October 18 at 7:10am I took them down. Around 9:30 pm I arrived back to the room and the bed was a mess. The dirty towel was on the chair and was open. In the bathroom, there was only one folded towel near the toilet. What about the others towels ? Why don't I have new towels? Why isn't the room clean? The bathtub drain doesn't work, the water gets clogged every time when I need to take the shower, there was a pool over there. The trash cans never was clean or change it, the 3 days was there never the personal service got the trash.

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. For the price of the room per night $279, it was horrible. Whatever detergent they use for their towels, i had an allergic reaction. I had to take another shower and use my sweater to dry off. The room was dark and paint chipping off. Not sure what room was used to take the photos we saw when we booked.

Getting there and parking was easy. It’s around a lot of shops and restaurants so that was pretty convenient. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture was in good shape. Air conditioning worked pretty well for a comfortable nights sleep or just to be in the room during the day. The tv had a bunch of working channels. The staff was friendly. Overall, good place to stay short or long. I would recommend, especially if you’re trying to visit Salem and don’t want to spend $$$

The guy that checked us in and out was super nice and helpful considering we had to switch rooms because the first room had roaches in the fridge and hair all over the bathroom. Location was nice. There was a plaza right next-door with a grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants, which was nice considering there was nothing in the hotel itself. Room was outdated walls and plaster peeling TV was old hard to get channels in. The whole hotel could use a huge makeover definitely feel like I paid more than I should have but overall, it was a place to stay in an overbooked time to get to Salem.

Red Roof Inn was not my top choice, as where I'm from they are associated with prostitution and drug use, but we were in a different state and just needed a cheap place to sleep and reviews weren't bad. The hallways smelled bad, like weed and chemicals. The room itself was very spacious and overall clean enough. However, there was an overwhelming air freshener smell, I mean INTENSE to where you almost feel like you can taste it. Then half the TV channels didn't work, the bed was super squeaky, the bathroom sink water temp wouldn't get hotter than room temp and there was so much moisture in the air that the bedding felt slightly damp. The person working the desk had a baseball hat on, thought that was odd, he didn't speak other than to tell us about the incidental charge, and tell us what floor we were on. He wasn't rude or anything, but I guess I'm used to a friendlier check in at hotels. It was quiet, so that was a plus. Just not worth the price, it was a cheap room at around $130, but quality of a room that should be about $70 a night.

I would not recommend this property.
1. Its run down very dated.
2. The smell in the room 529 was nasty smelled of dead fish.
3. Beds are cheap spring mattresses that you can feel every spring.
4. Pillows were flat.
5. Had to ask every day for room service and the maids seemed put out by me asking.
6. Had to ask for clean towels every day.
Parking is not well lite.
7. Only one elevator.
8. No tv guide very limited channels.
The only good thing was the water pressure in the shower.
