We loved our stay here. I booked based solely on reviews which sometimes doesn’t always hold true…but this time it did. this is a self check in hotel. It’s compact one thing I missed was that there is no air conditioning and it was a heat wave in the 70’s when we were there, but we weren’t in the room that much and I had traveled with a mini fan so it worked out OK. Is connected to an excellent bakery where we enjoyed coffee and cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The location was good for us. It wasn’t a very difficult walk to get to rainbow Road.

It took awhile to receive our entry codes. When you are 75 some Tech things don’t come that easy. Codes were NOT sent 48 hours ahead. Had to contact the hotel for codes. Once we received the codes everything was very good. Would like to have luggage racks to sit luggage on. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Good location with easy access to the city centre. A contactless check in with access codes sent to us 24 hours in advance. Free parking right outside the hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Good sized bathroom with a great shower. Good bakery attached to the hotel. Only slight criticism is the blackout blonds could have been better with it getting light at 3.30am. Overall a great place to stay in Reykjavik.

The location was great and it had free parking. I found the apartment to be a bit cramped. It had a good enough kitchen area that was supplied adequately but there was not much room for luggage storage or for hanging up clothing. The bathroom looked good but something was very wrong with either the shower door or the slope of the floor…every time we had a shower quite a lot of water ended up in the rest of the bathroom and we had to mop it up with towels. Also the bathroom door was rather strange as it was a sliding glass door that didn’t seem to be sitting on its tracking quite right.

The property was clean and the room was very cute and well appointed, if tiny. The room was large enough for a bed, and that’s it. Tiny. Parking was advertised as free but there were only 5 dedicated spots and street parking was non-existent after 5 PM. It was bumper to bumper on the streets. The room didn’t have a/c and it was stifling hot when we got in. There was a tiny window to open and the host brought a fan upon request - but it was uncomfortably hot in the room the entire time. Location was convenient to get to our plans and a nice little shopping area and food hall a few blocks away. Overall ok but I wouldn’t come back.

Location is great especially if you have a car. There is free parking which is great. It’s a nice a fantastic bakery which is handy and near all the motorways for easy daily day trips. Kitchen was great and while small very useful. We had a king bed and twin and they were cozy with the right firmness. Shower had great pressure and a hand shower which ladies appreciate. The sink is finicky and will spray water at you but that’s a small complaint. Tried to use the tv with iPhone and it wouldn’t work oh well. All in all lovely location and place to stay with easy check in using just a code sent to your email. Make sure you have access to the internet when you land.

ODDSON Downtown is a perfect option for those looking for a quiet, understated but still comfortable and cozy stay in Rvk. If you're an ambitious walker like me who prefers privacy and adventure, this location is excellent, with easy access to 24 stores, groceries, bus stops, and dinner options. There's usually parking in the area, even if it's not the ODDSON spaces, but be careful to avoid the reserved spots directly next door. The kitchen is perfect, the bathroom is small but clean, and the bed is super cozy. With Icelandic heating, you can keep a window open at all times, which feels refreshing. The staff are responsive, my only complaint is the late check-in time, so definitely recommend booking the day before you arrive if your flight lands early in the morning.

Looks worn out from second hand store. Very very disappointing for over $100-$200 per night for holidays.

The room and the amenities were great. I did have problems with my door code that was very frustrating since I had an evening stuck outside for 10 minutes until a staff came. Customer service was friendly and quick to respond. The room was nice I’d say the only bad parts were the shower door kind of awkwardly opened to make it hard to get out onto the towel & no nightstands.

The room was poorly appointed and in need of maintenance. The bed was simply two single beds pushed together, made up with separate single comforter sheets instead of a proper size fitted sheet. The provided comforters was frayed and damaged at the edges.The bathroom was equally problematic. The shower door opened directly onto the floor, forcing us to exit directly onto the cold tile and step across the entire small room to reach the towel. The shower itself had no shelves or soap rack, offering no space for personal toiletries. Further issues included a hand soap dispenser next to the sink that was attached by only one screw, causing it to twist sideways with every use. In the kitchenette, the faucet was so loose that it required two hands to operate: one to hold the base steady and the other to turn the water on.

There’s a bakery downstairs, we stayed in the room above it, and we were woken up super early every morning when the bakery staff came to work. Also, can hear everyone who passed by talking. Not recommend for light sleepers!

The bigger problem was cleanliness and allergies. When I booked, I made a special request for non-allergenic bedding. I received a reply that this "will be taken care of". It wasn't, and pillows and duvets were all down/feather.
We requested that they correct their error the afternoon we arrived, via WhatsApp. The off-site desk replied it would be done by 19:30. When it still wasn't done by 10, we went to bed exhausted.
At 23:35 the hotel staff phoned via WhatsApp asking if the could come. I was asleep but my husband accepted as long as it could be quick. They arrived 15 min later, with only 2 replacement pillows and no duvets. They apologized for the problem, saying they had found our request on file, but that there had been so many requests that they ran out. They promised that replacement duvets would arrive the next morning, and that they would get the manager to refund the 1st night of the prepaid stay.
That was the last we heard from hotel staff. The dust in the room and feathers in the duvets triggered our allergies every time we were in the room. No refund or formal apology came from the manager.
This is poor behaviour for the tourism industry. Had they not promised to provide the bedding, I wouldn't have completed the booking. If they can't keep their word, they are worth avoiding.

We really enjoyed Oddsson. It’s right next door to a cute coffee shop and only 7 minutes to a grocery store by foot. We liked how close it was to everything, but outside of the main areas enough to be quiet. The only downside for us was the room was quite warm. We were there in July and it was a warm summer for Reykjavík, and the room was very warm. Our room only had one small window that would open and there were no fans. Just be prepared. Still a great place to stay and a lovely room, just can be a little warm during the warm months.

Great room. Comfortable and clean. Communication was terrible. Very difficult to reach concierge and given the wrong directions to catch our Fly Bus. We noticed immediately and they didn’t believe us. We needed a couple things re-stocked in the room and never heard back. The keypad to enter the building can be tricky and we weren’t the only people having trouble getting in.

A group of 8 of us stayed here for a week while in Iceland and each couple had their own room. Each room is different. Great location to be able to walk to everything downtown. This place is more like a tiny efficiency apartment rather than a hotel room. The beds are incredibly comfortable, kitchette was well stocked, bathroom and shower was great! It was a nice touch to have a towel warmer in the bathroom. There is a wonderful bakery right next door that we got coffee and rolls every morning, that were amazing! The only con would be that the rooms are very warm, even with windows open, so bring a fan. Housekeeping came every other day, which was perfect. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a very nice hotel located in the heart of Reykjavík. It’s very comfortable though the rooms are not immensely large. Just for people’s knowledge, there is no front desk for check in and no observable staff. No worries though, they send you a code for keypad for the front door and your room. We had zero issues getting into the hotel and into our room. A very important note, there is a phenomenal bakery called Brikk right next to the hotel. They have wonderful baked goods and really good coffee. Well worth your time and money.
