A smart, comfortable and stylish base among the downtown delights of the city centre. Storm Hotel is an attractive and convenient blend of quality service, designer touches and functional grace.

We offer three different types of rooms that offer spacious comfort in the heart of the city, that are equipped with all the basic modern amenities, including a private bathroom with a walk in shower, a flat screen and a comfortable desk. Our bar offers a relaxed atmosphere and first class service, with a wide selection of cocktails, wines , etc.

If you wish an easy walk to the core this is the place for you! A variety of restaurants and sites are nearby including the shoreline. If you have an event at The Harpa Centre it is a brief walk or a short cab ride away! Enjoy the breakfast… it’s the best.

Storm Hotel is in a great location to visit Reykjavik with a flybus stop outside the front door and a local bus stop round the corner. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and the rooms were a good size. There was plenty for breakfast, but no eggs & bacon. I would certainly use hotel storm for any return visit to Reykjavik.

Storm Hotel is centrally located, making it very convenient to get around the city. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, and it’s also very easy to join tours from here.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I especially loved the heated towel rack in the bathroom — such a nice and thoughtful touch.

I would definitely stay here again. In fact, I’ve already booked another stay.

Spacious bedroom. Breakfast had a good choice but fairly busy and not many tables, but we didn’t struggle to find space. Bus stop 12 outside the hotel where most tour operators pick up from. We tried to hire a car and the receptionist couldn’t have been more unhelpful, but thankfully, we spoke to someone else who helped to recommend. I would stay here again.

There is one very small lot for the actual hotel, other than that it’s street or public lots that you may have to pay for. Otherwise, fantastic place, would stay here again. This is not a hotel for people that need hand holding. The location is PERFECT if you’re taking tours. The bus stop is literally in front of the hotel. There is no restaurant for lunch or dinner so one needs to walk about 10 minutes or so to find restaurants on the shopping street.

The room was fine aside from only having a tiny window with no view. Also a microwave and mini fridge would be nice. None in the lobby either. I asked the staff because I need to heat up some food and I was not given any option. I also had some medication that needed to be stored in a fridge. They did store that for me. The location is not great. The area is surrounded by large commercial buildings looks like a financial district. The main tourist strip is a 20 min walk.

We were there for only two nights visiting family. This was our first time staying at a Kea hotel. We found it clean, modern, and in a good location. The continental style breakfast was good and had a nice selection of items. They do have parking, but it is extremely limited and I wouldn't rely on getting a spot. You can pay for parking on the street from 9am to 9pm. We definitely would stay there again the next time we are in Reykjavik.

Excellent hotel. Fantastic service as I asked to move rooms due to being near the lifts as I am a light sleeper and this was dealt with immediately. Rooms immaculate. My only complaints is the parking lot— it’s small. There’s an overflow parking space but you’ll need to move your car before 8AM or else you’ll get charge.

Overall, the hotel is nice and in great location.

We’d love to come stay again

Excellent hotel. Everything thoughtfully done, including leaving coffee and croissant out for guests who had to leave before breakfast started. The physical design was also impressive, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. Friendly people at the desk and in the restaurant, nice breakfast with several options. Was initially concerned it would be too far from the center of Reykjavik but we found a great one — Reykjavik Kitchen — nearby.

Property was located centrally people were very courteous and my husband and I had a very pleasant stay at this location. We had our own car and were able to park it in the parking lot some of the days. The European breakfast was wonderful every morning. There are lots of buses that stop outside and one can take them to several locations.

Of the four hotels I stayed at while in Iceland, I liked this the best. The other Kea hotel I stayed at in Reykjavik had only a tiny window up high that opened out for ventilation and every time I returned to the room it smelled stuffy. The window at the Storm opened out at the sill, so I could store water bottles there without fear of them falling out and they would stay cold with the window open. The room was larger than others, and the staff were the most accommodating. The only thing I'd wish for that they did not have was a hot breakfast option such as eggs and bacon as I found at a hotel along the South coast. The Storm is conveniently located near Kronan's grocery, and there's a bus stop (#12} right across the street from the main entrance.

We stayed at 9 different hotel during our ring road trip. This one definitely the nicest. We got the corner room with balcony and good view of the city. Room was spacious and bed is very comfortable. Room temp was very comfortable even without AC. We couldn’t get parking as it was full, but there’s paid parking area just around the corner. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s about 10 mins away from downtown area. Bathroom also quite spacious.

Loving the Iceland Experience

Stopped over in Reykjavik for two nights at the end of a two-week trip through Scandanavia. Because we were only going to be there for two nights, we wanted to experience as much as we could of Iceland, so we booked a Golden Circle Tour, and as it turned out the pick-up point for the tour was right out in front of the Storm Hotel. It couldn't have worked out more perfectly. The hotel itself was very clean and new, and all of the people at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants and helping us book our transportation back to the airport. Although this hotel was not in the middle of the central part of the city, it was only about a 10–15-minute walk to any place we wanted to visit.
