Overall, my stay was pleasant. The staff was attentive, and the customer service was top-tier. Even though there was sometimes a language barrier, the staff still did a great job communicating and making guests feel welcomed.

There were a lot of food options to choose from, and the drinks were well balanced. The buffet food was okay, but I found the restaurants to be much better and would recommend making reservations there when possible.

The resort has trolleys that drive around every 5–10 minutes, which is convenient. However, they can sometimes fill up quickly. I personally found it easier to walk to most places rather than wait for the trolley.

One thing to expect is a delay during check-in. Because so many people arrive at once, the line can take around 30 minutes or more. The staff does move as quickly as they can, but it’s something to be prepared for.

My only issue was the cleanliness of the room when I first arrived. However, when I reported it, housekeeping addressed the issue immediately, which I appreciated.

I would also recommend bringing U.S. dollars, as they tend to have more value and are easier to use than pesos in many situations.

Overall, I would rate my experience 8 out of 10. I would return to the resort area again, though I might try a different resort next time.

Beach was great, Expedia’s booked room was for ocean view, property does not have ocean view. Housekeeping keeps forgetting towels. Room smelled like heavy bug spray upon arrival. Front desk did not respond at night. Lack of music around pool. Lack of communication for activities. Food was good, not authentic.

I paid for the platinum honeymoon package. When i got there, they charged me the full price AGAIN for my wife! They said it was because i had an “extra person” with me. It’s a HONEYMOON! That means 2 people! Who goes on a honeymoon alone! Then, while we were there, housekeeping left our room door open with all our stuff inside. After talking with security, they conveniently blamed us. The room had a round bed, which sucks if you’re 6ft 2” tall. There was a TV in the bedroom, but nothing in the living area, which felt odd.

Beach fantastic—but reserve umbrella chaise lounges with pool towels before 8:00AM. Grounds wonderful. Architecture classy. Room solid. Food mediocre to suck. Juice watered down. \"Coke\" watered down. Drinks watered down. Weird corn kernel \"pizza\" had no tomato sauce. Steak cheap. Ribs strange. Wine bitter. Got either food poisoned or water poisoned—three days of diarrhea. Latin dance nights in courtyard fun. Lounge singer good. Karaoke OK. Michael Jackson show OK. Circus show OK. White Dance Party OK. Silent Disco OK. Stay was soured by greedy, scamming management: I paid the price on Expedia for two guests, but accidentally only booked for one, and front desk refused to approve an obviously simple mistake and insisted on charging an extra $1,020 for 5 nights for my wife—who had already been paid for. They won't screw you over if they can't, of course, but if they can, they will. It's so bad, mgmt must get a cut for squeezing guests for extra. Made my case three separate times to three separate employees; each time they went in the back room and pretended to talk with manager. Came back with lame excuses I had to laugh. Expedia chatbot guys from India were no help: \"We can't overrule resort policy.\" My fault for bad booking; their fault for not cutting any slack. Don't make same mistake cuz it'll ruin your faith in humanity—not to mention your vacation.

Overall i give this a solid 4 star. The beach and location were 5 star but food was just so so and like most all inclusive the alcohol was bottom shelf. The buffets didn’t have a ton of selection but rather the same foods over and over in different sections. The sit down restaurants were actually pretty good. We love the Italian(not referring to the pizza place Focacia) along with the Indian cuisine was really good. They also have a Cafe that does espresso that was great and they had awesome crepes and waffles there. Additionally by the food trucks each day they did more of an authentic Dominican meal options that was made fresh and it was always one of my favorites. The staff for the most part were really good with only a few that weren’t great. The resort itself was really nice, nice finishes and ambiance and i understand being on the ocean and with the high humidity its hard to keep things up but there could be a bit more attention to detail in the painting of the rooms and cleaning. Again overall it’s a solid 4 stars and i find it very difficult to give a 5 star to any resort or hotel. My wife and enjoyed our stay and would go back especially when you look at the cost compared to other resorts.

First the bad. The main restaurants reservations availability is lacking. They need add more availability. The 24/7 bar food is not the best and should at a minimum include pizza. The Ice Cream shop is only open from like 6 pm to 10 pm...But the Ice Cream is fantastic. Now the good. The property is amazing, the staff are fantastic and are very friendly. The food at the main restaurants is fantastic!! The food at the food trucks is very good. And of course the drinks are off the hook!!! The grounds crew are simply amazing, they keep the property sooo clean. We will be back

The view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful — the beach and pool area were amazing and definitely the best part of the stay. However, the hotel could really improve in a few areas. The cleanliness wasn’t great, the service was lacking, and unfortunately the food was not good. With better attention to these things, the experience could be much better.

While there were a few lovely staff members, the staff in general were unfriendly and unhelpful.
Very family friendly for young children.
The use of the tennis courts and pool table are an extra charge which can add up quickly if you have active teenagers.
Food was adequate, nothing exemplary or notable. Subpar compared to other all inclusive brands.

The property, the staff, the food, were all great! It's quite big and they offer train carts to get around(they go in a loop).

There is a lot of wildlife, like peacocks,ducks, and turtles for example. The have a beautiful mamgrove with a path, so that you can walk through.

If you are looking for a more quiet and relaxed vibe, this is the place for you.

There are activities during the day, either at the pool or the beach depending on the time of the day. And in the evenings there is entertainment near the main lobby.

We stayed in the Platinum Club area and really enoyed it. PBG (Platinum Beach Grill) was very good.

I went with 4 other people and we all enjoyed the food at all of the restaurants we went to. The Indian and Mexican restaurants were favorites but the buffets and food trucks were decent as well.

The drinks from the Platinum bars were amazing, all the other bars were hit or miss.

The beautiful water fountain is a great addition to the esthetics.

Overall enjoyed the stay, would come back... After all, this is my second time here !

A/C did not work when checking in. Had 3 or 4 trips to fix it in a week. The last two nights every 20 minutes had to manually turn it on when room got too hot and off when it got too cold. Not great for a night's sleep.

The floor of the ground floor room was an ant farm.

Rooms were noisy - clomping elephant in the room above.

\"Train\" required to get around huge area. Sometimes long waits with a full train showing up so wait for next. Sometimes two came at the same time, the front one full, the back one empty.

The Salsa Dance outside the lobby in the evenings was far too loud, you could hear it down at the beach. Impossible to have any kind of conversation in the area.

The big issue was the A/C, either not working, never shutting off the cooling making the room freezing cold (and not being able to turn it off), or manually cycling it on and off. All different after each service visit.

I won' be returning. Ever. Going back to the Majestic resorts.

We were able to stay at the resort for six days at the end of February and had a very relaxing and joyful time. The best part of the resort easily is the smooth white sanded beach and warm clear water. Overall the food is very good for a resort though. We did experience some wait times booking dinners after 8 PM compared to booking dinners earlier at 6 PM. The 24 hour bar and breakfast buffet were good. Italian and sushi restaurants are fantastic. Steakhouse was okay.

Entertainment on resort was disappointing. It’s fine for an older family but people in their 20s looking to party, may want to consider somewhere else.

The peacocks are everywhere and funny to walk by. They will wake you up in the morning.

We had a wonderful stay and the resort was amazing. Would definitely recommend. Eric from Guest Services and Dalvin from Animation were incredible, super friendly, helpful, and truly made our trip. They helped with reservations and entertainment and always brought great energy and humor. There was so much to do every day, from karaoke and night parties to great à la carte dining and beautiful beach sunsets. 10/10 experience.

We stayed at Grand Bavaro Princess for a week. To start with the positives, the property is visually beautiful. The landscaping and restaurant interiors are well designed, and the à la carte options, especially the hibachi and Il Tartufo, were solid. Some staff members were genuinely kind, most of the parties were fun, and the coffee was surprisingly great.

Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed everything. Our room had a strong mold smell and a large dehumidifier that filled with water every 45-60 minutes, which we had to manually empty ourselves or it would shut off. Instead of switching rooms they just sent someone to spray and cover the smell. After seven days, both of us had headaches, coughs, and itchy eyes, and all of our clothes smelled like mold at the airport. The bathroom drains smelled like sulfur, mosquitoes were constant, and housekeeping skipped days. The pool water was cloudy with debris, umbrellas were limited, and beach vendors would not leave you alone. Worst part is the st even hotel staff repeatedly pressured us to attend a membership presentation and would not take no for an answer. For the price, it felt very overpriced and we would not return. Lastly, food was mediocre, tasteless, one time I ate packaging paper that was mixed in a vegetable dish. Stay at your own risk.

I originally checked into 1602 however the room was not in the best conditions and the front desk moved me without any questions. New room was much better. Buffet food was standard for an all inclusive resort and drinks are made with very cheap liquor but learned to ask for my drinks with Brugal which made a huge difference. I would not recommend staying here. There is absolutely no entertainment, the drinks are watered down, I found cockroaches in my room, the food is subpar, and I got catcalled by almost every male worker that worked there. The only thing good I would have to say about this resort is the grounds are well kept. Overall, I felt very unsafe travelling around this resort as a female, and was bored most of my trip.

Overall resort is very nice and stand alone restaurants were excellent but dissatisfied with the following: placed in 2nd to last row of huge resort (over a half mile walk to the beach); toilet did not flush the entire stay (extreme inconvenience), maintenance came 2 of the 3 days to use plungger (though there was nothing but a single piece of toilet paper in the toilet), internal workings of toilet obviously need replaced; resort refused to leave plunger; though I had do not disturb sign on door, someone from hotel knocked once and simultaneously opened room door at 7:30 am. on 1st morning there;

Upon arrival, there was a smell in the room and then paint seemed to try to hide real problem(mold) or sewage issues.
Everytime we showered we smelled the same nasty smell, like it was coming out the pipe. Looks like pipes are outside the rooms which could be the smell. Not sure. ..
Phone not working, when it rang on the one day no one answered. Had to keep walking to lobby 15 mins away from room walking.
App down 2 days, missed 2 days of booking a restaurant which was the best edible thing on the resort.
Poor customer service, only people who like their jobs are front desk and maybe entertainment group.
Better WiFi you have to pay premium. Free WiFi is trash.
Trains driving fast, saw an older lady talk to the driver about his speed. They could accidentally hit small child or peacocks on the resort!
4-5 hr speech on vacation club. I tried to be nice and give an hour of my time, ended up missing the sun that day smh! Speech was 4 hours! Told us no money was needed so we stayed and the end tell us different amounts we can pay to become members. Pissed me off this day, came to breakfast with my bf and I too. We did not ask for the extra guest.
Buffet food mid and was ants in my boyfriend’s drink! Last time we went to the buffet, and was there for 5 days!
Entertainment? Definitely geared towards children and dancing at night but that’s it. Would recommend this place for a traveling family first trip not a seasoned traveler like myself!

We stayed here starting February 19 and booked three rooms for our family. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
Our room was not properly cleaned and had hair in the shower. My mom’s towel had dried blood on it, and although she reported it the first day, management was never notified. My sister’s room smelled strongly of mold and had a large dehumidifier that hadn’t been emptied. There were mosquitoes in all the rooms, and every time we used the sink the water smelled like sewage.
Service was inconsistent — some employees were rude and overall the care of the property felt below standard. The pools were also not well maintained.
We did have a pleasant check-in experience, and a couple of waiters were very kind, but that was not enough to make up for the overall condition of the hotel.
We reported our concerns during the stay, and when we followed up with management, we were told nothing could be done.
Overall, this felt more like a 2-star experience. We would not return.

We absolutely felt totally neglected on our trip to this resort. Our trip started off okay until we felt bombarded with opportunities to purchase time shares. And then after two days I fell ill overnight and awaken early morning to completed sickness. Vomiting and you know what else all day! Unbelievable nausea all day I couldn’t believe how sick I was and then my husband fell ill the very next day! I don’t know if it was the food or what but something at the resort led to us getting sick. So we lost two days of our vacation! On top of that, the first day I fell ill, I didn’t want house keeping coming in right away so after I started to gain energy and seemed like I was no longer sick, I had to call down and request a restock of towels and all room essentials which were never brought to us. Then I went down to the front desk and actually requested someone come at which guest services called while I was standing there and nobody came to our room! I wasn’t until mid evening Sunday when I had to flag down a worker and beg for room essentials! Other than the beach, being away from home and enjoying the sun, I would never come back here! I don’t know if I’ll ever come back to the country after my experience! At checkout , I explained I didn’t have a great stay and to smooth over my experience, all the worker said was “see you next week”. I don’t recommend this place just based off my own experience and everyone is entitled to their own opinions about their stay!

Our room smelled like mildew, it had no hot water in the shower, the tub leaked and the telephone didn't work. We went for dinner came back and our room door was wide open and someone went through my husband bag (good thing we had our valuables with us). Don't use the safe any code opens it. The concierge only wanted to sell us a time share and said he would book all our reservations for dinner. He said he was booking us at the Italian restaurant but he booked us at a pizza restaurant and called it Italian. Book your own reservations. We couldn't get a new room until after 3p the next day.

After 2 nights being woken in the middle of the night by animals crawling and scraping the return vent in the ceiling for hours on end we moved rooms. Both rooms were on the 3rd floor with no elevators.
The layout of the complex is sus or so new prepared for a great deal of waking. They do offer a team that does laps around the complex so that helps. The team takes longer than waking so that's up to you.
The buffet was not good at all. Lacked flavor and zero creativity. The same exact thing every day. That was a huge disappointment.
The only good food was the reservation dining.
I've been to a dozen all inclusive resorts and this was by far the worst one.
It's a solid 3 start resort. Staff was really friendly, housekeeping did great. It just didn't have any extra wow effect in any category.

The staff was beyond rude. The cleaning service sucked, always forgetting to bring us new fresh towels. There were live and dead bugs on the walls, the floor, and the curtains to the balcony door. The food was absolutely horrible, all of the restaurants require reservations for dinner with only one restaurant open for buffet at night. Which was terrible. We skipped breakfast and lunch every day because we couldn’t bear to eat that food. When it came to dinner since everything was so bad and we were starving from not eating all day, we actually had to order food to the resort, 3/5 nights we did this. Drinks also tasted so fake and like nothing. This place is a huge rip off and no one should waste their time or money on this place especially if they’re trying to have a good time and enjoy themselves.

We stayed at the Grand Bávaro Princess for 10 days, and in our opinion this is not a true 5-star resort. It feels closer to a 3.5-star property, but the bigger issue is that it’s marketed and priced as a premium 5-star all-inclusive while delivering a mid-range experience. Many of the amenities listed online were either unavailable, not functioning, or came with extra charges, which created a clear gap between expectations and reality. Customer service was inconsistent and often felt tip-dependent, especially at the bars. Without tipping first, even simple drink requests could take a long time. Premium liquor brands were not available unless you were a Platinum member, and the standard selection was very basic, with only one type of beer across the resort. The room had a strong musty smell, visible mold in the bathroom, and felt worn. Housekeeping replaced sheets regularly, but the minibar and bottled water were only restocked once in 10 days, despite signs warning guests not to drink tap water. Wi-Fi was unreliable, even after paying for the premium option. Out of eight restaurants, only four felt close to a decent 4-star standard. The buffet was acceptable, but repetitive. Several advertised activities were missing, and evening entertainment lacked variety. The beach itself is nice, but there were few activities and constant vendors. Overall, the resort may suit budget travelers, but if you expect true 5-star service, premium drinks, and consistent quality, this is not it!

I was moved to two different rooms from how dirty they were! Including a live Lizard in the bedroom. Service was very poorly done and any requests we made were never received or acknowledged from there service staff, we were in the resort for 4 nights and we never had a sheet changed or any service done!! It was very sad that we traveled to another country just to receive such horrible service!!!! Never visiting this place again!!!! Or will recommend it to anyone !!!!!

Let me say that this review space is not enough for me to paint a clear picture of our stay here. TLDR; stay somewhere else if you expect a 5 star resort as advertised.

The sun, sand, sky, and sea are beautiful here, a d the wild life is pretty cool. We had one server that was amazing, but the good stops there.

The room was neglected: AC wasn’t working, reported it three times nothing was done, the toilet seat was broken, the shower would start running any time our neighbors were showering. There was mold on the sofa. Only a singular sheet to sleep with. The sinks in the bathroom smelled like sewage.

The pools were beautiful, at first. But the water was cloudy, lots of debris and trash in the water, and the water actually ruins our bathing suits - they were stained green. As a matter of fact, I have very light skin and my skin was tinged green also.

The food was awful. Like really really awful. There were tons of food safety violations: cold food was hot, hot food wasn’t hot, workers would touch their phones with gloves hands on and then touched the food with the gloves.

The staff was so rude, and hardly any of them spoke English, which is fine, as I speak a little Spanish and why should they have to speak any other language than Spanish. However, every single person from the receptionist to the bellman to the bartenders were absolutely awful. We only had one server who was nice and we kept going back to his section every day.

Room had not pillow and blankets for the 3rd person. Very damp. Bed sheets felt humid and towels wouldn't dry. Musty smell in the room. 2 people out of 3 were sick on the third day. Ground, beach and ocean were very nice and staff are very helpful and polite.

Resort was beautiful and there were a lot of restaurants but our room had no hot water in the shower and we asked 4 times for it to be fixed annd it never was. the food was just ok. The breakfast buffet and hibachi were the best meals. The entertainment staff was kind of lack luster, some of them looked like they didn’t wanted to be there at all.

What a honeymoon!

We loved the Grand Bavaro Princess, it was clean, with beautiful gardens, a great beach and wonderful pools.

The food was incredible, especially in the resorts 9 à la carte restaurants. The only thing that was better than the food was the staff in the resort who were kind, polite and very entertaining.

We upgraded to platinum which I think is a must for anyone looking for a quieter, romantic getaway. The standard access to the resort would be ideal for families.

Looking forward to going again next year!
