Our room was very nice with a view of the ocean from our corner balcony. The housekeeping staff were great. The bartenders amazing. There was very little pool or beach waiter service. We had none while at the beach and maybe twice the whole week at the pool. This was different from our previous visit many years ago. Although this property will be renovated very soon, the property is well maintained. The gardeners do an amazing job. This is a very beautiful resort. We can’t wait to see it after the renovations.

This is a very good hotel, you get a great experience and value for the price that you pay.

The rooms were spacious clean, nice view, jacuzzi and a decent balcony.

The food is really good, whether at buffet or ones required reservations. They grill all kinds of meat and sea food for your order, so even the pickiest eaters won’t be hungry! All food are seasoned and cooked really well, I tried to test the Dominican food and other items that I don’t usually eat, they really make good tasting food.

The pool is so big that never gets crowded, you will have spots for yourself and your family.

The staff are ALL very friendly and try to make the experience nice.

They do have lots of daily activities at the beach and the pool and other evening activities like Bingo. Cristina, Hot chocolate, Dimmond, were AMAZING.
The kids entertainer, Asinex, was so kind and nice with kids.

At the bar, Miguel and Edwin at the pool bar and Carlos at the lobby bar should be your go to person.

Night entertainments could be a hit or miss. The circus show was fabulous, but other shows didn’t really impress or entertain.

Tips: As soon as you check in ask for the hotel app and reserve your restaurants. You can reserve days in advance ( it is not same day like other hotels).
If you’re gonna play tennis or pickle ball you’ll need to reserve that too.

Use the app to check daily events and activities.

If you are allergic or are with kids, consider that their no smoking in pool is not reinforced. People

This property is very nice but a bit dated. This is my 3rd time here and I love the layout and the lobby area and bar are beautiful. Love the beach and beach bar and the staff are very nice. The rooms and bathrooms need to be updated, especially the bathrooms in the main bar area.

Our stay was extremely disappointing. Multiple families, including ours, had to complain throughout the night due to excessive noise in the hallways. The disturbances went on for hours every night. Despite repeated complaints from several guests, the issue was not resolved for three consecutive nights.
It was very frustrating that the situation was only resolved after the disruptive guests finally moved out on their own. Guests should not have to endure sleepless nights in a resort that is supposed to provide comfort and relaxation. Unfortunately, the hotel management did not take effective action to address the problem.
Because of this experience, it significantly affected our stay and overall impression of the resort.

Staff was great and property is very nice and well cared for in general for a bit older property. Loved the way the pool meanders from one end to the other on the property and the landscaping was meticulous. Food was good. Japanese restaurant and sushi were the best. Be careful using room service. After 11 it is chargeable, yet it does NOT specify that anywhere on the app, in any info, and has no price list.

Love this resort. However there were a couple issues.
Couldn't seem to get washcloths or hand towels. One day we'd get 1 wash cloth, no hand towels. One day we'd get 2 hand towels and no wash cloths.
Our butler made reservations for us without asking for our input. He would walk past us and sit down with a couple young ladies wearing thongs. He never did know our names.
The Japanese restaurant was TOTALLY rushed. Reservation at 6:45...we were done before 7:30. Problematic!
600+ spring breakers showed up on Saturday. They were rude, obnoxious and totally out of place.
The drying rack on the deck was old, rusty and broken.
None of these things ruined our vacation, but definitely needed to be noted

We have been to this resort multiple times and it does not disappoint. We butler this time around was Jefferson and he was amazing ! He took care of all our reservations and even helped with late check out when our flight was delayed . Remembered us from previous visits, coming to majestic always feels like returning home .

I really enjoyed majestic Colonial. Beaches and pool area great, able to snorkel in the ocean and see lots of fish. The property was ok, rooms needs some updates and repairs but clean, you can tell it’s an older property. Food some really good others not as great. French restaurant I was not impressed with but Mexican restaurant was really good. Buffet had lots of options for breakfast and lunches. Staff very friendly. Lots of options for things to do and entertainment. Overall would visit this place again but would properly do to one of there sistering resorts (majestic elegance or Mirage) these are newer than colonial.

Staff was great. A little disappointed in the kids activities. We asked for a crib prior to our arrival, then again when we checked in, then again after dinner. It wasn’t until 9:30 until we got a crib delivered, way past our babies bedtime.

This was a beautiful place to stay. The food was delicious!! We didn't find out till the last day, but there was individually packaged gluten free bread there.The room needed some general fixes. We had the garden view on the 3rd floor. It was a beautiful view with a nice breeze coming through. The room was clean. The pool was absolutely huge, so whether you wanted a quiet spot or a fun spot you had it. I'd return again!! Staff was very kind and accommodating! Beach was beautiful and not much seaweed washing up on shore, compared to further up the beach. Appreciated the use of the free boogie boards, mask and snorkel.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful. The beaches are spectacular. The beach bartender was awesome. We were always able to find chairs at the beach and pool. However, the towels were often small and threadbare with holes in them. The towel card system doesn’t work.
Generally, the food was very good with a wide variety. The homemade breads and pizzas were delicious. 2 thumbs up for Japanese restaurant. 2 thumbs down for the steakhouse for food and service. We ended up going to the buffet after and saw the guests from the table next to us there.
The servers were hit or miss. They were either great or made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. On one occasion, I asked for a coffee to go and the hostess rolled her eyes and gave me an empty paper cup. I had to go and find my own coffee.
The rooms are spacious but ours was old and dated. It looked like they were starting to renovate it but stopped midway. There was caulking around the floors and the hair dryer must have fallen out of the wall so it was shoved back in and never finished. Our shower and closet doors were visibly dirty when we checked in. We called twice but they weren’t cleaned until the following day. We never got clean hand towels or wash cloths our entire stay. But the beds are very comfortable. Entertainment every night was fun. We liked it enough to try again and just booked a stay at the Elegance hoping it is a step up from the Colonial.

It was ok. Not the best resort I've stayed in. Some staff were very friendly, others not so much. Unfortunately, I thought I'd miss the spring break crowd but they came halfway through my stay and the noise was crazy and you couldnt even get up to the bars to get a drink. I'm sober and only drink water and soda so it was extra frustrating that i couldn't get those because of all of the people. There was an issue with the room service as well and they were not friendly. I was told an hour. 1 hr and 45 minutes later i called to check on it because it still hadnt come. The guy wasn't nice and he said he'd check and call me back. 20 minutes later no call, no food. So i call again and that person says oh it's on its way. Over 2 hours after ordering the guy shows up and they don't even have one of the things i ordered and he told me there wasn't any because so many orders. No one told me that at any point during the wait. It was frustrating. Plus i had to call every day to ask them to please stop stocking the mini bar with beer because i only wanted water and diet coke. Id even leave them out on the counter for them to take and they wouldn't. I understand that's not the norm and maybe they don't have any way to keep track of it but I'm like come on. You're saving a ton of money on me because i don't drink alcohol and i only eat once a day. Food was average for an all inclusive. Nothing crazy delicious but it wasn't bad either. I will say the pool was incredible. Love the pool.

This review is for the unplanned \"extra 3 days\" part of our 2026 trip to Colonial. This is our 2nd Colonial trip and our 3rd time to Majestic in Punta Cana. We absolutely love everything about Colonial...it's the best bargain in Punta Cana all-inclusives. The rooms (will be all new by November of 2026) are spacious and clean. Our room had an amazing pool/ocean view. Housekeeping was great, and our climate control was perfect. Hot water was hot immediately. We were close the VIP Club lounge, which is fantastic...food, beverages always available, along with coffee/espresso, etc. Our butler Agapito was amazing. He made our trip so easy, and helped us stay in our room for 3 extra days when our flights were cancelled due to a blizzard back home.
We spent our days at the beach and the Club pool and swim-up bar, where our favorite bartender ever, Leandro, kept us laughing and smiling (and drinking) all afternoon. His sidekick Minerva is so sweet and charming. They are a fantastic duo.
Hanskell at the club pool towel bar is an up-and-coming Majestic superstar. So friendly and well-spoken, he wants to be a butler like his older brother. He will make a great butler.
We ate the majority of our meals at the Rodeo (steak restaurant by night, buffet for breakfast and lunch) and Alejandro became our best friend. He is so friendly and made us feel right at home...he found out I am a firefighter and told me he is also a firefighter in the DR, so we hit it right off.

Another amazing trip to Majestic Colonial. This is our third trip to Majestic and our second visit at Colonial. Again, it was fabulous. The resort was clean and tidy. Our room was clean. Climate control was great, bed was comfy, hot water was hot, the shower spacious, housekeeping was on spot.
Our butler Agapito was fantastic from day one through day 10. In fact, we only booked for 7 days, but a snowstorm at home cancelled our flight and Agapito worked with the front desk to allow us to stay 3 extra days. The food was great, drinks were awesome. Our favorite bartender, Leandro at the Club side pool bar, was amazing as always, as was his sidekick Minerva. Always happy, always smiling. We love them. Alejandro at the Rodeo restaurant was amazing morning, afternoon and night. He made our meals even better. We met an incredible young man, Hanskell, working the towel counter at the club pool bar. So friendly and hard-working...he wants to be a butler one day and is well on his way. We are looking forward to the renovations that will start at Colonial soon (new rooms!) and will be back in February of 2027. We won't go anywhere but Majestic...they do everything right!

Our stay at Majestic Mirage Punta Cana was truly outstanding. Traveling from Canada, this was my sister’s and my first time in the Dominican Republic, and we couldn’t have chosen a better resort for our introduction to this beautiful country.
From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well cared for. We were especially fortunate to have SANYEL MONTERO as our butler. He was extremely professional, kind, and attentive, and you could clearly see how passionate he is about his work. Sanyel went above and beyond our expectations, taking excellent care of us throughout our entire stay. He anticipated our needs, checked in regularly, and made sure every detail was perfect. His service truly made our vacation extra special.
The food was fantastic, offering a wide variety of high-quality options at every restaurant. The amenities were impressive, with beautiful pools and well-maintained facilities. The beach was breathtaking — soft white sand, clear turquoise waters, and a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and fully enjoy every moment.
Overall, the experience was absolutely worth it. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to returning. I highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Punta Cana.

I was so excited to visit this resort but make sure to read all the reviews as I could have saved so much money by going somewhere else instead.

First of all the we got food poisoning the first two days, from the lobster in the buffet and the hibachi restaurant. The food was soo bad. The only decent food is the stuff from breakfast but even then I found a hair in the scrambled eggs one day. Make sure to drink bottled water as well. The room was kind of nasty as well and we had to constantly call them every morning to ask for new towels, or water bottles or anything. Our rooms were not also cleaned daily even though we left tips daily in our room. The extra star is for the amazing bartender in the second beach bar who was amazing. The Bavarro cultural tour was also an amazing excursion that is a must try and the highlight of the trip. Even the food we had on the excursion was probably the best food I had throughout the whole trip.

The room was also tooo cold and even the highest temp was still cold. We had to wear multiple layers and socks to sleep comfortably and even so we could not sleep properly. Also the walls are very thin, so prepare to be woken up multiple times in the night by people yelling and fighting outside or cats meowing. It also felt like the staff was not tje most professional at points, as they would be yelling across the restaurants and loudly laughing and making comments about guests I think. I wish I had gone to a different resort instead.

This was our 5th time to Punta Cana but our 1st time to Mejestic Colonial. We finally may have a resort we will return to!
Our butler Baldimil did an awesome job!!! he was a great help in making reservations especially help me with setting up a anniversary dinner on the beach for my wife!!! Baldimil continuously checked in on us even when he was off for the birthday of his son, he continued to checking on us several times a day. the staff were friendly and plite, another outstanding worker was July at the club pool bar. Our room was clean and cleaned daily and fresh towels were delivered in the room every nighy. The food at the restaurant and buffet is very good.
The pools and beach were nice with plenty of lougnger.

Our room was dated but I heard they are planning an remodel of them. The shows weren't up to par hope they are redone with the remodel. On vender night the vendors are pushy and when my wife said no thank you he called her rude. This is unacceptable!!!!
Overall we had a great time and will return to see the new updates next year! Thanks again to Baldimil!!!

We stayed 7 nights at this all-inclusive resort and overall had a great experience. The property was clean and well maintained, our room was comfortable, and there was a good variety of food options.
The only downside was inconsistent service at the buffet — some wait staff were excellent, while others seemed less attentive, especially during busy times.
Overall, it was a relaxing stay and we would consider returning.

We definitely recommend it, especially after we heard there will be renovations beginning in April 2026 it will definitely be the spot to be at in Punta Cana!

The staff at Majestic Colonial have made this experience truly a wonderful time. We had flight cancellations and the staff here were very accommodating and understanding. They were able to find us space right here in the resort. The resort itself is beautiful and has a good selection of food and activities. The animation team works so hard to make their guests have fun, they truly are the best: especially Panda and Honey! This was our first time here and we will definitely be coming back!

The resort and grounds are attractive, clean and well kept. The room however is in need of updating, it's showing it's age. We stayed in a swim up suite which was nice. Bed was comfy, but didn't appreciate housekeeping knocking on door to ask if we needed anything. They barged in more than once, which seemed odd to me. We had one whole day at resort to relax and other days had trips planned, which was perfect, otherwise I would see myself bored staying there. Food at the buffet was decent, big variety. The crowd was a bit older which was fine since I am also. Staff was very friendly, we had a nice stay for 4 nights.

The resort was immaculate. Just stunning. The rooms are large and OK. The resort is doing a refresh this spring which I think is timely. The restaurants have a nice variation and the buffet is the largest I have ever seen. Food in general is a bit inconsistent. We had some stellar meals and some disappointing - at the same restaurant. The beach is beautiful and the resort cleans up the seaweed every morning. One bit of advice, bring anti-nausea pills etc. as the on resort 'pharmacy' is very, very limited. Many staff do not speak English so getting help when you need it can be an issue.

This is our 2nd time at the resort and we came back as it was very well maintained, food was good and staff were very nice. The tile in the bathroom could stand to be updated but that really is my only complaint with this resort. We were on the adult side and had a wonderful butler Javier, who was very attentive to all our needs. We were traveling with a fairly large group of friends so there were a few issues with our dinners all getting out at a few of the restaurants but understanding how busy they were.
Everyone we interacted with was friendly and we will be back again.

The bartenders were great, specifically Milciades at the sports bar! Rooms were beautiful, we did need someone to come fix our balcony door knob and bathtub drain but they were quick to come and fix it! Some of the maids weren’t amazing, our room was always nice and clean every day though; I did find male staff to be more friendly than female staff.I hear they are renovating soon, I look forward to coming back.

The staff did not seem to like their jobs…they very rarely smiled. Our first night there some god awful alarm was going off for about 20 minutes and I couldn’t get ahold of the front desk to address it. We had to just wait for it to stop. Incredibly disappointed.

This was our third time in Punta Cana. I knew what to expect however, my wife got sick from the buffet food. She is 19 weeks pregnant and we had to seek medical care. She has not gotten sick one time before or after this trip(to those who think that was the reason). The very next day I witnessed birds in the buffet food and told the staff who laughed and left the food there for people to eat (which they did). We lost most of our time due to her being sick. The staff was nice, but in good conscience I can’t recommend this place after that. The resort did not take responsibility and did nothing for us. I’m a very down to earth easy going person but this was really disappointing.

The resort is beautiful and maintained very cleaned.We enjoyed the entertainment. The reason for 4 stars is because we were ignored by staff in 2 instances in the restaurant by the beach. All guests should be treated equally. Other than these experiences, other staff throughout the resort were friendly and helpful.

Franklin the staff member was remarkable! He was so helpful and treated my husband and I like family!!! Panda was also great, and also the host for Le Gourmet her name starts with a M I think. She was absolutely amazing!!!! The staff really made the entire stay feel like we honestly were at home! We even got pictures with all of them! The supreme buffet was exceptional! The pools were beautiful! Loved it

We had a wonderful stay at the Majestic Colonial! We are a family of 4 traveling with 2 children (age 12). The resort’s beach, pool, and activities kept our family entertained the entire time. The staff were very friendly and we felt safe. Our room was beautiful, resort was clean, and the dining options were perfect. We loved our stay and we are hopeful that we can return again.

Best experience I’ve had with an all inclusive! The property is absolutely gorgeous and very clean, the staff was amazing, our butler Alex was extremely personable and very helpful all week. My only somewhat complaint was that sometimes it felt that the resort was somewhat short staffed in the buffets and with the room service and sometimes our room wouldn’t be cleaned until as late as 5pm, but as we are people who don’t spend much time in the room this was not an issue. Majestic colonial was amazing, Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so amazing!

Beautiful property. Staff was 50/50. Some were so friendly and made us feel very welcome, while others were very short, standoffish, and somewhat rude.

We asked to two days to have our hand towels and bath floor mat replaced after housekeeping took them, and had to continue to make the request until it was finally provided.

Out last day someone from housekeeping walked in our room without even knocking, just as I was about to get in the shower.

The room itself could use some updates, the drawers fell out when I tried to open them and you had to hold the button down for the blow dryer to work. There were a couple days the WiFi did not work. One good experience at the Mexican restaurant but one terrible. Other than that, it was a great stay

The room was beautiful, but needed lots of minor repairs by professionals. All previous repairs are obvious and appear to be performed by elementary schoolchildren. Poor craftsmanship visible throughout the resort. Not a major problem, justs looks terrible. Half the staff could not speak English or were very limited in their vocabulary and needed multiple attempts at interpretation. The food was usually room temperature and not very appetizing. Even simple things like a hamburger were not visually attractive and looked like hockey pucks. The steakhouse stood out as exeptional. Our waiter Christian was absolutely perfect. Most of the staff appear to hate their jobs and their interaction with us showed it. Our butler, Liis, went above and beyond with his service. Top notch in every aspect. From entering the resort, to greeting us in the pool everyday, until we left, Luis was excellent. Luis even brought my wife Gatorade without asking after my wife contracted food poisoning after dining at the hibachi dinner. Luis is the only reason we did not rate the Majestic Colonial lower. We understand that this resort is going down for much needed maintenance and updating starting in April 2026. It's a beautiful resort that has plenty of potential, and can be a 4 star with the rught staff, maintenance, and general professionalism.

Compared to Majestic Mirage that we stayed at previously, the Colonial is at most 3 stars in our opinion.

Beach and pool area were great. Good food options. However, it is an older facility (rusty door handles, peeling paint, broken loungers, areas of the buffets had a weird bleachy bathroom smell).
Everything was compact and narrow, service amongst housekeeping, restaurant and bar staff were highly inconstant and overall was not attentive.

Will stick with Mirage in future, even with price difference
