Pros:
- Big pool and amazing beach with good amount of seating. We didn’t have a problem finding chairs after looking for a few mins.
- Most of the staff was friendly and helpful
- Room was big and a good layout
- Train/tram to take guests around the hotel was running often and we could usually get on it. Only crowded sometimes so we’d just walk but as big as the hotel seems, it’s very walkable and you can get from the furthest point in under 15 mins.

Cons:
- Room could have been cleaner. The floors weren’t that clean, linens and towels weren’t the cleanest and a little dingy. One of our sinks had little flies living in it and they’d sit there all day. At least 5 flies at any given time in the bathroom.
- Our mini fridge didn’t work and we had to call over 5 times to finally have it fixed so the first 2 days we didn’t have cold drinks in the room and it was so hot outside.
- Food was not very good. The buffet food was mediocre and the specialty restaurants weren’t much better. The Gaucho steakhouse was the best meal we had of all.
- The Vacation Rentals staff scamming guests into a “90 mins presentation” was extremely annoying. Our 3-day vacation was almost ruined because of it. Be aware and decline the offer for “a nice breakfast with a presentation and welcome gift” unless you want to sit through a 3-hour sales pitch for a vacation membership.

My boyfriend and I just got back from celebrating his 36th birthday and we had such a great time. I recommend spending the extra $$ and staying in the platinum side of the resort because the perks were great. Expedia has great bundles for this ! Resort was super clean, staff does a great job at keeping the property nice. Everyone's super helpful. It was walking distance from the clubs / excursions. At check-IN ask someone for help finding a trusted taxi driver you can contact during stay. We used 'Punta Cana Airport Transfers VIP\" for airport pick up 10/10. Search Chat GPT. The SPA has a pretty good gym with solid equipment. Lastly, the food is mid but we know what to expect at all inclusive's, still solid for what they did have, just have to find what you like.

This hotel or resort is not for you, if you don’t like to walk. This property is very big and they have no elevator so if you not a person who don’t like stair don’t go. The property is very beautiful but the stay is not the best. There was no ac in the rooms , restaurant and anywhere else. I don’t care for the house keeping service for this property because they had no cleaning supplies. They are no do not disturb sign either, so we were interrupted every day as guest. Also, they have mosquitoes or nets bad. The WIFI is horrible for free, if you want better service you have to pay. I was not pleased with the food but if you have opened minded to food you could love it. It’s beautiful and that’s it. Hope this helps someone.

This resort is for families and learn some Spanish before you go. It is clean and beautiful rooms depending on where you stay you will have to ride to the beach and there is no one organizing the passages. People were rude and we had to wait 3 times to get a seat to ride back to our room. The pool area there were a lot of empty cups and most of the time there was only one person working at counters.

I really enjoyed the benefits for the platinum guest, so I would definite recommend that option. The different type of restaurants available for dinner was great and even the general dining area had vast variety of food for even the pickiest of eaters. The service and the warm, friendly greeting of the staff wherever you go made the stay most enjoyable.

As an American with no Spanish speaking your a little left out in the culture there but hey we made the best of it I’d bring a speaker to play ur own music on the beach great service in the Italian restaurant near the lobby! We also ate at the steak house, waiter was excellent as well. We didn’t like the pool by the beach they kinda seemed to dote on more of their kind so go to the kids bar it’s to the right, that bar tender was B/A he’s so cool even let us choose a song or two from his phone and it’s much more cooler underneath the tiki umbrellas! Food trucks were decent they do have golf carts that pick you up it takes 5 mins or so from beach to lobby people are super pushy 6-10pm so beware. 24/7 pub has excellent staff very very air conditioned and can watch sports, lobby bar had excellent service. Go to the gift shop they are so so much cheaper then beach or around the resort don’t get conned. Check in and check out staff were excellent as well

My stay at Grand Bavaro Princess was mixed overall.

The resort grounds are beautiful, and the beach area is one of the highlights of the property. The rooms were clean, and some staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

However, the facilities are showing their age and could benefit from significant updates. Many areas of the resort feel outdated compared to other resorts in the same category.

The biggest disappointment was the level of service. While a few employees went above and beyond, the majority of the staff seemed uninterested in helping guests. Simple requests often felt like an inconvenience, and interactions were frequently lacking warmth or hospitality. On several occasions, it appeared that staff attitudes changed depending on whether a tip was given, and some employees seemed visibly frustrated when guests did not tip. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere that detracted from what should have been a relaxing vacation.

Overall, the resort has potential thanks to its location, beach, and beautiful grounds, but improvements to the facilities and, more importantly, customer service would greatly enhance the guest experience. Based on my experience, I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars.

Grand Bavaro Princess is a very nice and large resort with plenty of restaurants and food choices. The staff is friendly and provides good service throughout the property.

I am on vacation to relax, and I have no interest in sitting through marketing pitches or listening to advertisements. Guests should be able to enjoy their vacation without feeling pressured or interrupted.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed. However, the bath towels are old, worn out, and should be replaced with newer ones.
Overall, I had a good stay and would recommend the resort for its beautiful property, variety of dining options, and friendly staff. A few improvements in guest experience and towel quality would make the resort even better.

I had a great stay overall. The entertainment was enjoyable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The food was okay nothing exceptional, but still satisfactory. The main downside was the number of mosquitoes around the property, so I would recommend bringing insect repellent or mosquito spray. Other than that, we had a pleasant experience and enjoyed our stay.

I liked the trolly transportation tgat took you to the various sites on the resort, that was a plus. I did not like however, the moldy smell in the room. When I complain they quickly placed a dehumidifier in the room which helped a lot but I had to empty the water when it was filled and it didn’t entirely remove the odor.
Also I complained about being bitten by mosquitoes IN THE ROOM. They told me they would spray it. Don’t know if they did but we had mosquito bites in the room each day we stayed there. That was not acceptable.

The Buffett by the lobby had polite employees, the Buffett by the beach was not the best in food and employees.
With exception of 3 or 4 waiters he rest were rude.

The maid assigned to my room was very polite.
The facilities were not very clean and my room had a leak which was not fixed by the time I left.

This was our third time at Grand Bavaro Princess and this time we went there as a family with our young daughter. The property is beautiful. The nature and beauty of the place is unbeatable. In terms of food, there seems to be lots of options but it does get very repetitive. Unfortunately my husband and daughter had food poisoning on the 3rd day of our stay and that pretty much ruined the rest of the holiday. It was also difficult trying to get them some bland food to the room. I wanted to take plain rice to the room and the restaurant made it a big deal saying that they usually do not allow food to be taken away. I explained that my husband and daughter are sick with food poisoning and what do they expect me to do. After this I was reluctantly given a container to take back some rice. The language barrier doesn't help either! However, as I said, the property itself is absolutely beautiful. The rooms need some updates and better cleaning but once you step outside it is gorgeous.

I ENJOY THE TRIP OT THE HOTEL THE ISSUE THAT I HAD WAS THE ROOM ALWAYS SMELLED LIKE SEA AND POOL WATER NO MATTER HOW MUCH FRESHENERS I PUT IN STILL THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO THE FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NOT NON PORK VERIETY. I UNDERSTAND THAT ITS A FAMOUS MEET OVER THERE BUT MEAT AND CHICKEN NEED TO BE A BIT THE SAME AMOUNT IF NOT MORE. ALSO THE JUICES WERE FRESH BUT THE COKE AND OTHER DRINKS HAD NO SODA A COUPLE OF FLAWS BUT I LIKE THE EXPERIANCE OVER ALL.

Pictures of the room is what had me. Unfortunately that was not the case when I got there. There was a smell of stale water in the air, gnats, in room. Housekeeping forgot to stock my bathroom amenities, no comforter on bed, water was cold for bath. No WiFi internet was horrible and all the good restaurants have you make reservations to eat, not good. Do not go if you’re looking to kick back and get work done and need internet. I don’t like to complain, but this spot was not for me. They do have a nice pool area for the children if you’re traveling with the kiddos. They have a nature trail for the morning walks. Huge property beautiful scenery. If you want to be off the grid you should visit.

It's an overall very nice resort. My only issue was with some of the staff members. One guy who work in guest service saw me approaching for him to stop me to say \" My shift is over. I am going home\", needless to say it was in a very rude manner. The other one was a guy working in ckech in. This was on May 21nd around 8pm. I approched him saying excuse me for him to cut me saying \" i cant talk to you now. I am working with those people\". He pointed to a couple sitting in a chair. Bit overall the resort is clean and the food is not bad.

Food poisoning wasn't one of the things I had on my Bingo card, but it happened to both of us. Our neighbors argued day and night screaming, yelling, and throwing things! I called security and no one came. The water smelt like sewage and my platinum suite was very musty smelling. The high pressure sales pitch for a time share AKA their \"Welcome Package\" was NOT fun at all! It was defiantly an adventure! Safe to say I will never return to Punta Cana.

I would like to give this a good review because the pools and beaches were amazing but I can’t because the room was dirty with brown spots everywhere, there was a roach outside our door so I’m thinking roach feces, the room smelled like mold and mildew and we were eaten by mosquitoes while sleeping. The food at most the restaurants was terrible, including the food trucks. My wife survived off the breakfast buffet which was great. I became terribly sick with food poisoning the day before leaving (no I didn’t drink the water) and it lasted 6 days total. That wasn’t the worst of it though.. the people and staff relentlessly try to sell you things, they don’t let you relax, they will wake you up if you are sitting in a beach chair, they will stop you while you are walking to the pool, beach, restaurants and anywhere else. If you weren’t in the pool or in the ocean someone was trying to sell you something. The same guy would stop us every morning on the way to breakfast trying to convince us to hear his pitch on an investment opportunity. Safe to say we won’t be returning, which does suck because the scenery, ocean and pools were great.

We got our room at 3:15 pm and when we walked into our room, there was absolutely nothing in the fridge. No water beer pop nothing. No towels no bed sheets or pillows. Not a great start to a checkin at a 5 star resort.
After calling numerous times I could not reach anyone on any of the phone lines. It just rang. No one answered. Luckily upon arrival I met a nice worker named Braulio. He had given me his WhatsApp contact if I ever needed any assistance. So I had to message him. After a few hours we ended up getting everything they lacked to give us when we checked in. After travelling all night and all day, all we wanted was some water and a shower and without a stocked minifridge or towels we were unable to do that. Things did turn around though and did get better but I do not consider this a 5 star resort strictly because of this then to get a call days later saying if my claims were to check out I’d be compensated.
I’m not looking for any compensation nor did I receive any and the fact that nothing was in our room upon check-in and for them to say that my claims were to check out? Not impressed.
But things did get better. There was only one other day that our fridge wasn’t stocked. The cleaners were very, very nice and helpful. I did go out to one of the restaurants though and received a very, very disgusting glass of water. When I told them about it, they took it away and never did bring me back another one. It was a nice resort, but I won’t stay with Princess again.

Only problem was we tried 3 different rooms upon arrival because the ac wasn’t working but they were very willing and helpful. Also, the restaurant reservation system is wonky, but again, they were very helpful and booked them for us. Staff was amazing. Daily pool activities, lovely bartenders, really fun. Bring bug repellents.

I came to this resort on a solo trip, and on my second day decided to try room service. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and only ate about 1/3 because the taste seemed off. About an hour later I became violently ill for 8-9 hours straight.

I tried repeatedly to call the front desk for help, but none of the buttons on the room phone worked. Every attempt just resulted in “beep beep beep.” My mother in Canada tried calling 3 different resort numbers and only reached a call centre that failed to connect her and even hung up on her once.

To make matters worse, my room had no functioning air conditioning, the minibar advertised as stocked was empty and not working, and my patio door would not lock. I only had 2 warm bottles of water while severely dehydrated. None of these issues were fixed until the morning I checked out.

I eventually began vomiting blood, fainted, lost the ability to walk, and had to call 911 myself. When the ambulance arrived, the resort initially sent it away. About 1.5 hours later, manager Freddy came to my room and told me “I don’t need an ambulance.” The resort doctor immediately disagreed and sent me to the hospital, where I was admitted for 3 days.

After returning, I was told I “came here with the illness,” that the resort “doesn’t do compensation,” and despite promising help through Expedia, nothing meaningful was done. Even the “free” late checkout I was offered ended up costing me $25.

What a lovely property and the people are amazing! We will look forward to going back again. The a/c in the rooms needs attention. There also needs to be a/c in the restaurants especially the signature building in the middle of the lake.

Overall I did receive a clean and well maintained room. However, I did struggle with a lot of mosquitoes and needed to call staff multiple times to fumigate the room. Most staff were nice however some when asking for fumigation it did take a lot longer and had to wait for hours.

Also when booking with guest services initially the staff mixed up our reservations and we were stranded on the second night without dinner reservations. The Indian restaurant manager at the time was very rude and did not want to understand our situation and how the guest service made the mistake. We ended up going back to guest services and the lady there that night was very helpful and made multiple attempts and was finally able to get us in one of the other spots.

Starting off with the rooms they are very nice but the air doesn’t work (we brought our own fan thank god), the mini bar isn’t cold, balcony doesn’t lock, housekeeping will knock on your door and try and open it at 6-8 every day (even if the do not disturb sign is out), we spilled something on our sheet so I put it in the corner for housekeeping they put it back on the bed two days in a row, and we lifted up the couch cushions and there was bathing suit bottoms and a hair brush that didn’t belong to us….

Next starting with the food it was not good by any means. One all the drinks they have is coke, sprite, water, and alcohol. There was multiple nights we had made dinner reservations and ended up going to the buffet after because the food was so bad. The only restaurant we liked was the steakhouse and the pizzeria. If you have any allergies with food I do NOT recommend here the cross contamination is horrible.

Next staff it was very hard to understand everyone at the entire resort.

For excursions if you book with the resort, do not pay the full price we went in there twice and they gave us multiple different numbers.
They can give up to 20% off.

Even though the peacocks are beautiful, they are very annoying and they are very loud. They are worse than roosters…

If you would like an enjoyable day on the beach, sit very far back from the ocean. Every five minutes there will be at least eight people coming up to try and sell you something.
