I loved our stay. I wish we would have stayed one extra day. Kevin helped us throughout the whole trip and would reach out every morning to make sure we were good and didn’t need anything. I would absolutely go back.

I have been here five times absolutely love the place. My butler Antonio is the greatest. Also the manager Orlando they both go out their ways. The best restaurant is meats manager there. Santiago is awesome. The best restaurant the best bar Lambo bartenders are really good. I highly recommend getting the swim up even though they have plenty of seating at the outdoor pool.

Celebrated my birthday day and had a blast. The hotel stafftook care of me, even surprised me with the champagn when one of the staff passed right by me and heard it was my birthday and pulled out a cake. Stayed at the Amber adults only well worth it.

The food was actually better than expected, really good across the board. The staff at the swim-up bar at the main pool were so friendly and fun, and the buffet staff and bar staff nearby were incredibly kind and accommodating.

The coffee shop was cute and clean and the coffee itself was good, but the staff had serious attitude problems. They looked like they wanted to rip somebody’s head off every time we walked in, not exactly what you want when you’re on vacation.

Housekeeping was hit or miss. Our cleaning lady was lovely on the first day (we even tipped her $5) but after that she did a complete 180, rolling her eyes, barely cleaning the room unless we called down. Our sheets were never changed despite asking multiple times and the floors were consistently left dirty too.

That said, the resort overall had a great vibe and the staff at the sit-down restaurants were wonderful. I’d recommend reserving those at least 7 to 10 days in advance. And if you go, say hi to the local kitties, just from a distance!

‼️Honest Review on Bahia Escape Ambar ‼️

First of all, the resort was beautiful! Easy to navigate. The rooms were clean and comfortable 🏢

The beach had plenty of seats available throughout the day. They kept the beach clean by removing sargassum daily and even hourly 🏖

The pool was perfect, not too hot, not too cold, and they had great entertainment and games throughout the day and evening. The crew were very interactive and so friendly!! The pool bar was amazing! They did a great job handling many drink requests 🍹

The food was great as well. Our favorites were Yurta and M.E.A.T. Absolutely amazing service and delicious food 🥩

Drinks weren't served until 10 am, but the mini bar was fully stocked every day.

‼️All together, I'd rate it a 9 out of 10 only because it took 2 days for housekeeping to bring us conditioner‼️

💬 A suggestion... there definitely needs to be more lighting on the walk paths, especially if you're walking alone at night. We brought a flashlight and were glad we did.

We had an amazing time and will definitely be returning 💕

We enjoyed the adults only atmosphere. Everything you needed was a short walk or in the event of some of the restaurants in the neighboring resorts a short ride away. The staff is all very friendly. Everything seemed well maintained. The ocean was very swimmable in this area. The resort regularly cleans up the seaweed along the shoreline and it is a non-issue. Plenty of beach chairs when we traveled at the end of May / beginning June. Nice variety of restaurants with the buffets always an option should you choose. We would stay here again.

My stay was disappointing overall. The room had several maintenance issues, including a malfunctioning A/C, a broken mini fridge, and a phone that did not work properly. The food was generally below average, with only a couple of the specialty restaurants providing a good dining experience. I was also surprised by the limited alcohol selection, as other adults-only resorts I’ve stayed at offered a much wider variety of higher-quality brands. Unfortunately, the resort did not meet the standards I expected based on my previous experiences at comparable properties.

It was ok stay not a 5 star at all. The restaurants are ok not exceptional. The entertainment is boring as they cater to only one type of visitors, no carribean flavor but rock n boring music. I eanted merengue bahata. Very slow pace. No shows like the other resorts. The beach was beautiful but full of weeds. The pool is nice n the bar too. You had to go early in the morning to get and secure a spot. However not top drinks. The personnel was great. I few mishaps but it was taken care.

Not sure if I will visit again. First resort that I did feel right.

Best $50 spent on parasailing. Lots of food options, trolley for transport, and dancing every night at any of the resorts 👍 we had a ball!

We absolutely loved our stay! The staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Although a portion of the property is under construction it doesn’t get in the way of the active properties. With our Ambar bracelets we had access to the other properties and the train carts run like clockwork to take us around with ease. The à la carte restaurants are very good but try and book immediately upon arrival because getting a reservation for anytime after 6-7pm was almost impossible. We went to the steak house M.E.A.T and while the food was very good the service was a bit slow we sat for about 30-45min before getting any apps. The Takara restaurant was my favorite! The sushi and fried rice were amazing! And Tequila the Mexican restaurant had great guac and chips I was just disappointed with the taco platter which was more like a fajita platter and could have used more color to it some pico de gallo would have been nice otherwise the fajita platter was good. The buffet had cultural variety which we love! The sports bar has the best chicken burgers, wings, and cheese sticks, must try! The spa had great offers and we had a stress relief couples massage which relieved stress from my back I didn’t know I had 10 out of 10! Lastly the sargassum this time of year was bad but they had the cleaning trucks which allowed us to enjoy the beach after all! The “good” seats at the pool are taken fast secure yours! We can’t wait to go back with the entire family and 100% recommend this property!

It was alright. The room provided when we first went there was the wrong room I had originally booked. But we got it eventually. Certain staff members were very helpful, but a lot of them were scammers trying to get your money. Be aware. The pool was the highlight for me and my wife, we had a good time and the foam party was a blast. All in all, 3/5 stars. It is possible that we may go again.

The layout of the property and the landscaping was very nice. Unfortunately, everything else, not so much.
The bed was hard, there was no top sheet, only the bottom sheet and the duvet. No shower gel was provided, it was only after our butler kept after housekeeping for 3 days did we get any. The staff was not friendly, the exception being two of the bartenders at the swim up bar, and our butler for villa 70, Kevin Paulino. The staff in the lobby gift shop were very rude. Very few of the staff spoke or understood English. The food was barely adequate, with Limbo being the best of the 3 restaurants. And most important to note, they do not allow toilet paper to be flushed. Instead, used toilet paper is to be placed in the trash can beside the toilets. The lobby area is a bit small to accommodate guests who wish to take part of any activities that may be offered. Also note the vehicles on the property are extremely loud- for example the trash trucks that came through outside of villa 70 at 1:40 am. The staff walking about either early morning or late evenings are also very loud, with little regard for the guests.
Room service could not get our standing order correct, nor were they able to deliver at the time our butler had requested, so we had to cancel that.
Also be prepared that despite signage warning against it, guests will go out at early hours to reserve pool and beach chairs, and not show up til hours later, if at all.

Our trip to Bahia Principe Escape Ambar was amazing. Staff was kind and did all they could to make your stay prefect. Especially our conseurge Horam. The staff kept the ground and all other areas clean. The bar staff kept the drinks flowing and the laughs plenty. Entertainment staff always had activities going and we're super upbeat and great at getting people to participate in things. We went to 2 A LA Carte restaurant Flame and Takara. Both were spectacular. Unfortunately this time of year the sea just has an issue with seaweed. Nothing they can do about it so we spent our days at the pool which was no issue as it's huge and we had no problem finding shaded seats even at 1030 am under the pergola. Overall it was a wonderful trip and I would absolutely return.

The atmosphere was not inviting, as it catered primarily to a 55+ community. While our group consisted of six people aged 25 to 60, we found ourselves surrounded by many older guests. The overall vibe was not lively; instead, it seemed geared towards relaxation rather than fun and celebration.
The staff appeared unhappy, often heard grumbling in Spanish about guests and their lack of tips. While I understand their frustrations, it becomes difficult to tip when the service doesn't meet expectations.
Dining options were mediocre. The buffet felt outdated and did not convey a sense of luxury. The paint was peeling, contributing to an overall sense of neglect. While the outdoor areas were well-maintained, they became uncomfortably dark at night.
The pool was large, providing ample space, but the pool bar left much to be desired. With chipping paint and a gooey floor, the bar area had an unpleasant odor reminiscent of stale fish.
To be fair, it wasn't the worst experience; the food was quite good. No one in our group fell ill, and the variety of offerings was impressive and flavorful. But the pervasive attitude of the staff made our stay less enjoyable.
I would not come again.

The hotel at Ambar was good altogether, but the staff was horrible. Especially at the pools and in the cafeteria, they very rude and selective in who they helped. As there weren’t many other black travelers, I noticed the stay being more attentive to the non-black travelers in the cafeteria. Every single night I stayed there, I had to hunt down someone for a beverage and help with the food. At the bars in the pool areas, the “bartenders”, were extremely rude and short tempered. They couldn’t even be classified as bartenders, as they can’t really make any drinks and the ones they did make tasted terrible. One bartender tried to give me a drink that was mixed with a dirty spoon, and I could see the trash in the drink. I pointed it out to him, and he was rude about making a new one, and he just threw everything around.

The stuff is incredible helpful , friendly and efficient!. In the buffet Kerlin is most helpful, very handful and that spoke good English and could translate. It to the other stuff. Not sure if remember his name corrrvtly. Also, Ramon at the pool handling the towels, the nicest guy. The food , the restaurants are great! Love it!

I will never stay at any Bahía Príncipe resort again. experience was not what I am used to or paid for.concierge service was horrible from start to finish. TV remote guide didn’t work, there was no way to know what channel was on. My family wanted to watch the NBA game in English, we could only find in Spanish. I called the concierge for help, he simply said there was an American channel without telling me the channel. I searched and still could not find it. also no TV lineup anywhere in the room.room itself was nice and spacious, but the bathroom design was terrible, completely open with no doors or curtain, offering absolutely no privacy.Simple requests took forever. asked for extra towels, the concierge responded very slowly, if at all. Housekeeping rationed towels. One time, after finally finding someone, he gave me one towel. I explained I needed more, he returned with one additional towel. There were not even face towels on the carts. laundry situation was completely unacceptable. The app instructed guests to scan a QR code for laundry service, but there was no QR code anywhere in the room or closet. I asked the concierge, he told me to place the clothes in the middle of the bed with a written note for housekeeping. I followed those instructions, even wrote the note in Spanish, housekeeping still ignored the laundry request. requested extra towels in note, returned, clothes were untouched and no towels.theres so much more but I’m out of room. I would not recommend.

The facility provided an umbrella in the room which was unexpected and appreciated. I found everything really enjoyable. Food was amazing the staff was amazing, if there was one thing I was too have an exception with it would be the facility in their app not notifying you on what was on the agenda for the day. I.e the ping pong tournament the limbo dances all the activities. And there were numerous activities to do which was appreciated but again it was hard to find out what was going on for that day. They would send you notifications about getting a spa treatment but nothing else. My wife and I truly had a wonderful and relaxing time. Great bang for the buck. We will do it again. They had a myriad of restaurants that you could choose from. You did have to make reservations. I would recommend making the reservation a week in advance. Download their app. The last thing I will say is that 95% of all the people at night really dressed up nicely.

I stayed in this hotel back in 2020, 2024 and now(May2026). A lot has changed since last time I stayed here. Sheets have yellow stains on even when requested it to be changed, food quality decreased significantly. Alcohol options that are included not good. Pineapple in the beach are used to be included ow you have to pay for each $5. Restaurant reservation are hard to make, almost everything was booked up when we checked in and we had to use buffet almost every night.
The only good part was the staff. Everyone was polite and tried to do their best.

I've been to the DR many times for mission work, but this time it was for a girls trip and Bahia Ambar was wonderful! The resort was clean, well maintained and easy to navigate and the staff was respectful, friendly and kind. We appreciated that the resort vibe was generally laid back, and not a party-scene. There wasn't much of a night life, but the restaurants and spa experience was excellent. Would definitely return for another long weekend getaway to relax!

A/C didn’t work practically at all in 2 of the 3 rooms. Fan was noisy. All that was reported, they did nothing to fix it or change rooms. Restaurants à la carte were very difficult to get. Nautical included attractions, were full but the staff suggested to talk to guy to make an opening, so was it full or not? I saw at least two catamarans sitting on the sad for quite sometime, which tells me they were not reserved.

The staff was so kind and lovely, and they were always helpful! My only issue was that the white sheets and towels all had stains, and I found a few hairs in my food during the stay. That kind of tainted the experience for me.

If you look for an adult only vacation, or even to travel alone, that's the place to go. The Property is gorgeous;111111 the Staff is amazing and always there for whatever you need. There are plenty things to do or just relax at your own swim up pool (that's what I had). The food is great and different themes every day at the Buffet. I have been at Ambar many times and also went to another property. I would never cheat again!!! Ambar is and will be the Best Resort in Punta Cana.

The room was free of bells and whistles but exactly what we needed. The housekeeping staff were always attentive and provided a wonderful experience for those times when we were in the room.

Importantly, the a la carte restaurant options are excellent for an all inclusive resort — and even beyond. We never had any issues finding a decent spot to situate ourselves for sunning, whether in front of the pool or on the beach.

The staff, as a whole, were friendly and accommodating. No problem checking in or out, and every moment in between was enjoyable. We look forward to coming back in the future!

Staff is amazing. Food was mediocre and the hotel doesn’t include any excursions. Definitely not worth the money you pay. Cats are super cool to see though!

Pool was great - Had to reserve a seat early though. Staff was great - very freindly and accomodating. Bring lots of small bills for tipping. Buffet was OK - some food was cold and not appetizing. Golf cart trolley ride was terrific. Cam right away fast - no wait to get to the other properties for dinner

My first time at an all inclusive resort and first time in Punta Cana, and I can honestly say that this was one of the best experiences in my life. The staff here truly makes you feel welcomed. I stayed here for a week and could stay here forever. The Limbo restaurant and Casa Bella restaurants were my personal favorites. The bar tenders at the Daiquiri were amazing, wish I remembered their names, but they deserve a raise! Our room was ALWAYS clean, fridge was always stocked, and the staff was always so nice. 1000/10!

I recently stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar and overall had a good experience. The beach and water were absolutely beautiful and were definitely a highlight of the trip. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay there.
One area that needs improvement is the resort app. It was not very user friendly, and we often had trouble figuring out what was open or closed and where things were located. Updating the app to be clearer and more helpful would make a big difference for guests.
The service was a bit mixed. The golf cart drivers were always friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. However, some of the bar staff and other workers we encountered could have been more welcoming and inviting.
Overall, it was a good trip with some standout positives, but a few improvements could really elevate the experience
