The kitchenette room has absolutely nothing in it
The kitchen is completely empty. When I approached their front desk they said people usually bring their own things not a glass not a coffee maker, nothing. No stsrter items, when i say nothing i mean nothing. The apartment was not clean, it had water all over the floor. No blankets. This is a dive hotel, do not stay here.

The location of this hotel to the beach is excellent. The hotel itself is let down badly by certain staff members and the manager. On arrival to the apartment we booked we found there to be no plates or cutlery what so ever in the kitchen, when I went to reception to ask for some the boy on reception told me they were not included I asked if they could provide some and even offered to pay or leave a deposit and he still said no. I asked him to contact the manager which he did on the phone and they proceeded to laugh and ridicule me not realising that I speak Spanish and understood everything they were saying! I asked to speak to the manager and he gave me the phone and he told me I should have brought cutlery plates and utensils with me from the UK!! We ended up having to go buy them.
There were no towels in the apartment and when we asked for some there were full of stains and grubby so we went out and bought towels as well as we didn’t want to use there grubby ones.
One of the bedroom windows was broken and didn’t shut there was a one once gap. There were 2 plug sockets hanging off the wall.
The whole property was very run down and needs a lot of work to bring it up to even safety standards and in my opinion would benefit from new management who at least have good customer care. I was surprised to find out the hotel checkin chain is a Spanish company and I will be making them aware of the bad management of this particular hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Checkin. However, there are few things to be mindful for those that are visiting this hotel as an English speaking traveler.

First of all, the property is not huge and as result there is limited beach front space available. However, the staff works diligently to maintain the property and there's always someone friendly at the front desk to help with any request you may have. It's not a 5 star resort, but its a cute little hotel where you can setup and have the option to check out the beach or local shops. Having breakfast available as part of the stay is also handy.

Second, IF you only speak English, it's a little tough to communicate as most of the staff are not very fluent (including the bar). In that case, ask for Danna at the front desk who speaks English very well and was extremely helpful! She was kind enough to help us with various translation needs.

Lastly, the hotel is located at the end of the street and its sometimes hard to find. There's another Hotel Checkin nearby and that leads to some confusion about the location. This could be challenging if you're trying to locate the hotel or if using Uber.

Overall, my family really enjoyed the stay and consider this hotel as a small gem at the Cortecito beach.
I will definitely go back in future.

We moved out after one night! The room they gave us was so incredibly horrible that we couldn’t sleep. There was a window to the corridor which had no covering and a light was shining into the room all night. We booked a room based on the pictures in the ad, but we think we got a staff quarters room, for over $200 a night! To their credit, Expedia sorted it for us and we moved out after one night. Expedia was fantastic!

Safe was broken in room. My suitcase was ransacked while I was out of room and money was stolen. They said they checked the cameras and found nothing and couldn't help me. Both balcony doors did not lock. One should be able to go to hotel and have a secure room with out the fear of being robbed of ones belongings.

I went to Punta Cana for Thanksgiving and although I was a solo traveler everyone was like family to me. I was greeted by Danna with a big smile which is great when you first arrive somewhere and made me feel so comfortable. The staff- Anyi and I wish I I knew everyone's names were amazing. I felt so safe and they would help with anything you needed. Thank you and I hope one day I get to see all of you again!!!!

The only nice thing about this hotel is the beach front (where the bar/sitting area is right in front of the beach), everything else is terrible - even the beach chairs are old… I had a terrible issue with my room (standard room), the pictures on the Expedia website do not match the reality, they are from another hotel. Everything is old in this property, rundown, and dirty. I had no hot water, the windows in my room didn’t lock, the bed sheets were dirty, the towels stank, etc. The breakfast is extremely basic and in one of the days they could only serve one of the options as it was all they had available (from the “a la carte” menu). The location is at the end of a dead-end road which doesn’t allow excursion vans to reach, which sucks. The reception staff are 18-year olds running the show by themselves the whole day. Also the English understanding level at this property is very limited so you need to have some basic Spanish to be able to communicate really. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone and would never go back - I don’t even understand how this is called an hotel, this is more a block of rundown apartments with poor management.

Nice little 3 star hotel right in front of the beach. Rooms seem to have gone some face lifting, which was nice.
The staff was courteous and friendly. We had some hiccups with the airport transfer arranged by the hotel, but overll good service.

I had a great time in this hotel .it is a beachfront property.the room was clean and spacious.internet was fast .breakfast was nice..the staff were very nice and professional..my flight was at 9.00 pm and the Yorlin from the reception was very nice and very professional..he allowed me for a late check out which allowed me to get some rest since i am taking 3 flights to travel back home with a total of 26 hours .thank you Yorlin

The pictures paint a picture of a decent stay thats far from the truth. The room was burning up hot with one AC unit that blew low just in the room, we also had a dining and living room. The beds are spring mattresses. The walls have water stains (not that this matters) the pretty frames in the pictures weren’t there. Our welcome water was boiling hot. The guy at the front desk was nice but didn’t give up much info, we had to ask about the WiFi, very slow internet. It was in an unsafe area (we found out from multiple people). We didn’t stay, saw the place and left. Before arriving I called and emailed I had questions but no one ever returned my call nor emailed me back. This place gives false advertisements. .

This hotel wasn’t amazing like a resort but you can’t beat the price for a hotel right on the beach!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I love that you can walk right on Bávaro Beach, this beach was great! You also get made-to-order breakfast for free and you can eat it overlooking the beach. The beach was overly crowded, clean, soft sand and beautiful water, get a Piña colada from the guy on the cart he makes it delish with lots of rum! The shop next door is the only place I found good souvenirs for cheap. And it was next to Captain Cooks which is absolutely amazing, shared the grilled seafood platter with my friend and it was soooo delish!! But all the food I had in Punta Cana especially the seafood was amazing and fresh!! But Captain Cooks and Jelly Fish were my faves!! The room isn’t good looking but you get not just a room with a bed but also a living area with a couch and desk. Overall I would rate 4⭐️

Over-all enjoyed my stay here. The longer I stayed, the more I appreciate the place. Staff is amazing despite not really speaking English - we managed to communicate. Breakfast selection is the best. Also, just a few steps to the beach where you can also have your breakfast.

Not at all what you see on the pics!!! This is a cheap motel advertised as a hotel …. First time it happens to me in expedia!!! I did not like the staff, room, around, no parking spaces, we were lucky to find something available…. I mean for one night if you loose your flight and everything else is taken, well, I guess you’d deal with it, but other than that, wouldn’t recommend. So, please let tourists know the truth about this place… the pics are not at all what you see, this has to be taken care of…

Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and welcomed. The entrance and breakfast area was clean. Check in was easy. We were escorted to our room which was a nice size with a king size bed. There was a mini fridge in the room. The room was very clean. We were told to come to the front desk and we would be escorted to dinner. We were taken across the street to a restaurant that was right on the beach. It was a great start to our vacation. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast. Check out was easy. We would definitely stay again.

Hidden gem for solo traveler

If you don’t mind noise, and there to party , you will love the spot . Neighbors (geek Hotel) has a 24hrs bar with music so expect some noice overnight from party goers or simply partake at the party. Every single staff where incredibly nice and responsive. From front desk to kitchen to security we’re all great.

Camas muy duras, ropa de cama vieja dignas de reemplazo urgente. Habitación con ventana al pasillo sin cortinas, de forma que todo el qué pasa por el pasillo puede mirar hacia adentro. Poca privacidad.
Buen desayuno aunque limitado. No se les ocurra pedir nada para almorzar o cenar, pues parece que el chef para esas ocasiones no es el mismo y la comida estaba horrible, especialmente la carne de una hamburguesa que enfermó a mi esposa.

The front desk service was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was actually quite good also. We had a time during the night where there was no water and when the water was turned back on, it came out like rusty mud. The air-conditioning was only in the bedroom but the bathroom and front room were extremely hot because of lack of air-conditioning. One of the windows in the front room did not have a curtain so anyone walking outside could easily see in our room. The slider to the outside patio also wouldn’t close all the way and would not lock. Location to the beach was close and easily accessible. overall, I would say it was well worth the money.

This hotel is a hidden gem, it was such a nice surprise. The staff is amazing and the bar by the beach is a great plus. Breakfast is included and you have many options to choose from, the kitchen staff does a great job. The best thing tho, is the staff they help you out and make sure all your needs are met, super friendly and attentive. I would definitely be back.

Realmente me deje llevar por las fotos que tienen en su pagina mostrando todo bello, hermoso y expectacular como por fuera y adentro del hotel. NO ES REAL...Llegue pagar $400 dolares por 3 dias y me lleve una decepción total primera y ultima vez, no lo recomiendo, la estructura necesita mejoras y más presentación visual en los interiores, alrededor en la calle super abandonado y mal olor a aguas negras. su servicio no es agradable es pobre, La administración y el dueño deberian darle mas atencion para que los huéspedes esten a gusto.La pintura por fuera esta fea, por dentro no tiene algo presentable que adorne el hotel. Al llegar al hotel realice el chekin me dieron una habitacion que parecia un cuarto de un Motel mega sencillo todo blanco, la cama tenia unas sabanas llena de arena y hasta pelos humanos, que para mi no habian cambiado las sabanas, el baño las cerraduras de la ducha mohosas y a penas salia agua, la misma noche durmiendo la cama se cayo al suelo \"Desastre\", la Tv no funcionaba \" En todo el hotel no tiene servicio de televisión ni locales\", no tiene un teléfono en la habitación, no tienen articulos como Jabón para el cabello, no tenia una caja de seguridad, cuando uno dialoga con los empleados y no se atreven hablar con uno, se ven intimidados, y no le resuelven. El servicio del desayuno solo tenia \"omellete, sándwich, cafe de maquina y jugo de maquina\" Si pedias agua te la cobraban. De mi parte no me gusto nada. Hay no tiene un buzon de sugerencias.
