Really good Spa please go for a massage, rooms very very clean and comfortable (great job housekeeping) entertainment team average, service in restaurant and buffet Server's are amazing they tried but just can keep up with the volume need a lot more people to help, having the F&B director cleaning tables NO a good look and the food it's ok if you're very hungry
Plenty chairs at the pool and beach and I loved the amount of towels!!!! Never ran out of clean towels

The room, hotel, swimming pool areas were really clean. The housekeeping made swan origami from towels and decorated them with flowers-very welcoming and memorable touch! Bathroom had very loose outlet falling out of its place. In general stuff was very friendly and pleasant. We stayed at the end of January- luckily, our beach area was free of seaweed while nearby resorts had quite noticeable seaweed.
Beach service was very poor- for hours no one came to ask if we would line anything-really not a big deal for us as we just walked to get a drink if we had to. The young bartender at the area of drinks (not at members bar) in general area at the beach could have been more respectful to the guests.
The food was not good compared to a few years ago. Breakfast was fine. For dinner: steaks grilled upfront of guests were really tough and for the fish there was salmon and tilapia; other dinner dishes just did not taste good.

This is my third visit to punta Cana and I don’t usually do reviews. my least favorite experience this far when we arrived the staff that checked us in told us it would be 40 minutes for our room to be ready me and my partner went and grabbed lunch and returned back to the front desk she had left and the person we spoke to told us another hour we asked for a room on the top floor and we get a room on the first floor upon arrival the room had an unpleasant odor and looked outdated so they brought us upstairs to the new room upon arrival the room floor was filled with water we tried to book the French restaurant and Mexican and it was booked throughout our stay the food was 6/10 and the bartenders next to the bar were rude the only positive feedback that I have is the beach was beautiful and the cleaners did a great job keeping the room clean and the servers at the restaurants and buffet would not recommend go where your money is valued

Very spacious resort, lots of amenities. Room key cards regularly deactivated, which is one of the reasons for the low rating. Whe showering the washroom gets soaked. Room was clean and spacious. The beach was nice and always enough sun loungers. Buffets were nice with a lot of variety. À la cartes were, just book early as th fill up quickly.

Pros:
(1) Clean room
(2) water filter available on each floor
(3) staff generally friendly
(4) close to the airport
(5) scenic property- tastefully decorated for the holidays
(6) nightly activities for guests and the activities for kids

Cons:
(1) limited dining - food is repetitive despite the marketing of several restaurants. Same food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, note restaurants close at different times
(2) staff a bit aggressive marketing the ‘membership’ - they wasted 4hrs of our day at the end to tell us the membership is 20k+ (usd) after promising it was only 90 mins. Language barrier also made communication difficult
(3) generally an environment of hustlers - hotel staff hustling guests for massages and to take the membership, peddlers on the beach and the lobby, persons begging for tips.
(4) hotel staff also very aggressive with compliments
(5) flies were very rampant on the beach restaurant
(6) no room service

I personally will never stay at an Iberostar resort again.

Overall, great experience. My husband and I were celebrating our 30 yr anniversary. From arriving to the resort, the staff was amazing and very accommodating and made our stay special. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Restaurants had a nice variety of foods. The nightly entertainment at the resort was a plus. We look forward to coming back in the future.

I had a fantastic experience staying at Iberostar Waves Dominicana. it was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The bed was super comfy. The location was perfect. We add access to the beach. The restaurants/buffet was delicious. A lot of options. Excellent customer service. The staff were very responsive, friendly, and helpful with local tips and recommendations. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. I felt very safe and welcoming. I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting DR and I hope to stay here again on my next trip!

The restaurants are rarely open and when they are they do not have the food on the menu. The rooms are outdated and falling apart. The sales people are the worst. During the day on the beach there are abput 20 people walking around trying to sell you stuff.

My recent stay at Iberostar was wonderful. I was celebrating my 40th birthday and originally booked Iberostar Waves Dominicana. When I checked in we were upgraded to Iberostar Waves Punta Cana. Both resorts are next to each other. All the staff I encountered were pleasant and friendly. We received great service at all the restaurants especially at their buffet, Higuey. The hotel grounds are beautiful, each day there are activities and entertainment shows at night. I would highly recommend either resort. From beginning to end it was a memorable and great trip.

I really enjoyed this resort. The staff was very friendly. The club had great music. The grounds were immaculate. The french restaurant was outstanding as well as the breakfast buffet. Had allot of issues with the key card to the room. The beach has ALLOT of seaweed. I didn't go into the ocean once. Overall I would still return.

As the property is what we expected as it looked like the pictures.despite their best efforts the food was terrible. Most of it wasn’t even edible. The fruits were the only decent thing on the menu. The restaurant offer somewhat edible food but it won’t satisfy you especially if you havnt eaten all day. Be sure to have that uber eats app ready if you plan to stay here. And the shampoo wasn’t good either. Feels like nothing was being washed

Hotel was clean and most of the staff were friendly Some were very pushy about attending a 90 minute presentation to sell you a membership.
Beach was horrible as there was seaweed everywhere.
Pools were clean but overcrowded.
Food was okay..Hard Rock Cafe was absolutely disgusting, my husband actually got sick.
Overall would recommend for the price.

Loved our stay & the property. Only downfall to our trip was the seaweed on the beach. Apparently August is when mass amounts of seaweed wash up to shore, so we didn't enjoy the ocean water as I had imagined. This is obviously not the resorts fault, just mother nature & a lack of knowledge on my part. The resort did their best to clean it up every morning running tractors to discard as much as they could. Not all resorts along the beach were doing this & we were very grateful for their efforts! Definitely looking forward to returning at a different time of year when the seaweed isn't taking over the shoreline.
The pool, the views, the staff & the excursions were all amazing!

The property entrance is shared by several other hotels, Iberostar group has like 4 different hotels in the same location. Some of the restaurants are accessible to guests from different hotels. The variety of food is great (asian, latin, french, italian, american/bar food) however; they love to nickel and dime you for things like steak and lobster (even as an all -inclusive these cost $25-$65 extra. The staff are very attentive and super friendly. One thing that I was hoping is for the waiters to come around the pool and serve us there. There is no service by the pool or by the beach, you have to walk to the nearest bar and get your drinks. They only have presidente beer as an offering in most of the bars. I called it Dictator beer. The rooms are showing their age, there is mold around the A/C vents in my room. Also the TV service is horrible at best. They offer over 100 channels of which only 30 or so are watchable. The rest are either no signal, or too pixelated. The best two restaurants La Sibila (French) and the Italian option are only with reservation, you can only do one reservation in each restaurant per each stay. Meaning you are not allowed to repeat any of the restaurants unless you are staying for more than 2 weeks. The service hours for the restaurants is also not the best. There're 30-45min gaps where there is no food around in any of the major buffets/restaurants. The food service also ends at 10:30pm on all restaurants. I wouldn't recommend this place

Cons: We felt that majority of the staff did not smile and was a little condescending. We noticed that in the morning the property felt like it was dirty in some areas. Food plates were left around the property from the night before. The tongs/utensiles to get food from the Buffett were very difficult to use. We did not get coffee and water service during the Buffett in a timely manner after asking for it several times. No US dollar ATM on property. Our concierge said they were only able to make one reservation per restaurant during our 7 day trip. We wanted to have Italian twice and we could not. They could use a swim up bar or another pool side bar. TV did not work. Third bed leg was broken. They fixed it but not really because it fell off again. There is no exception for kids club ages. Our 13 and 11 year old could not be together. The best part of the 11 year old club is as the trampoline in which it was broken. We got dropped off at the hotel 2 doors over after and excursion and the driver of one of the golf carts seemed irritated to drive us back to our location.
Pros: check in/check out was easy. Our concierge was always smiling and great! Cudos to Rosa! The woman that handled our excursions did a great job. Food was excellent. Pools were clean and nice. Activity’s and entertainment was good.

Upon check-in, our room keys were not working, requiring multiple trips to the front desk to resolve. Each time, only partial success was achieved, leading to repeated inconvenience.

Crucially, no introductory information about the hotel's facilities (e.g., buffet hours, amenity locations) was provided. We had to call the front desk for all basic details.

Many advertised facilities, including restaurants and the kids' play zone, consistently opened 15-20 minutes late. We recommend arriving 30 minutes after the stated opening time to avoid waiting.

While most staff were pleasant, some were unhelpful. A front desk employee named Reina (white shirt) notably became uncooperative and unhelpful after we declined her offer to attend a 'Star Member' conference.\"

The resort was lovely and beautiful! The food is Great (I only ate at the buffet). Beach was great. You have to get out there 8am to get a good sit, by 10am they are mostly all taken. There was seaweed on the beach and in the ocean, but it was not bad. It was just that time of year. Ones that work at the resort are friendly. After you get past the front registration lobby area, 85-90 percent of the staff speak 5-10 percent English. Just know the basics bc you are visiting a Spanish-speaking country. Don’t assume that people/everyone speak English. Learn the language, just the basics or use your translation app. I even thought about coming back but after water seeping through the walls in my room, near the bathroom. I asked the front desk woman that wore glasses (she was very nonchalant/noncompliant) for help with this issue. I reported it the following day (after I asked for help one time) and I wasn’t even offered another room, even though I didn’t ask (bc I thought someone was coming to fix it) ,I should have been offered another room and I had to spend the rest of my vacation with the walls leaking and the water on the floor. She assume the water was coming from my shower and it was not. I took pictures bc I slipped and almost fell. I hope they will listen to the next guest bc someone can/will hurt themselves.

The property was nice, some things needed attention like the bathrooms/shower our bathroom had a tub and it was dangerously getting in and out and the tub looked dirty all the time. I had booked transport services from the airport to the resort and back through Expedia. Unfortunately Expedia let us down on the return to the airport and we had to be out more money and book another company. Expedia knew our departure time and what time we were supposed to be at the airport and they were unable to provide the service that has been booked. That was very disappointing.

Beautiful property, well kept. We could not make key room cards work. We’d have to walk to the reception several times a day to remagnatize them. I even changed the room because it was too much and it was the same problem.
Lots of food but lots of it wasn’t good. If you’re a picky eater you may not like it but if food is down your priority list, then you’ll be fine, no way you’ll be hungry.
Beautiful beach. I would recommend if you’re not expecting anything hosh-posh.

This is advertised as a 5 star resort and it definitely does not meet 5 start standards. The food is mediocre, some of the staff are plain rude, not nearly as much \"poolside fun\" as other resorts we have visited. The coffee maker never worked in our room, and we requested a new one on the app and in person, but never got one. There were many times we could not get into restaurants and you could not make reservations in advance. The gym was nice and we didn't get to try out the spa because no reservations were available. They want you to use the app, but it does not work well.

Very confusing on the property lay out. The app often doesn't load and the layout maps do not work. Food is amazing if you love buffets and the sit down service is hard to get reservations for. The language barrier is of course expected however those in guest services and front deak operations should be better prepared to be bi lingual. The check in process was 45 mins once arriving at the counter. Our room was not available and we were offered a different option. The air-conditioning did not work from the first day and initially complaining i was told the whole building was out. Multiple trips to request service went unanswered. The day before leaving the front desk person said the answer i was givin was not correct and he would send someone. Needless to say that didnt happen and it remained broken and we had to leave the door open and the patio door open to get any cooling from the breeze. The entertainment was sub par and the only thing that made it entertaining was the included liquor. Spring breakers obviously just 18 and there drinking, pool volleyball was better entertainment. The weather was amazing and it made thr trip worth it over all. I was attempting for days before leaving to get details on thr resort for activities, menus, layout and found very little except the web sites trying to book you for a stay. Just expected more

The property was dated, but relatively clean. The air conditioner in our room was very loud, and we found a cockroach in there one night.
The pool and beach were extremely loud with all of the entertainment/activities (fitness classes, bingo, foam parties all at full blast).
The gym was the only very good thing about this resort. Modern, clean, and had everything we needed.
Our biggest issue with our stay was with the food, which was not good at all. We ended up moving to a different resort halfway through our stay because we couldnt find anything we wanted to eat.
Very greatful to Dahiana at the front desk, who helped us navigate our move to the Grand Bavaro, which was a much better experience.

The food was not good at all, the buffet was ok but the reservations to the other restaurants were pretty ba. Plates were served already and on the fridge. No fresh ingredients as very small portions. Food at the snack bar was old and dry. For the price that I paid was unacceptable.service is nice people are friendly but it was a poor experience!

It was a beautiful beautiful resort!! For the most part food was great, the only thing that was annoying was getting reservations at the restaurants. The resort itself is very clean, the only instance we had issues with that is when they came to clean our rooms and we told them to come back in 10minutes and it took about an 1 hour. All and all I would recommend this place to anyone it was a great time!

Pretty but mostly Latin/Spanish. Few Americans so no kids for my daughter t play with both in the kids club and bout.
The beach chairs are practically on top of each other.
They have a ridiculous reservation system when you have to decide all the first day and then you can only reserve 4 nights and the rest you have to have buffet. I choose the resorts with many restaurants to have the choice. The Smoke House food was HORRIFIC. staff mixed. Some didnt let us have a drink while we sorted out something with the restaurant reservation.
Iberostar runs some strange classist situation where they constantly tell you that you will get something better if you just upgrade....

Upon arrival, no room was ready for us despite it being after checkin time. We waited for a bit, then were given a room. It was not the type we had registered for and it was dirty. The toilet had visable stains on it, the floor was sandy. We returned to the checkin desk and they did give us a better room, although I never felt that anything was truly clean. The glasses had lip marks, and the dishes in the buffets were often crusty. I saw a huge dead roach in the lobby restroom. All that aside, the food was good for the most part. We generally chose the buffets as the restaurants were hard to get reservations and we didn't feel that they were anything special. We did wish the food areas were open more. We are early eaters and often the buffets weren't open until 1pm, 6pm. Trying to find a place to grab lunch at noon before our flight was tricky. The drinks at the bar were good and fast. The beach was well kept and easily accessible. The landscaping was beautiful. The staff was friendly. We did get bamboozled into \"a fancy breakfast at their neighbor resort\" which we quickly realized was a timeshare sales pitch. The shows started at 9:45pm, so we didn't really check them out. We get up early and run on the beach at sunrise, so it would have been nice to have some earlier show options. We are pretty well traveled. We have been to better, we've been to worse. Would I chose this particular resort again? Probably not.

Great service at this resort. The only complaint was the sraff at the Catalaran rental place. They misbooked me and when I came for the appointment they said it was not available when another couple was taking a Catamaran out. The rebooked for jext day and also cancelled due to high winds

Thia property had roaches. I had a roach in my room and they did nothing. The power frequently went out. The tv in the room didnt work. The only thing that was nice was the beach and thats more God than Iberostar. Do not stay here. Sanatation was subpar at best. Work resort ive ever stayed at in my life. The food was average at best. Air conditioner broke frequently
