PROS: Beautiful BIG campus immaculately manicured. Easy drive from the airport. CONS: I didn't think you were supposed to tip at an all inclusive...but everyone was! I did not bring ANY cash. There were multiple \"concierges\" trying to get you book things...I'm not sure what their purpose was. They were relentless...posted up all over the campus asking if you wanted to book a spa package. They must have been looking for a tip? or maybe worked on commision? Not sure. The Gym was tiny...for the size of the facility, the gym should have been 3x the size. I waited for every machine.

The room was fine, the amenities were adequate, but the service was spotty. We had a hard time communicating with the staff, and ended up with quite a few incorrect food or drink orders.

Cesar, the concierge who was assigned to us, was a 5-star host and made the stay much better.

We had Jr Suite Swim Up room (Palace 4000 building). Fabulous location--steps from the beach! Room: Comfortable beds, double sinks, rainshower + hand-held shower head, large bottles of shampoo/conditioner/bodywash, safe for valuables, mini fridge stocked daily w/ soda, beer, water. (BYO liquid handsoap, unless you like barsoap for hands.) Room felt damp (as expected in tropical climate), but was clean & free of bugs. Room had beautiful patio w/ lounge chairs, swim up pool, & view of the ocean. Room tidied daily (beds made, fresh towels, floor swept...)
Beach was beautiful! Soft white sand, seagreen water, gentle waves like a wave pool. A little seaweed, but nothing too bad & intermittent. Each morning, they clean up seaweed that has accumulated on the beach. Plenty of lounge chairs (but we woke up early to get chairs) & lots of trees & palapas for shade.

Food was ok. We did Los Torres buffet for breakfast. Large selection. Loved the made-to-order egg station. Delicious lattes at Palace Lobby coffee bar. For lunch, yummy pizza at La Uva (beach shack) & vast lunch buffet by Palace pool. Enjoyed panini & pasta stations. Our FABULOUS personal concierge Cesar got us dinner reservations at the ala carte restaurants. Hibachi was our fav. Dinner buffet also good.

Drinks were fabulous! Bars all over & huge selection

Fun sports complex (sand vball, pickleball, mini golf)

Staff was SUPER friendly! Cesar was great--put up decor for daughter's bday, help schedule excursion, etc

They are spending all their money on the Palladium Bavaro it seems! All seating in hotel is very poor with sunken in seats. All loungers on Beach are sagging and broken bar to recline falls off every time you use it. TV. cannot watch because picture freezes on a shot but the recording continues. No beach Bars open because or erosion to area and they have not replaced the Cement base you would stand on nor the steps leading down to the beach at the end of the walkway. Some of the beach Cabana's are tilted do you can not sit a drink on them and to be under one our chairs were on a slope due to the mass amount of sand piled up there. When we would see a Bar waiter to order a drink and by the time he got back a frozen drink was already quite melted, plus he was a long time making his rounds due to his having to go to the pool bar and get the drinks.
The Staff was great although you really need to speak Spanish to explain any special request to them. They only knew minimal English in restaurants and bar wait staff. If it weren't for Chayanne and Cesar our Concierges we would have had more problems.
Our room was clean but needed more hangers which Chayanne was finally able to get me. All food was good but that which was prepared ahead was not warm like the warming trays were not working, even the ham sliced right off the bone was not warm same for the chicken etc.
But we did enjoy the mass selections.

The rooms were weird. There’s a giant door between the shower and the bedroom. It leaks and it’s really creepy. Staff members were loitering in the steps of our building all day and night, and they would talk and make crude gestures behind my daughter’s back - it was inappropriate and almost scary. The beach is one of the softest beaches I’ve ever been to, and it is totally ruined by the vendors harassing you every 4 minutes.

The room bathroom tub was very slow to drain making water stay in the tub overnight. The tub design is very poor, water gets all over the floor while showering. And water pressure was horrible. The power outlets on both sides of the bed did not work. The AC in the room was horrible too. The lowest we could set it for was 71 degrees F making it difficult to sleep at night.
The staff and staff service was great everywhere throughout the resort. The concierge person Cesar was amazing. He made sure we had everything we needed. Food was great. The place has great potential, just needs to be updated (all bathrooms and bedrooms)

We fell in love with this place ,not because is a wow resort ,it is nice place but because of the staff there.They are by far friendliest and nicest people we have seen in DR after so many trips.So helpful ,happy ,just interacting and smiling.Rafael at front desk went above and checked on us every day(no,we did not have privileged or premium )he made sure we have reservation and just was there from start to end(and i am a tough customer to please). We felt like family not just another customer..All staff is exceptional but of course Rafael was amazing so big Thank You Rafael !Girls at lobby:Denis ,Genesis ,There was couple more but unfortunately don't have their names.Angela -Spa,
We spent a lot of times sitting at lobby with drinks and coffee and watched them.Majority of people did not tip at all ,but they still gave them same service and smiles.Just amazing people .From front desk to housekeeping ,servers,landscaping .Definitely they are the reason to come back.

5/5 Exceptional Service and Memorable Stay Despite the Weather
I travel frequently and have stayed at a wide variety of hotels around the world, but my experience at The Palace Hotel in the Dominican Republic was truly different — in the best way. From the moment I arrived, the staff impressed me with their warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Everyone was very helpful and polite, and the overall service exceeded my expectations.
I personally value the quality of service more than the facilities, and in this case, both were commendable. The infrastructure was in great condition, and I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout my stay. The restaurants offered delicious, beautifully presented meals, and the dining experience was consistently enjoyable.
A special mention goes to my personal concierge, César, who went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. His excellent communication and attentive service made my stay even more pleasant.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on my side during my visit — Storm Melissa brought rain almost every day. Still, the hotel staff did their best to make sure guests remained comfortable and entertained despite the conditions.
The only downside of my stay was the time spent at the breakfast timeshare invitation. I’ve never been interested in timeshares, and I would have preferred not to spend part of my trip on that.

This resort was amazing the room upgrade was also phenomenal. The only thing that I did not personally like was that we were promised an exclusive breakfast the morning after and we were really excited, only to be brought to the buffet and spoken about getting a timeshare. We received listened to the 40 minute time share presentation so we could get 2 comp spa passes but other than that everything was pretty amazing. Cesar was super attentive.

Had to change room three times. First room had no working AC. We reported the issue in the morning and we returned to our hotel room at night it wasn’t fixed. They put us in the room with twin beds after we confirmed king size. We had to pack our luggage and go down stairs to lobby only to be back on the third floor right next to our old room. Supervisor was never available. At multiple requests to speak to supervisor we were told to come back in 30 mins but no success. Concierge offered complementary massage for our troubles but never scheduled/informed us of scheduled time after reaching out to him.

The female staff at the resort (majority) are very rude. They roll their eyes and stare at you in an awkward way. I had a great experience with check-in, but after that it ALL went down hill from there. The food was not good at all and they served the same meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They build the meals based off of European culture and water down the Dominican culture. The food is not authentic Dominican food.

We had a good stay at Grand Palladium. Our room was clean and the maid came everyday while we were out. We ate at an a la cart restaurant almost every night. Rafael our concierge was very helpful in booking our dinner reservations and even included my sisters family in our reservations. He made sure our rooms got decorated for the birthday and anniversary we were celebrating. He check on us everyday to make sure we had everything we needed.

Cesar started our vacation off right with excellent service. Francisco helped with our excursions and explained everything. Tony from the El Dorado went above and beyond for me the night we ate dinner there. Francel at the front valet area was excellent and helped with all transportation even while on the resort. And our favorite, Gerson the pool bartender at the Palace, really made this an exceptional experience. He remembered our drinks from the first day (we do tip) and his personality is very warm and welcoming. I will never forget our favorite bartender, even got a picture with him. The overall experience was incredible!!

Resort stay was good, came when resort was under going renovations, so alot of restaurants were closed. We had a concierge name Rafael who helped us greatly with making reservations without him we probably wouldn’t be able to book anything for dinner which means only buffet options were availabile. Definitely need more food options.

Property is pretty lots of walking room and space for the amount of people here. Casino is not ideal for casino enthusiasts. Very small.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had evening staff Maribel as our waitress she was always going the extra mile and attentive. She made us fresh espresso!

Beach vendors were a little more aggressive than Mexico. But was nice to have shaded areas to sit. So that was relieving. Not. Lot of guests or staff were smiling, maybe the heat?

I did realize during the trip resort style is not for me. Brought $400 in cash and basically went to tips. We didn’t the property since we were kind of discouraged from the beach incidents. Definitely good for families though! I would say a weekend here was a good enough stay anything longer not a great idea. Room was great!! Spacious and room service on point! Get to buffet style areas early for fresh cold options.

Had a great time with family on our trip. Rafael made sure we had our dinner reservations and even had my mom's room decorated for her birthday. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay.
I disliked the constant vendors on the property and the beach. While I understand they have a job to do, it's really disruptive to a person's vacation to constantly be hounded for the spa, excursions and even the \"we're not a timeshare\" travel club membership. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Place was clean and most staff were friendly and attentive. There is a language barrier if you dont understand/speak Spanish, but can still convey what your needs are overtime. Not much entertainment at the poolside and not much in variety of music. Overall good place for vacationing

Our stay was excellent, only exception was waiting on transportation to get to restaurants. We waited a long time and some nights had to walk in heavy rain after no one showed up for over a half hour.

Some additional night life / entertainment options would also be an improvement.
