That my 23 rd time in Punta Cana. Usually going to Riu Hotels, but … they was booked and we decided go here.
Easy Check in/out .clean room,1 Pepsi and 7up in a fridge, nothing else! 10 min line for breakfast buffet just to get table, next 10-15 min line for eggs, limited food choice, very bad service , no coffee or mimosas,
You can’t get beach chairs after 9am!
Beach bars/ pool bars crews is Awesome!
Girl makes burger in food trailer working hard and cheeseburger is tasty, but you need to stay in line 30 min.
To dark after sunset ( not enough light)
My opinion: Royalton splash-2stars hotel, better to go in Riu or Majestic

The pools are amazing , beach 10 minutes walk
They prioritize the dimond members which makes us feel left out if you are a regular member
The staff in general not very friendly, not smily and can’t respond to any requests, the only staff that is amazing are the entertainment staff

My phone was stolen at the restaurant and security had to go get it where the staff stays overnight , I got no excuses at all it’s unacceptable

We took our two boys out of Canada for the very first time to Royalton Splash Punta Cana. There were things that were great and also not so great!! I found the trip to be on the expensive side as it is, and upon arrival the check in lady demanded we upgraded to “diamond club” just to have a room with two beds which was absolutely absurd. She said rooms depended on arrival even tho I had booked 6 months in advance. They also told us we couldn’t access anything on the resort including casino, beach restaurants, etc unless we were diamond club. Which is completely false as we accessed all without upgrading.

On the brighter side of things. The room was always incredibly clean, the housekeepers were fantastic. Also lots of activity for the whole family. Always somewhere to get a snack for the family. Our youngest is 5 and was OBSESSED with kids club, he never wanted to leave and that was great. Also shuttle was super convenient for getting to the water park and beach. Without diamond club you can still have a great vacation with your family. Just don’t be surprised when they charge you extra fees for restaurants and treat you like garage if you aren’t diamond club lol

We were at Royalton Splash in Feb 2026 with Diamond club access.
Bad Experience - We ate at Grazie one of their fine Italian restaurant our last night. After waiting for over an hour they served us 2 pizzas - thoroughly uncooked and raw. We asked for the chef and showed him the inedible uncooked food served to us, and he agreed this should not be served. While all this was happening our 2 sons ate their pasta which visually seemed to be ok. Later that night both kids threw up all night, cried form pain and we had housekeeping change our bed covers several times. It was form the pasta they both had! Next morning we complaint and there was no action or assurance done by the hotel. We spent all night in pain and agony and they still charged us for that. A friendly staff member told us other guests who ate their last night were sick too. THEY SERVED ROTTEN FOOD AND MADE PEOPLE SICK AND TOOK NO ACCOUNTABILITY!!

Not SO BAD - I wasn't really impressed with the Diamond club benefits as i did not experience anything other than someone else doing your dinner reservations...which was pretty easy to do through the app. But the waterpark, the pools and the entertainment was good and enjoyable for the kids. Beach was nice and clean.
But for the the way the resort management dismissed our Food Poisoning complaint and did not act on it, shows their commitment towards their guests. For this reason i wont be going o this property again neither would i recommend it to anyone!

Overall, this property suffers from poor communication and inconsistent service, which significantly affected our stay.

From the start, there was a lack of transparency at check-in. Guests staying at Splash are not clearly informed that restaurants on the Punta Cana side are not included. This is only mentioned later, along with an added cost of $48 per person. In my opinion, this upgrade is not worth it. The food was mediocre at best. The so-called “steakhouse” served the same meat offered at the buffet, making the additional $98 for two people feel like a complete rip-off.

Throughout the stay, the most frustrating issue was the constant lack of basic items. I repeatedly heard “no hay” (“we don’t have”) to the point where it became almost comical. This included requests for fried cheese at the buffet, bottled water at restaurants, smoothies at Scoops, ketchup for a burger, pool towels on three different occasions, and even a mango smoothie at the bar. The frequency of this response was shocking and unacceptable for a resort.

Cleanliness was also an issue. Our room was not properly cleaned, and when I stepped into the shower, there was hair in the drain from the previous guest, which was disgusting.

Room service was another disappointment, with quoted wait times of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Between the poor communication, extra charges, constant shortages, cleanliness issues, and slow service, this resort did not meet expectations. I would not stay here again.

This is a great resort. It’s beautiful, clean and the staff is really friendly. We had a few issues. Half of our group had a gasto bug that seemed to last 24 hours. After speaking with people from many other resorts (our flight was cancelled so we had the chance to talk to so many people), it seems as if it wasn’t specific to this resort - but to DR in general.

Our son (5 y/o) sliced his foot open quite badly on one of the pools - second from the reception desk, near the swim up bar) we travelled with 2 nurses who thought it could have been stitched. We stayed away from that pool for most of the trip, returned on the last day and lo and behold - he got another cut. Steer clear or put water shoes on.

There were also some issues with water in our room - not long lasting but sort of annoying when you can flush the toilet - family of 5 that’s sort of annoying, but not long lasting so it was fine.

There are tons of complaints about the buffet. We really enjoyed the buffet - nothing to complain about there. Al la carte restaurants also take a lot of heat but we thought they were quite good - not knock your socks off good, but enjoyable.

The beach was fantastic. The slides were really awesome. Whatever you want is fairly close by. The food truck on the beach had the best burgers. Still dreaming of these. The bars were great, they would mar whatever you wanted and didn’t wait terribly long anywhere. The beach bar was the best service, but really, they’re all good. 4/5

Entertainment options can also be improved especially at the splash. If you want to be in close proximity to this book at the main Royalton Hotel.

Before you decide to stay here, know this. Bottled water is extremely hard to find. When dining or poolside the staff is not allowed to get you bottled water. The resort now has a purified water system that they expect you to drink from. It has a highly salty taste to it. This also reflects on the bad coffee that they serve you as well. They say that you should not drink the tap water in Punta Cana because you will get sick. The resort expects you to trust them and drink the new supposedly purified salty water. No thank you! You can drink all the beer, cocktails, soda, etc but bottled water is out of the picture except what they bring to your room or make you go find during the day to stay hydrated.
We also stayed here to enjoy the water park but the electricity powering the park kept going out every 5-10 minutes shutting everything down.
VERY DISAPPOINTED in our 4 day stay.
My recommendation is to find a different resort to stay at.

The room was OK. Not in the best shape. One of the door hinges came off, there was a leak from the shower that would create a puddle by the door of the bathroom. They did accommodate us with a roll away bed that we appreciated. Luis was nice. He was a concierge staff. Very helpful. The kids enjoyed the pool at the Royalton. The water park was nice and fun. The food was not the best. My stomach didn't agree with the food but I just stuck to basic items (burgers, grilled chicken and fries.

Over all it was a great vacation.
We attended a wedding at the Royalton ( resort right at the ocean).

The beach was amazing but it definitely is a walk away..
The water slides were amazing to say the least! They were for sure a highlight to our vacation.

We had the pleasure of dinning at Jade (great food and amazing service!!) we did have some troubles securing an A LA CART online... I recommend getting a butler so you don't have to worry about getting into a restaurant.
The buffet was decent.. Seems silly but its kinda hard to find coffe cups and to simply get a glass of water during the day time. Dinner at the buffet was great and we have no complaints there.

The entertainment staff was AWESOME!! Shout out to *Black Coffee* his nickname not ours lol.. JEFFFF loved every minute of it! ***We hope you still have his sticker!!***

Foam party was a HIT, unfortunately it did rain half way through... I would recommend the staff to tell their guest to stay off the platform to insure that the foam makes it into the pool... Get some leaf blowers out there to move the foam around so the others in the back can also enjoy the party without having to be in the thick of it..

For the rooms with walk out levels to the main pools.. some lawn chairs would be great!

The main pools definitely need MORE UMBRELLAS.
2 per chair if I'm being honest.. The sun is STRONG and a little shade if needed would go a long way so you don't have to leave and go to your room.

Unfortunately there was no children's arcade (site says there is one); nothing for them in children's center, and the app have wrong times for activities; app was not user friendly for restaurant booking (they really want you to use buffet); site indicates many \"a la carte\" yet few with most an upcharge and others non-bookable, so we couldn't get in. Buffet was good, with hear service but don't ask for eggs over easy.

A family of 7 start fighting and physically and verbally, security staff was slow to respond and not proficient in English language, city polic got involved and took the assaulting guy to jail and asked me to be there at police station the next day early morning, hotel asked me to move to the different room for my safety, then the next day they asked both parties to go to two different resort, I couldn’t understand why I had to move since I was the victim, they said it is the policy.
My room was changed 3 times, I had to pay for taxi to go to police station and it was the most terrifying vacation I ever had. Food was not good. Too loud.
They really didn’t show any sympathy in any way.

The AC doesn't work properly and in the room there was a cockroach coming out of the sink. The staff had to give us special treatment, according to the receptionist, because I had made the reservation through Expidia. When we went to him, he was terrible because he barely spoke and the little we asked him, he didn't know, no special treatment at all.

This has been my worst hotel experience in my life.....I arrived at the proper time around 3 pm and the hotel had me waiting until 630pm. on that matter i asked for a late check which i was given....but when i arrived to my hotel room my bag were not in my room and my girlfriend went to take a shower and the fire alarm in my room starting ringing very laud, i called for help and no one came so i went to the lobby to complain. they took 1 hour to fix the problem sending 5 people to the room while my couple was very uncomfortable of having 5 men looking at her and she couldn't change because our bags were not sent until the end......so finally at 715pm i finally get settle in my room. The hotel acted on this and offer me upgraded dinner and upgraded room. which this was totally fine until the next day when i get my room after dinner....i get a non functioning key that never worked, i had to go several times to the lobby making me loose more time. also they never sent the bags again...so again i had to wait 30 more mins and to top that the room smelled like tabacco and the mini fridge empty and when i call asking to send water and beer they denied sending it....in a all inclusive hotel they simply dont care......by far the worst costumer service of all time... they simple dont care about their guest....by the way the key never worked until 1 hour before check out...i was at the mercy of the employees around to open my room.

Staff was all either amazing or worthless, I don't think there was anyone we interacted with that was in between. In general the cleaning staff, bartenders, and concierges were incredible and the wait staff was terrible, but there were exceptions to all of those. The pools were well maintained as well as the bars. The room water ranged from clear to \"are you sure you flushed?\". Regular (about every other day) power outages. Sunscreen was $37-50 US. I expect and am fine with some amount of price gouging for the convenience of not leaving the property, but that exceeds what I am willing to tolerate. We also had more than one incident of being charged the wrong amount or wrong conversion rate \"accidentally\". The shop staff didn't realize that we understood them talking and know it wasn't accidental. The entertainment was actually entertaining and the dancers/circus performers were amazing. Food ranged from good to inedible. In the same meal at the seafood restaurant I had wonderful octopus as an appetizer but then when I also has octopus as part of my entree it was so tough I didn't think I'd be able to chew it enough to swallow. The food in the buffet was typical buffet food, overcooked and not kept at proper temperatures. The Italian and Mexican restaurants we ate at were good, except for the steak at the Italian place. We didn't do the steak restaurant because the steak was so poorly cooked any time someone ordered one at another restaurant that we didn't want to chance it.

The water park was wonderful for the kids, nice selection of food and staff was great. The property is getting pretty tired, lots of broken tile and the bathroom shower wasn’t ideal but staff fixed issues quickly. The big issue would be the sickness, 3 out of 5 of us got very Ill and are still dealing with the aftermath of it. Even being careful we got incredibly sick so keep that in mind when booking. Amarlys was a fantastic butler, she helped us with transportation issues and general bookings around the resort. Overall It was a fun experience but with how sick we are I’m not sure I would go back.

We had the best time at Royalton Splash Punta Cana! The waterslides were amazing super fun for both kids and adults, we could’ve spent all day there. The food was delicious with so many choices, and everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, always smiling and making sure we had everything. The whole resort was clean, and just a huge party!

Honestly, we didn’t want to leave! If you’re looking for a fun, relaxing getaway with great food and service, this is the place. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had a wonderful vacation, and the vast majority of it, was thanks to our Butler, Ernesto! He also, really went above and beyond to help my daughter's 21st birthday, special and memorable. Any reservations for dinner, recommendations for excursions, and anything in the welcome Diamond Package the hotel left out, he made sure we did receive. Ernesto had the best customer service experience one could offer. Very prompt with response and professional.
Going into the buffet, the female staff at the front desk would argue our clothes were wet, even though they weren't, they said I couldn't enter with a red halter top swim piece and a high waisted red skirt cover up. Although it's a beach look that's appropriate for a buffet AT THE BEACH.
The food itself was always the same IF, it was open and there was actually food in the trays and not empty. The Bella Cucina was the absolute worst, just don't go there. The Teppanyaki was the absolute best though!!! We actually went twice!! So fun and food was delicious!!
If it wasn't for Ernesto, I probably would've rated the overall experience lower. A lot of the staff were really rude and unhappy looking.
I would highly suggest stay at the sister resort on the same property, not Splash. Splash was so amazing for the water park though!! Our girls 13 and 11, and even us adults had so much fun!! No alcohol served in there, but it was definitely fun!!
Overall one and done, but again thanks to Ernesto, we had a wonderful time!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Worst experience we have ever had. We booked this trip with two other family couples, to celebrate two birthdays and my anniversary together. From the second we got there the “resort” was grungy, dirty and did not feel like a “resort” should. We pull up to this open area where you see a bunch of suitcases and is very uninviting. Initially I didn’t realize this was the place we are to hold our luggage, until we are rudely approached and told by a staff member to leave our luggage there. The communication was horrible, rude and inattentive to their paying customers. Definetley not a resort feel. We proceed to check in- there is NO CENTRAL AC what so ever in that whole resort. God for bid you have to use the restroom, you are sweating in a sauna the entire time (you dread having to use the restroom!) once we get to our rooms, they are dark, hot, smells humid and like mold, the rooms felt dirty and disgusting. You can tell the rooms had bandaid fixes and almost went into tears at the thought of having to sleep in that bed. I have pictures of the moldy areas around the corners in the bathrooms, broken bathroom doors and the best part…. A
Tumbleweed of what I hope was just someone’s hair weave ! (Disgusting!!) My sister’s room was exactly the same feeling. My Brothers room who came with an infant booked their room with a special accommodation of a crib/playpen to put their 11 month old in. They circle the first floor to realize

What I liked about the property was the waterpark. The many nearby bars to grab a beverage. There’s two main buffets one of which is better then the other and that is the one located closest to the beach. Now what I dislike is how run down the rooms are. There was giant cockroaches in my room. And I paid for a luxury deluxe room and it was far from luxury smelt like dirty water pipes. Thankfully, I didn’t do one week here I stayed for two nights and I wouldn’t go back. 2.5 out of 5

Una decepcio. Total es mi. Uarta vez en este jotel y para nada es lo que era, dure 4 dias y solo limpiaron mi habitacion una vez, la comida sin variedad y las carnes duras y sin sabor, el perlsonal esta cansadoby desmotivado, el room service es horrible y la recepcion tambiem nunca atienden

Our butler Ernesto provided excellent service always attended to our needs and assisted in setting up the restaurants for dinner. We saw him every day and make sure we were alright.

El hotel esta muy bonito, pocos empleados y la mayoria parece que tenian pocas ganas de trabajar. Tenian actitud arrogante. Los empleados echandose la culpa unos con otros, me parece que es un poco incomodo escuchar escuxas por algo que se paga. El Buffet estaba sucio, hasta la tostadora del pan. El aire del cuarto no enfriaba, se reportó y nadie fue a resolver.

This was the worst resort my family and I have ever stayed at. The staff barely spoke English and were not interested in helping us at all. When we arrived in our room, the air conditioning read 85 degrees F. We turned the air on and hours later it didn't drop a single degree. We called the front desk and they said someone would come look. Over an hour later, nobody showed up, so we called again. Someone came out, pretended to \"work\", and told us that we had to \"f-ing wait\". That whole night and the next day the temperature in our room didn't drop a single degree. Our room was hot, humid, and full of mosquitoes. The bed sheets were dirty. There was an outlet with its cover ripped off the wall and wires hanging out. There was rust in the shower. The area where the buffet was had no air conditioning or even fans to keep the area/food cool. That can't be safe. We repeatedly asked for water and nobody brought any over. The service was terrible. We wound up booking another resort and leaving the following day.

We originally booked to stay at the Royalton Splash and had to change our stay to Royalton Punta Cana. The rooms at the Splash were terrible, mold, dust, bugs, outdated, etc. The waterpark was closed for 2 days and the smaller children waterpark was completely closed for renovations. We switched over to Royalton Punta Cana and that was a complete different story. Beautiful and renovated. Glad we were able to make the switch!

They just need to replace the buffet staff. They don't serve you, and they even told me to eat ice cream with a fork. Otherwise, the hotel is fantastic.

I wasn’t expecting this to go so bad. Since I arrived. The check in took 2 hrs. The main lobby is under construction and they are using a smaller area to attend everyone. The first thing I noticed is that they made me walk through the wet floor as they were moping. 2 ladies fell as I got into the line. The room was ready but when we arrived it smelled really bad. They weren’t clean. The sealing had dust bunnies hanging. The service at the buffet just to get a table or a cup of water from the server was an issue. The food wasn’t replaced. During breakfast they denied me entry because I needed a tshirt, but once I came back the rule was just for a few others had their bathing suit top without issues. I contacted Customer Service and notified them of my many issues. They tried cleaning the room better and it smelled nicer. The Manager tried their best to make our experience better. They decorated our room and gave us a dinner on another resort. Next morning the room stank again. I believe the service is the result of low staff and bad management. You could hear the staff complain. To get an attendant to help with the luggage on check out was another issue. I called 3 times and still no one answer. 2 nights 10 people in total and no one had a good a experience. The pool area was nice the water park was nice.
